Abstract

The article describes three cases of exercise-induced heatstroke and one cardiac arrest, to which hyperthermia may have contributed. It was found that the prevailing environmental conditions experienced by the cyclists in cases 1, 2 and 3 were warm, but examinations suggest that these athletes were not exercising sufficient vigor for long period leading to their development of heatstroke. The runner in case 4 ran slowly in mild conditions and did not experienced progressive heat accumulation.
