Hypertension is associated with gut bacterial dysbiosis and gut pathology in animal models and people. Butyrate-producing gut bacteria are decreased in hypertension. RNA-seq analysis of gut colonic organoids prepared from spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and normotensive Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats was used to test the hypothesis that impaired interactions between the gut microbiome and gut epithelium are involved and that these would be remediated with butyrate supplementation. Gene expressions in immune responses including antigen presentation and antiviral pathways were decreased in the gut epithelium of the SHR in organoids and confirmed in vivo; these deficits were corrected by butyrate supplementation. Deficits in gene expression driving epithelial proliferation and differentiation were also observed in SHR. Ultra-precision measurement systems are important for semiconductor manufacturing processes. In a phase grating sensing alignment (PGA) system, the measurement accuracy largely depends on the intensity of the diffraction signal and its signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), both of which are associated with the grating structure. Although an equally segmented grating structure could increase the signal of a high odd order, it could also strengthen the signals at the zeroth and even orders which are the main contributors of stray light. This paper focuses on the practical problem of differently responding diffraction orders but in one grating structure. An analytical relationship has been established between the diffraction efficiency and the segment structure of phase grating. According to this analytic model, we then propose a design method to increase the diffraction signal at high odd orders and, meanwhile, to decrease it at the zeroth and even orders. The proposed method provides a fast and effective way to obtain the globally optimal grating structure in the valid scope. Furthermore, the design examples are also verified by means of numerical simulation tool–rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) software. Passive radiative cooling, which cools an item without any electrical input, has drawn much attention in recent years. In many radiative coolers, silica is widely used due to its high emissivity in the mid-infrared region. However, the performance of a bare silica film is poor due to the occurrence of an emitting dip (about 30% emissivity) in the atmospheric transparent window (8–13 μm). In this work, we demonstrate that the emissivity of silica film can be improved by sculpturing structures on its surface. According to our simulation, over 90% emissivity can be achieved at 8–13 μm when periodical silica deep grating is applied on a plane silica film. With the high emissivity at the atmospheric transparent window and the extremely low absorption in the solar spectrum, the structure has excellent cooling performance (about 100 W/m2). The enhancement is because of the coupling between the incident light with the surface modes. Compared with most present radiative coolers, the proposed cooler is much easier to be fabricated. However, 1-D gratings are sensitive to incident polarization, which leads to a degradation in cooling performance. To solve this problem, we further propose another radiative cooler based on a silica cylinder array. The new cooler's insensitivity to polarization angle and its average emissivity in the atmospheric transparent window is about 98%. Dysregulation of messenger RNA (mRNA) processing—in particular mRNA splicing—is a hallmark of cancer. Compared to normal cells, cancer cells frequently present aberrant mRNA splicing, which promotes cancer progression and treatment resistance. This hallmark provides opportunities for developing new targeted cancer treatments. Splicing of precursor mRNA into mature mRNA is executed by a dynamic complex of proteins and small RNAs called the spliceosome. Spliceosomes are part of the supraspliceosome, a macromolecular structure where all co-transcriptional mRNA processing activities in the cell nucleus are coordinated. Here we review the biology of the mRNA splicing machinery in the context of other mRNA processing activities in the supraspliceosome and present current knowledge of its dysregulation in lung cancer. In addition, we review investigations to discover therapeutic targets in the spliceosome and give an overview of inhibitors and modulators of the mRNA splicing process identified so far. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a hematological malignancy originating from B- or T-lymphoid progenitor cells. Recent studies have shown that redox dysregulation caused by overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) has an important role in the development and progression of leukemia. The application of pro-oxidant therapy, which targets redox dysregulation, has achieved satisfactory results in alleviating the conditions of and improving the survival rate for patients with ALL. However, drug resistance and side effects are two major challenges that must be addressed in pro-oxidant therapy. Oxidative stress can activate a variety of antioxidant mechanisms to help leukemia cells escape the damage caused by pro-oxidant drugs and develop drug resistance. Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are extremely sensitive to oxidative stress due to their low levels of differentiation, and the use of pro-oxidant drugs inevitably causes damage to HSCs and may even cause severe bone marrow suppression. In this article, we reviewed research progress regarding the generation and regulation of ROS in normal HSCs and ALL cells as well as the impact of ROS on the biological behavior and fate of cells. An in-depth understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of redox homeostasis in normal and malignant HSCs is conducive to the formulation of rational targeted treatment plans to effectively reduce oxidative damage to normal HSCs while eradicating ALL cells. Peroxisomes play essential roles in diverse cellular metabolism functions, and their dynamic homeostasis is maintained through the coordination of peroxisome biogenesis and turnover. Pexophagy, selective autophagic degradation of peroxisomes, is a major mechanism for removing damaged and/or superfluous peroxisomes. Dysregulation of pexophagy impairs the physiological functions of peroxisomes and contributes to the progression of many human diseases. However, the mechanisms and functions of pexophagy in mammalian cells remain largely unknown compared to those in yeast. This review focuses on mammalian pexophagy and aims to advance the understanding of the roles of pexophagy in human health and diseases. Increasing evidence shows that ubiquitination can serve as a signal for pexophagy, and ubiquitin-binding receptors, substrates, and E3 ligases/deubiquitinases involved in pexophagy have been described. Alternatively, pexophagy can be achieved in a ubiquitin-independent manner. We discuss the mechanisms of these ubiquitin-dependent and ubiquitin-independent pexophagy pathways and summarize several inducible conditions currently used to study pexophagy. This paper considers the estimation of ruin probability in an insurance risk model with stochastic premium income. We first show that the ruin probability can be approximated by the complex Fourier series (CFS) expansion method. Then, we construct a nonparametric estimator of the ruin probability and analyze its convergence. The use of very-high-resolution images to extract urban, suburban and rural roads has important application value. However, it is still a problem to effectively extract the road area occluded by roadside tree canopy or high-rise buildings to maintain the integrity of the extracted road area, the smoothness of the sideline and the connectivity of the road network. This paper proposes an innovative Cascaded Attention DenseUNet (CADUNet) semantic segmentation model by embedding two attention modules, such as global attention and core attention modules, in the DenseUNet framework. First, a set of cascaded global attention modules are introduced to obtain the contextual information of the road; secondly, a set of cascaded core attention modules are embedded to ensure that the road information is transmitted to the greatest extent among the dense blocks in the network, and further assist the global attention module in acquiring multi-scale road information, thereby improving the connectivity of the road network while restoring the integrity of the road area shaded by the tree canopy and high-rise buildings. Based on binary cross entropy, an adaptive loss function is proposed for network parameter tuning. Experiments on the Massachusetts road dataset and the DeepGlobe-CVPR 2018 road dataset show that this semantic segmentation model can effectively extract the road area shaded by tree canopy and improve the connectivity of the road network. A magnetically-guided capsule endoscope, embedding flexible force sensors, is designed to measure the capsule-tissue interaction force. The flexible force sensor is composed of eight force-sensitive elements surrounding the internal permanent magnet (IPM). The control of interaction force acting on the intestinal wall can reduce patient's discomfort and maintain the magnetic coupling between the external permanent magnet (EPM) and the IPM during capsule navigation. A flexible force sensor can achieve this control. In particular, by analyzing the signals of the force sensitive elements, we propose a method to recognize the status of the motion of the magnetic capsule, and provide corresponding formulas to evaluate whether the magnetic capsule follows the motion of the external driving magnet. Accuracy of the motion recognition in Ex Vivo tests reached 94% when the EPM was translated along the longitudinal axis. In addition, a method is proposed to realign the EPM and the IPM before the loss of their magnetic coupling. Its translational error, rotational error, and runtime are 7.04 ± 0.71 mm, 3.13 ± 0.47 ∘ , and 11.4 ± 0.39 s, respectively. In this paper, we investigate the problem of aligning multiple deployed camera into one united coordinate system for cross-camera information sharing and intercommunication. However, the difficulty is greatly increased when faced with large-scale scene under chaotic camera deployment. To address this problem, we propose a UAV-assisted wide area multi-camera space alignment approach based on spatiotemporal feature map. It employs the great global perception of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to meet the challenge from wide-range environment. Concretely, we first present a novel spatiotemporal feature map construction approach to represent the input aerial and ground monitoring data. In this way, the motion consistency across view is well mined to overcome the great perspective gap between the UAV and ground cameras. To obtain the corresponding relationship between their pixels, we propose a cross-view spatiotemporal matching strategy. Through solving relative relationship with the above air-to-ground point correspondences, all ground cameras can be aligned into one surveillance space. The proposed approach was evaluated in both simulation and real environments qualitatively and quantitatively. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our system can successfully align all ground cameras with very small pixel error. The water-level fluctuation zone (WLFZ) of the Three Gorges Reservoir is a serious landslide-prone area. However, current remote sensing methods for landslide mapping and detection in the WLFZ are insufficient because of difficulties in data acquisition and lack of facade information. We proposed a novel shipborne mobile photogrammetry approach for 3D mapping and landslide detection in the WLFZ for the first time, containing a self-designed shipborne hardware platform and a data acquisition and processing workflow. To evaluate the accuracy and usability of the resultant 3D models in the WLFZ, four bundle block adjustment (BBA) control configurations were developed and adopted. In the four configurations, the raw Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, the raw GNSS data and fixed camera height, the GCPs extracted from aerial photogrammetric products, and the mobile Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) point cloud were used. A comprehensive accuracy assessment of the 3D models was conducted, and the comparative results indicated the BBA with GCPs extracted from the aerial photogrammetric products was the most practical configuration (RMSE 2.00 m in plane, RMSE 0.46 m in height), while the BBA with the mobile LiDAR point cloud as a control provided the highest georeferencing accuracy (RMSE 0.59 m in plane, RMSE 0.40 m in height). Subsequently, the landslide detection ability of the proposed approach was compared with multisource remote sensing images through visual interpretation, which showed that the proposed approach provided the highest landslide detection rate and unique advantages in small landslide detection as well as in steep terrains due to the more detailed features of landslides provided by the shipborne 3D models. Since its first identification as a cardiac transverse tubule (t-tubule) protein, followed by the cloning of the cardiac isoform responsible for t-tubule membrane microdomain formation, cardiac bridging integrator 1 (cBIN1) and its organized microdomains have emerged as a key mechanism in maintaining normal beat-to-beat heart contraction and relaxation. The abnormal remodeling of cBIN1-microdomains occurs in stressed and diseased cardiomyocytes, contributing to the pathophysiology of heart failure. Due to the homeostatic turnover of t-tubule cBIN1-microdomains via microvesicle release into the peripheral circulation, plasma cBIN1 can be assayed as a liquid biopsy of cardiomyocyte health. A new blood test cBIN1 score (CS) has been developed as a dimensionless inverse index derived from plasma cBIN1 concentration with a diagnostic and prognostic power for clinical outcomes in stable ambulatory patients with heart failure with reduced or preserved ejection fraction (HFrEF or HFpEF). Recent evidence further indicates that exogenous cBIN1 introduced by adeno-associated virus 9-based gene therapy can rescue cardiac contraction and relaxation in failing hearts. The therapeutic potential of cBIN1 gene therapy is enormous given its ability to rescue cardiac inotropy and provide lusitropic protection in the meantime. Importance: The high incidence of major depressive episodes during interferon-α (IFN-α) therapy is considered the most powerful supportive evidence for the inflammation theory of depression. As the kynurenine pathway plays an important role connecting inflammation and depression, it is plausible to investigate this pathway for predictive genetic markers for IFN-α-induced depression. Methods: In this prospective case-control study, we assessed 291 patients with chronic hepatitis C viral infection taking IFN-α therapy and analyzed the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in genes in the kynurenine pathway. Our case group contained patients who developed IFN-α-induced depression during the treatment, and others were defined as the control group. Genomic DNA was extracted from leukocytes in the peripheral blood and analyzed by Affymetrix TWB array. We first tested allelic, dominant, and recessive models on each of our SNPs using Fisher's exact test. We then conducted 5000 gene-wide max(T) permutations based on the best model of each SNP to provide strong gene-wide family-wise error rate control. Finally, we preformed logistic regression for the significant SNPs acquired in previous procedures, with sex and education level as covariates to build predictive models. Additional haplotype analyses were conducted with Haploview 4.2 to investigate the combining effect of multiple significant SNPs within a gene. Results: With sex and education level as covariates, rs8082252 (p = 0.0015, odds ratio = 2.716), rs8082142 (p = 0.0031, odds ratio = 2.499) in arylformamidase (AFMID), and rs12477181 (p = 0.0004, odds ratio = 0.3478) in kynureninase (KYNU) were significant in logistic regression models with dominant modes of inheritance. Haplotype analyses showed the two significant SNPs in AFMID to be in the same haploblock and highly correlated (r2 = 0.99). There were two significant haplotypes (by the sequence of rs8082252, rs8082142): AT (χ2 = 7.734, p = 0.0054) and GC (χ2 = 6.874, p = 0.0087). Conclusions: This study provided supportive evidence of the involvement of the kynurenine pathway in IFN-α-induced depression. SNPs in this pathway were also predictive of this disease. High-quality Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) time series are essential in studying vegetation phenology, dynamic monitoring, and global change. Gap filling is the most important issue in reconstructing NDVI time series from satellites with high spatial resolution, e.g., the Landsat series and Chinese GaoFen-1/6 series. Due to the sparse revisit frequencies of high-resolution satellites, traditional reconstruction approaches face the challenge of dealing with large gaps in raw NDVI time series data. In this paper, a climate incorporated gap-filling (CGF) method is proposed for the reconstruction of Landsat historical NDVI time series data. The CGF model considers the relationship of the NDVI time series and climate conditions between two adjacent years. Climate variables, including downward solar shortwave radiation, precipitation, and temperature, are used to characterize the constrain factors of vegetation growth. Radial basis function networks (RBFNs) are used to link the NDVI time series between two adjacent years with variabilities in climatic conditions. An RBFN predicted a background NDVI time series in the target year, and the observed NDVI values in this year were used to adjust the predicted NDVI time series. Finally, the NDVI time series were recursively reconstructed from 2018 to 1986. The experiments were performed in a heterogeneous region in the Qilian Mountains. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately reconstruct and generate continuous 30 m 8-day NDVI time series using Landsat observations. The CGF method outperforms traditional time series reconstruction methods (e.g., the harmonic analysis of time series (HANTS) and Savitzky-Golay (SG) filter methods) when the raw time series is contaminated with large gaps, which widely exist in Landsat images. Starting from the enantiopure precursors, a pair of chiral macrocyclic arenes named helic[1]triptycene[3]arenes were conveniently synthesized. The circular dichroism (CD) spectra of the enantiomeric macrocyclic arenes exhibited mirror images, and the X-ray single crystal structures confirmed their absolute conformations as well. Moreover, the macrocyclic arenes showed strong complexation with secondary ammonium and primary ammonium salts containing aminoindan groups. In particular, the chiral macrocyclic arenes exhibited enantioselective recognition ability towards the chiral secondary ammonium salts containing aminoindan groups with an enantioselective ratio up to 3.89. Eye movement has become a new behavioral feature for biometric authentication. In the eye movement-based authentication methods that use temporal features and artificial design features, the required duration of eye movement recordings are too long to be applied. Therefore, this study aims at using eye movement recordings with shorter duration to realize authentication. And we give out a reasonable eye movement recording duration that should be less than 12 s, referring to the changing pattern of the deviation degree between the gaze point and the stimulus point on the screen. In this study, the temporal motion features of the gaze points and the spatial distribution features of the saccade are using to represent the personal identity. Two datasets are constructed for the experiments, including 5 s and 12 s of eye movement recordings. On the datasets constructed in this paper, the open-set authentication results show that the Equal Error Rate of our proposed methods can reach 10.62% when recording duration is 12 s and 12.48% when recording duration is 5 s. The closed-set authentication results show that the Equal Error Rate of our proposed methods can reach 5.25% when recording duration is 12 s and 7.82% when recording duration is 5 s. Lignin is an attractive renewable source of aromatics with a low effective hydrogen to carbon ratio (H/Ceff). The catalytic hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of lignin-derived model compounds is a key strategy for lignin upgrading. In this work, the HDO of guaiacol, a typical lignin-derived compound, was carried out over metal–organic framework (MOF)-derived Ni-based catalysts. A monometallic Ni-MOF catalyst and different ratios of bimetallic NiMo-MOF catalysts were synthesized by a hydrothermal process, followed by a carbonization process. Among these catalysts, Ni3Mo1@C exhibited an excellent catalytic performance, affording a guaiacol conversion of 98.8% and a cyclohexanol selectivity of 66.8% at 240 °C and 2 MPa H2 for 4 h. The addition of Mo decreased the particle size of the spherical structure and improved the dispersion of metal particles. The synergistic effect between Ni and Mo was confirmed by various means, including ICP, XRD, SEM, TEM, and NH3-TPD analyses. MK-2048 is a second-generation integrase inhibitor active against HIV, which has been applied vaginally using ring formulations. In this work, a nanoparticle-in-film technology was developed as a discrete pre-exposure prophylactic product option against HIV for an extended duration of use. A film platform loaded with poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (PNP) encapsulating MK-2048 was engineered. MK-2048 PNPs were loaded into films that were manufactured via the solvent casting method. Physicochemical and mechanical properties, in vitro efficacy, Lactobacillus compatibility, in vitro and ex vivo permeability, and in vivo pharmacokinetics in macaques were evaluated. PNPs with a mean diameter of 382.2 nm and −15.2 mV zeta potential were obtained with 95.2% drug encapsulation efficiency. PNP films showed comparable in vitro efficacy to free MK-2048 (IC50 0.46 vs. 0.54 nM) and were found to have no impact on Lactobacillus. MK-2048 encapsulated in PNPs showed an increase in permeability (>4-fold) compared to the free MK-2048 in MDCKII cell lines. Furthermore, PNPs had higher ectocervical tissue permeability (1.7-fold) compared to free MK-2048. PNP films showed sustained drug levels for at least 3 weeks in the macaque vaginal fluid. In this paper, the influence of the number of ground motions on fragility analysis of 5 MW wind turbines under the excitation of aerodynamic and seismic loads is investigated to acquire the sufficient number of records for reasonable fragility estimation. Two scenarios, parked and normal operation, were simulated with the number of actual recorded ground motions ranging from 2 to 48. The fragility function parameters are estimated by utilizing the method of multiple stripe analysis (MSA), and the relationship between the number of ground motions and estimated parameters for each scenario is discussed. In addition, the influence of the number of ground motions on the range of estimated parameters with a 95% confidence interval is also discussed. The simulation results show that there are significant differences between the two scenarios in terms of fragility analysis for 5 MW wind turbines with the interaction of wind and seismic loads, and the lesser number of earthquakes is needed for a normal operation scenario compared to the parked scenario when obtaining the same accuracy fragility estimation. Furthermore, the appropriate number of ground motions to accurately estimate the fragility parameters of 5 MW wind turbines for the two scenarios is presented herein, which is almost unaffected by different wind spectra. The shear behavior of rock structural planes contains various symmetry laws, and the shear failure can be considered as an asymmetric state of the rock and rock mass. The study of shear deformation and the failure of rock structural planes plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and stability of engineered rock masses. In view of the inability of traditional shear constitutive models to describe the non-linear characteristics of the dilatancy stage and the single applicable failure form, firstly, we discuss, in depth, the law and mechanism of shear deformation and failure of structural planes, and introduce the compaction index α to measure the non-linear characteristics of shear stress–shear displacement caused by compaction of microcracks and internal pores of structural planes, and the structural plane damage model, considering the void compaction and failure mode, was established. Then, the statistical damage theory was introduced, and the strength and failure of the microunits of the rock structural plane were assumed to obey the Weibull distribution. Based on the Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion to measure the strength of the microunits of the rock structure surface, a statistical damage model of structural planes, which can describe void compaction and failure modes, was established. Finally, a comparative analysis was carried out with the test curve, and the results showed that: the calculation curve of the structural plane statistical damage model established, considering the void compaction and failure modes, has the same trend as the structural plane shear test curve, which can better describe the shear stress– shear displacement at the dilatancy stage, as well as the shearing stage and sliding stage in different failure modes. The changing law of shear displacement reflects the rationality and accuracy of the constructed constitutive model. A rare medicinal fungus called Taiwanofungus camphoratus gives people resistance to illness. In order to effectively obtain high−quality T. camphoratus mycelia, we added Cymbopogon citratus (lemongrass) water extract (LWE), which was prepared using hot water and dry lemongrass leaves and methyl jasmonate (MJ) as an additive, in order to cultivate T. camphoratus mycelia. The components of LWE were identified by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry as glucose (61.66%) and galactose (17.10%). Compare to the basal medium, 0.5–2.5 g·L−1 LWE and 5–25 μmol·L−1 MJ can enhance the proliferation of mycelia and the metabolism of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). Among them, the T. camphoratus mycelia growth rate increased to 1.292 ± 0.01 cm·d−1 and 1.285 ± 0.05 cm·d−1, improving by 2.5 g·L−1 LWE and 25 μmol·L−1 MJ, respectively. PUFAs are mainly composed of linoleic acid (LA) and oleic acid (OA). The contents of LA and OA were 0.28 ± 0.02 mg·g−1 and 0.23 ± 0.05 mg·g−1 after MJ treatment, while the contents of LA and OA were 0.08 ± 0.03 mg·g−1 and 0.05 ± 0.05 mg·g−1 after LWE treatment. Transcriptome analyses revealed that 367 and 232 genes within MJ and LWE treatment were significantly different from the basal medium. Out of 13 unigenes, FAD2−2, SCD, and FAD2−1 had the highest expression levels according to the quantitative RT−PCR result. The bioinformatics analysis showed that three genes are closely related to the M8 chromosome of T. camphoratus, and they are hydrophobic transmembrane proteins. Over the past few years, many scholars began to study averaging principles for fractional stochastic differential equations since they can provide an approximate analytical method to reduce such systems. However, in the most previous studies, there is a misunderstanding of the standard form of fractional stochastic differential equations, which consequently causes the wrong estimation of the convergence rate. In this note, we take fractional stochastic differential equations with Lévy noise as an example to clarify these two issues. The corrections herein have no effect on the main proofs except the two points mentioned above. The innovation of this paper lies in three aspects: (i) the standard form of the fractional stochastic differential equations is derived under natural time scale; (ii) it is first proved that the convergence interval and rate are related to the fractional order; and (iii) the presented results contain and improve some well known research achievements. Neutralizing antibodies (NtAbs) against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) are indicators of vaccine efficacy that enable immunity surveillance. However, the rapid mutation of SARS-CoV-2 variants prevents the timely establishment of standards required for effective XBB vaccine evaluation. Therefore, we prepared four candidate standards (No. 11, No. 44, No. 22, and No. 33) using plasma, purified immunoglobulin, and a broad-spectrum neutralizing monoclonal antibody. Collaborative calibration was conducted across nine Chinese laboratories using neutralization methods against 11 strains containing the XBB and BA.2.86 sublineages. This study demonstrated the reduced neutralization potency of the first International Standard antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern against XBB variants. No. 44 displayed broad-spectrum neutralizing activity against XBB sublineages, effectively reduced interlaboratory variability for nearly all XBB variants, and effectively minimized the geometric mean titer (GMT) difference between the live and pseudotyped virus. No. 22 showed a broader spectrum and higher neutralizing activity against all strains but failed to reduce interlaboratory variability. Thus, No. 44 was approved as a National Standard for NtAbs against XBB variants, providing a unified NtAb measurement standard for XBB variants for the first time. Moreover, No. 22 was approved as a national reference reagent for NtAbs against SARS-CoV-2, offering a broad-spectrum activity reference for current and potentially emerging variants. The durability of wooden heritage objects and sites can be affected by external environmental factors, leading to decay, cracking, and other forms of deterioration, which might ultimately result in significant and irreversible loss. In this study, a FEVE resin was modified with Ag2O/OH-MWCNTS (MA), denoted as MAF, where three concentrations were prepared using in situ precipitation, and the resulting composite adhesive was characterized by a high viscosity and effective bacteriostatic properties, demonstrating a better viscosity and thermal stability, as well as antibacterial properties, than pure FEVE resin. The results show that MAF adhesives present good thermal stability, as evidenced by a lower mass loss rate following treatment at 800 °C compared to the pure FEVE resin. At a consistent shear rate, the viscosity of MAF demonstrates a notable increase with the proportion of MA, which is better than that of FEVE. This suggests that the nano-Ag2O particles in MA act as physical crosslinking agents in FEVE, improving the viscosity of the composite adhesive MAF. The adhesion strength between MAF and wood exhibits a similar trend, with wooden samples showing higher shear strengths as the proportion of MA increases in comparison to FEVE. Simultaneously, the antibacterial effects of the MAF adhesive exceeded 1 mm for Trichoderma, Aspergillus niger, and white rot fungi. The antibacterial activity of the MAF adhesive exhibited a direct correlation with the concentration of Ag2O/OH-MWCNTS, with the most pronounced inhibitory effect observed on Trichoderma. The MAF adhesive demonstrates promising prospects as an adhesive for wooden heritage artifacts, offering a novel approach for the rapid, environmentally friendly, and efficient development of composite adhesives with superior adhesive properties. During the development of a sand-conglomerate reservoir, there is a huge variation in rock grain size and different åmineral compositions of different-sized sand grains. The mineral composition and microstructure of the rock both have an impact on the characteristics of the remaining oil in the reservoir. The stripping mechanism of a surfactant system on sand-conglomerate surface crude oil with varied grain size minerals was explored in this paper. Sand-conglomerate was classified and analyzed to determine their wettability and stripping oil effects. The optimization of the surfactant solution system and molecular dynamics simulation revealed the surfactant stripping mechanism on crude oil on distinct sandstone minerals. The results of the study showed that montmorillonite minerals are more readily adsorbed by surfactants. The crude oil within them is more likely to compete for adsorption and to be stripped off, and then extracted with the recovery fluid. The surfactant solution system can increase the hydrophilicity of the rock surface, make the crude oil on the rock surface shrink and gather, and enhance the transportation ability of the displacement fluid. And the emulsification seals part of the pore in the reservoir, increases the displacement pressure, and improves the overall wave volume. MADS-box transcription factors have crucial functions in numerous physiological and biochemical processes during plant growth and development. Previous studies have reported that two MADS-box genes, SlMBP21 and SlMADS1, play important regulatory roles in the sepal development of tomato, respectively. However, the functional relationships between these two genes are still unknown. In order to investigate this, we simultaneously studied these two genes in tomato. Phylogenetic analysis showed that they were classified into the same branch of the SEPALLATA (SEP) clade. qRT-PCR displayed that both SlMBP21 and SlMADS1 transcripts are preferentially accumulated in sepals, and are increased with flower development. During sepal development, SlMBP21 is increased but SlMADS1 is decreased. Using the RNAi, tomato plants with reduced SlMBP21 mRNA generated enlarged and fused sepals, while simultaneous inhibition of SlMBP21 and SlMADS1 led to larger (longer and wider) and fused sepals than that in SlMBP21-RNAi lines. qRT-PCR results exhibited that the transcripts of genes relating to sepal development, ethylene, auxin and cell expansion were dramatically changed in SlMBP21-RNAi sepals, especially in SlMBP21-SlMADS1-RNAi sepals. Yeast two-hybrid assay displayed that SlMBP21 can interact with SlMBP21, SlAP2a, TAGL1 and RIN, and SlMADS1 can interact with SlAP2a and RIN, respectively. In conclusion, SlMBP21 and SlMADS1 cooperatively regulate sepal development in tomato by impacting the expression or activities of other related regulators or via interactions with other regulatory proteins. Oxidative stress refers to the imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the endogenous antioxidant defense system. Its involvement in cell senescence, apoptosis, and series diseases has been demonstrated. Advances in carcinogenic research have revealed oxidative stress as a pivotal pathophysiological pathway in tumorigenesis and to be involved in lung cancer, glioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, leukemia, and so on. This review combs the effects of oxidative stress on tumorigenesis on each phase and cell fate determination, and three features are discussed. Oxidative stress takes part in the processes ranging from tumorigenesis to tumor death via series pathways and processes like mitochondrial stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and ferroptosis. It can affect cell fate by engaging in the complex relationships between senescence, death, and cancer. The influence of oxidative stress on tumorigenesis and progression is a multi-stage interlaced process that includes two aspects of promotion and inhibition, with mitochondria as the core of regulation. Simple Summary: At present, local eye drops, subconjunctival injection, and systemic administration of corticosteroids are the most common methods to control complications in dogs after phacoemulsification. However, these methods are limited by a high frequency of administration, systemic drug reactions in dogs, poor compliance among owners, and high care requirements. In this study, triamcinolone acetonide was injected into the anterior chambers of dogs after phacoemulsification to observe and evaluate its effects on controlling postoperative complications. The intraocular pressure, corneal edema, aqueous flare, aqueous humor protein concentration, and prostaglandin E2 concentration in these dogs were measured and evaluated at different time points before and after surgery. The findings confirmed that the intracameral injection of triamcinolone acetonide achieved a favorable effect on controlling transient ocular hypertension and corneal edema after phacoemulsification in dogs. Moreover, the intracameral injection of 1.5 mg of triamcinolone acetonide decreased the protein and prostaglandin E2 concentrations in the aqueous humor of dogs after surgery. It was demonstrated that triamcinolone acetonide-based treatment can be safely employed to effectively control common complications after phacoemulsification in dogs. Therefore, this treatment method is worthy of clinical application. The intracameral injection of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) has achieved favorable clinical effects in controlling intraocular inflammatory reactions in humans after cataract surgery. However, the effect of this method remains unclear in veterinary practice. In this paper, 18 dogs with bilateral cataracts were randomly divided into three groups, with 6 dogs in each group. Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation were performed on the 36 eyes of these dogs. A total of 0.1 mL of TA solution was injected into the oculus dexter (OD) anterior chambers. All oculus sinister (OS) anterior chambers of these dogs were used as controls. The results demonstrated that the corneal edema severity scores of the OD (1.5 mg TA) were lower than those of the OS from the 1st to 7th day after surgery, with a significant difference on the 3rd day after surgery (p = 0.033). The corneal edema severity scores in the OD (1.5 mg TA) were significantly lower than those in the OD (0.5 mg TA) on the 3rd day after surgery (p = 0.036). The aqueous humor protein concentration of the OD (1.5 mg TA) had a lower concentration than the OS on the 1st day after surgery (p = 0.004). Furthermore, on the 5th and 10th days, the aqueous humor protein concentration of the OD (1.5 mg TA) was lower than that of the OS (p = 0.038 and p = 0.044, respectively). The aqueous humor PGE2 concentration of the OD (1.5 mg TA) had a lower concentration than the OS on the 1st day after surgery (p = 0.026). The aqueous humor PGE2 concentrations in the OD (1.0 mg TA) and OD (1.5 mg TA) were lower compared to that in the OD (0.5 mg TA) on the 1st day after surgery (p = 0.041 and p = 0.037, respectively). Complement component 4 binding protein α (C4BPA) is an immune gene which is responsible for the complement regulation function of C4BP by binding and inactivating the Complement component C4b (C4b) component of the classical Complement 3 (C3) invertase pathway. Our previous findings revealed that C4BPA was differentially expressed by comparing the transcriptome in high-fat and low-fat bovine mammary epithelial cell lines (BMECs) from Chinese Holstein dairy cows. In this study, a C4BPA gene knockout BMECs line model was constructed via using a CRISPR/Cas9 system to investigate the function of C4BPA in lipid metabolism. The results showed that levels of triglyceride (TG) were increased, while levels of cholesterol (CHOL) and free fatty acid (FFA) were decreased (p < 0.05) after knocking out C4BPA in BMECs. Additionally, most kinds of fatty acids were found to be mainly enriched in the pathway of the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, and regulation of lipolysis in adipocyte. Meanwhile, the RNA-seq showed that most of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) are related to PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. The expressions of 3-Hydroxy-3-Methylglutaryl-CoA Synthase 1 (HMGCS1), Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 1A (CPT1A), Fatty Acid Desaturase 1 (FADS1), and Stearoyl-Coenzyme A desaturase 1 (SCD1) significantly changed when the C4BPA gene was knocked out. Germline variants in the FOXE1 transcription factor have been associated with thyroid ectopy, cleft palate (CP) and thyroid cancer (TC). Here, we aimed to clarify the role of FOXE1 in Portuguese families (F1 and F2) with members diagnosed with malignant struma ovarii (MSO), an ovarian teratoma with ectopic malignant thyroid tissue, papillary TC (PTC) and CP. Two rare germline heterozygous variants in the FOXE1 promoter were identified: F1) c.-522G>C, in the proband (MSO) and her mother (asymptomatic); F2) c.9C>T, in the proband (PTC), her sister and her mother (CP). Functional studies using rat normal thyroid (PCCL3) and human PTC (TPC-1) cells revealed that c.9C>T decreased FOXE1 promoter transcriptional activity in both cell models, while c.-522G>C led to opposing activities in the two models, when compared to the wild type. Immunohistochemistry and RT-qPCR analyses of patients' thyroid tumours revealed lower FOXE1 expression compared to adjacent normal and hyperplastic thyroid tissues. The patient with MSO also harboured a novel germline AXIN1 variant, presenting a loss of heterozygosity in its benign and malignant teratoma tissues and observable β-catenin cytoplasmic accumulation. The sequencing of the F1 (MSO) and F2 (PTC) probands' tumours unveiled somatic BRAF and HRAS variants, respectively. Germline FOXE1 and AXIN1 variants might have a role in thyroid ectopy and cleft palate, which, together with MAPK pathway activation, may contribute to tumours' malignant transformation. The construction of semiconductor heterojunction photocatalysts that improve the separation and transfer of photoinduced charge carriers is an effective and widely employed strategy to boost photocatalytic performance. Herein, we have successfully constructed a CdS/Ag/Bi2WO6 Z-scheme heterojunction with an Ag-bridge as an effective charge transfer channel by a facile process. The heterostructure consists of both CdS and Ag nanoparticles anchored on the surface of Bi2WO6 nanosheets. The photocatalytic efficiency of the CdS/Ag/Bi2WO6 system was studied by the decontamination of tetracycline (TC) and Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420). The results exhibited that CdS/Ag/Bi2WO6 shows markedly higher photocatalytic performance than that of CdS, Bi2WO6, Ag/Bi2WO6, and CdS/Bi2WO6. The trapping experiment results verified that the •O2− and h+ radicals are the key active species. The results of photoluminescence spectral analysis and photocurrent responses indicated that the CdS/Ag/Bi2WO6 heterojunctions exhibit exceptional efficiency in separating and transferring photoinduced electron−hole pairs. Based on a series of characterization results, the boosted photocatalytic activity of the CdS/Ag/Bi2WO6 system is mostly due to the successful formation of the Ag-bridged Z-scheme heterojunction; these can not only inhibit the recombination rate of photoinduced charge carriers but also possess a splendid redox capacity. The Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS)G12C mutation is prevalent in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), driving tumor progression and indicating a poor prognosis. While the FDA-approved AMG510 (Sotorasib) initially demonstrated efficacy in treating KRASG12C-mutated LUAD, resistance emerged within months. Data from AMG510 treatment-resistant LUAD (GSE204753) and single-cell datasets (GSE149655) were analyzed. Gene set variation analysis (GSVA) and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) were used to explore enriched signaling pathways, nomogram models were constructed, and transcription factors predicting resistance biomarkers were predicted. CIBERSORT identified immune cell subpopulations, and their association with resistance biomarkers was assessed through single-cell analysis. AMG510-resistant LUAD cells (H358-AR) were constructed, and proliferative changes were evaluated using a CCK-8 assay. Key molecules for AMG510 resistance, including SLC2A1, TLE1, FAM83A, HMGA2, FBXO44, and MTRNR2L12, were recognized. These molecules impacted multiple signaling pathways and the tumor microenvironment and were co-regulated by various transcription factors. Single-cell analysis revealed a dampening effect on immune cell function, with associations with programmed cell death ligand 1 (PDL1) expression, cytokine factors, and failure factors. The findings indicate that these newly identified biomarkers are linked to the abnormal expression of PDL1 and have the potential to induce resistance through immunosuppression. Simple Summary: Existing freely available global land surface observations are limited by medium to coarse resolutions or short time spans. Here we developed a feature-level data fusion framework using a generative adversarial network (GAN), a deep learning technique, to leverage Landsat and Sentinel-2 observations during their over-lapping period from 2016 to 2019, and reconstruct 10 m Sentinel-2 like imagery from 30 m historical Landsat archives. Our tests with both simulated data and actual Landsat/Sentinel-2 acquisitions showed that the GAN-based super-resolution method could accurately reconstruct synthetic Landsat data at an effective resolution very close to that of the real Sentinel-2 observations. The promising results from our deep learning-based feature-level fusion method highlight the potential for reconstructing a 10 m Landsat series archive since 1984. It is expected to improve our capability of detecting and tracking finer scale land changes, identifying the drivers for and responses to global environmental changes. Long-term record of fine spatial resolution remote sensing datasets is critical for monitoring and understanding global environmental change, especially with regard to fine scale processes. Superhigh organic sulfur(SHOS) coals have currently attracted great attention due to their typical depositional environments and formation history as well as their great negative impact on the ecosystem. This study investigated the geochemistry of the No. 11coalof the Late Carboniferous Taiyuan Formation from the Sangshuping coalmine, Hancheng miningarea, Weibei coalfield, Shaanxi, North China. The No. 11 coal is a high-sulfur coal with a large proportion of organic sulfur content (3.7 to 5.5%, avg. 4.4%) and belongs to typical SHOS coal. The high sulfur content in the Sangshuping coal mine has been mainly caused by the combined influences of seawater and hydrothermal fluids. The SHOS in No. 11 coal was formed in the Fe-poor and S-rich high-marine influenced occlusive environment. During the late coalification stage, a high proportion of pyritic sulfur was formed due to sufficient Fe supply from the Fe–S-rich epigenetic hydrothermal fluids. The No. 11 SHOS coal is enriched in Li–Ga–Zr–Hf and Se–Mo–Cr–V–As–Pb element assemblages. The sediment provenance of the Sangshuping coal mine is predominantly felsic–intermediate rocks from both the Yinshan and Qinling Oldland. However, the elevated concentrations of critical elements (Li, Ga, Zr, and Hf) in the No. 11 coal are primarily inherited from the Yinshan Oldland. The enrichment of the Se–Mo–Cr–V–As–Pb assemblage in No. 11 coal can be ascribed to the influence of both seawater and epigenetic hydrothermal activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Head and neck cancer (HNC) is a fatal and debilitating disease that is characterized by steady, poor survival rates despite advances in treatment. There is an urgent and unmet need to improve our understanding of what drives this insidious cancer and causes poor outcomes. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small vesicles that originate from tumor cells, immune cells, and other cell types and are secreted into plasma, saliva, and other bio-fluids. EVs represent dynamic, real-time changes of cells and offer an exciting opportunity to improve our understanding of HNC biology that may translate to improved clinical practice. Considering the amplified interest in EVs, we have sought to provide a contemporary review of the most recent and salient literature that is shaping the field. The potential utilization of boiler slag generated in large amounts from pulverized-coal-combustion (PCC) power plants has recently drawn much attention due to the serious problems caused to ecosystems. In order to make maximal use of the boiler slag and reduce the environmental risk it poses, this study focused on manufacturing acoustic materials using boiler slag from Chinese PCC power plants. Three promising acoustic materials were successfully manufactured from up to 80% boiler slag with different grain sizes, with the addition of 20% Portland cement. The density and compressive strength of the products were inversely proportional and the sound absorption coefficient was positively proportional to the grain size of the boiler slag. The best sound absorption coefficient was obtained in products made from the coarsest fraction of the boiler slag (MS-C). Nonetheless, all the boiler-slag-based acoustic products still demonstrated compressive strength and densities comparable to those of other acoustic materials made of Spanish bottom ash or other conventional/recycled materials. The acoustic products made from the coarsest fraction (MS-C) and medium fraction (MS-M) of the boiler slag presented good noise absorption characteristics, like those of the commercial coarse porous cement that is traditionally used as an acoustic product. Furthermore, the acoustic products were characterized by very low leach ability of potentially hazardous elements. Consequently, the manufacture of acoustic materials is a very promising application for boiler slag. On the one hand, it consumes huge amounts of boiler slag that is generated in large amounts in China. On the other hand, the acoustic products can be used extensively to produce road acoustic barriers with a high sound absorption efficiency, no significant physical or mechanical limitations and no environmental implication. The construction of heterostructured photocatalyst with an appropriate energy band structure will help realize highly efficient photo-excited charge separation. In this study, ternary CuO/CeO2/ZnO nano-particle (NP) composites were synthesized by a facile two-step sol-gel method, which exhibit significantly enhanced photocatalytic degradation performance for various organic pollutants under UV and visible light excitation. The photo-responses to both UV and visible light, as well as the visible light absorption and utilization rates of ZnO are found to be synergistically intensified by CeO2 and CuO co-coupling. The first-order kinetic constants (K) of 3%CuO/CeO2/ZnO for methylene blue (MB) degradation are ~3.9, ~4.1 and ~4.8 times higher than ZnO under UV light, visible light and simulated sunlight illumination, respectively. The roles of CuO and CeO2 in optical properties and photo-degradation under UV and visible light were explored. Besides, the photogenic holes (h+) of ZnO, CeO2, and the produced hydroxyl radicals (·OH) are proved to be the main active species under UV light. Dissimilarly, under visible light, the superoxide radicals (·O2−) formed by the reactions between oxygen molecules and the photo-generated electrons (e−) of CuO moving towards the catalysts surface are also found to be important for promoting dye decomposition. The improved photo-responses, the well-matched band structure that facilitates charge transfer processes, and the highly efficient utilization of the photo-excited carriers of the ternary nano-heterostructure are suggested to be the key factors for the remarkable enhancement of photocatalytic performance of ZnO nano-photocatalyst. Traditional fault indicators based on 3G and 4G cannot send out fault-generated information if the distribution lines are located in the system across remote mountainous or forest areas. Hence, power distribution systems in rural areas only rely on patrol to find faults currently, which wastes time and lacks efficiency. With the development of the Internet of things (IoT) technology, some studies have suggested combining the long-range (LoRa) and the narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technologies to increase the data transmission distance and reduce the self-built communication system operating cost. In this paper, we propose an optimal configuration scheme for novel intelligent IoT-based fault indicators. The proposed fault indicator combines LoRa and NB-IoT communication technologies with a long communication distance to achieve minimum power consumption and high-efficiency maintenance. Under this given cyber network and physical power distribution network, the whole fault location process depends on the fault indicator placement and the deployment of the communication network. The overall framework and the working principle of the fault indicators based on LoRa and NB-IoT are first illustrated to establish the optimization placement model of the proposed novel IoT-based fault indicator. Secondly, an optimization placement method has been proposed to obtain the optimal number of the acquisition and collection units of the fault indicators, as well as their locations. Mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of coals provide crucial information on their potential clean, efficient, and integrated utilization. In this paper, the mineralogical and geochemical behaviors of the No. 5 coals of the Taiyuan Formation in the Weibei Coalfield, North China, were investigated, and their geological controlling factors were subsequently discussed. The minerals in the Weibei coals mainly consist of kaolinite (8.3%), calcite (5.0%), and pyrite (3.1%), with minor proportions of tobelite (2.9%), dolomite (1.7%), quartz (1.8%), and traces of siderite (0.4%) and gypsum (0.6%). Several critical elements, including Nb (19.8 mg/kg), Ta (3.6 mg/kg), Zr (71.0 mg/kg) and Li (32.3 mg/kg), occur at concentrations higher than those averages for world hard coals, making the Weibei coals potential sources of these critical elements. Several factors, terrigenous material, seawater invasion, and hydrothermal fluids are responsible for these mineralogical and geochemical characteristics. The L-type rare earth elements and yttrium (REE-Y) enrichment in the roofs and partings, Al2O3-TiO2 and Zr/TiO2-Nb/Y plots, and negative Eu and weak negative Ce anomalies in the Weibei coals indicate a felsic-intermediate dominated sediment provenance primarily derived from the Qilian-Qinling Oldland on the South. Marine bioclastic limestone, negative Ce and positive Y anomalies in coals imply the influence of seawater on the Weibei coals. Last but not least, the cleat-infilling and/or fracture-infilling calcite, pyrite, barite, and tobelite as well as the positive Eu and Gd anomalies, H-type, and M-type REE-Y enrichment patterns suggest the influence of hydrothermal fluids, which lead to re-distribution of some critical elements from roof and parting to the underlying coal seam. The capsule endoscopy robot can only use monocular vision due to the dimensional limit. To improve the depth perception of the monocular capsule endoscopy robot, this paper proposes a photometric stereo-based depth map reconstruction method. First, based on the characteristics of the capsule endoscopy robot system, a photometric stereo framework is established. Then, by combining the specular property and Lambertian property of the object surface, the depth of the specular highlight point is estimated, and the depth map of the whole object surface is reconstructed by a forward upwind scheme. To evaluate the precision of the depth estimation of the specular highlight region and the depth map reconstruction of the object surface, simulations and experiments are implemented with synthetic images and pig colon tissue, respectively. In this study, copper slag reprocessing tailings (CSRT) were synthesized into geopolymers with 40%, 50% and 60% metakaolin. The evolution of compressive strength and microstructures of CSRT-based geopolymers in a marine environment was investigated. Except for compressive strength measurement, the characterizations of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were included. It was found that marine conditions changed the Si/Al ratio in the sodium-aluminosilicate-hydrate (N-A-S-H) gel backbone, promoted the geopolymerization process, led to more Q4(3Al), Q4(2Al) and Q4(1Al) gel formation and a higher compressive strength of the geopolymers. Simple Summary: In this study, we analyzed the microRNA (miRNA) sequencing libraries of the hen ovary at four different developmental stages (15, 20, 30, and 68 W) and found 209 differently expressed (DE) miRNAs in the six comparisons of the four stages, which might be involved in ovarian growth and functions. In particular, five key miRNAs (gga-miR-2954, gga-miR-6634-5p, gga-miR-449b-5p, gga-miR-449c-3p, and gga-miR449c-5p) targeting 23 predicted genes were obtained in the interaction network and functional enrichment analysis through a combination of DE miRNAs and differentially expressed genes (DEGs), which might be involved in cell differentiation and proliferation, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and angiogenesis in ovarian development. Our findings can contribute to a better understanding of the role of functional miRNAs in ovarian development and the ovulatory cycle during the four developmental stages of hens. It is well-known that multiple functional miRNAs are found in mammals' ovaries, which are linked not only to ovarian development, but also to maturation and apoptosis. However, there is still a lack of knowledge regarding the role of miRNAs in the hen ovary. In the present study, we analyzed the miRNA sequencing libraries of ovaries at the four different developmental stages of hens (15, 20, 30, and 68 W) and a total of 677 known miRNAs and 61 novel miRNAs were identified. In total, 209 of them were differently expressed miRNAs (DE miRNAs) obtained from comparisons of the four stages, including 84 upregulated and 125 downregulated DE miRNAs. Furthermore, the five key DE miRNAs gga-miR-2954, gga-miR-6634-5p, gga-miR-449b-5p, gga-miR-449c-3p, and gga-miR449c-5p were screened using an analysis of the miRNA-mRNA interaction network and functional enrichment annotated in seven significantly enriched pathways, such as endocytosis, lysine degradation, the biosynthesis of amino acids, and the MAPK signaling pathway, which may primarily participate in cell differentiation and proliferation, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and angiogenesis by targeting the related genes. For instance, gga-miR-449 family members were predicted to target 15 genes, including TGFB1, TPM1, TPM3, and CAMKB2, which were reported to regulate follicular growth, selection, and the ovulatory cycle. Taken together, our results illustrate the ovarian miRNA profiles of the four classic developmental stages of hens and highlight the significant role of miRNAs in ovarian development and functions. In this paper, two types of set-valued symmetric generalized strong vector quasi-equilibrium problems with variable ordering structures are discussed. By using the concept of cosmically upper continuity rather than the one of upper semicontinuity for cone-valued mapping, some existence theorems of solutions are established under suitable assumptions of cone-continuity and cone-convexity for the equilibrium mappings. Moreover, the results of compactness for solution sets are proven. As applications, some existence results of strong saddle points are obtained. In modern cars, the Passive Keyless Entry and Start system (PKES) has been extensively installed. The PKES enables drivers to unlock and start their cars without user interaction. However, it is vulnerable to relay attacks. In this paper, we propose a secure smartphone-type PKES system model based on user context detection. The proposed system uses the barometer and accelerometer embedded in smartphones to detect user context, including human activity and door closing event. These two types of events detection can be used by the PKES to determine the car owner's position when the car receives an unlocking or a start command. We evaluated the performance of the proposed method using a dataset collected from user activity and 1526 door closing events. The results reveal that the proposed method can accurately and effectively detect user activities and door closing events. Therefore, smartphone-type PKES can prevent relay attacks. Regarding high-sensitivity human wrist joint motion monitoring in exercise rehabilitation; we develop a pair of novel wearable and sensitivity-enhanced plastic optical fiber (POF) strain sensors consisting of an etched grating fiber and a side-polished fiber stitched into a polyamide wrist brace. The two flexible and surface-treated fibers are; respectively; featured with an etched periodic gratings with a pitch of 6 mm and a depth of 0.5 mm and a D-shaped side-polished zone of ~300 µm depth and ~30 mm length; which, correspondingly, show the sensitivities of around 0.0176/° and 0.0167/° in a normalized bending angle by far larger than a conventional commercial POF, because it achieves a more sensitive strain-induced evanescent field interaction with the side-machined fibers. Moreover, in terms of the sensor response to bending deformation in the range of −40°~+40°, the former exhibits a better sensitivity in lower angle change, while the latter is superior as the bending angle increases; thereby arranging the two modified POFs separately at the side and back of the human wrist, in order to decouple the wrist joint behaviors induced by typical flexion-extension or abduction-adduction movements. Then, the circular and pentagonal wrist motion trajectory patterns are investigated, to demonstrate the maximum average single-axis motion error of 2.94° via the transformation of spatial angle to plane coordinate for the fabricated couple of POF sensors, which is lower than a recognized standard of 5°, thus suggesting the great potential in wearable exercise rehabilitation of human joints in the field of medical treatment and healing. A selected number of tetradentate N2Py2 ligand-supported ReO2+ complexes and a monodentate pyridine-supported ReO2+ complex have been investigated as catalysts for the deoxydehydration (DODH) of diols and polyols. In situ 1H NMR experiments showed that these N-donor ligand-supported ReO2+ complexes are only the pre-catalyst of the DODH reaction. Treatment of (N2Py2) ReO2+ with an excess amount of water generates an active species for DODH catalysis; use of the Re-product of this reaction shows a much shorter induction period compared to the pristine complex. No ligand is coordinated to the "water-treated" complex indicating that the real catalyst is formed after ligand dissociation. IR analysis suggested this catalyst to be a rhenium-oxide/hydroxide oligomer. The monodentate pyridine ligand is much easier to dissociate from the metal center than a tetradentate N2Py2 ligand, which makes the Py4ReO2+-initiated DODH reaction more efficient. Continuous improvement and innovation are solid foundations for the company to maintain excellent performance and competitive advantage. As the limited resources possessed by companies generally result in the incapability of implementing several improving plans simultaneously, researchers advocate that companies should evaluate the influential relationships among key success factors (KSFs) to explore the more dominant determinants for designing improving actions. This study focused on the auto lighting aftermarket (AM) industry in which the KSFs have not yet been adequately performed to explore the decisive criteria of an improvement strategy. After a literature review and a survey of experts, a preliminary list of suitable evaluation criteria was derived. Consequently, the fuzzy and decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method were employed to analyze and establish the causal relationship among criteria. This study contributes to the auto lighting AM industry by using a novel approach for identifying and prioritizing the KSFs. The result indicates that product integrity was the "cause" construct on the constructs of operating cost, quality and brand, technology development, and customer satisfaction. Tartary buckwheat is one of the nutritious minor cereals and is grown in high-cold mountainous areas of arid and semi-arid zones where drought is a common phenomenon, potentially reducing the growth and yield. Melatonin, which is an amphiphilic low molecular weight compound, has been proven to exert significant effects in plants, under abiotic stresses, but its role in the Tartary buckwheat under drought stress remains unexplored. We evaluated the influence of melatonin supplementation on plant morphology and different physiological activities, to enhance tolerance to posed drought stress by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) and alleviating lipid peroxidation. Drought stress decreased the plant growth and biomass production compared to the control. Drought also decreased Chl a, b, and the Fv/Fm ratio by 54%, 70%, and 8%, respectively, which was associated with the disorganized stomatal properties. Under drought stress, H2O2, O2•−, and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents increased by 2.30, 2.43, and 2.22-folds, respectively, which caused oxidative stress. In contrast, proline and soluble sugar content were increased by 84% and 39%, respectively. However, exogenous melatonin (100 µM) could improve plant growth by preventing ROS-induced oxidative damage by increasing photosynthesis, enzymatic antioxidants (superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase, and ascorbate peroxidase), secondary metabolites like phenylalanine ammonialyase, phenolics, and flavonoids, total antioxidant scavenging (free radical DPPH scavenging), and maintaining relative water content and osmoregulation substances under water stress. HIV-1 Tat Interactive Protein 2 (HTATIP2) is a tumor suppressor, of which reduced or absent expression is associated with increased susceptibility to tumorigenesis and enhanced tumor invasion and metastasis. However, whether the absent expression of HTATIP2 is a tumor-promoting factor that acts through improving tumor adaptation to hypoxia is unclear. Here, we established a stable HTATIP2-knockdown A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cell line (A549shHTATIP2) using lentiviral-delivered HTATIP2-targeting short hairpin RNA (shRNA), employed a double subcutaneous xenograft model and incorporated photoacoustic imaging and metabolomics approaches to elucidate the impact of the absent HTATIP2 expression on tumor response to hypoxic stress. Results from the in vivo study showed that A549shHTATIP2 tumors exhibited accelerated growth but decreased intratumoral oxygenation and angiogenesis and reduced sensitivity to sorafenib treatment as compared with their parental counterparts. Moreover, results of the immunoblot and real-time PCR analyses revealed that the HIF2α protein and mRNA levels in vehicle-treated A549shHTATIP2 tumors were significantly increased (p < 0.01 compared with the parental control tumors). Despite the strong HIF2α-c-Myc protein interaction indicated by our co-immunoprecipitation data, the increase in the c-Myc protein and mRNA levels was not significant in the A549shHTATIP2 tumors. Nonetheless, MCL-1 and β-catenin protein levels in A549shHTATIP2 tumors were significantly increased (p < 0.05 compared with the parental control tumors), suggesting an enhanced β-catenin/c-Myc/MCL-1 pathway in the absence of HTATIP2 expression. The finding of significantly decreased E-cadherin (p < 0.01 compared with vehicle-treated A549shHTATIP2 tumors) and increased vimentin (p < 0.05 compared with sorafenib-treated A549 tumors) protein levels in A549shHTATIP2 tumors implicates that the absence of HTATIP2 expression increases the susceptibility of A549 tumors to sorafenib-activated epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. Comparison of the metabolomic profiles between A549 and A549shHTATIP2 tumors demonstrated that the absence of HTATIP2 expression resulted in increased tumor metabolic plasticity that enabled tumor cells to exploit alternative metabolic pathways for survival and proliferation rather than relying on glutamine and fatty acids as a carbon source to replenish TCA cycle intermediates. Our data suggest a mechanism by which the absent HTATIP2 expression modulates tumor adaptation to hypoxia and promotes an aggressive tumor phenotype by enhancing the HIF2α-regulated β-catenin/c-Myc/MCL-1 signaling, increasing the susceptibility of tumors to sorafenib treatment-activated EMT process, and improving tumor metabolic plasticity. Conservative gene families in plants, which are closely related to innovations in flowering plants, have long and complex evolutionary histories. Here, we used the SQUAMOSA promoter-binding protein (SBP-box) gene family as an example to study conservative gene families in flowering plants. In total, 11 groups, including nine angiosperm-conservative groups and two monocot- and eudicot-specific groups, were identified. Among the nine angiosperm-conservative groups, four are conserved in all land plants and the remaining five are angiosperm-specific. The five angiosperm-specific groups exhibit structural and functional diversity and evolved together, along with the evolution of flowering plants. The expansion of SBP genes was affected by miR156, and the miR156-regulated SBP genes tend to retain more copies. Our results reflect the dynamic evolutionary process of the different groups, with the identification of two genetic lines via synteny analyses. In addition, miR156 showed a close evolutionary relationship with SBP genes, suggesting that it may originate from face-to-face tandem duplication of SBP genes. SBP genes without an miR156 binding locus are usually functionally conservative or housekeeping like, belonging to the terrestrial-conservative group.
