Evidence indicates that nonselective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are safe when used in low doses for short periods, and patients should avoid taking it for more than ten days unless directed by the health care provider. All NSAIDs are found to increase the risk of heart failure in patients with hypertension, diabetes or renal impairment because of sodium and water retention.
