The article provides information on the life and works of Russian pianist Rosa Tamarkina. In 1932, Tamarkina was selected as one of about 15 musically prodigious boys and girls to be admitted to the inaugural class of the Moscow Conservatory's Central Music School in Moscow, Russia. At age 16, she was chosen as the youngest member of the Soviet team to compete in the third International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition held in 1937.
