We present a deep learning (DL) network-based approach for detecting and semantically segmenting two specific types of tuberculosis (TB) lesions in chest X-ray (CXR) images. In the proposed method, we use a basic U-Net model and its enhanced versions to detect, classify, and segment TB lesions in CXR images. The model architectures used in this study are U-Net, Attention U-Net, U-Net++, Attention U-Net++, and pyramid spatial pooling (PSP) Attention U-Net++, which are optimized and compared based on the test results of each model to find the best parameters. Finally, we use four ensemble approaches which combine the top five models to further improve lesion classification and segmentation results. In the training stage, we use data augmentation and preprocessing methods to increase the number and strength of lesion features in CXR images, respectively. Our dataset consists of 110 training, 14 validation, and 98 test images. The experimental results show that the proposed ensemble model achieves a maximum mean intersection-over-union (MIoU) of 0.70, a mean precision rate of 0.88, a mean recall rate of 0.75, a mean F1-score of 0.81, and an accuracy of 1.0, which are all better than those of only using a single-network model. With the rising demand for the transmission of large amounts of information over long distances, the development of integrated light circuits is the key to improving this technology, and silicon photonics have been developed with low absorption in the near-infrared range and with sophisticated fabrication techniques. To build devices that work in different functionalities, photonic crystals are one of the most used structures due to their ability to manipulate light. The investigation of photonic crystals requires the calculation of photonic band structures and is usually time-consuming work. To reduce the time spent on calculations, a trained ANN is introduced in this study to directly predict the band structures using only a minimal amount of pre-calculated band structure data. A well-used 1-D fishbone-like photonic crystal in the form of a nanobeam is used as the training target, and the influence of adjusting the geometric parameters is discussed, especially the lattice constant and the thickness of the nanobeam. To train the ANN with very few band structures, each of the mode points in the band structure is considered as a single datapoint to increase the amount of training data. The objective of this paper is to present a novel design of intelligent neuro-supervised networks (INSNs) in order to study the dynamics of a mathematical model for Parkinson's disease illness (PDI), governed with three differential classes to represent the rhythms of brain electrical activity measurements at different locations in the cerebral cortex. The proposed INSNs are constructed by exploiting the knacks of multilayer structure neural networks back-propagated with the Levenberg–Marquardt (LM) and Bayesian regularization (BR) optimization approaches. The reference data for the grids of input and the target samples of INSNs were formulated with a reliable numerical solver via the Adams method for sundry scenarios of PDI models by way of variation of sensor locations in order to measure the impact of the rhythms of brain electrical activity. The designed INSNs for both backpropagation procedures were implemented on created datasets segmented arbitrarily into training, testing, and validation samples by optimization of mean squared error based fitness function. Comparison of outcomes on the basis of exhaustive simulations of proposed INSNs via both LM and BR methodologies was conducted with reference solutions of PDI models by means of learning curves on MSE, adaptive control parameters of algorithms, absolute error, histogram error plots, and regression index. The outcomes endorse the efficacy of both INSNs solvers for different scenarios in PDI models, but the accuracy of the BR-based method is relatively superior, albeit at the cost of slightly more computations. With the proliferating IoT devices triggering a continual data upsurge, the cloud–IoT interaction encounters latency, bandwidth, and connectivity restraints. The inclusion of the decentralized and distributed fog computing layer amidst the cloud and IoT layer extends the cloud's processing, storage, and networking services close to end users. This hierarchical edge–fog–cloud model distributes computation and intelligence, yielding optimal solutions while tackling constraints like massive data volume, latency, delay, and security vulnerability. The healthcare domain, warranting time-critical functionalities, can reap benefits from the cloud–fog–IoT interplay. This research paper propounded a fog-assisted smart healthcare system to diagnose heart or cardiovascular disease. It combined a fuzzy inference system (FIS) with the recurrent neural network model's variant of the gated recurrent unit (GRU) for pre-processing and predictive analytics tasks. The proposed system showcases substantially improved performance results, with classification accuracy at 99.125%. With major processing of healthcare data analytics happening at the fog layer, it is observed that the proposed work reveals optimized results concerning delays in terms of latency, response time, and jitter, compared to the cloud. Several advances in computing facilities were made due to the advancement of science and technology, including the implementation of automation in multi-specialty hospitals. This research aims to develop an efficient deep-learning-based brain-tumor (BT) detection scheme to detect the tumor in FLAIR- and T2-modality magnetic-resonance-imaging (MRI) slices. MRI slices of the axial-plane brain are used to test and verify the scheme. The reliability of the developed scheme is also verified through clinically collected MRI slices. In the proposed scheme, the following stages are involved: (i) pre-processing the raw MRI image, (ii) deep-feature extraction using pretrained schemes, (iii) watershed-algorithm-based BT segmentation and mining the shape features, (iv) feature optimization using the elephant-herding algorithm (EHA), and (v) binary classification and verification using three-fold cross-validation. Using (a) individual features, (b) dual deep features, and (c) integrated features, the BT-classification task is accomplished in this study. Each experiment is conducted separately on the chosen BRATS and TCIA benchmark MRI slices. This research indicates that the integrated feature-based scheme helps to achieve a classification accuracy of 99.6667% when a support-vector-machine (SVM) classifier is considered. Among various eye diseases, glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness. Glaucoma is also one of the most common eye diseases in Taiwan. Glaucoma screenings can use optical coherence tomography (OCT) to locate areas in which the retinal nerve fiber layer is thinning. However, because OCT equipment is costly, only large hospitals with well-equipped facilities will have OCT, and regular eye clinics cannot afford such expensive equipment. This has caused many glaucoma patients to worsen because they cannot get an early diagnosis in regular eye clinics in time. This paper proposes a method of using a generative adversarial network (GAN) to generate corresponding OCT images from fundus images to assist family doctors in judging whether further examination is needed based on the generated OCT images to achieve early detection and treatment of glaucoma. In addition, in order to improve the classification accuracy of the system deployed in different hospitals or clinics, this paper also proposes to use the incremental training method to fine-tune the model. The model can be quickly applied by adding a small number of images from a specific clinic or hospital. Experimental results show that the cosine similarity between the generated OCT image and the real OCT image is 97.8%. Combined with the proposed transfer learning method, the classification accuracy of the classification model reaches 83.17%. As well as the use of the incremental method, the accuracy of identifying glaucoma is approximately 78.94%, which is 8.77% higher than the 70.17% accuracy of the initial model. Digital shearography is a technique that has recently been applied to material inspections that cannot be performed by the naked eyes, including the detection of air bubble defects in tires. Although digital shearography detects bubbles that are not visible to the naked eyes, the process of determining tire defects still relies on field operators, with inconsistent results depending on the experiences of the field operator personnel. New or different types of bubble defects that AI models have not previously recognized are often missed, resulting in an inadequate quality detection model. In this paper, we propose a bubble defect detection method based on an incremental YOLO architecture. The data for this research was provided by the largest tire manufacturer in Taiwan. In our research, we classify the defects into six distinct categories, pre-process the images to allow better detections of less-noticeable defects, increase the amount of training data used, and generate an initial training model with the YOLO framework. We also propose an incremental YOLO method using small-model training for previously unobserved defects to improve the model detection rate. We have observed detection accuracy and sensitivity of 98% and 90% in the experimental results, respectively. Current surveillance systems frequently use fixed-angle cameras and record a feed from those cameras. There are several disadvantages to such systems, including a low resolution for far away objects, a limited frame range and wasted disk space. This paper presents a novel algorithm for automatically detecting, tracking and zooming in on active targets. The object tracking system is connected to a camera that has a 360° horizontal and 90° vertical movement range. The combination of tracking, movement identification and zoom means that the system is able to effectively improve the resolution of small or distant objects. The object detection system allows for the disk space to be conserved as the system ceases recording when no valid targets are detected. Using an adaptive object segmentation algorithm, it is possible to detect the shape of moving objects efficiently. When processing multiple targets, each target is assigned a color and is treated separately. The tracking algorithm is able to adapt to targets moving at different speeds and is able to control the camera according to a predictive formula to prevent the loss of image quality due to camera trail. In the test environment, the zoom can sufficiently lock onto the head of a moving human; however, simultaneous tracking and zooming occasionally results in a failure to track. Reinforcement learning (RL) with both exploration and exploit abilities is applied to games to demonstrate that it can surpass human performance. This paper mainly applies Deep Q-Network (DQN), which combines reinforcement learning and deep learning to the real-time action response of NS-SHAFT game with Cheat Engine as the API of game information autonomously. Based on a personal computer, we build an experimental learning environment that automatically captures the NS-SHAFT's frame, which is provided to DQN to decide the action of moving left, moving right, or stay in same location, survey different parameters: such as the sample frequency, different reward function, and batch size, etc. The experiment found that the relevant parameter settings have a certain degree of influence on the DQN learning effect. Moreover, we use Cheat Engine as the API of NS-SHAFT game information to locate the relevant values in the NS-SHAFT game, and then read the relevant values to achieve the operation of the overall experimental platform and the calculation of Reward. In this paper, a method for automatically separating the mixed circular fringe patterns based on the fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) analysis is proposed. Considering the mixed two-dimensional (2-D) Gaussian-based circular fringe patterns, detected by using an image sensor, we propose a method that can efficiently determine the number and parameters of each separated fringe patterns by using the FrFT due to the observed higher sparsity in the frequency domain than that in the spatial domain. First, we review the theory of FrFT and the properties of the 2-D circular fringe patterns. By searching the spectral intensities of the various fractional orders in the FrFT projected along both the frequency axes, the proposed method can automatically determine the total fringe number, the central position, binary phase, and the maximum fringe width of each 2-D circular fringe pattern. In the experimental results, both the computer-simulated and optically mixed fringe patterns are used to verify the proposed method. In addition, the additive Gaussian noise effects on the proposed method are investigated. The essential use of natural language processing is to analyze the sentiment of the author via the context. This sentiment analysis (SA) is said to determine the exactness of the underlying emotion in the context. It has been used in several subject areas such as stock market prediction, social media data on product reviews, psychology, judiciary, forecasting, disease prediction, agriculture, etc. Many researchers have worked on these areas and have produced significant results. These outcomes are beneficial in their respective fields, as they help to understand the overall summary in a short time. Furthermore, SA helps in understanding actual feedback shared across different platforms such as Amazon, TripAdvisor, etc. The main objective of this thorough survey was to analyze some of the essential studies done so far and to provide an overview of SA models in the area of emotion AI-driven SA. In addition, this paper offers a review of ontology-based SA and lexicon-based SA along with machine learning models that are used to analyze the sentiment of the given context. Furthermore, this work also discusses different neural network-based approaches for analyzing sentiment. Finally, these different approaches were also analyzed with sample data collected from Twitter. Among the four approaches considered in each domain, the aspect-based ontology method produced 83% accuracy among the ontology-based SAs, the term frequency approach produced 85% accuracy in the lexicon-based analysis, and the support vector machine-based approach achieved 90% accuracy among the other machine learning-based approaches. The aim of this paper is to distinguish the vehicle detection and count the class number in each classification from the inputs. We proposed the use of Fuzzy Guided Scale Choice (FGSC)-based SSD deep neural network architecture for vehicle detection and class counting with parameter optimization. The 'FGSC' blocks are integrated into the convolutional layers of the model, which emphasize essential features while ignoring less important ones that are not significant for the operation. We created the passing detection lines and class counting windows and connected them with the proposed FGSC-SSD deep neural network model. The 'FGSC' blocks in the convolution layer emphasize essential features and find out unnecessary features by using the scale choice method at the training stage and eliminate that significant speedup of the model. In addition, FGSC blocks avoided many unusable parameters in the saturation interval and improved the performance efficiency. In addition, the Fuzzy Sigmoid Function (FSF) increases the activation interval through fuzzy logic. While performing operations, the FGSC-SSD model reduces the computational complexity of convolutional layers and their parameters. As a result, the model tested Frames Per Second (FPS) on edge artificial intelligence (AI) and reached a real-time processing speed of 38.4 and an accuracy rate of more than 94%. To incur the memory interface and faster access of static RAM for near-threshold operation, a stable local bit-line static random-access memory (SRAM) architecture has been proposed along with the low-voltage pre-charged and negative local bit-line (NLBL) scheme. In addition to the low-voltage pre-charged and NLBL scheme being operated by the write bit-line column to work out for the write half-select condition. The proposed local bit-line SRAM design reduces variations and enhances the read stability, the write capacity, prevents the bit-line leakage current, and the designed pre-charged circuit has achieved an optimal pre-charge voltage during the near-threshold operation. Compared to the conventional 6 T SRAM design, the optimal pre-charge voltage has been improved up to 15% for the read static noise margin (RSNM) and the write delay enriched up to 22% for the proposed NLBL SRAM design which is energy-efficient. At 400 mV supply voltage and 25 MHz operating frequency, the read and write energy consumption is 0.22 pJ and 0.23 pJ respectively. After comparing with the related works, the access average energy (AAE) is lower than in other works. The overall performance for the proposed local bit-line SRAM has achieved the highest figure of merit (FoM). In recent years, chip design technology and AI (artificial intelligence) have made significant progress. This forces all of fields to investigate how to increase the competitiveness of products with machine learning technology. In this work, we mainly use deep learning coupled with motor control to realize the real-time interactive system of air hockey, and to verify the feasibility of machine learning in the real-time interactive system. In particular, we use the convolutional neural network YOLO ("you only look once") to capture the hockey current position. At the same time, the law of reflection and neural networking are applied to predict the end position of the puck Based on the predicted location, the system will control the stepping motor to move the linear slide to realize the real-time interactive air hockey system. The innovation in science and technical knowledge has prompted an enormous amount of information for the agrarian sector. Machine learning has risen with massive processing techniques to perceive new contingencies in agricultural development. Machine learning is a novel onset for the investigation and determination of unpredictable agrarian issues. Machine learning models actualize the need for scaling the learning model's performance. Feature selection can impact a machine learning model's performance by defining a significant feature subset for increasing the performance and identifying the variability. This paper explains a novel hybrid feature extraction procedure, which is an aggregation of the correlation-based filter (CFS) and random forest recursive feature elimination (RFRFE) wrapper framework. The proposed feature extraction approach aims to identify an optimal subclass of features from a collection of climate, soil, and groundwater characteristics for constructing a crop-yield forecasting machine learning model with better performance and accuracy. The model's precision and effectiveness are estimated (i) with all the features in the dataset, (ii) with essential features obtained using the learning algorithm's inbuilt 'feature_importances' method, and (iii) with the significant features obtained through the proposed hybrid feature extraction technique. The validation of the hybrid CFS and RFRFE feature extraction approach in terms of evaluation metrics, predictive accuracies, and diagnostic plot performance analysis in comparison with random forest, decision tree, and gradient boosting machine learning algorithms are found to be profoundly satisfying. The defective beans of coffee are categorized into black beans, fermented beans, moldy beans, insect damaged beans, parchment beans, and broken beans, and insect damaged beans are the most frequently seen type. In the past, coffee beans were manually screened and eye strain would induce misrecognition. This paper used a push-broom visible-near infrared (VIS-NIR) hyperspectral sensor to obtain the images of coffee beans, and further developed a hyperspectral insect damage detection algorithm (HIDDA), which can automatically detect insect damaged beans using only a few bands and one spectral signature. First, by taking advantage of the constrained energy minimization (CEM) developed band selection methods, constrained energy minimization-constrained band dependence minimization (CEM-BDM), minimum variance band prioritization (MinV-BP), maximal variance-based bp (MaxV-BP), sequential forward CTBS (SF-CTBS), sequential backward CTBS (SB-CTBS), and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to select the bands, and then two classifier methods were further proposed. One combined CEM with support vector machine (SVM) for classification, while the other used convolutional neural networks (CNN) and deep learning for classification where six band selection methods were then analyzed. The experiments collected 1139 beans and 20 images, and the results demonstrated that only three bands are really need to achieve 95% of accuracy and 90% of kappa coefficient. These findings show that 850–950 nm is an important wavelength range for accurately identifying insect damaged beans, and HIDDA can indeed detect insect damaged beans with only one spectral signature, which will provide an advantage in the process of practical application and commercialization in the future. With an increasing number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the digital world, the attack surface for consumer networks has been increasing exponentially. Most of the compromised devices are used as zombies for attacks such as Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS). Consumer networks, unlike most commercial networks, lack the infrastructure such as managed switches and firewalls to easily monitor and block undesired network traffic. To counter such a problem with limited resources, this article proposes a hybrid anomaly detection approach that detects irregularities in the network traffic implicating compromised devices by using only elementary network information like Packet Size, Source, and Destination Ports, Time between subsequent packets, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Flags, etc. Essential features can be extracted from the available data, which can further be used to detect zero-day attacks. Unipolar depression (UD), also referred to as clinical depression, appears to be a widespread mental disorder around the world. Further, this is a vital state related to a person's health that influences his/her daily routine. Besides, this state also influences the person's frame of mind, behavior, and several body functionalities like sleep, appetite, and also it can cause a scenario where a person could harm himself/herself or others. In several cases, it becomes an arduous task to detect UD, since, it is a state of comorbidity. For that reason, this research proposes a more convenient approach for the physicians to detect the state of clinical depression at an initial phase using an integrated multistage support vector machine model. Initially, the dataset is preprocessed using multiple imputation by chained equations (MICE) technique. Then, for selecting the appropriate features, the support vector machine-based recursive feature elimination (SVM RFE) is deployed. Subsequently, the integrated multistage support vector machine classifier is built by employing the bagging random sampling technique. Finally, the experimental outcomes indicate that the proposed integrated multistage support vector machine model surpasses methods such as logistic regression, multilayer perceptron, random forest, and bagging SVM (majority voting), in terms of overall performance. In recent times, the application of enabling technologies such as digital shearography combined with deep learning approaches in the smart quality assessment of tires, which leads to intelligent tire manufacturing practices with automated defects detection. Digital shearography is a prominent approach that can be employed for identifying the defects in tires, usually not visible to human eyes. In this research, the bubble defects in tire shearography images are detected using a unique ensemble hybrid amalgamation of the convolutional neural networks/ConvNets with high-performance Faster Region-based convolutional neural networks. It can be noticed that the routine of region-proposal generation along with object detection is accomplished using the ConvNets. Primarily, the sliding window based ConvNets are utilized in the proposed model for dividing the input shearography images into regions, in order to identify the bubble defects. Subsequently, this is followed by implementing the Faster Region-based ConvNets for identifying the bubble defects in the tire shearography images and further, it also helps to minimize the false-positive ratio (sometimes referred to as the false alarm ratio). Moreover, it is evident from the experimental results that the proposed hybrid model offers a cent percent detection of bubble defects in the tire shearography images. The present methods of diagnosing depression are entirely dependent on self-report ratings or clinical interviews. Those traditional methods are subjective, where the individual may or may not be answering genuinely to questions. In this paper, the data has been collected using self-report ratings and also using electronic smartwatches. This study aims to develop a weighted average ensemble machine learning model to predict major depressive disorder (MDD) with superior accuracy. The data has been pre-processed and the essential features have been selected using a correlation-based feature selection method. With the selected features, machine learning approaches such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and the proposed Weighted Average Ensemble Model are applied. Further, for assessing the performance of the proposed model, the Area under the Receiver Optimization Characteristic Curves has been used. One of the crucial elements in decision-making is the calculation of criteria weights. In this paper, a new Modified Integrated Weighting (MIW) method was proposed to combine the weights obtained using different weight calculation methods into a single set of weights. The weights express the relative significance of the criteria and play an essential role in making correct decisions. The proposed method considered both subjective knowledge of the experts and the objectivity of the problem by combining the subjective and objective weight assignment methods. The proposed weight calculation method was applied to the agriculture dataset for the evaluation of groundnut crop sites. A decision-making model was developed via the proposed MIW method and Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) method to rank the given groundnut crop site dataset. The ranking results of the developed decision model were compared with the ranking results of average yield data and other methods for validation purposes. The developed model exhibited better results for the given dataset and could be used to solve various other decision-making problems, thereby realizing sustainable development. As the field of data science grows, document analytics has become a more challenging task for rough classification, response analysis, and text summarization. These tasks are used for the analysis of text data from various intelligent sensing systems. The conventional approach for data analytics and text processing is not useful for big data coming from intelligent systems. This work proposes a novel TF/IDF algorithm with the temporal Louvain approach to solve the above problem. Such an approach is supposed to help the categorization of documents into hierarchical structures showing the relationship between variables, which is a boon to analysts making essential decisions. This paper used public corpora, such as Reuters-21578 and 20 Newsgroups for massive-data analytic experimentation. The result shows the efficacy of the proposed algorithm in terms of accuracy and execution time across six datasets. The proposed approach is validated to bring value to big text data analysis. Big data handling with map-reduce has led to tremendous growth and support for tasks like categorization, sentiment analysis, and higher-quality accuracy from the input data. The role of Information Technology based decision models for sustainable agriculture has gained immense prominence in recent years. Ranking of agriculture farms based on their yield plays a vital role in sustainable agriculture. In this work, an ensemble decision-making model, namely VIKOR (Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje), TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution), entropy, and standard deviation (VTOPES), is proposed for ranking the sustainable sugarcane farms. VTOPES system model comprises of four significant steps: (i) determination of significance scores of the sub-parameters, (ii) transformation of sub-parameter sequences into main parameter values, (iii) computation of significant scores of main parameters, and (iv) generation of assessment values and deploying it for ranking the sugarcane farms. The ranking results of the proposed VTOPES model are compared with the ranking patterns obtained from five years average yield data acquired from the selected sugarcane farms. Moreover, the outcomes of the VTOPES model are also compared with other prevalent methods. Subsequently, Spearman's rank correlation method is applied for evaluating the impact of correlation of VTOPES ranks in comparison with the average yield ranks. Thus, it can be noticed that the empirical results of the VTOPES model provide reliable and sustainable results. Cleaning robot has the highest penetration rate among the service robots. This paper proposes a high-efficiency mechanism for an intelligent cleaning robot automatically returns to charging in a short time when the power is insufficient. The proposed mechanism initially combines the robot's own motor encoder with neural network linear regression to calculate the moving distance and rotation angle for the location estimation of the robot itself. At the same time, a self-rotating camera is applied to scan the number of infrared spots on the docking station to find the location of the docking station so that the cleaning robot returns to charging properly in two stages, existing infrared range and extended infrared range. In addition, six-axis acceleration and ultrasound are both applied to deal with the angle error that is caused by collision. In recent years, there are several cost-effective intelligent sensing systems such as ultrasound imaging systems for visualizing the internal body structures of the body. Further, such intelligent sensing systems such as ultrasound systems have been deployed by medical doctors around the globe for efficient detection of several diseases and disorders in the human body. Even though the ultrasound sensing system is a useful tool for obtaining the imagery of various body parts, there is always a possibility of inconsistencies in these images due to the variation in the settings of the system parameters. Therefore, in order to overcome such issues, this research devises an SVM-enabled intelligent genetic algorithmic model for choosing the universal features with four distinct settings of the parameters. Subsequently, the distinguishing characteristics of these features are assessed utilizing the Sorensen-Dice coefficient, T-test, and Pearson's R measure. It is apparent from the results of the SVM-enabled intelligent genetic algorithmic model that this approach aids in the effectual selection of universal features for the breast cyst images.
