Abstract

The article describes the case of a 64-year-old HIV-positive white man diagnosed with posterior unilateral uveitis treated with systemic corticosteroids. Vitreous polymerase chain reaction found an aberrant band for herpes viruses, which proved to be human herpes virus-6 by repeated polymerase chain reactions. Patient outcome is clearly stated in the article.
