The article cites a research study on the relationship of performance variables and anthropometric measurements on baseball ability in youth baseball players. Under the study, ball speeds in pitching and batting were recorded and kinetic energies of the pitched and hit balls were calculated. The study shows how certain specific physical performance tests and body characteristics are associated with high achievement in the performance of pitching and batting.
