This research study aims to find out the research productivity of Nigerian and Indian authors to the library philosophy and practice from 2008 to 2013. The present study also finds the frequency of productivity, author collaboration, papers length, most cited papers, and most references as well as most productive authors. The present research finds the 226 research articles have been contributed by Nigerian authors and 193 papers have been contributed by Indian authors. The highest number of papers has been written by Nigerian authors was 76 in 2010 and from the Indian 60 papers were contributed in 2013. This present study identifies those 114 single authors from Nigeria and 80 from India. 116 papers from Nigerian authors those range 6-10 pages while 57 from India. The total numbers of references were used by Nigerian authors those were 4140 while Indian was used 3243 references from 2008 to 2013. The most productive authors S.Thanuskodi from India who wrote 09 papers and Dike Agah from Nigeria have contributed only 5 papers. The prime purpose of this study is to find out the research productivity of three regions Nigeria, Pakistan, and India. The bibliometric quantification was used to analyze the data. The present research identifies the importance of this online journal. The study discloses frequency of publication growth, author's collaborations, papers length, and most cited papers, most productive authors, and total references used. Design/methodology/approach The survey method was used to find out the full-text research articles on the online database of LPP. The Google scholar was used to retrieve the citations. All the collected data has been analyzed using MS excel and other electronic devices. Findings The results of this study indicate that in the year 2008 to 2013. The contribution of Nigerian authors is more than the other two nations that are 226 while Indian comes 2nd with 193 research papers and Pakistan comes 3rd with 67 research articles from the studied period in the wellknown journal of Library and information science field that is LPP. The present study revealed the majority of the research articles were single authors from Nigeria 114, Pakistan 18, and India 80. The study results show that the majority of the paper length in the range of 6-10 Nigerian 116, Pakistan 34, and India 70 respectively. The study showed the total references were calculated 4140 from Nigeria, 1506 Pakistan, and 3243 from Indian. The most cited paper was retrieved by a Nigerian paper that is 197 citations. The analyzed data shows the most productive authors were Rubina Bhatti from Pakistan with 18 research papers. This study contributes to the existing literature of three-nation contributions to the Library Philosophy and practice throughout the year. This is the first study of three-nation research productivity in the well-known online journal library philosophy and practice. Limitations of the study The present study was limited to the well-known LIS Journal and research articles specifically published at online journal library philosophy and practice. This study is purely limited to the research productivity of Nigerian, Pakistani, and Indian authors to the Library Philosophy and Practice from 2008 to 2013. Practical implications Despite its limitations, the findings of the study will help the LIS professionals of three nations and as well as other parts of the LIS professionals to provide more information about their research productivity of a particular journal. Library Philosophy and Practice is a popular open access peer-reviewed electronic journal in the field of Library and Information Science. The journal is published under the auspices of University of Idaho Library and University of Nebraska Lincoln, United States and being indexed by world's largest bibliographic database SCOPUS since 1998. The coverage areas of the journal include explorations of current, past, and emerging theories of librarianship and library practice. The article discusses and measures the effect of the peer review process on research citations and to compare the research impact of refereed and working papers. One hundred one research articles published in "Information Research: An International Electronic Journal," from the years 1998-2002 were used. The related literature on the topic of the peer review process is explored. Citation statistics are given of the research publications, of refereed papers, and of working papers. It was found that the process of peer review has a significant effect on the research impact of articles regarding the number of citations.

The Present was carried out to find out the productivity of Nigerian authors to library philosophy and practice during 2008 to 2013.the objectives of the study was to set to disclose. The Paremeters were set for this study includes to find out frequency of publications, Authors collaboration, papers length, references, most cited papers and most productive authors. The results revealed that total number of papers has been contributed in LPP that is 226. The present study looks at the composition and growth of world publications output on Library 2.0. The total world output on Library 2.0 during 2004-14 cumulated to 186 papers; and the world output witnessed 6.67% quinquennial growth from 2004-2009 to 2010-14, There were 1183 citations to 186 papers since their publication. In all 65.31% publications received 1 to 30+ citations per paper during 2004-14. Top 10 most productive countries, (out of forty) contributed 80.1% publication share and 94.77% citation share. Social sciences accounted for the highest publications share (79.57%), followed by computer science (46.77%), business, management & accounting, arts & humanities, engineering and medicine and decision science (less than 5% share each) during 2004-14. Top 31 most productive organizations (out of 163) and top 34 most productive authors (out of 180) contributed 39.78% and 39.25% publications share respectively and their citations share was 40.41% and 32.97% respectively during 2004-14. Amongst 186 global publications on Library 2.0, 151 had appeared in 74 journals during 2004-14. Among the 30 highly cited publications (citations per paper from 10 to 139), the largest number (14) came from the USA, 6 from the U.K., 3 from Spain, 2 each from India and China, and 1 each from Finland, Slovenia, Swaziland, Australia, Germany, Norway and Pakistan. This paper is a study of the LIS journals published by Emerald group of publications which originated online in the 21st century upto the year 2015. Five such journals include Journal of Enterprise Information Management (JEIM), Journal of Intellectual Capital(JIC), Online Information Review (OIR), Performance Measurement and Metrics (PMM) and Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society (JICES). Highest publication is by OIR and 2009 produced most articles followed by 2008. Research paper tops the list in all the five journals. Single authored papers are predominant followed by two authored papers. Authors from UK contribute maximum numbers of papers and most papers have been contributed from Brunel University, UK followed by University of Hawaii, USA. Authors repeat contributions to the same journal. No author among the top-ranking authors is found to be writing for any other journal among the five journals except Bar-Ilan J. In 2005 most citations are received in the three journals except OIR and JICES where articles published in 2009 received most citations. A six-authored paper in JEIM received most citations followed by a single authored paper in the JIC. The average article length mostly ranges from 16-20 pages in all the three journals except PMM and JICES where it ranges from 11-15 pages. 59 unique keywords appear in the journals and eight keywords are repetitive. The study analyses papers published in Journal of Advances in Library and Information Science (JALIS) using bibliometric techniques for the period of 2016 to 2020 (5 years). The study examines that, publication growth, degree of collaboration, authorship pattern of the articles and reference distribution. The study has analysed that the highest number of articles was published during the year of 2017 followed by 2016. The degree of collaboration ranges from 0.70 to 0.78 and its mean value is 0.74. The findings indicate that a total of 431 authors produced 243 articles with an average of 0.53 percentage of per author and majority of articles published by joint authors. Electronic Journal of Information System in Developing Countries (EJISDC) has already published a bibliometric study from 2000-2013, and this study is a further continuation of the pervious study from 2014-2021. The data retrieved from the Scopus database was analyzed through VOS viewer, biblioshiny, Microsoft Excel, and MS Access. This bibliometric study found the different aspects of the EJISDC, i.e., document types, publishing trends, authorship patterns, most productive countries, prolific authors, organizations, frequently used keywords, and country collaboration during 2014-21. The result found that total 346 publications having 1513 citation and most of the documents type was published research articles. The maximum publication was 51 in 2017 and received 313 citations in 2014. Authorship patterns showed that two author patterns produce maximum publications (142) with 666 citations. Heeks was the most prolific author in terms of paper publication (8 papers). South Africa and the University of Cape Town are at the top of the list to produce maximum articles during 2014-21. ICT4D was the most used keyword by the authors, and Tanzania is the top country to collaborate with other countries. Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) through its library technical implementation unit, especially in the sector of journal developers, has subscribed to numerous journals which have international reputation such as Sage, Oxford Journal, Emerald, Cambridge Journal, Springer Link, IEEE, Sage Research Method, ProQuest, and JSTOR. The existence of these journals are able to help the academic community in learning activities and in enriching the reference in order to create scientific papers, especially thesis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of understanding of students in the utilization of electronic journals, to find out what reference sources are used, and to analyze how big the utilization of electronic journals was as references for thesis writing by students in the Department of ECTE. This research utilized a quantitative research method. Respondents in this study were students in the ECTE Department who were currently working on their thesis. Data collection for this study was carried out by using observation techniques and using questionnaires related to understanding and utilization of electronic journals by ECTE students. The number of respondents taken was 47 students who were working on their thesis. And the data analysis was presented by descriptive percentages. The results showed that the level of understanding of students in the utilization of electronic journals was 40.38% at the good level, 50% at the moderate level and 9.62% at the poor level. Sources of reference used by students in research are electronic journals (41.97%), books (36.63%), legislation (7.8%) and internet sources (13.63%). The study addresses significant steps in the process, issues, and challenges in selecting and acquiring e-resources and points out the effects of strategic planning of e-resources in the Hansa Mehta library of MSU, Baroda. It also describes the technical requirements, license, and copyright issues. The paper defines in detail the steps taken by the library to enrich library e-resources and usage and throw light on librarians' decisions regarding their fundamental management. The paper is about Application of Technology Resources to Library Information Processing in Academic Libraries in Nigeria. The electronic age has made users search beyond print media while looking for information resources. Latest research work are sent across the world through electronic means and no serious researcher of this age ever depends solely on print media rather the use of internet, websites, e-mail etc are the language of the day. Functionally, university libraries of the current dispensation provide access to both print and electronic resources to serve users and to increase the visibility of their institutions, and as a measure of prestige. In other words, they must go beyond the border of print collection in information delivery. It must extend to computer resources and other non-print format. Introduction: The aim of this study is to compare the growth of research published in following six e-journals published from Pakistan during the period of 2006-2015. 1). Journal Surgery of Pakistan, 2). Pakistan Journal of Medical Research, 3). Pakistan Pediatric Journal, 4). Pakistan Journal of Ophthalmology, 5). Pakistan Heart Journal and 6). Journal of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences. Methodology: The data of published items of all targeted six Pakistani medical journals were downloaded from their respective websites and saved the required information in Microsoft Excel Sheet during January to May 2018 for statistical analysis. Number of published items, authors, gender-wise segregation of authors and authorship pattern were calculated. Results: Total 2133 research items published in 230 issues of six e-journals during 2006-2015 with an average of 9.27 articles per issue, 7949 authors contributed their research with an average of 3.72 authors per papers. Gender-wise distribution of authors showed that majority of authors (n=6022; 75.7%) were male while female authors counted 1921 (24.1%). Gender-wise distribution of first author revealed that the share of female authors were 28.2%. Bulk of research (n=1951; 91.4%) were produced by collaborative efforts. Conclusion: It is concluded that surgery and allied specialties is the preferred area of research and there is need to conduct more research on cardiology. This study has been designed to examine the digitalization of resources in academic libraries in Pakistan. The world continues its flow of digitalization through the internet such as people starting jobs online, online selling and purchasing businesses, online shares, and investment during the time of Coronavirus. Hence, the digitalization of libraries has no exemption. A purposive sampling technique has been employed to select 16 participants (8 students and 8 library professionals) from the academic library of the University of Gujrat. Further, an interview guide has been developed to conduct case studies. The data collection process takes place within ten working days. Similarly, the data has been presented as a thematic analysis and discussion has been made accordingly to conclude. The study findings conclude that academic libraries digitalize their resources for the smooth running of academic activities for the library patrons including AV aids, e-books, e-journals, online databases, online library services, e-resources, internal facilities, online discussion forums, online queries, and provisional material online. This paper reports an examination of effective serials management practices in some academic libraries in Niger state. The study specifically investigated the types of serial materials in the libraries. It also examined the acquisition methods as well as methods applied in organizing serial materials in the studied libraries. Challenges bedeviling effective management of serial information sources also form the objective. The study further made a review from different sources on management of serials in libraries. The population of the study consisted of twenty three (23) staff manning the serials units of the affected libraries. Questionnaire and observation check-list were used as the instruments for data collection. 23 copies of questionnaire and observation check-list were distributed, filled and completely (100%) returned for data analysis. Descriptive statistics of frequency and percentages was used for data analysis. The study revealed that Newspapers, magazines and academic journals are the major serial materials available in the academic libraries. Direct purchase from book vendors, Constant subscription of physical serials and online databases were the main methods applied in acquiring serials in the libraries. It discovered that shelving and shelf reading, carding among other were the organizational techniques adopted by the libraries. Paucity of funds, Inadequate ICT facilities as well as inadequate working tools was the factors bedeviling effective serials management in the libraries. The study thus recommended among others that adequate funds be allocated to the libraries, online subscription be enhanced, conducive working environment for library personnel, independent power sources be provided to the academic libraries. The main purpose of the paper is to study the publishing trends of the open access religious journals available in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The data were collected online from the Directory of Open Access Journals and quantitative method was applied for data analysis. The data were collected in December 2017 and later presented in tabular forms to reveal the findings. The findings show that 119 religious journals are registered in the DOAJ, published from the 27 countries by 114 publishing agencies in 14 languages. The maximum number of journals (21, 17.65%) is published from Indonesia in the English language (79, 66.39%) during the 2nd decade (2010-2017) of the 21st century. This paper aimed to explore the awareness and usage of online resources by the faculty members of Vivekanandha Arts and Science College for Women, Salem. The current study is rooted in primary data which were collected from the faculty members who are working in different departments of Vivekanandha Arts and Science College for Women. A total of 200 well structured and designed questionnaires were dispersed among the faculty members and we received only 179 filled questionnaires were returned out of 200 sample of population and the total response rate was 89.5%. The results of the study was observed and found the maximum number of 112 users (62.57%) was male distribution. Seventy percent of the faculty members were under the age group between 26 and 50 and 66.48 percent of the respondents were from rural area. It is observed the huge proportion of (42.46%) 76 faculty members were comes under Assistant professors and they ranked the first. It is noted the major portion of 91 (50.84%) faculty members were using the Internet in the central library for preparing research work. This study has recommended that more electronic journals and databases should be subscribed to, that awareness and training programmes for accessing electronic resources to be implemented, and the digital library infrastructure facilities to be enhanced. This paper attempts to do a quantitative analysis of open access journals in the field of agriculture and allied sciences indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) which indexes over 17,200 peer-reviewed open access journals covering all branches of knowledge published by 130 countries in 80 languages. The study revealed that out of 17,282 open access journals indexed by the DOAJ (as on 31.12.2021), 458 journals (2.65%) are publishing articles related to agriculture and allied sciences. Brazil and Indonesia are the top countries publishing higher number of OA journals in agriculture and allied sciences with 74 titles each (16.16%) followed United Kingdom with 26 titles (5.68%), Out of 458 journals, 179 journals (39.08%) are published in English language. About 62.28% (285 journals) are published in monolingual followed by bilingual (124 journals; 7.07%), trilingual (44 journals; 9.61%), quadrilingual (3 journals; 0.65%) and each journal in pentalingual and multilingual. Creative Common licensing is followed by 447 (97.60%) journals. While 230 journals (50.22%) permit the authors to hold complete copyright 228 journals (49.78%) restrict the same. Double blind peer review is followed by 243 journals (53.06%) and 'Blind peer review' by 115 journals (25.11%). While 272 journals (59.39%) don't collect article processing charges (APC) from the authors, 186 journals (40.61%) collect APC. Most of the journal publishers i.e. 119 (25.98%) take 9-12 weeks for publication and 3 journals take more than 52 weeks for the same. Bibliometrics can help libraries to understand their local community's journal usage patterns, and to identify the most influential journals to subscribe to. Collection development can be informed by bibliometrics data on both the relative influence of journals in the worldwide community, and on the publication and citation patterns. The study analysis the CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians from 2010 to 2019. On the study period, 419 articles published and received 2,52,572 citations. It is noticed that citation per year is 25257.2 and citation per paper calculated as 602.8. The cites per authors noticed as 69859. It is clear that paper per authors is 231.3 and authors per paper are 2.61. H index calculated for 2010-2019 as 114 and G index calculated as 419. The novel Coronovirus pandemic has made us to use the digital resources due to closure of colleges across the globe. Librarians and users all over the world have had to adjust to new ways of work and life. The study explores the e-resources provided by N-LIST in the form of ejournals and e-books from various reputed publishers included in the consortium. The data has been gathered from the library users (students, research scholars and the faculty) of the academic colleges across Goa through online Google form. From the study, it was found that N-LIST eresources have been playing a crucial role in satisfying the information needs of the users throughout the Covid-19 pandemic era. The study shows that N-LIST e-resources has significantly contributed to the demands of the college library users as the vast collection of eresources can be accessed from anywhere and at any time through remote access. This paper tries to shed light on the importance of having N-LIST e-resources, the crucial role played during the pandemic era in fulfilling the information needs of the users and the satisfaction level of the users. Google Scholar combines versions of what should be the same item into a single record with multiple versions listed and a common citation rate for all versions. However, these versions are not always the same document. A study on the citations of theses and dissertations found unusually high citation rates for some titles. On closer examination, these titles had versions that were other formats, sometimes with additional authors. A close examination of highly cited theses and dissertations revealed that nearly half of the titles were considered versions of other different formats, often much shorter and sometimes multi-authored journal articles. The primary purpose of this work is to examine the utilization of internet resources for learning and research among students of Taraba state university. This study, which is anchored on the uses and gratification adopted a survey among 350 students. The students perceived that the lack of digital readiness among their staff and institution, the absence of electronic library for easy accessibility to journals from the scientific database, and inefficient cybercafe and internet facility within their university settings were the main issues discouraging the utilization of the internet within their institutions. Yet, they still strive to find ways through self-organization, resilience and resourcefulness to make use of the internet to facilitate their studies. Most of them stated that they use their smartphone/handsets to access the internet through subscription from other internet providers. Google and Google Scholar was found to be the most preferred search engine. The collection consists of open-access journals, electronic theses and dissertations, audio files and transcripts, maps, newspapers, photographs, manuscripts and rare books, and historical materials. These objects are the vital resource for members of the academic community. In this study, totally 600 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents among the respondents in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. Out of 600, 534 questionnaires were returned by the respondents. It resulted that the Preferred Search Strategies to Use the EResources that the respondents have given first priority to the e-resources through 'Advanced Search'. The study investigates the availability, accessibility and utilization of electronic information resources by undergraduates of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted for this study. A population of six thousand three hundred and forty (6340) undergraduates were involved in the study. A total number of Three hundred and seventeen 317 undergraduates were drawn as sample size through stratified sampling techniques. Questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. Two hundred and seventy 274 four dally filed questionnaires were received, given an overall response rate of 86.49%. Data were collected and analyzed using descriptive and correlation analyses. Pear Correlation Coefficient was the statistical analysis adopted to test the hypothesis under study at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of this study revealed that availability, accessibility and utilization of electronic information resources significantly influenced the utilization of electronic information resources in LAUTECH Library (Adj. R-squared 474, F(3) =41.985, p =000). The findings further revealed individual significant influence of availability and accessibility of EIR on its utilization. Each of availability and accessibility had relative influences on utilization of EIR. EIR were available, accessible and utilized in LAUTECH library. The study concluded that availability and accessibility of e-resources lead to EIR utilization. It is recommended that adequate budgetary allocation should be given to LAUTECH library for subscription to online databases and acquisition of e-books and e-journals. Purpose: The present study aimed to assess and review the quality of journals from the field of nuclear physics based on some selected high-quality bibliometrics indicators, namely Journal Impact Factor (JIF), Eigenfactor Score (ES), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) and H5-index. Methodology: Nineteen (19) nuclear physics journals from the Web of science core collection and Scopus database have been retrieved and tabulated under each mentioned indicator as per the ranks and values for the analysis. The analysis has done by using IBM SPSS (21.0). Findings: Bivariate correlation coefficient have been considered, a high Pearson's (r) observed between JIF and SJR (r = 0.957) while the lowest observed between JIF and ES (r = 0.033). Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (ρ) found very high between JIF and SJR (ρ =0.963) and very low between JIF and ES (ρ = 0.281). Thus, JIF and SJR show a strong correlation with each other. Limitation: The journals considered for assessment only from the field of nuclear physics indexed in Web of science core collection, hence only 19 journals have found for the evaluation. Originality/Value: This study will be helpful for the researchers and academicians from nuclear physics, looking for highly cited quality journals to publish their scientific research paper, as well as for the librarians/information scientists looking for high-quality collection development. Digital Resource awareness was studied among Medical Deemed University Libraries students in Maharashtra. The study used a questionnaire to investigate four Medical Deemed University Libraries of Maharashtra. This study examines digital resource utilization, purpose, frequency, locality, and preference. The study indicated that Maharashtra Medical Deemed University Libraries users were moderately aware of digital medical resources and used them mainly for the education, Learning, and knowledge updating. Students use e-journals, standards, reports, patents, and trade reports. This survey explores how Maharashtra Medical Deemed University Libraries students use electronic resources. Customers of Medical Deemed University Libraries have difficulties using digital resources because of a lack of training or orientation, slow internet, an energy crisis or load shedding, a lack of printing facilities, the lack of full-text access to the majority of journals, a lack of awareness, information overload, and insufficient digital resource consumption. However, these factors are not statistically different from low levels of satisfaction and low internet speeds. The findings improve digital library services and resources. The results may enhance digital library services and virtual culture in designated medical Deemed University libraries, notably in Maharashtra. The present study is based on the citation pattern of the articles published for the period 2005-2014 of the Library Philosophy and Practice, E-Journal. 1180 articles are published in the journal during 2005-2014. Highest numbers (198) of articles were published in 2011. The EJournal contained 20978 references for the study period of which 15518 are documentary sources citations and 5460 are non-documentary source citations. This is because of the high cost of these materials. In Nigeria the situation is worsened by the high exchange rate of the Naira to foreign currencies. Electronic journals have come as a better, cheaper alternative to the print format. Knowledge seekers and information professionals need to be familiar with the use of this novel resource format. This research explored the availability and use of electronic journals (e-journals) in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka amongst academics, including librarians. A structured questionnaire was used to elisit information from respondents. Descriptive statistics was used to present the data for discussion. Findings showed that majority of the sampled population were well aware of the existence of e-journals. 93.13% of the respondents have used them to source information pertaining to their research and studies. Internet-ready computers provided by the university; cybercafés in and around the University and personal laptop computers with wireless access were sources of access. Respondents face varied challenges against smooth access to e-resources. The university library is poised to tackle many of the challenge in order to give their user unrestricted access. The study investigated the usage of university library-based electronic resources by undergraduates at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, and Ondo State. Nigeria. The study design was a descriptive survey. Data was collected through questionnaires. The study population comprises undergraduates who visited the university electronic library during the 2020/2021 academic session. One hundred and fifty (150) copies of the questionnaire were administered, and 130 were retrieved giving a response rate of 86.7%. The data were analyzed using frequency count and percentages. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the respondents were female. The majority of the respondents use university library electronic resources twice a week, class assignments and preparation of class seminars were the primary purposes of university-based electronic resources usage, and access to comprehensive information and access to current data/information were the main reasons for a university library based electronic resources usage. Interrupted power supply and slow access speed were the significant challenges militating against university library-based electronic resource usage. It is recommended that the University library should acquire electronic resources that are relevant to the student's needs in order to attract library users and provide effective information delivery, provision of solar power system that will supply electricity round the clock to the university library, and increase in internet bandwidth to provide fast internet services among other. This study assessed the level of availability of ICT facilities and hindrances to the adequacy of ICT facilities for the provision of e-resources services in university libraries in Southwest Nigeria. Information and Communications Technology facilities are indispensable tools in the new information and digital environment and e-resources services provision are hampered in academic libraries without them. A descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire administered to 12 seasoned librarians drawn from 12 public university libraries, 11 usable responses to the questionnaire were received. Findings revealed the availability of most ICT facilities was varied and to a high level. Computers, internet and server, access to alternative supply of power using a power generator, electronic databases, library software, WIFI, LAN, e-journal, e-mail and CD-ROMs are some of the facilities that were available to a high level. Technological factors that hinder adequate ICT facilities include, low Internet connectivity bandwidth, unreliable telecommunication network, expensive hardware and software, expensive ICT facilities, unstable power supply and inadequate ICT facilities for networking. Managerial factors causing hindrance include, insufficient funding, poor policy on ICT adoption, inadequate ICT budgeting and lack of good maintenance of ICT facilities. The study concludes that there is need for authorities in charge of the concerned university libraries to revisit the policies being put in place and come up with better measures that can ensure high level of ICT facilities provision sustainability in the university libraries. It was recommended that priority attention should be given to adequate budget allocation for the proper funding of ICT facilities in university libraries especially since they are highly beneficial but capital intensive. This study was designed to examine the utilization of library resources by lecturers in Nigerian tertiary institutions using lecturers Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) as case study. The specific objectives of the study is to find out the level of availability of library materials in Nigerian university, and determine the extent of use of the materials by lecturers. It is also to find out the factors that impede lecturers use of the library. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study consisted all the full time lecturers made up of 536 females and 298 males lecturers of ESUT numbering 834 as at the time of the study. Purposive sampling techniques was used to draw a sample 153 (102 female and 51 male) lecturers from the population. Five research questions guided the study. Frequency counts and mean scores were used to answer the research questions. Findings from the study revealed that there are many library resources such as books, journals, bulletin, transactions and proceedings, research monographs, research reports patents, technical bulletin, price lists, data sheets, dissertations, indexes/abstracts, biographies, gazetteers, dictionaries, and encyclopedias amongst others, and that lecturers use the library mainly for consultation of books and reference materials. They also use it for research purpose and borrowing of books. A major findings was also that lecturers utilized books more than any other source of information. A number of recommendations were put forward for improvement of library use but the most prominent suggestion was that more up to date and relevant information sources should be acquired for the library, and that the library should be properly funded. The modern epoch is marked by an information and knowledge revolution. Electronic materials are now available to libraries in a variety of formats. As a result of technology advancements and higher expectations in teaching and learning, 21st-century classrooms demand a lot from both teachers and students. Most parents nowadays purchase (smartphones, tablets, or laptops) for their children without realizing the educational benefits of these devices in allowing access to online learning materials. Electronic journals from libraries have proven to be quite useful to the growing number of students who have access to the internet. This is possible because to 21st-century technology, but it's concerning because there isn't much research on the subject in Nigeria. As a result, the impact of library electronic journals on students' academic achievement in physics was investigated in this study. This study used a quantitative research approach using a simple repeated measures strategy. The Physics Achievement Test (= 0.891) was used to collect the data, which had been rigorously validated and trial-tested. A mixed-design repeated measures analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. Students' physics grades were shown to be significantly improved when they read electronic publications from the library. The study investigates accessibility and utilization of information resources by academic staff of Federal University Gusau amid telecommunication shut down in Zamafara state. The researchers adopted quantitative research method using cross sectional survey design. Simple random sampling was adopted for the study and the Sample size of 169 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan table. Data was collected using questionnaire and the data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of statistical package for social science (SPSS). The finding revealed that majority of the respondents strongly agreed that visiting libraries and offline databases in the electronic library served as opportunity of accessing information during the internet shut down in the state. The study further found that books materials, newspaper and journal are the available and most utilized resources by the academic staff of the university during the shutdown. Similarly, the study found out that information accessed and utilized by the staff during the period was for manly lecture note preparation, research purpose, knowledge sharing and personal communication. the study also revealed that the staff encountered some challenges while accessing and utilizing the information during the period that include time constraint, insufficient information richness of the alternative source compared to the internet, poor personal communication, inadequate information for preparing lecture note and inadequate information for research. A study was undertaken to examine undergraduate students' skills in Information literacy among undergraduate students at Mzumbe University by referring to the utilization of subscribed eresources by the university library. The objective of this study was to investigate the information literacy levels among undergraduate students. Specifically, the study sought to find out how undergraduate students identify their information needs, to examine how undergraduate students evaluated the retrieved information, to find out how undergraduate students cite and reference information sources and the kind and extent of usage of subscribed e-resources in the university. The study used a mixed method approach design using cross-sectional and case study. The study distributed 210 questionnaires to undergraduate students using stratified sampling followed by systematic random sampling to select individual students in year 1, 2 and 3 from faculty of law, faculty of social sciences and faculty of science and technology. 150 questionnaires were filled correctly and returned making a return rate of 71%. Data were analyzed using SPSS software V.16. The study found that most students (84.7%) knew how to identify information they retrieved through different tools. Moreover, a greater number of respondents (62.7%) had the ability to evaluate their retrieved information using internet domain. Also, quite a good number of them (74.7%) were skilled in terms of citations and referencing using APA style. In terms of awareness and utilization of subscribed e-resources, 76% of respondents were found to be aware and identify e-resources subscribed by the library using reference resources, 55% use article databases, 64% use search engines and 50% use catalogue. From the study findings, it was plausibly concluded that the majority of the undergraduate students are information literate when it comes to information identification, evaluation and a few had little knowledge on citations and referencing. In terms of usage of eresources, it was evident that few students use subscribed e-resources, something that can be attributed to low awareness and incompetency in the search process as well as low bandwidth. The study recommends that information literacy should be integrated into the research method course that is offered by every department and school. Moreover, the acquisition librarians from outside of Lahore were contacted via phone call to understand and discuss the collection development process in their libraries. Findings: The study findings revealed that there is no systematic written policy for assessment, selection, evaluation and deselection of library material at the universities libraries of Pakistan. Even, the acquisition process of books in universities libraries vary from university to university and even province to province. However, the proposed collection development policy revealed that the automatic receiving of books and other library materials via gifts, donations, exchanging library materials, resource sharing, and subscribing memberships of other organizations will be helpful to enhance the library collection and also reduce the cost to purchase the library materials. As the life cycle of information products has become increasingly digital from “cradle to grave,” the nature of electronic information management has dramatically changed. These changes have brought new strategies and methods as well as new issues and challenges. At the bottom line the services are increasingly delivered to a desktop from distributed publishers or information providers. Information organizations act either as primary information providers or as brokers between the user and the primary service provider. Hence, the study examines the collection management and utilization of e-resources by postgraduate students in University of Ibadan. Descriptive survey design was employed for this study and the study population consisted of 312 postgraduate students in University of Ibadan. Also, the study adopted both qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection. A multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the sample of the study from 3 faculties (Arts, Education and Science) using a sampling fraction of 10%. Questionnaire was the instruments used for data collection from respondents. The questionnaire was analysed using simple frequency for research questions while content analysis was used for analyzing the In-depth interview conducted. The result of the findings revealed that 100% of the respondent indicated that on monthly basis acquisition of e-resources was done through subscription, 85.3% stated that quarterly the University of Ibadan purchase e-resources while 56.1% of the respondents believe that on yearly basis the acquisition could be done through consortia while some of the respondents believe that on monthly basis, acquisition of e-resources is done through open internet sources. On the accessibility of e-resources, 56.1% stated that they accessed e-resources through the library dedicated computers while 70.5% strong agreed that they accessed e-resources in their library through their personal computers, on the same note, 64.1% stated that the university ICT centre has been their source of accessibility to e-resources in the university. On the frequency of acquiring e-resources, showed that majority 56.1% of the respondents of this study revealed that e-journal on weekly interval, while on the daily basis, 85.6% revealed that they use e-portal. In addition, 70.5% revealed that Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is acquired monthly, Maps was acquired quarterly in the university library. In conclusion, the purpose for using e-resources in the university revealed that 56.1% agreed that e-resources were used for assignment, while 70.5% agreed that it was used for classwork, it was all agreed that e-resources is used as supplement for study notes, on the same note 70.8% strongly agreed that e-resources were used for project consultation, On the same vein, 80.8% strongly agreed that e-resources is used during Theses writing. It is however concluded that The University Library should increase bandwidth and online journal subscriptions, seeking more funds to do so.
