Objective To explore the efficacy of case-based teaching in medical genetics course. Method The whole class majoring Pediatrics in 2018 batch was the experimental class, and the clinical medicine students in 2018 batch are the control class. Case-teaching was carried out in experimental class and traditional classroom teaching was carried out in control class. Evaluation of the teaching effect was conducted through the examination result analysis and the questionnaire survey. Results The final exam scores of experimental class was significantly higher than that of control class (P<0.0001). The questionnaire survey results showed that the majority of students were satisfied with the effect of case-teaching 93.04% respondents thought it helped them to understand and apply knowledge about genetic diseas flexibly, 93,04% respondents thought their problem-solving skill were improved 95.65% spondents thought their reasoning ability improved: 94.78% respondents reported they were more motivated in learning. Conclusion Case-based teaching is suitable for medical genetics course, it improves the teaching efficacy and outcomes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To make a parallel mining the data of expression differences of a crucial gene XPA involved in nucleotide excision repair pathway of human skin microarrays by bioinformatics from the system level. Methods Using the ScanGEO， the data of microarrays which included the significant differences expression level of XPA were screened and analyzed from 59 human skin samples in the GEO database. Results There were 7 samples with the down-regulated expression of XPA: cutaneous malignant melanoma， epidermal injury model， DNA damage and UV radiation， foreskin fibroblast response to Toxoplasma gondii RH type 1 （ROP5） mutant infection， interleukin-20 subfamily cytokines effect on epidermal keratinocytes， Egr-1 overexpression effect on skin fibroblasts in vitro: time course， in vitro model for inflammatory dendritic cells. The prevention of occupational exposure to HIV has been carried out in China for many years，and achieved remarkable results. However， the practice of preventive drugs among people with non occupational exposure has many difficulties. Although the high-risk groups show high willingness and demand，their awareness of the preventive drugs is low due to the fear of increasing unprotected sex after the use of the drug. Other factors negatively affecting the application of the drugs are the cost and the side effects. In order to provide preventive treatment on time for the high-risk groups， the awareness of non occupational exposure prophylaxis should be raised. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To analyze the results of HIV/AIDs surveillance among the men who have sex with men （MSM） in Guandu District， Kunming City， so as to provide the evidence for the future development of prevention and control strategies. Methods We analyzed the infection of HIV，syphilis and hepatitis C and related behaviors. Results A total of 462 MSM were surveyed in 2013-2015，the total HIV positive rate was 15.8% （73 cases）， and the HIV positive rate was 16.2%，15.4%，16.1% in 2013，2014 and 2015，respectively，there was no statistically deference between three years （ >0.05） .There were 50 cases（10.8） of syphilis antibody positive， one case（0.2%） of HCV antibody positive. In the last six months， there were 95.7% who had anal sex， among them there were 56.5% who used condom every time，there were 83.5% who used condom in last anal sex；there were 15.2%who had commercial sex with MSM， among themthere were 58.2%who used condom every time；there were 21.9% who had sex with women， among them there were 40.6% who used condom every time. Conclusions The awareness rate of HIV/AIDS was high， but the condom use rate was low，there was a discrepancy between their knowledge and their behavior. The HIV positive rate and syphilis antibody positive rate were high，the prevention and control condition is very serious，we should take actions to improve our intervention strategies.
