The global serious pollution situation urgently needs green, efficient, and sustainable development methods to achieve heavy metal pollution control. The photocatalytic properties of anatase are sufficient to achieve pollution control by providing photoelectrons to harmful heavy metals. However, since natural anatase particles tend to agglomerate and deactivate in water, most studies have been conducted to prepare TiO2–biochar nanocomposites using chemical synthesis methods. In the present study, we utilized pyrolytic sintering to load natural anatase onto biochar to obtain natural anatase–biochar (TBC) composites. Characterization tests, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), showed that anatase was uniformly partitioned into the surface and pores of biochar without destroying the lattice structure. Due to its photocatalytic properties, TBC degraded Cr (VI) by 99.63% under light conditions. This is 1.58 times higher than the dark condition. Zeta potential showed that the surface of the TBC was positively charged under acidic conditions. The charge attraction between TBC and chromium salt was involved in the efficient degradation of Cr (VI). Different sacrificial agents as well as gas purge experiments demonstrated that photoelectrons (e−) and superoxide radicals ( O 2 − ) dominated the degradation of Cr (VI). TBC has the characteristics of high efficiency, stability, and sustainability. This may provide a new idea for the preparation of photocatalytic materials and the realization of environmental protection and sustainable development through heavy metal pollution control. Microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology holds significant promise for the production of clean energy and treatment of pollutants. Nevertheless, challenges such as low power generation efficiency and the high cost of electrode materials have impeded its widespread adoption. The porous microstructure of biochar and the exceptional photocatalytic properties of rutile endow it with promising catalytic potential. In this investigation, we synthesized a novel Rutile–Biochar (Rut-Bio) composite material using biochar as a carrier and natural rutile, and explored its effectiveness as a cathode catalyst to enhance the power generation efficiency of MFCs, as well as its application in remediating heavy metal pollution. Furthermore, the impact of visible light conditions on its performance enhancement was explored. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis validated the successful fabrication of rutile composites loaded with biochar. The maximum current density and power density achieved by the MFCs were 153.9 mA/m2 and 10.44 mW/m2, respectively, representing a substantial increase of 113.5% and 225% compared to the control group. In addition, biochar-supported rutile MFCs showed excellent degradation performance of heavy metal pollutants under light conditions. Within 7 h, the Cr6+ degradation rate reached 95%. In contrast to the blank control group, the removal efficiency of pollutants exhibited increases of 630.8%. The cyclic degradation experiments also showcased the remarkable stability of the system over multiple cycles. This study successfully integrated natural rutile and biochar to fabricate highly efficient cathode photocatalyst composites, which not only enhanced the power generation performance of MFCs but also presented an environmentally sustainable and economically viable method for addressing heavy metal pollution. The expansion of vermiculite using microwave irradiation is an environmentally friendly and efficient method that can enhance the material's adsorption performance. This study investigated the microwave irradiation of vermiculite with five different particle sizes (4/2/1/0.5/0.2 mm) and found that the adsorption capacity for Pb2+ increased with larger particle sizes. The equilibrium adsorption capacity reached 15.98 mg/g at 4 mm, representing a 45.01% improvement compared to 0.2 mm. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model effectively described the adsorption kinetics. No significant differences were observed in the specific surface area and pore size distribution of all samples. Thermogravimetric quantitative analysis revealed that larger particle sizes retained interlayer water more effectively. As the particle size decreased, the interlayer water content generally showed a decreasing trend. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis also indicated that the -OH groups in larger particle sizes exhibited higher stability. The results suggest that the high content and stability of -OH groups may be key factors in the enhanced adsorption performance for Pb2+. Cordyceps militaris is considered to be of great medicinal potential due to its remarkable pharmacological effects, safety, and edible characteristics. With the completion of the genome sequence and the advancement of efficient gene-editing technologies, coupled with the identification of gene functions in Cordyceps militaris, this fungus is poised to emerge as an outstanding strain for medicinal engineering applications. This review focuses on the development and application of genomic editing techniques, including Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT), PEG-mediated protoplast transformation (PMT), and CRISPR/Cas9. Through the application of these techniques, researchers can engineer the biosynthetic pathways of valuable secondary metabolites to boost yields; such metabolites include cordycepin, polysaccharides, and ergothioneine. Furthermore, by identifying and modifying genes that influence the growth, disease resistance, and tolerance to environmental stress in Cordyceps militaris, it is possible to stimulate growth, enhance desirable traits, and increase resilience to unfavorable conditions. Finally, the green sustainable industrial development of C. militaris using agricultural waste to produce high-value-added products and the future research directions of C. militaris were discussed. Rail transit is an important means of ensuring the sustainable development of urban transportation, but disturbance events caused by natural disasters, human factors, and other influences can lead to disruptions in rail transit operations. To cope with the impact of disturbance events on urban rail transit networks, and to explore the changes in rail transit network performance and recovery strategies under the influence of disturbance events from a resilience perspective, this paper overviews the existing research on resilience assessment and recovery strategies for urban rail transit networks. Firstly, the characteristics of the urban rail transit network and the model construction method are analyzed. Secondly, on the basis of combing the connotation development of system resilience, urban rail transit network resilience is defined, while the existing resilience metrics and assessment indexes are classified and summarized. Finally, the failure scenarios and recovery strategies of urban rail transportation network are deeply studied and discussed. The research results show that urban rail transit network resilience has been widely concerned by scholars, and certain results have been achieved in three aspects of resilience connotation, resilience assessment and recovery strategy. Nevertheless, further research is needed on these aspects. We propose future research directions that involve exploring modeling methods aligned with actual network topologies, developing unified indexes for resilience assessment and focusing on resilience assessment and recovery strategies under uncertain disturbance events. The Sapindus saponaria (soapberry) kernel is rich in oil that has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, promotes cell proliferation, cell migration, and stimulates skin wound-healing effects. S. saponaria oil has excellent lubricating properties and is a high-quality raw material for biodiesel and premium lubricants, showing great potential in industrial and medical applications. Metabolite and transcriptome analysis revealed patterns of oil accumulation and composition and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) during seed development. Morphological observations of soapberry fruits at different developmental stages were conducted, and the oil content and fatty acid composition of the kernels were determined. Transcriptome sequencing was performed on kernels at 70, 100, and 130 days after flowering (DAF). The oil content of soapberry kernels was lowest at 60 DAF (5%) and peaked at 130 DAF (31%). Following soapberry fruit-ripening, the primary fatty acids in the kernels were C18:1 (oleic acid) and C18:3 (linolenic acid), accounting for an average proportion of 62% and 18%, respectively. The average contents of unsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids in the kernel were 86% and 14%, respectively. Through the dynamic changes in fatty acid composition and DEGs analysis of soapberry kernels, FATA, KCR1, ECR, FAD2 and FAD3 were identified as candidate genes contributing to a high proportion of C18:1 and C18:3, while DGAT3 emerged as a key candidate gene for TAG biosynthesis. The combined analysis of transcriptome and metabolism unveiled the molecular mechanism of oil accumulation, leading to the creation of a metabolic pathway pattern diagram for oil biosynthesis in S. saponaria kernels. The study of soapberry fruit development, kernel oil accumulation, and the molecular mechanism of oil biosynthesis holds great significance in increasing oil yield and improving oil quality. Symplocos paniculata are reported to exhibit seed dormancy, which impedes its cultivation and widespread adoption. In this study, a comprehensive method was established to overcome seed dormancy by subjecting seeds to scarification in 98% H2SO4 for 10 min, followed by 1000 mg·L−1 GA3 soaking for 48 h and stratification at 4 °C for 100 days. The seed germination percentage has increased significantly, to a peak of 42.67%, though the seeds could not germinate timely by NaOH scarification. Additionally, the dynamic changes of key stored substances (proteins, soluble sugars, starches, and fats), associated enzyme activities (amylases, peroxidase, and catalase), and endogenous hormones (abscisic acid, gibberellic acid, and indole-3-acetic acid) in seeds were investigated. The results demonstrated a continuous degradation of starch and fat in S. paniculata seeds, while the levels of protein and soluble sugar exhibited fluctuations, which probably facilitated seed dormancy breaking through energy supply and transformation. The enzymatic activities underwent rapid changes, accompanied by a gradual decrease in ABA content within the seeds with increasing stratification time. Notably, GA3, GA3/ABA, and (GA3 + IAA)/ABA showed significant increases, indicating their positive regulatory roles in seed germination. In this study, a novel magnetic molecularly imprinted polymeric material (Fe3O4@MOF@MIP-160) with a metal-organic backbone (Fe3O4@MOF) carrier was prepared using dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as a template. The material can be used for the efficient, rapid, and selective extraction of trace amounts of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) in food and can detect them via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The synthesis conditions of the materials were optimized to prepare the Fe3O4@MOF@MIP160 with the highest adsorption performance. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectra (FT-IR), Vibration Sample Magnetic (VSM), and the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method were used to characterize the materials. Compared with Fe3O4@MOF and the magnetic non-imprinted polymeric material (Fe3O4@MOF@NIP), Fe3O4@MOF@MIP-160 possesses the advantages of easy and rapid manipulation of magnetic materials, the advantages of high specific surface area and the stability of metal–organic frameworks, and the advantages of high selectivity of molecularly imprinted polymers. Fe3O4@MOF@MIP-160 has good recognition and adsorption capacity for di-butyl phthalate (DBP) and diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP): the adsorption capacity for DBP and DEHP is 260 mg·g−1 and 240.2 mg·g−1, and the adsorption rate is fast (reaching equilibrium in about 20 min). Additionally, Fe3O4@MOF@MIP160 could be recycled six times, making it cost-effective, easy to operate, and time-saving as compared to traditional solid-phase extraction materials. The phthalate ester content in drinking water, fruit juice, and white wine was analyzed, with recoveries ranging from 70.3% to 100.7%. Underwriters play a pivotal role in the IPO process. Information entropy, a tool for measuring the uncertainty and complexity of information, has been widely applied to various issues in complex networks. Information entropy can quantify the uncertainty and complexity of nodes in the network, providing a unique analytical perspective and methodological support for this study. This paper employs a bipartite network analysis method to construct the relationship network between underwriters and accounting firms, using the centrality of underwriters in the network as a measure of their influence to explore the impact of underwriters' influence on the distribution of interests and audit outcomes. The findings indicate that a more pronounced influence of underwriters significantly increases the ratio of underwriting fees to audit fees. Higher influence often accompanies an increase in abnormal underwriting fees. Further research reveals that companies underwritten by more influential underwriters experience a decline in audit quality. Finally, the study reveals that a well-structured audit committee governance and the rationalization of market sentiments can mitigate the negative impacts of underwriters' influence. The innovation of this paper is that it enriches the content related to underwriters by constructing the relationship network between underwriters and accounting firms for the first time using a bipartite network through the lens of information entropy. This conclusion provides new directions for thinking about the motives and possibilities behind financial institutions' cooperation, offering insights for market regulation and policy formulation. Fly ash was utilized as raw material for the preparation of spherical SiO2 (SS), which was subsequently ammonified using APTES (H2NCH2CH2CH2Si(OC2H5)3) to obtain aminated spherical SiO2 (SSN). The physicochemical properties of SS and SSN were systematically characterized. Notably, SS exhibited a remarkable specific surface area and pore volume, enabling it to accommodate abundant nitrogen-containing groups. These functional groups served as crucial active sorption sites, significantly enhancing the sorption capacity of SiO2 for Pb2+ and Cu2+ ions. Thus, the removal efficiency was above 99.9% when using dosages of 4 and 6 g/L SSN in solutions containing 200 mg/L of Pb2+ and Cu2+, respectively. Additionally, SSN showed a higher theoretical maximum sorption capacity for Pb2+ and Cu2+ ions, as determined by the Langmuir isotherm model, with values of 185.2 mg/g and 86.2 mg/g, respectively. These results surpass those reported in previous studies on adsorbents derived from fly ash. The chemical reactions that occurred between the aqueous cations and nitrogen-containing groups were identified as the pivotal factors governing the sorption of Pb2+ and Cu2+. MicroRNA-21 is a potential cancer biomarker that is highly expressed in many cancer cells. Therefore, it is important to perform highly sensitive detection of miRNA-21. In this study, we designed a surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) sensor based on an AuNPs/Ti3C2 composite for real-time and highly sensitive detection of miRNA-21. The fixation of the capture polyA-DNA probes was completed by the freezing method, which improved the detection efficiency. DNA−AuNPs/Ti3C2 conjugates were added to amplify the SPRi signal. The signal amplification combines the large specific surface area of Ti3C2 and the electronic coupling between the local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of AuNPs and the plasmon wave on the surface of the Au chip, thereby enhancing the SPRi response signal. Using this sensing strategy, the detection limit for miRNA-21 can reach 6.13 fM, with a wide dynamic range between 10 fM and 10 nM. In addition, the sensor has excellent selectivity for miRNA-21 and miRNAs with similar sequences, and receives minimal interference when applied to complex matrices. Based on these results, we believe that this study provides a simple and highly sensitive method for miRNA detection, which has great potential for the quantitative detection of miRNA in biomedical research and early clinical diagnosis. In this paper, an improved cubature Kalman filtering (CKF) is proposed using the Sigmoid function to address the problems of positioning accuracy degradation and large deviations in ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning in non-line-of-sight environments. The improved CKF is based on the squared range difference (SRD) model of the time difference of arrival (TDOA) algorithm. The inaccurate impact of model estimation under non-Gaussian noise is reduced by updating the measurement noise matrix in real time. The covariance matrix is estimated using singular value decomposition (SVD) to solve the problem of degraded state estimation performance. The filtering effect of the improved CKF algorithm is evaluated by referring to the checkpoints in the dynamic trajectory. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm effectively mitigates the impact of UWB ranging outliers in the occluded experimental environment, which makes the dynamic positioning trajectory smoother, better fitted, and more stable. To ensure high-quality electricity, improve the dependability of power systems, reduce carbon emissions, and promote the sustainable development of clean energy, short-term photovoltaic (PV) power prediction is crucial. However, PV power is highly stochastic and volatile, making accurate predictions of PV power very difficult. To address this challenging prediction problem, in this paper, a novel method to predict the short-term PV power using a nonlinear spiking neural P system-based ESN model has been proposed. First, we combine a nonlinear spiking neural P (NSNP) system with a neural-like computational model, enabling it to effectively capture the complex nonlinear trends in PV sequences. Furthermore, an NSNP system featuring a layer is designed. Input weights and NSNP reservoir weights are randomly initialized in the proposed model, while the output weights are trained by the Ridge Regression algorithm, which is motivated by the learning mechanism of echo state networks (ESNs), providing the model with an adaptability to complex nonlinear trends in PV sequences and granting it greater flexibility. Three case studies are conducted on real datasets from Alice Springs, Australia, comparing the proposed model with 11 baseline models. Universal stress proteins (USPs) play an important regulatory role in responses to abiotic stress. Most of the research related to USPs so far has been conducted on plant models such as Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), rice (Oryza sativa L.), and cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). The potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the four major food crops in the world. The potato is susceptible to mechanical damage and infection by pathogenic fungi during transport and storage. Deoxynivalenol (DON) released by Fusarium can seriously degrade the quality of potatoes. As a result, it is of great significance to study the expression pattern of the potato StUSP gene family under abiotic stress conditions. In this study, a total of 108 USP genes were identified from the genome of the Atlantic potato, divided into four subgroups. Based on their genetic structure, the physical and chemical properties of their proteins and other aspects of their biological characteristics are comprehensively analyzed. Collinear analysis showed that the homologous genes of StUSPs and four other representative species (Solanum lycopersicum, Arabidopsis, Oryza sativa L., and Nicotiana attenuata) were highly conserved. The cis-regulatory elements of the StUSPs promoter are involved in plant hormones, environmental stress, mechanical damage, and light response. RNA-seq analysis showed that there are differences in the expression patterns of members of each subgroup under different abiotic stresses. A Weighted Gene Coexpression Network Analysis (WGCNA) of the central gene showed that the differential coexpression gene is mainly involved in the plant–pathogen response process, plant hormone signal transduction, and the biosynthesis process of secondary metabolites. Through qRT-PCR analysis, it was confirmed that StUSP13, StUSP14, StUSP15, and StUSP41 may be important candidate genes involved in the response to adversity stress in potatoes. Autonomous navigation and localization are the foundations of unmanned intelligent systems, therefore, continuous, stable, and reliable position services in unknown environments are especially important for autonomous navigation and localization. Aiming at the problem where GNSS cannot continuously localize in complex environments due to weak signals, poor penetration ability, and susceptibility to interference and that visual navigation and localization are only relative, this paper proposes a GNSS-aided visual dynamic localization method that can provide global localization services in unknown environments. Taking the three frames of images and their corresponding GNSS coordinates as the constraint data, the GNSS coordinate system and world coordinate system transformation matrix are obtained through horn coordinate transformation, and the relative positions of the subsequent image sequences in the world coordinate system are obtained through epipolar geometry constraints, homography matrix transformations, and 2D–3D position and orientation solving, which ultimately yields the global position data of unmanned carriers in GNSS coordinate systems when GNSS is temporarily unavailable. Both the dataset validation and measured data validation showed that the GNSS initial-assisted positioning algorithm could be applied to situations where intermittent GNSS signals exist, and it can provide global positioning coordinates with high positioning accuracy in a short period of time; however, the algorithm would drift when used for a long period of time. We further compared the errors of the GNSS initial-assisted positioning and GNSS continuous-assisted positioning systems, and the results showed that the accuracy of the GNSS continuous-assisted positioning system was two to three times better than that of the GNSS initial-assisted positioning system, which proved that the GNSS continuous-assisted positioning algorithm could maintain positioning accuracy for a long time and it had good reliability and applicability in unknown environments. In this paper, the AUTODYN/Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method was used to study the impact of reactive fragments on three-layer equidistant steel plates. The perforation characteristics of equidistant three-layer steel plates were investigated along with the parameters of combustion energy release from reactive fragments under varied impact velocities and shape conditions. The modification of the steel plates' perforation diameter was investigated using the dimensional analysis approach. The shock wave pressure and chemical reaction characteristics were examined using the shock wave theory. The results show that within the examined impact velocity range, the perforation diameter initially increased and then decreased as the impact velocity of the reactive fragment rose. In addition, the perforation diameter was approximately 1.5–3 times the diameter of the reactive fragment. As the impact speed increased, the active reaction generated by the reactive fragments became more sufficient. The energy released contributed to the impact's pressure rise; in addition, the temperature of the steel plate was raised in part by the reactive fragment impact, making the steel plate more prone to melting. The results of this investigation provide important support for a detailed understanding of the rules governing the failure of steel plates under the impact of reactive fragments as well as the combustion of reactive fragments under impact. Liposomes (Lip) are microstructures containing lipid and aqueous phases for encapsulation and delivery of bioactivators. In this study, Ginsenoside Rh2 liposomes (Rh2−Lip) were prepared by a thin-film hydrated ultrasonic binding method. But they are not stable during storage. In addition, Rh2−Lip was wrapped with Auricultural cornea polysaccharide (ACP) and Chitosan (CS) as coating materials to improve stability. CS coating was used as a positive control. The particle sizes determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS) showed 183 ± 5.52 nm for liposomes, 197 ± 6.7 nm for Auricultural cornea polysaccharide coated liposomes (ACP−Rh2−Lip), and 198 ± 3.5 nm for Chitosan coated liposomes (CS−Rh2−Lip). The polydispersity index (PDI) of all liposomes was less than 0.3. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed that ACP and CS were successfully encapsulated on the liposome surface. In vitro simulations of digestive stability in the gastrointestinal tract showed that ACP−Rh2−Lip and CS−Rh2−Lip were more stable in gastrointestinal fluids compared to Lip. The antioxidant experiment revealed that ACP−Rh2−Lip has greater antioxidant activity than Lip. Symplocos paniculate is an oil plant exhibiting tissue-specific variations in oil content and fatty acid composition across the whole fruit (mainly pulp and seed). And its oil synthesis is intricately linked to the accumulation and transformation of sugars. Nevertheless, there remains a dearth of understanding regarding how sugar metabolism impacts oil synthesis in S. paniculate fruit. To unravel the intricate mechanism underlying the impact of sugar metabolism on lipid biosynthesis in S. paniculata fruit, a comparative analysis was conducted on the transcriptome and metabolite content of pulp and seed throughout fruit development. The findings revealed that the impact of sugar metabolism on oil synthesis varied across different stages of fruit development. Notably, during the early fruit developmental stage (from 90 to 120 DAF), pivotal genes involved in sugar metabolism, such as PGK3, PKP1, PDH-E1, MDH, and malQ, along with key genes associated with oil synthesis like KAR, HAD, and PAP were predominantly expressed in the pulp. Consequently, this preferential expression led to earlier accumulation of oil in the pulp tissue compared to the seed. Whereas, during the fruit maturity stage (from 120 DAF to 140 DAF), these genes exhibited a high level of expression in seed, thereby facilitating the rapid and substantial accumulation of seed oil compared to pulp. The sugar metabolism activity in various parts of S. paniculata fruit plays a pivotal role in oil synthesis and is contingent upon the developmental stage. These findings can offer alternative genes for further gene enhancement through molecular biotechnology, thereby augmenting fruit oil yield and altering fatty acid composition. With the prevalence of renewable energy sources such as wind power in the power system, analyzing the fault characteristics of systems composed of DFIGs is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, this article analyzes, at first theoretically, the fault characteristics of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) during fault periods. It was found that the fault current of the DFIG exhibited the frequency offset phenomenon, which is affected by the depth of voltage dips and can negatively impact traditional distance protection. Furthermore, a method using a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) based on superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) was adopted to compensate for the fault voltage of DFIG, which can mitigate the voltage dips of the DFIG. This method can not only achieve the fault ride through for DFIG but also significantly improve the frequency offset of the fault current during fault periods. In order to improve the problem of low image quality caused by insufficient illumination, a low-light image enhancement method with robustness is proposed, which can effectively handle extremely dark images while achieving good results for scenes with insufficient local illumination. First, we expose the images to different degrees to form a multi-exposure image sequence; then, we introduce global-based luminance weights and contrast-based gradient weights to fuse the multi-exposure image sequence; finally, we use a bootstrap filter to suppress the noise that may occur during the image processing. We employ pertinent assessment criteria, such as the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity (SSIM), the Average Gradient (AG), and the Figure Definition (FD), to assess how well the method enhances. Experimental results show that PSNR (31.32) and SSIM (0.74) are the highest in pretty dark scenes compared to most conventional algorithms such as MF, BIMEF, LECARM, etc. Similarly, in processing uneven illumination such as "moonlit night" images, the AG (10.21) and the FD (14.54) are at maximum. In addition, other evaluation metrics such as Shannon (SH) are optimal in the above scenarios. In addition, we apply the algorithm in this paper to the online monitoring images of electric power equipment, which can improve the image lightness while recovering the detail information. The algorithm has strong robustness in extremely dark images and natural low-light images, and the enhanced images have minimal distortion and best appearance in different low-light scenes. Higher vocational education (HVE) aims to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents so that the educated have the professional ethics, scientific culture, professional knowledge, technical skills, and other comprehensive professional qualities and action abilities required for engaging in a specific profession to achieve sustainable career development. Two problems related to critical management strategies for sustainable development activated this study: Should HVE colleges conduct academic research? What types of research should HVE colleges do? This article attempts to empirically study the second question while affirming the answer to the first question. HVE colleges focus on talent cultivation, which does not mean they will never engage in academic research. The key is to decide and evaluate the research types for HVE colleges. First, a survey was conducted on the current status and practical needs of HVE colleges globally and especially in China, and it was found that there is a mutually beneficial relationship between teaching and research in HVE colleges. Then, the positioning of HVE colleges for academic research was analyzed from three aspects—research type, performance assessment, and combination comparison—and three types of research positioning were proposed, i.e., applied research type, educational research type, and comprehensive research type. Then, three assessment index systems of academic research positioning types were designed from two input and output levels, and a research performance assessment model was established using data envelopment analysis (DEA). Finally, taking 22 vocational colleges in Shanghai as examples, a comparative study was conducted on the assessment results of three research types to determine the research types of different HVE colleges. Based on their educational history and academic research resources, HVE colleges can choose their research types. Auxin is a vital phytohormone, but its synthesis pathway is poorly understood. This study used bioinformatic analysis to identify and analyze the gene family members that encode tomato auxin biosynthesis. The FZY gene family members encoding flavin-containing monooxygenases were retrieved from the tomato genome database. DNAMAN analysis revealed nine genes within the landmark domain WL(I/V)VATGENAE, between the FAD and NADPH domains. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the FZY gene family in tomato is closely related to the YUC gene family in Arabidopsis thaliana. A qRT-PCR showed that SlFZY2, SlFZY3, SlFZY4-1, and SlFZY5 were highly expressed in tomato flower organs. The analysis of promoter cis-acting elements revealed light-responsive elements in the promoters of all nine members in tomato, indicating their sensitivity to light signals. Furthermore, the promoters of SlFZY4-2, SlFZY5, and SlFZY7 contain low-temperature-responsive elements. This study demonstrated that SlTAA5 expression was 2.22 times that of SlTAA3 in the roots, and SlTAA3 expression in the pistils was 83.58 times that in the stamens during the tomato flowering stage. Therefore, various members of the tomato FZY gene family are involved in regulating the development of tomato floral organs and are responsive to abiotic stresses, such as low temperature and weak light. Gardenia jasminoides fruits are extensively grown worldwide, with a large harvest, and its major medicinal ingredients are geniposide and crocins. Research on their accumulation and biosynthsis-related enzymes is rare. In this study, the accumulation of geniposide and crocin of G. jasminoides fruits at different developmental stages were clarified by HPLC. The highest cumulative amount of geniposide was 2.035% during the unripe-fruit period, and the highest content of crocin was 1.098% during the mature-fruit period. Furthermore, transcriptome sequencing was performed. A total of 50 unigenes encoding 4 key enzymes related in geniposide biosynthsis pathways were screened, and 41 unigenes encoding 7 key enzymes in the pathways of crocin were elucidated. It was found that the expression levels of differentially expressed genes of DN67890_c0_g1_i2-encoding GGPS, which is highly related to geniposide biosynthesis, and DN81253_c0_g1_i1-encoding lcyB, DN79477_c0_g1_i2-encoding lcyE, and DN84975_c1_g7_i11-encoding CCD, which are highly related to crocin biosynthesis, were consistent with the accumulation of geniposide and crocin content, respectively. The qRT-PCR results showed that the trends of relative expression were consistent with transcribed genes. Cold stress usually causes the abscission of floral organs and a decline in fruit setting rate, seriously reducing tomato yield. Auxin is one of the key hormones that affects the abscission of plant floral organs; the YUCCA (YUC) family is a key gene in the auxin biosynthesis pathway, but there are few research reports on the abscission of tomato flower organs. This experiment found that, under low temperature stress, the expression of auxin synthesis genes increased in stamens but decreased in pistils. Low temperature treatment decreased pollen vigor and pollen germination rate. Low night temperature reduced the tomato fruit setting rate and led to parthenocarpy, and the treatment effect was most obvious in the early stage of tomato pollen development. The abscission rate of tomato pTRV-Slfzy3 and pTRV-Slfzy5 silenced plants was higher than that of the control, which is the key auxin synthesis gene affecting the abscission rate. The expression of Solyc07g043580 was down-regulated after low night temperature treatment. Solyc07g043580 encodes the bHLH-type transcription factor SlPIF4. A method for the determination of nine biogenic amines (BAs) in wine was established using ion chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (IC-MS/MS) without derivatization. BAs were separated by a cation exchange column (IonPac CG17, 50 mm × 4 mm, 7 µm) with a gradient aqueous formic acid elution. Good linearity was obtained for nine BAs with coefficients of determination (R2) > 0.9972 within the range of 0.01–50 mg/L. The limits of detection and quantification were within the ranges of 0.6–40 µg/L and 2.0–135 µg/L, respectively, with the exception of spermine (SPM). The recoveries were demonstrated within the range of 82.6–103.0%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of less than 4.2%. This simple method featuring excellent sensitivity and selectivity was suitable for the quantification of BAs in wines. The occurrence of BAs in 236 wine samples that are commercially available in China was determined. The BA levels in wines of different geographical origins varied significantly. The acute dietary exposure assessment of BAs was carried out by calculating the estimated short-term intake (ESTI) and comparing the acute reference dose (ARfD) specified by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Results showed that the exposure to histamine (HIS) and tyramine (TYR) via the consumption of wines was much lower than the recommended ARfD level for healthy individuals. However, exposure could lead to symptoms in susceptible individuals. The array position and orientation system (array POS), composed of one main POS and multiple sub-inertial measurement units (sub-IMUs), is key equipment in the aerial remote-sensing system, especially the multi-load system, which can provide motion compensation for the multi-load remote-sensing system to improve imaging quality. Nevertheless, the measurement information of each sub-IMU can only realize the motion information of the corresponding remote-sensing load. Ideally, each remote-sensing load should be equipped with a sub-IMU for motion compensation, which is impossible in actual engineering considering the volume, weight and cost. To solve this problem, a multi-node motion estimation method based on the B-spline of the array POS is proposed to realize the motion compensation of remote-sensing loads without sub-IMUs. Firstly, the transfer alignment method based on fiber-grating multi-dimensional deformation measurement was adopted. Motion parameters of the remote-sensing payload equipped with sub-IMUs at different times can be obtained by observing and correcting the errors between the main POS and sub-IMUs. In this way, the space-time characteristics of each interpolation point are fully utilized. Additionally, the motion information of the main POS and all sub-IMUs is fitted through the estimation method based on the B-spline, during which wing deformation is considered to obtain the motion parameters of the remote-sensing payload equipped without a sub-IMU. In this way, the spatial correlation between the information of each node is fully utilized. Due to the full utilization of the spatiotemporal correlation of the motion information of each sub node, high-precision and highly reliable motion information of the remote-sensing loads not equipped with sub-IMUs is obtained. Furthermore, the proposed method can be modified locally without affecting other nodes, and has the advantages of a simple algorithm and easy engineering implementation. Finally, a semi-physical simulation based on ground-loading test was conducted. The results show that the baseline in the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis direction is improved by 0.484 mm, 0.137 mm and 1.225 mm, respectively, and that the measurement accuracy of roll angle is improved by 0.011°. Iron is an essential element because it functions as a cofactor of many enzymes, but excess iron causes cell damage. Iron hemostasis in Escherichia coli was transcriptionally maintained by the ferric uptake regulator (Fur). Despite having been studied extensively, the comprehensive physiological roles and mechanisms of Fur-coordinated iron metabolism still remain obscure. In this work, by integrating a high-resolution transcriptomic study of the Fur wild-type and knockout Escherichia coli K-12 strains in the presence or absence of iron with high-throughput ChIP-seq assay and physiological studies, we revisited the regulatory roles of iron and Fur systematically and discovered several intriguing features of Fur regulation. The size of the Fur regulon was expanded greatly, and significant discrepancies were observed to exist between the regulations of Fur on the genes under its direct repression and activation. Fur showed stronger binding strength to the genes under its repression, and genes that were repressed by Fur were more sensitive to Fur and iron regulation as compared to the genes that were activated by Fur. Finally, we found that Fur linked iron metabolism to many essential processes, and the systemic regulations of Fur on carbon metabolism, respiration, and motility were further validated or discussed. With the widespread development of multiple sensors for UGVs, the multi-source fusion-navigation system, which overcomes the limitations of the use of a single sensor, is becoming increasingly important in the field of autonomous navigation for UGVs. Because federated filtering is not independent between the filter-output quantities, owing to the use of the same state equation in each of the local sensors, a new kinematic and static multi-source fusion-filtering algorithm based on the error-state Kalman filter (ESKF) is proposed in this paper for the positioning-state estimation of UGVs. The algorithm is based on INS/GNSS/UWB multi-source sensors, and the ESKF replaces the traditional Kalman filter in kinematic and static filtering. After constructing the kinematic EKSF based on GNSS/INS and the static ESKF based on UWB/INS, the error-state vector solved by the kinematic ESKF was injected and set to zero. On this basis, the kinematic ESKF filter solution was used as the state vector of the static ESKF for the rest of the static filtering in a sequential form. Finally, the last static ESKF filtering solution was used as the integral filtering solution. Through mathematical simulations and comparative experiments, it is demonstrated that the proposed method converges quickly, and the positioning accuracy of the method was improved by 21.98% and 13.03% compared to the loosely coupled GNSS/INS and the loosely coupled UWB/INS navigation methods, respectively. Furthermore, as shown by the error-variation curves, the main performance of the proposed fusion-filtering method was largely influenced by the accuracy and robustness of the sensors in the kinematic ESKF. With frequent extreme rainfall events caused by rapid changes in the global climate, many cities are threatened by urban flooding. Timely issuance of flood warnings can help prepare for disasters and minimize losses caused by floods. In this study, we propose a method based on a convolutional neural network-bidirectional long short-term memory-difference analysis (CNN-BiLSTM-DA) model for water level prediction analysis and flood warning. The method calculates and analyzes the difference sequence between water level monitoring values and water level prediction values, compares historical flood data to determine the alarm threshold for abnormal water level data, and achieves real-time flood warnings to provide technical references for flood prevention and mitigation. Taking Yancheng city, a low-lying city located in the plain area of Jiangsu Province in China, as an example, this study verifies the accuracy of the CNN-BiLSTM model in water level prediction, which can achieve an accuracy rate above 95%. This provides a reliable data basis for further determination of warning thresholds using the DA model. The CNN-BiLSTM-DA model achieves an accuracy rate of 85.71% in flood warnings without any missed reports, demonstrating that this method has scientific, practical, and accurate features in addressing flood warning issues. This study evaluated the effects of caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid on the chemical constituents of lychee wine fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae DV10 when added at 200 mg/L and 300 mg/L before fermentation. Results showed that the caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid addition had no effect on the ability of alcoholic fermentation of S. cerevisiae. The addition of both acids decreased the utilization of amino nitrogen sources and produced less α-ketoglutaric, succinic, and acetic acid. The addition of 200 mg/L of caffeic acid induced a higher product of typical aroma components of the lychee wine, including trans-rose-oxide, precursors of 1-octane-3-ol, octanoic acid, and isoamyl acetate, and produced more esters, such as ethyl caprylate, ethyl caprate, ethyl hexanoate, isoamyl acetate, citronellyl acetate, ethyl-9-decenoate, geranyl acetate, and phenethyl acetate, compared with the chlorogenic acid addition. The effect of fertilizer supply and light intensity on the distribution of elemental contents (%C and %N) and light stable isotopes (C, N, H, and O) in different rice fractions (rice husk, brown rice, and polished rice) of two hybrid rice cultivars (maintainer lines You-1B and Zhong-9B) were investigated. Significant variations were observed for δ13C (−31.3 to −28.3‰), δ15N (2.4 to 2.7‰), δ2H (−125.7 to −84.7‰), and δ18O (15.1‰ to 23.7‰) values in different rice fractions among different cultivars. Fertilizer treatments showed a strong association with %N, δ15N, δ2H, and δ18O values while it did not impart any significant variation for the %C and δ13C values. Light intensity levels also showed a significant influence on the isotopic values of different rice fractions. The δ13C values showed a positive correlation with irradiance. The δ2H and δ15N values decreased with an increase in the irradiance. The light intensity levels did not show any significant change for δ18O values in rice fractions. Multivariate ANOVA showed a significant interaction effect of different factors (light intensity, fertilizer concentration, and rice variety) on the isotopic composition of rice fractions. It is concluded that all environmental and cultivation factors mentioned above significantly influenced the isotopic values and should be considered when addressing the authenticity and origin of rice. Furthermore, care should be taken when selecting rice fractions for traceability and authenticity studies since isotopic signatures vary considerably among different rice fractions. In axial compressors, the unsteady flow caused by the interaction between dynamic and static cascades will make the moving vanes subject to periodic forces and increase the risk of high-cycle fatigue fractures. In this study, an "S"-type bowed guide vane was designed and a 1.5-stage axial compressor model was established. For five guide vanes with different bending coefficients, unsteady numerical simulation was carried out under design conditions and near-blockage conditions. The influence of the guide vane bending coefficient on the pressure ratio and efficiency is analyzed, and the aerodynamic exciting force on moving vanes is analyzed by using the fast Fourier transform. The study shows that the model with an "S"-type bowed guide vane can greatly reduce the amplitude of aerodynamic exciting force on moving vanes. The model with a guide vane bending coefficient of −10 mm can reduce the tangential and axial aerodynamic exciting force amplitudes at the first-order blade-passing frequency by 90.82% and 90.39% under the design conditions, respectively. Under the near-blockage condition, the tangential and axial aerodynamic exciting force amplitudes can be reduced by 85.84% and 86.58%, respectively. This study aimed to optimize the brewing conditions of Shanlan rice wine (SRW) and select a suitable sterilization method. The response surface method experiment was used to optimize the brewing process of SRW. LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry) and GC-MS (gas chromatography–mass spectrometry) were used to analyze the physicochemical components, free amino acids, and flavor metabolites of the thermal-sterilized SRW and the SRW sterilized by intense pulsed light (IPL), respectively. Results showed that the optimum fermentation conditions of SRW were as follows: fermentation temperature, 24.5 °C; Qiuqu amount (the traditional yeast used to produce SRW), 0.78%; water content, 119%. Compared with the physicochemical properties of the control, those of the SRWs separately treated with two sterilization methods were slightly affected. The 60 s pulse treatment reduced the content of bitter amino acids, maintained sweet amino acids and umami amino acids in SRW, and balanced the taste of SRW. After pasteurization, the ester content in wine decreased by 90%, and the alcohol content decreased to different degrees. IPL sterilization slightly affected the ester content and increased the alcohol content. Further analysis of the main flavor metabolites showed that 60 s pulse enhanced the important flavor-producing substances of SRW. In conclusion, 60 s pulse is suitable for sterilizing this wine. Building atrium design is crucial to maintaining a sustainable built environment and providing thermal comfort to occupants. This study proposes a parametric framework to optimize the atrium's geometry for environmental performance and thermal comfort improvement. It integrates the parametric design, performance simulation, and multi-objective optimization in the Rhino and Grasshopper platform to realize automatic optimization. The atrium's well index, shape ratio, volume ratio, position index, and inner interface window-to-wall ratio were set as optimized factors. For the optimization objectives, useful daylight illuminance (UDI), energy use intensity (EUI), and the discomfort time percentage (DTP) were chosen as metrics for the measurement of daylighting, energy use efficiency, and thermal comfort, respectively. Moreover, a geometry mapping method is developed; it can turn atrium shape into rectangular profiles. Thus, the framework can apply to general buildings. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, an atrium optimization case study is conducted for a villa in Poland. According to the optimization results, the performance of the compared three objectives are improved by 43.20%, 15.52%, and 3.89%, respectively. The amorphous AlTiCrFeMoSi high entropy alloy (HEA) coating with high hardness (11.88 GPa) is successfully deposited on T91 substrate by the magnetron sputtering method. Both T91 steel and as−deposited AlTiCrFeMoSi coating samples are exposed to a static liquid lead−bismuth eutectic (LBE) at 550 °C for up to 2000 h. The coating exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against lead−bismuth eutectic (LBE) compared with the uncoated T91 steel. Cu-bearing high-entropy alloys (HEAs) have been proposed for use as structural materials in the marine environment due to their superior mechanical and antimicrobial properties. However, the Al, Cu-enriched precipitations in HEAs damage their corrosion resistance. In this study, we used ultrasonic shot peening (USSP) technology to solve this problem. USSP caused severe plastic deformation of the Al0.3Cu0.5CoCrFeNi HEA surface and dispersed the long-strip Al, Cu-enriched phases into scattered dots, which reduced the galvanic corrosion of the HEA and enhanced passive film formation. The Al, Cu-enriched scattered precipitations also increased the number of Cu2+ ion dissolution sites, leading to the improvement of the alloy's antibacterial properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fe-Cu-Co prealloyed powder is used for bonding metal of diamond tools. In order to obtain diamond tools with good mechanical properties by pressureless sintering, it is necessary to add Cu-Sn sintering aids. The substrate also has high corrosion resistance requirements, which is conducive to the chemical erosion of diamond tools. This paper mainly studies the effects of Cu-Sn on the corrosion behavior of pressureless sintered Fe-Cu-Co substrate. The results show that the linear contraction rate and relative density of pressureless sintered Fe-Cu-Co alloy at 875 °C reach their peak when the Cu-Sn content is 8 wt.%, 15.13% and 97.5%, respectively. The substrate is mainly composed of α-Fe and Cu-rich phases, and selective corrosion occurs during electrochemical corrosion; namely, α-Fe grains are more prone to corrosion than Cu-rich grains to form porous corrosion surfaces. With the increase in Cu-Sn addition, the volume fraction of the Cu-rich phase increases, the corrosion current density and the passive current density gradually decrease, and the corrosion resistance of the alloy is improved. The amount and integrity of anodic passive film on the Fe-Cu-Co surface increases with the increase in Cu-Sn addition. The oxygen content of the anodic passivation film is lower than that of the active corrosion products of the α-Fe phase, thus reducing the oxygen concentration gradient and slowing down the corrosion. The structure and activity of vermiculite can be maintained by expanding vermiculite (Vrm) with hydrogen peroxide. However, it is time-consuming. In past studies, little attention has been paid to the catalytic properties of manganese dioxide on hydrogen peroxide to improve the swelling efficiency of vermiculite. In this experiment, this catalytic effect was utilized to swell Vrm in a short time. The samples were then used to adsorb Cd from the solution. Through a series of characterization tests. The results showed that the exothermic rate was 1960.42–2089.164 J/min and the total exothermic heat was 39,208.4–41,783.28 J when expanding 10 gVrm, which could have a good expansion effect. The expansion was completed in about 40 min. Compared with Vrm, the adsorption of Cd is enhanced by about 30%. It is consistent with the proposed secondary kinetic adsorption model. This study provides a new perspective and theoretical guidance for improving the efficiency of Vrm stripping by hydrogen peroxide. In order to solve the problems of low delivery efficiency and high cost at the end of express delivery, and the impact of express trucks on urban road traffic, the co-delivery mode of trucks and buses is proposed. In this mode, without affecting the normal operation of the bus, it uses the idle resources of the bus to cooperate with the trucks to complete the delivery. The express company pays the bus delivery service fee to the bus operator, so as to improve the revenue of the bus operator. At the same time, the delivery efficiency can be improved, the express delivery cost can be reduced, and the impact of express trucks on urban traffic can be lower. A two-layer optimization model is constructed to solve the bus delivery service pricing and express space-time path selection scheme under the co-delivery mode. An example analysis is carried out through the actual bus routes and express delivery demand in Dalian. The results show that the co-delivery mode can provide consumers with more efficient services, reduce costs for express companies, provide additional revenue for bus operators, and improve social welfare. Nanoscale and nanostructured materials have drawn great attention owing to their outstanding and unique properties. Enlightened by the study of "entropy-stabilized oxides", nanotubes consisting of multi-component mixed metal oxides are developed, which formed on equi-atomic TiZrHfNbTa high-entropy alloy (HEA). However, the growth mechanism and how the oxidation conditions influence the nanotube growth and morphology remains unknown. Due to the complexity of the compressor operating conditions and the existence of various disturbances and unsteady effects in the flow field, the analysis of compressor stator vibration characteristics becomes particularly critical. The convolutional neural network model combined with a transient CFD method was introduced to solve the difficulty of analyzing the flow load of the compressor stator blade. This paper mainly focuses on two key points: the complex change of the aerodynamic load and the accurate prediction of the blade excitation. Considering the stator–rotor interference, the unsteady effects, and the variable working condition characteristics, the random disturbance analysis model of the flow field boundary was generated to simulate the unsteady flow excitation of the stator under complex working conditions. By establishing the neural network of boundary disturbance and flow excitation characteristics, the prediction model was trained and generated under the support of large-scale data. The most important role of the model was to establish the end-to-end data mapping between the disturbance condition and the aerodynamic load of the stator blade. The conclusions demonstrate that the introduction of an airflow disturbance is helpful to obtain the excitation characteristics of the stator under complex working conditions. The model established in this paper based on 1000 groups of disturbed working condition data can effectively predict the aerodynamic load of the blades under complex working conditions. In addition, the construction of the model is beneficial for saving a lot of computing resources, and the prediction accuracy also reaches a good level. We examined the fruit morphology, oil content, and fatty acids (FAs) of 11 populations of Swida wilsoniana in four provinces in southern China. The fruit oil was extracted by the Soxhlet method, and the FA composition was determined by gas chromatography (GC). The variation in oil content ranged from 16.10 ± 4.94% to 33.08 ± 5.52%, and the major FAs were linoleic acid (44.85 ± 6.70%), oleic acid (29.45 ± 7.63%), palmitic acid (19.59 ± 3.98%), stearic acid (1.95 ± 0.39%), and linolenic acid (0.21 ± 0.07%). The unsaturated FAs accounted for 78.38 ± 3.74%. There was high genetic variation in the oil content and FA composition among the populations. We assessed the relationships between the ecological factors and the FA composition among the populations. The oil content was positively correlated with temperature (r = 0.645, p < 0.05) and negatively correlated with latitude (r = −0.653, p < 0.05). Interestingly, both latitude and temperature were strongly correlated with the unsaturated FAs of the fruits. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that the populations in different areas could be separated based on oil quality and plant growth. In conclusion, the oil content and FA composition were influenced by geographical area. The findings could help to improve fruit oil quality in future S. wilsoniana breeding programs. Researchers have made crucial advances in understanding the pathogenesis and therapeutics of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), improving our understanding of lung tumor biology and progression. Although the survival of NSCLC patients has improved due to chemoradiotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, overall NSCLC recovery and survival rates remain low. Thus, there is an urgent need for the continued development of novel NSCLC drugs or combination therapies with less toxicity. Although the anticancer effectiveness of curcumin (Cur) and some Cur analogs has been reported in many studies, the results of clinical trials have been inconsistent. Therefore, in this review, we collected the latest related reports about the anti-NSCLC mechanisms of Cur, its analogs, and Cur in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents via the Pubmed database (accessed on 18 June 2022). Furthermore, we speculated on the interplay of Cur and various molecular targets relevant to NSCLC with discovery studio and collected clinical trials of Cur against NSCLC to clarify the role of Cur and its analogs in NSCLC treatment. To analyze the differences in the optimal urban scale of a country, a government, and residents under different urban development goals and to provide a reference for urban development, an urban development model is constructed based on the constant elasticity of substitution (CES) utility function. The objective function includes four indicators: the economic level, the traffic level, environmental quality, and living conditions. The urban development model is constructed by integrating an urban road planning model, bus route planning model, land use model, and four-stage traffic sharing and traffic allocation model. Based on the setting of different development goals, this model is used to calculate the urban utility value perceived by each stakeholder at different urban scales. Through comparative analysis, we determine the following: (1) When the urban development goals are different, the optimal urban scale of residents and the government differs greatly, and the optimal scale of the country differs very little. (2) When facing the same development goal, the optimal urban scales of the three stakeholders are not the same. However, the three stakeholders are closely related to urban development. The hypervelocity impact of space debris causes damage or destruction to spacecraft. The continuous damage caused by space debris creates greater requirements for protective materials. Wave-impedance gradient-protection material is a new type of space-debris-protection material with high kinetic-energy dissipation. However, the relationship between the distribution characteristics of the impedance layer and the protective performance is still unclear. This study provides guidance for the design of high-performance wave-impedance gradient materials by establishing the quantitative relationship between impedance-layer distribution characteristics and protective performance. Based on the one-dimensional shock-wave theory, this paper analyzes the propagation process of shock waves in wave-impedance gradient materials, establishes a transmission model of shock waves with changes in impedance layers, and quantitatively studies the influence of the change in wave impedance on the impact pressure, internal-energy conversion, and projectile- breaking characteristics by means of a numerical simulation. The results show that, when the surface and back of the wave-impedance gradient material are titanium alloy and nylon, respectively, the total transmission coefficient increases from 0.206 to a maximum of 0.339 with the continuous change in the gradient. The reduction amplitude of the shock wave with time under the three working conditions is Ti-Al-Mg-Ny > Ti-Al-Ny > Ti-Ny. The relationship of the transformed internal energy is Ti Al-Mg-Ny > Ti-Al-Ny > Ti-Ny, and the projectile breaking area is Ti-Al-Mg-Ny > Ti-Al-Ny > Ti-Ny. The analysis shows that the continuous change in wave impedance is beneficial to reduce the attenuation of the amplitude of the shock wave in the hypervelocity projectile, to keep the stress amplitude of the shock wave at a higher level, and to improve the internal-energy conversion and impact-breaking degree of the projectile, thereby enhancing the protection performance of the wave-impedance gradient material. As a critical transformational process in the attributes of epithelial cells, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is involved in tumor invasion, metastasis, and resistance to treatment, which contributes to the ultimate death of some patients with breast cancer. Glycogen synthase kinase-3-beta (GSK3β) is thought to be an EMT suppressor that down-regulates the protein, snail, a zinc finger transcription inhibitor, and regulates E-cadherin expression and the Wnt signaling pathway. Our previous studies have shown that Notch3 also inhibits EMT in breast cancer. In mammary gland cells, GSK3β physically bound and phosphorylated the intracellular domain of two Notch paralogs: N1ICD was positively regulated, but N2ICD was negatively regulated; however, the relationship between Notch3, GSK3β, and EMT in breast cancer is still unclear and crosstalk between Notch3 and GSK3β has not been widely investigated. In this study, we revealed that Notch3 was an essential antagonist of EMT in breast cancer cells by transcriptionally upregulating GSK3β. In breast cancer, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines, the silencing of Notch3 reduced GSK3β expression, which is sufficient to induce EMT. Conversely, ectopic Notch3 expression re-activated GSK3β and E-cadherin. Mechanistically, Notch3 can bind to the GSK3β promoter directly and activate GSK3β transcription. In human breast cancer samples, Notch3 expression is positively associated with GSK3β (r = 0.416, p = 0.001); moreover, high expressions of Notch3 and GSK3β mRNA are correlated to better relapse-free survival in all breast cancer patients via analysis in "the Kaplan–Meier plotter" database. In summary, our preliminary results suggested that Notch3 might inhibit EMT by trans-activating GSK3β in breast cancer cells. In marine environments, microbial attacks on metallic materials result in microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), which could cause severe safety accidents and high economic losses. To date, MIC of a number of metallic materials ranging from common steels to corrosion-resistant ferrous alloys has been reported. The MIC process has been explained based on (1) bio-catalyzed oxygen reduction; (2) kinetics alternation of the corrosion process by increasing the mass transport of the reactants and products; (3) production of corrosive substances; and (4) generation of auxiliary cathodic reactants. However, it is difficult to have a clear understanding of the MIC mechanism of ferrous alloys due to the interdisciplinary nature of MIC and lack of deep knowledge about the interfacial reaction between the biofilm and ferrous alloys. In order to better understand the effect of the MIC process on ferrous alloys, here we comprehensively summarized the process of biofilm formation and MIC mechanisms of ferrous alloys.
