An ultrafast microwave ranging method based on optically generated frequency-modulated microwave pulses is proposed in this study. The theoretical analysis demonstrated that nanosecond-scale linear frequency modulation microwave pulse can be obtained by femtosecond laser interference under the condition of unbalanced dispersion, which can be used to achieve a high temporal resolution of the displacement change in the measurement by the principle of frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) radar. The proof-of-principle experiment successfully measured the displacement change with an error of 2.5 mm and a range of 0.6 m, with a response time of 468 ns. Compared to existing microwave ranging technologies, the temporal resolution was improved by two orders of magnitude, which greatly improves the temporal resolution of distance measurement in the field of microwave FMCW radar. In order to reduce the frequency of high-frequency Doppler signal light, the electronic bandwidth of a data acquisition system is reduced. This paper mainly describes the principle and experimental verification results of optical multistage cascade frequency reduction technology. The bandwidth requirement of the detector and the oscilloscope is reduced by the method of "relaying" the measured beat frequency signal between multiple electronic channels. Aiming to achieve the requirement of ultra-high speed measurement of 22 km/s, the requirement of the original signal frequency as high as 28 GHz electrical bandwidth is reduced to the acquisition and recording system with only 8 GHz bandwidth. This study included 468 patients and aimed to use multimodal ultrasound radiomic technology to predict the malignancy of TI-RADS 4-5 thyroid nodules. First, radiomic features are extracted from conventional two-dimensional ultrasound (transverse ultrasound and longitudinal ultrasound), strain elastography (SE), and shear-wave-imaging (SWE) images. Next, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) is used to screen out features related to malignant tumors. Finally, a support vector machine (SVM) is used to predict the malignancy of thyroid nodules. The Shapley additive explanation (SHAP) method was used to intuitively analyze the specific contributions of radiomic features to the model's prediction. Our proposed model has AUCs of 0.971 and 0.856 in the training and testing sets, respectively. Our proposed model has a higher prediction accuracy compared to those of models with other modal combinations. In the external validation set, the AUC of the model is 0.779, which proves that the model has good generalization ability. Moreover, SHAP analysis was used to examine the overall impacts of various radiomic features on model predictions and local explanations for individual patient evaluations. Our proposed multimodal ultrasound radiomic model can effectively integrate different data collected using multiple ultrasound sensors and has good diagnostic performance for TI-RADS 4-5 thyroid nodules. The study of high-pressure sound velocity is an important part of shock wave physics, and the study of ultra-high pressure sound velocity of iron is of great significance to many research fields such as geophysics, solid state physics, and crystallography. At present, the measurement of sound velocity is usually carried out by the catch-up sparse wave method and windowed VISAR technology, which is complex in structure and not highly adaptable. In particular, for the ultra-high pressure sonic velocity measurement of metals, it is limited by the loading platform and window materials and cannot realize the high temperature and high-pressure environment of the earth's inner core. In this paper, the sound velocity measurement of iron under high temperature and high-pressure environment (78 GPa) is realized based on the two-stage light gas cannon experimental platform. The side-side sparse wave method was used to establish a coupling model of high-spatially resolved optical group and fiber bundle. A multiplexed all-fiber laser interferometry velocity measurement system (DISAR) was built, and the spatial resolution was better than 20 μm. The fluid pump was the key component of the formation tester; the pump cylinder, piston, and piston rod of the fluid pump often suffer from wear scratches and seal failure, which greatly reduces the service reliability of the instrument. To improve the wear resistance of the fluid pump, 17-4PH steel specimens were treated by boronizing at 750 °C for 20 h. Specimens with and without boronizing were studied by OM, SEM, XRD, microhardness test, and wear resistance test. Layers of about 60 μm thickness formed during boronization contain a mixture of FeB, CrB, and α(B)-Fe phases, which leads to a significant improvement in microhardness (from 336 to 980 HV) and wear rate (from 16.4 × 10−5 mm3/Nm to 3.3 × 10−5 mm3/Nm). The pump cylinder and the fluid-pump piston rod were boronized and assembled into the pumping module, which passed the indoor durability test for 90 h and did not show obvious surface wear after 60 h of field experience. Unveiling the mechanical properties and damage mechanism of the complex composite structure, comprising backfill and surrounding rock, is crucial for ensuring the safe development of the downward-approach backfill mining method. This work conducts biaxial compression tests on backfill–rock under various loading conditions. The damage process is analyzed using DIC and acoustic emission (AE) techniques, while the distribution of AE events at different loading stages is explored. Additionally, the dominant failure forms of specimens are studied through multifractal analysis. The damage evolution law of backfill–rock combinations is elucidated. The results indicate that DIC and AE provide consistent descriptions of specimen damage, and the damage evolution of backfill–rock composite specimens varies notably under different loading conditions, offering valuable insights for engineering site safety protection. Optical up-conversion photonic Doppler velocimetry (PDV) based on stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) with an all-fiber link structure is proposed in this article. Because SBS limits the laser power transmitted by a fiber over long distances, the probe does not have enough outgoing light to reach the measured surface and cannot receive the signal light. Traditionally, SBS is avoided, but it is a phase-conjugated light and shifts down relative to the source light, so it can be used as a reference light in the laser interference structure to achieve up-conversion heterodyne velocimetry. Compared with general homodyne velocimetry (DPS), SBS-PDV naturally upconverts and has more interference fringes and higher resolution at low-speed measurement. In the gas multiple reflection impact compression experiment, the velocity measurement results of SBS-PDV and dual-laser heterodyne Velocimetry (DLHV) are basically consistent, and the accuracy is better than 0.8%. Due to its coaxial heterodyne optical path, this kind of photonic Doppler velocimetry is suitable for low-velocity and long-distance practical applications in the field of shock wave physics. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a prevalent type of thoracic cancer with a poor prognosis and high mortality rate. However, the exact pathogenesis of this cancer is still not fully understood. One potential factor that can contribute to the development of lung adenocarcinoma is DNA methylation, which can cause changes in chromosome structure and potentially lead to the formation of tumors. The baculoviral IAP repeat containing the 5 (BIRC5) gene encodes the Survivin protein, which is a multifunctional gene involved in cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of tumor cells. This gene is elevated in various solid tumors, but its specific role and mechanism in lung adenocarcinoma are not well-known. To identify the potential biomarkers associated with lung adenocarcinoma, we screened the methylation-regulated differentially expressed genes (MeDEGs) of LUAD via bioinformatics analysis. Gene ontology (GO) process and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) were applied to investigate the biological function and pathway of MeDEGs. A protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was employed to explore the key module and screen hub genes. We screened out eight hub genes whose products are aberrantly expressed, and whose DNA methylation modification level is significantly changed in lung adenocarcinoma. BIRC5 is a bona fide marker which was remarkably up-regulated in tumor tissues. Flow cytometry analysis, lactate dehydrogenase release (LDH) assay and Micro-PET imaging were performed in A549 cells and a mouse xenograft tumor to explore the function of BIRC5 in cell death of lung adenocarcinoma. We found that BIRC5 was up-regulated and related to a high mortality rate in lung adenocarcinoma patients. Mechanically, the knockdown of BIRC5 inhibited the proliferation of A549 cells and induced pyroptosis via caspase3/GSDME signaling. Our findings have unraveled that BIRC5 holds promise as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target for lung adenocarcinoma. A microwave absolute distance measurement method with ten-micron-level accuracy and meter-level range based on frequency domain interferometry is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time. Theoretical analysis indicates that an interference phenomenon occurs instantaneously in the frequency domain when combining two homologous broad-spectrum microwave beams with different paths, and the absolute value of the distance difference between the two paths is only inversely proportional to the period of frequency domain interference fringes. The proof-of-principle experiments were performed to prove that the proposed method can achieve absolute distance measurement in the X-band with standard deviations of 15 μm, 17 μm, and 26 μm and within ranges of 1.69 m, 2.69 m, and 3.75 m. Additionally, a displacement resolution of 100 microns was realized. The multi-target recognition performance was also verified in principle. Furthermore, at the expense of a slight decrease in ranging accuracy, a fast distance measurement with the single measurement time of 20 μs was achieved by using a digitizer combined with a Fourier transform analyzer. Compared with the current microwave precision ranging technologies, the proposed method not only has the advantages of high precision, large range, and rapid measurement capability, but the required components are also easily obtainable commercial devices. The proposed method also has better complex engineering applicability, because the ten-micron-level ranging accuracy is achievable only by using a simple Fourier transform without any phase estimation algorithm, which greatly reduces the requirement for signal-to-noise ratio. Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is widely recognized as a major contributing factor to the development of heart failure in patients with diabetes. Previous studies have demonstrated the potential benefits of traditional herbal medicine for alleviating the symptoms of cardiomyopathy. We have chemically designed and synthesized a novel compound called aloe-emodin derivative (AED), which belongs to the aloe-emodin (AE) family of compounds. AED was formed by covalent binding of monomethyl succinate to the anthraquinone mother nucleus of AE using chemical synthesis techniques. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects and mechanisms of AED in treating DCM. We induced type 2 diabetes in Sprague–Dawley (SD) rats by administering a high-fat diet and streptozotocin (STZ) injections. The rats were randomly divided into six groups: control, DCM, AED low concentration (50 mg/kg/day), AED high concentration (100 mg/kg/day), AE (100 mg/kg/day), and positive control (glyburide, 2 mg/kg/day) groups. There were eight rats in each group. The rats that attained fasting blood glucose of ˃16.7 mmol/L were considered successful models. We observed significant improvements in cardiac function in the DCM rats with both AED and AE following four weeks of intragastric treatment. However, AED had a more pronounced therapeutic effect on DCM compared to AE. AED exhibited an inhibitory effect on the inflammatory response in the hearts of DCM rats and high-glucose-treated H9C2 cells by suppressing the pyroptosis pathway mediated by the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor pyrin domain 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis of differentially expressed genes showed a significant enrichment in the NOD-like receptor signaling pathway compared to the high-glucose group. Furthermore, overexpression of NLRP3 effectively reversed the anti-pyroptosis effects of AED in high-glucose-treated H9C2 cells. This study is the first to demonstrate that AED possesses the ability to inhibit myocardial pyroptosis in DCM. Targeting the pyroptosis pathway mediated by the NLRP3 inflammasome could provide a promising therapeutic strategy to enhance our understanding and treatment of DCM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells had attracted extensive attention due to their high-power conversion efficiency and low cost. The morphology and structure of the light absorption layer are crucially important for the device performance. The one-dimensional or two dimensional nano-structure perovskite material exhibits better optical and electrical properties than three-dimensional bulk perovskite. In this article, the perovskite CH3NH3PbI3 thin films with one-dimensional nanowires structure were prepared while using the solution method with N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mixed solvent under atmospheric environment. During the perovskite thin films growth, the DMSO solvent as a structure directing agent played a guiding role in the formation of nanowires. The effects of DMSO solvent added ratio on the perovskite thin film structure, morphology, optical properties, and the device performance were studied. By changing the ratio of DMSO solvent added can effectively adjust the orientation order and optical properties of the nanowires perovskite thin films. The results showed that the best ratio of DMSO solvent added in the mixed solvent was 10%. The high order orientation of the perovskite thin film with nanowires forest was obtained. It showed the high optical absorption and electrical properties. The perovskite absorption layer presents ordered and dispersed nanowires forest; the device power conversation efficiency is increased by 50% when compared with the perovskite layer presents disordered nanowires.
