Neighboring relationships among plants have been extensively reported, but little is known about the effect of waterlogging. In this study, Cleistocalyx operculatus (Roxb.) Merr. and Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen saplings were used in investigating the neighboring relationships between legumes and non-leguminous woody plants under different planting and watering regimes. Results showed that C. operculatus and D. odorifera are waterlogging-tolerant species, and C. operculatus with high proportion of adventitious roots would be at an advantage during waterlogging. The growth performance of D. odorifera was better than that of C. operculatus under well-watered single-planting conditions. However, under well-watered mixed-planting conditions, C. operculatus had an obvious inhibitory effect on the growth traits (increments in stem height and leaf number, total leaf area, and total plant fresh weight) and physiological responses (net photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, and transpiration) of D. odorifera, whereas the growth of C. operculatus slightly increased in the presence of D. odorifera. Under waterlogging mixed-planting conditions, the facilitative effect was more intensive; the total leaf area, underground fresh weight, and total plant fresh weight of C. operculatus significantly increased, but a negative effect was found in D. odorifer. These results showed that the neighboring relationship between these two species is predominantly favorable to C. operculatus. This research sheds new light on screening waterlogging-tolerant arbor species and species collocation during vegetation restoration and reconstruction activities in wetland systems. The direct conversion of biomass-derived ethanol to high-valued-added chemicals has attracted widespread attention recently due to the great economic and environmental advantages. In the present study, the conversion of bioethanol through the Guerbet coupling process was studied in a fixed-bed reactor for MgAlOx and ZnAlOx mixed-oxides supported Cu catalysts. From the results, Cu adding into the system greatly enhance the dehydrogenation of ethanol and increase the H-transfer in the course of Guerbet coupling process. Simultaneously, the porous mixed-oxides provide the acid-base property of the catalysts for intermediate transformation. Notably, for Cu/MgAlOx, the main product of ethanol conversion is butanol, but for Cu/ZnAlOx, the primary product is ethyl acetate. Characterizations such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) and CO2 temperature programmed desorption (TPD) were carried out to evaluate the structure and property of the catalysts. Macroeconomic stability is the core concept of sustainable development. However, the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has caused government debt problems worldwide. In this context, it is of practical significance to study the impact of government debt on economic growth and fluctuations. Based on panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2019, we used the Mann–Kendall method and Kernel Density estimation to analyze the temporal and spatial evolution of China's provincial government debt ratio and adopted a panel model and HP filtering method to study the impact of provincial government debt on economic growth and fluctuation. Our findings indicate that, during the sample period, China's provincial government debt promoted economic growth and the regression coefficient (0.024) was significant. From different regional perspectives, the promotion effect of the central region (0.027) is higher than that of the eastern (0.020) and western regions (0.023). There is a nonlinear relationship between China's provincial government debt and economic growth, showing an inverted "U-shaped" curve. Fluctuations in government debt aggravate economic volatility, with a coefficient of 0.009; tax burden fluctuation and population growth rate aggravate economic changes. In contrast, the optimization of the province's industrial structure and the improvement of the opening level of provinces slow down economic fluctuations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To reveal the nature of SO2 poisoning over Cu-SSZ-13 catalyst under actual exhaust conditions, the catalyst was pretreated at 200 and 500 °C in a flow containing NH3, NO, O2, SO2, and H2O. Brunner−Emmet−Teller (BET), X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA), ultraviolet Raman spectroscopy (UV Raman), temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (H2-TPR), temperature-programmed desorption of NO+O2 (NO+O2-TPD), NH3-TPD, in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (in situ DRIFTS), and an activity test were utilized to monitor the changes of Cu-SSZ-13 before and after in situ SO2 poisoning. According to the characterization results, the types and generated amount of sulfated species were directly related to poisoning temperature. Three sulfate species, including (NH4)2SO4, CuSO4, and Al2(SO4)3, were found to form on CZ-S-200, while only the latter two sulfate species were observed over CZ-S-500. Furthermore, SO2 poisoning had a negative effect on low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) activity, which was mainly due to the sulfation of active sites, including Z2Cu, ZCuOH, and Si-O(H)-Al. In contrast, SO2 poisoning had a positive effect on high-temperature SCR activity, owing to the inhibition of the NH3 oxidation reaction. The above findings may be a useful guideline to design excellent SO2-resistant Cu-based zeolite catalysts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
