Abstract: The article presents a study investigating the association between the maternal methylation status to the risk of congenital heart diseases (CHD) in the west part of Netherlands. In accordance to the study, it is noted that plasma total homocysteine is significantly dissimilar between the total case group and the nonisolated cases as compared with controls. Based on the data, it is analyzed that the maternal hyperhomocysteinemia is a risk factor for bearing a child with CHD.
