The processing of Fe-Ni alloys by powder injection moulding is well-established, but it is known that the presence of nickel effects sintering behaviour. Haorong Zhang and Randall M. German, of the Center for Innovative Sintered Products at Penn State University, untangle the effects of nickel concentration and the powder morphology on the sintering behaviour and mechanical properties of these alloys.
