The article discusses the elaborations and future directions of clinical model for mental health care industry. It highlights the significant of daily stressors and direct exposure concerning mental health status during exposure to war related violence. It also emphasizes the original model discussed by researchers and practitioners during their research of conflict and post conflict settings in 2010.

The article presents a study which determines the daily stressors that affect the youth in eastern Sri Lanka using mixed methods approach. The study uses the Children's Daily Stressor Scale (CDSS) to assess the relative contribution of the daily stressors, disaster exposure and war to the psychosocial and mental health of the youth. The result of the study shows that the direct exposure to stress and disaster are not the most crucial determinant of mental health.

The article focuses on the recommendations to enhance the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings epidemiological assessments. It states that the IASC assessments have limited functions including the narrow focus on post traumatic stress disorder, and failure to distinguish between distress reactions and actual disorder. It mentions that the recommendations would be of great help in assessing mental health.
