Computer tomography (CT), combined with advanced image processing techniques, can be used to visualize the complex internal structures of living and non-living media in a non-destructive, intuitive, and precise manner in both two and three-dimensional spaces. Beyond its clinical uses, CT has been extensively employed within the field of geotechnical engineering to provide both qualitative and quantitative analyses of the microstructural properties of loess. This technology has been successfully applied in many fields. However, with the rapid development of CT technology and the expansion of its application scope, a reassessment is necessary. In recent years, only a few documents have attempted to organize and review the application cases of CT in the field of loess microstructure research. Therefore, the objectives of this work are as follows: (1) to briefly introduce the development process of CT equipment and the basic principles of CT and image processing; (2) to determine the current state and hotspots of CT technology research based on a bibliometric analysis of the literature from the past three decades in the Web of Science Core Collection and CNKI databases; and (3) to comprehensively review the application of CT to explore the microstructural characteristics (such as particle size, shape, arrangement, and the connectivity, orientation, and pore throats of pores, etc.) and the evolution of structural damage in loess within geotechnical science. Background: Angiogenesis is essential for various physiological and pathological processes, such as embryonic development and cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play pivotal roles in normal homeostasis and disease processes by regulating gene expression through various mechanisms, including competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) of target microRNAs (miRNAs). The lncRNA MYU is known to promote prostate cancer proliferation via the miR-184/c-Myc regulatory axis and to be upregulated in vascular endothelial cells under hypoxic conditions, which often occurs in solid tumors. In the present study, we investigated whether MYU might affect cancer growth by regulating angiogenesis in vascular endothelial cells under hypoxia. Methods: The expression of MYU-regulated miR-23a-3p and interleukin-8 (IL-8) in HUVEC cell lines was examined using qRT-PCR. The CCK-8 assay, EdU assay, wound-healing assay, and tube-formation assay were used to assess the effects of MYU on cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVEC cells in vitro. The dual-luciferase reporter assay was performed to examine the effects of miR-23a-3p on MYU and IL-8 expression. Results: We found that the overexpression of MYU and knockdown of miR-23a-3p in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) under hypoxia promoted cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation. Mechanistically, MYU was shown to bind competitively to miR-23a-3p, thereby preventing miR-23a-3p binding to the 3′ untranslated region of IL-8 mRNA. In turn, increased production of pro-angiogenic IL-8 promoted HUVEC proliferation, migration, and tube formation under hypoxia. Conclusion: This study identified a new role for lncRNA MYU as a ceRNA for miR-23a-3p and uncovered a novel MYU–miR-23a-3p–IL-8 regulatory axis for angiogenesis. This article presents the distinctive butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) fluorescent probe P5, designed via a targeting-site method. This method was proposed to enhance the affinity of the probe for BChE by targeting the peripheral anionic site (PAS) of BChE. By mimicking the natural substrate butyrylcholine, the structure of the probe was optimized by introducing a positive charge. Fluorescent probe P5, selected from a series of designed fluorescent probes P1–P6, exhibited excellent affinity and specificity towards BChE, enabling rapid detection within 5 min with a low detection limit of 16.7 ng/mL. Furthermore, this probe can distinguish between normal cells and Alzheimer's disease (AD) model cells, and demonstrated good imaging results in a P12 cell AD model. Fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF5) plays key roles in promoting the transition from the anagen to catagen during the hair follicle cycle. The sheep serves as an excellent model for studying hair growth and is frequently utilized in various research processes related to human skin diseases. We used the CRISPR/Cas9 system to generate four FGF5-edited Dorper sheep and only low levels of FGF5 were detected in the edited sheep. The density of fine wool in GE sheep was markedly increased, and the proportion of fine wool with a diameter of 14.4–20.0 μm was significantly higher. The proliferation signal in the skin of gene-edited (GE) sheep was stronger than in wild-type (WT) sheep. FGF5 editing decreased cortisol concentration in the skin, further activated the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and regulated the expression of Wnt signaling pathways containing Wnt agonists (Rspondins, Rspos) and antagonists (Notum) in hair regeneration. We suggest that FGF5 not only mediates the activation of antioxidant pathways by cortisol, which constitutes a highly coordinated microenvironment in hair follicle cells, but also influences key signals of the Wnt pathway to regulate secondary hair follicle (SHF) development. Overall, our findings here demonstrate that FGF5 plays a significant role in regulating SHF growth in sheep and potentially serves as a molecular marker of fine wool growth in sheep breeding. Simple Summary: Three trichomonad species (Tritrichomonas foetus, Tetratrichomonas buttreyi, and Pentatrichomonas hominis) may affect pig production. Moreover, P. hominis is a zoonotic species. In the current investigation, 362 fecal samples collected from pigs in three representative counties in Shanxi Province, North China, were molecularly tested for the three trichomonad species. The results showed that T. buttreyi was detected as the most common species, with a prevalence of 49.72%. Its prevalence was associated with region and age. Only one sample was tested positive for T. foetus, and this isolate showed minor allelic variations compared with those reported previously. For T. buttreyi, eight distinct sequence types were obtained, and only two displayed 100% nucleotide homology with the corresponding sequences reported previously. For the first time, we reported the prevalence and genetic characterization of T. foetus and T. buttreyi in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China, which provides baseline information for planning control strategies. Several trichomonad species have already been identified in pigs, and their pathogenic potential may not be ruled out. To date, however, no information is available regarding the prevalence of trichomonads in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China. In the present study, a total of 362 fecal samples collected from pigs in three representative counties (Qi, Jishan, and Shanyin) in this province were examined for Tetratrichomonas buttreyi, Tritrichomonas foetus, and Pentatrichomonas hominis using a nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with primers targeting the small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA) gene. The overall prevalence of T. buttreyi was 49.72%, and region and age were found to be significantly associated with T. buttreyi infection, respectively. Only one pig fecal sample from Qi County was found to be positive for T. foetus, and all samples were negative for P. hominis. Molecular evolutionary analysis revealed that some T. buttreyi isolates showed complete genetic identity with those reported previously, and some T. buttreyi isolates and one T. foetus isolate showed minor allelic variations compared with those reported previously. This is the report of the molecular epidemiology of T. foetus and T. buttreyi in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China. These findings not only enrich the knowledge on the distribution of these trichomonad species in pigs in China but also provide baseline information for planning future research and control strategies. A modified plastic Burgers model considering cohesion decay is proposed for frozen soils. A series of triaxial compression and creep tests were conducted on a kind of frozen silty clay for obtaining the model parameters. According to typical triaxial creep strain curves with only a decaying creep stage, a deformation parameter calibration method for a plastic Burgers model is proposed, and the validity of the method was further verified. When the original plastic Burgers model was incorporated with a cohesion decay function, it was shown that the successive development process of frozen soil creep strain from the decaying to non-decaying stage could be described reasonably. The field of fluorescence sensing, leveraging various supramolecular self-assembled architectures constructed from macrocyclic pillar[n]arenes, has seen significant advancement in recent decades. This review comprehensively discusses, for the first time, the recent innovations in the synthesis and self-assembly of pillar[n]arene-based supramolecular architectures (PSAs) containing metal coordination sites, along with their practical applications and prospects in fluorescence sensing. Integrating hydrophobic and electron-rich cavities of pillar[n]arenes into these supramolecular structures endows the entire system with self-assembly behavior and stimulus responsiveness. Employing the host–guest interaction strategy and complementary coordination forces, PSAs exhibiting both intelligent and controllable properties are successfully constructed. This provides a broad horizon for advancing fluorescence sensors capable of detecting environmental pollutants. This review aims to establish a solid foundation for the future development of fluorescence sensing applications utilizing PSAs. Relay protection equipment (RPE) is a type of automation equipment aiming to protect power systems from further damage caused by local faults. It is thus important to ensure the normal operation of RPE. As the power density of electronic components continuously increases, the overheating problem of RPE cannot be neglected. Given the difficulties in implementing direct measurement and predicting development trends of RPE temperature, a novel hotspot temperature monitoring method for RPE was proposed, which is a data-driven method. The generative adversarial network, aided by a physical model, is used to address small samples. Afterwards, a stacked ensemble model established based on random forests was used to predict the hotspot temperature of the RPE. Experiment results show that the proposed method can effectively predict hotspot temperature of RPE with the predictive error lower than 2%. Protective relays play a fundamental role in power systems, whose functions consist of three parts, namely protection, automation, and control, thus called the PAC altogether. It turns out that the architecture of a PACS (protection, automation, and control system) may exert a direct impact on the reliability of protective relay systems, previous studies of which are often conducted on the assumption that intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) have a constant fault rate with only mission reliability of the systems considered. To obtain a more accurate evaluation of system reliability bearing system maintenance in mind, this article proposes a novel method to appraise the reliability of PACSs with integrated consideration of basic and mission reliability. Firstly, the basic reliability of IEDs is calculated by parts count prediction, which will provide a more precise fault rate of IEDs. Secondly, the reliability of PACSs is analyzed by the reliability diagram and Markov model. By using the parts count prediction method to calculate the failure rate of the device, the steady-state probability rate will be accurate more than 0.0107%. This paper proposes a novel voltage estimation scheme for the modular multilevel converter (MMC) based on model predictive control (MPC). The developed strategy is presented by combining a disturbance observer (DOB) with an adaptive neural network (ANN) for voltage estimation in the MMC. Firstly, the ac-side and dc bus voltages are estimated as the disturbance items of the DOB which acts as the cost function during each control cycle and ensures the minimal computational cost. Then, the submodule (SM) capacitor voltage estimation is achieved based on the ANN with the estimated ac-side and dc bus voltages. The proposed method requires only one current sensor per arm and has a simple structure with three weights to be adjusted. Comprehensive simulation studies and experiments are presented to demonstrate its effectiveness and feasibility. Simple Summary: This study employs maxent models to investigate the impact of climate change on the potential distribution of the Szechwan rat snake (Euprepiophis perlacea) in the Yingjing Area of the Giant Panda National Park. The analysis reveals the significant effects of distance from the streams and slope of the geographic distribution of E. perlacea. Furthermore, this study indicates a non-significant reduction in the potential distribution area for the species by the 2050s, which is attributed to reduced anthropogenic activities and habitat fragmentation within the Yingjing Area of the Giant Panda National Park. These findings validate the development of conservation guidelines for E. perlacea. More research is needed to identify suitable protected areas and wildlife corridors for E. perlacea across its distribution regions, thus enhancing its conservation prospects. Climate change is a significant driver of changes in the distribution patterns of species and poses a threat to biodiversity, potentially resulting in species extinctions. Investigating the potential distribution of rare and endangered species is crucial for understanding their responses to climate change and for the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem management. The Szechwan rat snake (Euprepiophis perlacea) is an endemic and endangered species co-distributed with giant pandas, and studying its potential distribution contributes to a better understanding of the distribution pattern of endangered species. In this study, we confirmed seven presence points of this species in the Yingjing Area of the Giant Panda National Park, and selected eleven key factors to predict the potential distribution of E. perlacea under current and future scenarios using MaxEnt models. Our study consistently achieved AUC values exceeding 0.79, meeting the precision requirements of the models. The results indicated that the high potential distribution area of E. perlacea is mainly located near Yunwu mountain and the giant panda rewilding and reintroduction base, accounting for approximately 12% of the protected area. Moreover, we identified the primary environmental factors influencing the distribution of E. perlacea as the distance from streams and the slope degree, with their contribution rates exceeding 41% and 31%, respectively. In comparison to the current scenario, the potential habitat range for E. perlacea did not show an overall reduction in the context of future climate scenarios. To ensure the long-term preservation of E. perlacea, it is advisable to validate its actual distribution based on the models' results. Particular attention should be given to safeguarding its core distribution areas and raising awareness among residents within the potential distribution range about the conservation of E. perlacea. Simple Summary: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the fifth-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide and the most lethal gynecologic malignancy. Seventy-five percent of patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage, accompanied by extensive pelvic and abdominal metastases, and thus have a poor prognosis. We first screened for critical genes in EOC in the GEO database. LLGL2 was upregulated in ovarian cancer tissue, while low expression of LLGL2 was significantly associated with a more advanced stage and a higher grade of EOC and a poorer survival of patients, implying that LLGL2 may function as a tumor suppressor gene. Our data demonstrated that overexpression of LLGL2 inhibited the ovarian cancer cell migration and invasion abilities in vivo and in vitro. Mechanistically, LLGL2 altered the intracellular localization and function of ACTN1 by interacting with ACTN1 and regulating cytoskeleton remodeling to inhibit the invasion and metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. Epithelial ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological malignant tumor. Although debulking surgery, chemotherapy, and PARP inhibitors have greatly improved survival, the prognosis for patients with advanced EOC without HRD is still poor. LLGL2, as a cell polarity factor, is involved in maintaining cell polarity and asymmetric cell division. In the study of zebrafish development, LLGL2 regulated the proliferation and migration of epidermal cells and the formation of cortical F-actin. However, the role of LLGL2 in ovarian cancer has not been described. Our study found, through bioinformatics analysis, that low expression of LLGL2 was significantly associated with a more advanced stage and a higher grade of EOC and a poorer survival of patients. Functional experiments that involved LLGL2 overexpression and knockdown showed that LLGL2 inhibited the migration and invasion abilities of ovarian cancer cells in vitro, without affecting their proliferation. LLGL2-overexpressing mice had fewer metastatic implant foci than the controls in vivo. Mechanistically, immunoprecipitation combined with mass spectrometry analysis suggested that LLGL2 regulated cytoskeletal remodeling by interacting with ACTN1. LLGL2 altered the intracellular localization and function of ACTN1 without changing its protein and mRNA levels. Collectively, we uncovered that LLGL2 impaired actin filament aggregation into bundles by interacting with ACTN1, which led to cytoskeleton remodeling and inhibition of the invasion and metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. Supramolecular chemistry enables the manipulation of functional components on a molecular scale, facilitating a "bottom-up" approach to govern the sizes and structures of supramolecular materials. Using dynamic non-covalent interactions, supramolecular polymers can create materials with reversible and degradable characteristics and the abilities to self-heal and respond to external stimuli. Pillar[n]arene represents a novel class of macrocyclic hosts, emerging after cyclodextrins, crown ethers, calixarenes, and cucurbiturils. Its significance lies in its distinctive structure, comparing an electron-rich cavity and two finely adjustable rims, which has sparked considerable interest. Furthermore, the straightforward synthesis, uncomplicated functionalization, and remarkable properties of pillar[n]arene based on supramolecular interactions make it an excellent candidate for material construction, particularly in generating interpenetrating supramolecular polymers. Polymers resulting from supramolecular interactions involving pillar[n]arene find potential in various applications, including fluorescence sensors, substance adsorption and separation, catalysis, light-harvesting systems, artificial nanochannels, and drug delivery. In this context, we provide an overview of these recent frontier research fields in the use of pillar[n]arene-based supramolecular polymers, which serves as a source of inspiration for the creation of innovative functional polymer materials derived from pillar[n]arene derivatives. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been extensively studied, and their crucial roles in adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, and gene expression have been revealed. However, the exact regulatory or other mechanisms by which lncRNAs influence the functioning of mesenteric adipose tissue (MAT) remain largely unknown. In this paper, we report the identification of a new lncRNA, named G8110, from the MAT of Bama pigs. The coordinated expression levels of lncRNA G8110 and NFE2L1 were significantly decreased in the MAT of obese Bama pigs compared with those in the MAT of lean pigs. Using a bone mesenchymal stem cell adipogenic differentiation model, we found that lncRNA G8110 played a role in adipocyte differentiation by positively regulating NFE2L1. We also found that lncRNA G8110 inhibited the formation of intracellular lipid synthesis, promoted lipid metabolism, and inhibited the expression of inflammatory cytokines. The geographic variation in life-history traits of organisms and the mechanisms underlying adaptation are interesting ideas in evolutionary biology. This study investigated age and body size of the Asian common toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus) among five populations along a geographical gradient. We found that geographical variation in age was non-significant among populations but there was a significant and positive correlation between mean age and body size. Although the body size values at 1043 m are quite different from other sites, after controlling for age effects, there was a significant positive correlation between altitude and body size. Our findings followed the predictions of Bergmann's rule, suggesting that the body size of D. melanostictus is potentially influenced by the low air temperatures at higher altitudes. Cylindrical multi-degree-of-freedom (multi-DOF) ultrasonic motors have the potential to significantly reduce motor size compared to other ultrasonic motors. They find applications in various systems, including micro-robot joints and space probes. This paper proposes a 3-DOF cylindrical ultrasonic motor with hybrid vibration modes. Hybrid vibration modes encompass non-standard longitudinal and bending vibrations. The structure and operating principle of the motor are described first. COMSOL Multiphysics models the stator's vibration modes, frequency response, and 3-DOF motion. A motor prototype is manufactured and characterized to demonstrate the output characteristics of the motor. The results indicate that the motor has a no-load speed of 37 rpm along the x- and y-axes and up to 77 rpm along the z-axis. The maximum output torque of the motor is 25 Nm. We create a rate equation theoretical model of a continuous-wave end-pumped Pr3+:YLF SLM laser that characterizes the output properties of a single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) green laser. After inserting two Fabry–Perot (F–P) etalons with thicknesses of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm and angles of 1.42° and 0.69° into the cavity, a single-longitudinal-mode green laser was generated. The maximum output power in single-longitudinal mode was 183 mW. The maximum absorbed pump power was 6.2 W. The corresponding linewidth is about 18 MHz. This work presents a simple method for generating a single-longitudinal-mode laser in the green spectral region, providing a practical approach for various green-laser-related applications. Edible coatings have attracted the attention of researchers in recent years due to their degradability, safety, non-toxicity, low cost, good preservation effect, and other advantages. To prepare a new edible film with good mechanical and barrier properties, carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) and gelatin (GL) were selected as the film-forming matrix in this experiment, and glycerol, CaCl2, Tween-20, and ascorbic acid (AA) have been added as plasticizers, crosslinking agents, surfactants, and antioxidants. Crosslinking agents and antioxidants first, the film was prepared by the casting method, and single factor tests were used to compare the effects of different CMCS: GL (w:w), glycerol, CaCl2, Tween-20, and AA on mechanical properties (Tensile Strength (TS), Elongation at break (EAB)) and barrier properties (Water Vapor Permeability (WVP), Oxygen Permeability (OP)). Then, the weighting of each performance index is determined by a combination of principal component analysis and the comprehensive membership evaluation method. The formula for calculating the overall rating of edible film performance was determined. Finally, the manufacturing process of edible film with better performance was optimized by a response surface test. The results showed that the influence of each factor on the performance of the edible film was as follows: Glycerol addition > CaCl2 addition > CMCS:GL, Tween-20, and AA had no significant influence on the performance of the edible film. When calculating the overall edible film property score, the weights of TS, EAB, WVP, and OP were 0.251, 0.068, 0.334, and 0.347, respectively. The optimal formulation for an edible film based on CMCS-GL with better properties than pure CMCS and GL film was CMCS:GL = 2:1, with the addition of 1% glycerol, 2% CaCl2, 0.1% Tween-20, and 2% AA. The TS, EAB, OP, and WVP of the film obtained with this formula were: 16.28 MPa, 71.46%, 1.39 × 10−12 g·cm/(cm2·s·Pa), 5.10 × 10−11 cm3·cm/(m2·s·Pa), respectively. The current study established a theoretical framework for exploring the influence of the perceived quality of green brands on green word of mouth (WOM) by investigating the mediating effects of satisfaction with and trust in green brands. Although prior research has explored the factors influencing green word of mouth, it has focused on information technology and electronic products. The target of the current research was road race runners in Taiwan. Structural equation modeling was performed to validate the research framework. The findings suggest that satisfaction with and trust in green brands mediate the positive effect of the perceived quality of green brands on green word of mouth. Thus, to enhance runners' satisfaction with and trust in green brands and promote green WOM, road race organizations should allocate resources to improving the perceived quality of the green branding for their events. Furthermore, we examined the effects of the geographical gradient on organ size, uncovering a positive correlation between the relative size of the testes and altitude and/or latitude. Adaptive evolution is the process by which organisms change their morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics to adapt to different environments during long-term natural selection. Especially, researching variation in organ size can provide important insights into morphological adaptation in amphibians. In this study, we comparatively studied differences in organ sizes (heart, lungs, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, spleen, digestive tract, testes and brain) among five geographical populations of the Asian common toad Duttaphrynus melanostictus. Our results revealed significant variations in the size of these nine specific organs among the populations. Notably, we observed a significant positive correlation between the relative size of the testes and latitude and/or altitude. However, no correlation was found between the relative size of the heart and the length of the digestive tract with altitude across populations, respectively, contradicting Hesse's rule and the digestion theory. These findings suggest that our study does not provide substantial theoretical support for the adaptive evolution of organ size in this particular toad species, but rather contributes to the understanding of the evolution and adaptations of species' different environmental conditions. This article describes a master oscillator and power amplifier (MOPA) system with a single longitudinal mode (SLM) and high-repetition-frequency Pr3+:YLF active medium that was end-pumped by two 444 nm laser diodes. The Pr3+:YLF MOPA laser system produced a maximum pulse energy of 13.5 μJ with a pulse width of 130.2 ns at a pulse repetition frequency of 20 kHz, translating to a peak power of around 103.7 W. The Pr3+:YLF MOPA laser system's output wavelength was 639.7 nm, and the line-width of its laser spectra was roughly 168 MHz. The high-pathogenicity island (HPI) was initially identified in Yersinia and can be horizontally transferred to Escherichia coli to produce yersiniabactin (Ybt), which enhances the pathogenicity of E. coli by competing with the host for Fe3+. Pyroptosis is gasdermin-induced necrotic cell death. It involves the permeabilization of the cell membrane and is accompanied by an inflammatory response. It is still unclear whether Ybt HPI can cause intestinal epithelial cells to undergo pyroptosis and contribute to gut inflammation during E. coli infection. In this study, we infected intestinal epithelial cells of mice with E. coli ZB-1 and the Ybt-deficient strain ZB-1Δirp2. Our findings demonstrate that Ybt-producing E. coli is more toxic and exacerbates gut inflammation during systemic infection. Mechanistically, our results suggest the involvement of the NLRP3/caspase-1/GSDMD pathway in E. coli infection. Ybt promotes the assembly and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, leading to GSDMD cleavage into GSDMD-N and promoting the pyroptosis of intestinal epithelial cells, ultimately aggravating gut inflammation. Notably, NLRP3 knockdown alleviated these phenomena, and the binding of free Ybt to NLRP3 may be the trigger. Overall, our results show that Ybt HPI enhances the pathogenicity of E. coli and induces pyroptosis via the NLRP3 pathway, which is a new mechanism through which E. coli promotes gut inflammation. Ammonia (NH3) is a highly important industrial chemical used as fuel and fertilizer. The industrial synthesis of NH3 relies heavily on the Haber–Bosch route, which accounts for roughly 1.2% of global annual CO2 emissions. As an alternative route, the electrosynthesis of NH3 from nitrate anion (NO3−) reduction (NO3−RR) has drawn increasing attention, since NO3−RR from wastewater to produce NH3 can not only recycle waste into treasure but also alleviate the adverse effects of excessive NO3− contamination in the environment. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) has been widely used commercially for decades; however, as a non-degradable material, its continuous accumulation has contributed to serious environmental issues. A fungal strain, Cladosporium sp. CPEF-6 exhibiting a significant growth advantage on MSM-LDPE (minimal salt medium), was isolated and selected for biodegradation analysis. LDPE biodegradation was analyzed by weight loss percent, change in pH during fungal growth, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM), and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Inoculation with the strain Cladosporium sp. CPEF-6 resulted in a 0.30 ± 0.06% decrease in the weight of untreated LDPE (U-LDPE). After heat treatment (T-LDPE), the weight loss of LDPE increased significantly and reached 0.43 ± 0.01% after 30 days of culture. The pH of the medium was measured during LDPE degradation to assess the environmental changes caused by enzymes and organic acids secreted by the fungus. The fungal degradation of LDPE sheets was characterized by ESEM analysis of topographical alterations, such as cracks, pits, voids, and roughness. FTIR analysis of U-LDPE and T-LDPE revealed the appearance of novel functional groups associated with hydrocarbon biodegradation as well as changes in the polymer carbon chain, confirming the depolymerization of LDPE. This is the first report demonstrating the capacity of Cladosporium sp. to degrade LDPE, with the expectation that this finding can be used to ameliorate the negative impact of plastics on the environment. A novel linear piezo inertia actuator based on the transverse motion principle is proposed. Under the action of the transverse motion of two parallel leaf-springs, the designed piezo inertia actuator can achieve great stroke movements at a fairly high speed. The presented actuator includes a rectangle flexure hinge mechanism (RFHM) with two parallel leaf-springs, a piezo-stack, a base, and a stage. The mechanism construction and operating principle of the piezo inertia actuator are discussed, respectively. To obtain the proper geometry of the RFHM, we have used a commercial finite element program COMSOL. To investigate the output characteristics of the actuator, the relevant experiment tests including loading capacity, voltage characteristic, and frequency characteristic are adopted. The maximum movement speed and the minimum step size are 27.077 mm/s and 32.5 nm, respectively, confirming that the RFHM with two parallel leaf-springs can be used to design a piezo inertia actuator with a high speed and accuracy. This study mainly investigated the nonlinear vibration performance of a rotor-casing coupling system containing a bolted flange connection. The dynamic equations of the coupling system were developed while considering the radial stiffness of the bolted flange structure, which contained a spigot, squirrel cage with ball bearing, and rotor-casing coupling vibration. To study the influence of the disk casing fixed-point rubbing fault on the coupling system's nonlinear dynamic performance, an analytical model of the nonlinear impact forces was established, which considered the contact and vibration responses of the rotor and casing. The frictional force was obtained based on the Coulomb friction law. The iterative analysis of motion equations was performed utilizing the Newmark method. Then, the nonlinear dynamic behaviors of the coupled systems were examined using data, including a bifurcation diagram, spectrum plot, greatest Lyapunov exponents, etc. The effects of rubbing fault on the dynamic properties of system were investigated in detail, indicating that there were various motion states, which were described as periodic, multi-periodic, and quasi-periodic motions. Comparing the simulation results, it was found that rubbing fault seriously affected the motion stability of the rotor system. Finally, by gathering and examining the vibration data set from a test platform for rotor-casings with bolted joints, the correctness of the numerical simulation findings was confirmed. Additionally, the results of the experimental investigation agreed with that of the simulation. The dynamic distinguishing characteristics that were noticed can be used as an indicator for determining whether the fixed-point rubbing fault between the rotor and casing has become worse. In this study, we construct a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probe, NAF-BN, that utilizes benzyl boronic acid ester for fluorescence quenching of naphthofluorescein cores. The outer membrane protein (OMP) is a kind of biofilm matrix component that widely exists in Gram-negative bacteria. However, the mechanism of OMP involved in the settlement of molluscs is still unclear. In this study, the mussel Mytilus coruscus was selected as a model to explore the function of ompR, a two-component system response regulator, on Pseudoalteromonas marina biofilm-forming capacity and the mussel settlement. The motility of the ΔompR strain was increased, the biofilm-forming capacity was decreased, and the inducing activity of the ΔompR biofilms in plantigrades decreased significantly (p < 0.05). The extracellular α-polysaccharide and β-polysaccharide of the ΔompR strain decreased by 57.27% and 62.63%, respectively. The inactivation of the ompR gene decreased the ompW gene expression and had no impact on envZ expression or c-di-GMP levels. Adding recombinant OmpW protein caused the recovery of biofilm-inducing activities, accompanied by the upregulation of exopolysaccharides. Skeletal muscle formation is an extremely important step in animal growth and development. Recent studies have found that TMEM8c (also known as Myomaker, MYMK), a muscle-specific transmembrane protein, can promote myoblast fusion and plays a key role in the normal development of skeletal muscle. However, the effect of Myomaker on porcine (Sus scrofa) myoblast fusion and the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain largely unknown. Therefore, in this study, we focused on the role and corresponding regulatory mechanism of the Myomaker gene during skeletal muscle development, cell differentiation, and muscle injury repair in pigs. We obtained the entire 3′ UTR sequence of porcine Myomaker using the 3′ RACE approach and found that miR-205 inhibited porcine myoblast fusion by targeting the 3′ UTR of Myomaker. In addition, based on a constructed porcine acute muscle injury model, we discovered that both the mRNA and protein expression of Myomaker were activated in the injured muscle, while miR-205 expression was significantly inhibited during skeletal muscle regeneration. The negative regulatory relationship between miR-205 and Myomaker was further confirmed in vivo. Taken together, the present study reveals that Myomaker plays a role during porcine myoblast fusion and skeletal muscle regeneration and demonstrates that miR-205 inhibits myoblast fusion through targeted regulation of the expression of Myomaker. Four new germacrane sesquiterpene dilactones, 2β-hydroxyl-11β,13-dihydrodeoxymikanolide (1), 3β-hydroxyl-11β,13-dihydrodeoxymikanolide (2), 1α,3β-dihydroxy-4,9-germacradiene-12,8:15,6-diolide (3), and (11β,13-dihydrodeoxymikanolide-13-yl)-adenine (4), together with five known ones (5–9) were isolated from the aerial parts of Mikania micrantha. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compound 4 is featured with an adenine moiety in the molecule, which is the first nitrogen-containing sesquiterpenoid so far isolated from this plant species. These compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial activity against four Gram-(+) bacteria of Staphyloccocus aureus (SA), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Bacillus cereus (BC) and Curtobacterium. flaccumfaciens (CF), and three Gram-(–) bacteria of Escherichia coli (EC), Salmonella. typhimurium (SA), and Pseudomonas Solanacearum (PS). Compounds 4 and 7–9 were found to show strong in vitro antibacterial activity toward all the tested bacteria with the MIC values ranging from 1.56 to 12.5 µg/mL. Notably, compounds 4 and 9 showed significant antibacterial activity against the drug-resistant bacterium of MRSA with MIC value 6.25 µg/mL, which was close to reference compound vancomycin (MIC 3.125 µg/mL). Compounds 4 and 7–9 were further revealed to show in vitro cytotoxic activity toward human tumor A549, HepG2, MCF-7, and HeLa cell lines, with IC50 values ranging from 8.97 to 27.39 μM. No antibacterial and cytotoxic activity were displayed for the other compounds. The present research provided new data to support that M. micrantha is rich in structurally diverse bioactive compounds worthy of further development for pharmaceutical applications and for crop protection in agricultural fields. Hemolysin-coregulated protein 1 (Hcp1) is an effector released by the type VI secretion system (T6SS) in certain pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli) that causes apoptosis and contributes to the development of meningitis. The exact toxic consequences of Hcp1 and whether it intensifies the inflammatory response by triggering pyroptosis are yet unknown. Here, utilizing the CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing method, we removed the gene expressing Hcp1 from wild-type E. coli W24 and examined the impact of Hcp1 on E. coli virulence in Kunming (KM) mice. It was found that Hcp1-sufficient E. coli was more lethal, exacerbating acute liver injury (ALI) and acute kidney injury (AKI) or even systemic infections, structural organ damage, and inflammatory factor infiltration. These symptoms were alleviated in mice infected with W24Δhcp1. Additionally, we investigated the molecular mechanism by which Hcp1 worsens AKI and found that pyroptosis is involved, manifested as DNA breaks in many renal tubular epithelial cells. Genes or proteins closely related to pyroptosis are abundantly expressed in the kidney. Most importantly, Hcp1 promotes the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and the expression of active caspase-1, thereby cleaving GSDMD-N and accelerating the release of active IL-1β and ultimately leading to pyroptosis. In conclusion, Hcp1 enhances the virulence of E. coli, aggravates ALI and AKI, and promotes the inflammatory response; moreover, Hcp1-induced pyroptosis is one of the molecular mechanisms of AKI. The concrete-filled double steel tube (CFDST) has been more and more widely used in infrastructure due to its greater moment of inertia compared to the ordinary concrete-filled steel tube (CFST). With the increase in collision accidents occurring in recent years, the research on CFDST under impact needs more attention. To study the dynamic responses of CFDST columns under lateral impact, the finite element package ABAQUS was used to simulate the impact force and mid-span deflection of the column under the coupling action of axial force and lateral impact based on the comparison of experimental data in the literature. The influence of hollow ratio, axial compression ratio, slenderness ratio, impact energy, and material strength on the dynamic responses of the CFDST column are studied. The results show that with the increase in the hollow ratio from 0.3 to 0.8, the residual mid-span deflection of the CFDST column decreases by 77.9%. The mid-span deflection shows an increasing trend following a decreasing one with the axial compression ratio increasing. With the increase in the slenderness ratio from 30 to 60, the plateau impact force decreases by 62.5%, and the residual mid-span deflection increases by 240.5%. Simple Summary: Testis asymmetry is particularly common in animals and it has been explained by two main hypotheses: the packaging hypothesis and compensation hypothesis. We studied the variations in testes size asymmetry among 116 anuran species associated with natural and sexual selection to test the two hypotheses. We found that the positive correlation between testes size asymmetry and livers mass followed the prediction of the packaging hypothesis, while the postcopulatory sperm competition (e.g., residual testes size) and the degree of testes asymmetry was positively related, supporting the positive role of sexual selection on testes size asymmetry. However, we did not find any effect of developmental stress on variation in testes size asymmetry among anurans, which was inconsistent with the compensation hypothesis. Directional asymmetry in testes size is commonly documented in vertebrates. The degree of testes size asymmetry has been confirmed to be associated with natural and sexual selection. However, the role of natural and sexual selection driving variations in testes size asymmetry among species of anurans are largely unknown. Here, we studied the patterns of variations in testes size asymmetry and the factors shaping its variations among 116 anuran species. The results indicated that the left size-biased testes in 110 species (94.83% of 116 species) is more common than the right size-biased testes in six species. For all studied species, the degree of testes size asymmetry was positively associated with relative livers and body fat mass, following the prediction of the packaging hypothesis. We also found that the postcopulatory sperm competition (e.g., residual testes size) was positively associated with the degree of testes asymmetry. However, environmental stress (e.g., high latitude, precipitation seasonality and temperature seasonality) did not promote more symmetrical testes for all species. Our findings suggest that both natural selection for larger livers in body space and sexual selection for rapid increase in testis mass for most species during the breeding season can play key roles in driving in testes size asymmetry across anuran species. As one of the important ways to cultivate internationalized and highly competitive talents, Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools (CFCRS) is very significant to education for sustainable development (ESD). From the perspective of ESD, we developed a teaching quality evaluation model using 18 indicators in 4 dimensions: resource input, faculty environment, teaching process, and teaching outcome. The DANP (Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory-Based Analytic Network Process) method is used to explore the mutual influence relationship of teaching quality in CFCRS, and the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) method is used in this empirical study. The results show that the evaluation dimensions listed by impact level from big to small are as follows: teaching outcome, teaching process, faculty environment, and resource input. Among them, resource input and faculty environment are the cause dimensions, while teaching process and teaching outcome are the result dimensions. Academic support is the most influential indicator, followed by teaching resource and teaching management, and the teacher's nationality is the least influential indicator. The CFCRS A of a comprehensive university in the developed region of China has the highest comprehensive score, followed by the CFCRS C of an applied science and technology university and CFCRS B of a comprehensive university in the underdeveloped region. The teaching quality of CFCRS can be improved by increasing the frequency of academic activities, strengthening teacher training, reinforcing curriculum and discipline management, and encouraging students to participate in competitions and paper publications. The probiotic Weizmannia coagulans (W. coagulans) BC2000 can increase the abundance of intestinal transforming ellagic acid (EA) bacteria and inhibit metabolic disorders caused by hyperlipidemia by activating liver autophagy. This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effects of W. coagulans BC2000 and EA on hyperlipidemia-induced cholesterol metabolism disorders. C57BL/6J mice (n = 10 in each group) were fed a low-fat diet, high-fat diet (HFD), HFD supplemented with EA, HFD supplemented with EA and W. coagulans BC77, HFD supplemented with EA, and W. coagulans BC2000. EA and W. coagulans BC2000 supplementation prevented HFD-induced hypercholesterolemia and promoted fecal cholesterol excretion. Transcriptome analysis showed that primary bile acid biosynthesis in the liver was significantly activated by EA and W. coagulans BC2000 treatments. EA and W. coagulans BC2000 treatment also significantly increased the intestinal Eggerthellaceae abundance and the liver EA metabolites, iso-urolithin A, Urolithin A, and Urolithin B. Therefore, W. coagulans BC2000 supplementation promoted the intestinal transformation of EA, which led to the upregulation of liver bile synthesis, thus preventing hypercholesterolemia. To investigate the regulatory functions of L-arginine and nitric oxide (NO) on Mytilus coruscus metamorphosis, M. coruscus larvae were exposed to an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), aminoguanidine hemisulfate (AGH), and a substrate for NO synthesis, L-arginine. We observed that NO levels showed a significant increase, and this trend continued with L-arginine treatment. When NOS activity was inhibited, the larvae could not synthesize NO, and metamorphosis was not inhibited even in the presence of L-arginine. On transfecting pediveliger larvae with NOS siRNA followed by L-arginine exposure, we found that the larvae did not produce NO and that the larval metamorphosis rate was significantly increased, suggesting that L-arginine regulates M. coruscus larval metamorphosis by promoting NO synthesis. Purpose: Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is an uncommon astrocytoma that tends to occur in children and young adults and has a relatively favorable prognosis. The 2021 WHO classification of tumors of the central nervous system (CNS WHO), 5th edition, rates PXAs as grade 2 and grade 3. The histological grading was based on mitotic activity (≥2.5 mitoses/mm2). This study specifically evaluates the clinical, morphological, and, especially, the molecular characteristics of grade 2 and 3 PXAs. Methods: Between 2003 and 2021, we characterized 53 tumors with histologically defined grade 2 PXA (n = 36, 68%) and grade 3 PXA (n = 17, 32%). Results: Compared with grade 2 PXA, grade 3 PXA has a deeper location and no superiority in the temporal lobe and is more likely to be accompanied by peritumoral edema. In histomorphology, epithelioid cells and necrosis were more likely to occur in grade 3 PXA. Molecular analysis found that the TERT promoter mutation was more prevalent in grade 3 PXA than in grade 2 PXA (35% vs. 3%; p = 0.0005) and all mutation sites were C228T. The cases without BRAF V600E mutation or with necrosis in grade 3 PXA had a poor prognosis (p = 0.01). Conclusion: These data define PXA as a heterogeneous astrocytoma. Grade 2 and grade 3 PXAs have different clinical and histological characteristics as well as distinct molecular profiles. TERT promoter mutations may be a significant genetic event associated with anaplastic progression. Necrosis and BRAF V600E mutation play an important role in the prognosis of grade 3 PXA. Piezoelectric wearable electronics, which can sense external pressure, have attracted widespread attention. However, the enhancement of electromechanical coupling performance remains a great challenge. Here, a new solid solution of Ba1−xSrxSn0.09Ti0.91O3 (x = 0.00~0.08) is prepared to explore potential high-performance, lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. The coexistence of the rhombohedral phase, orthorhombic phase and tetragonal phase is determined in a ceramic with x = 0.06, showing enhanced electrical performance with a piezoelectric coefficient of d33~650 pC/N. Furthermore, Ba0.94Sr0.06Sn0.09Ti0.91O3 (BSST) is co-blended with PDMS to prepare flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) and their performance is explored. The effects of inorganic particle concentration and distribution on the piezoelectric output of the composite are systematically analyzed by experimental tests and computational simulations. As a result, the optimal VOC and ISC of the PENG (40 wt%) can reach 3.05 V and 44.5 nA, respectively, at 138.89 kPa, and the optimal sensitivity of the device is up to 21.09 mV/kPa. Due to the flexibility of the device, the prepared PENG can be attached to the surface of human skin as a sensor to monitor vital movements of the neck, fingers, elbows, spine, knees and feet of people, thus warning of dangerous behavior or incorrect posture and providing support for sports rehabilitation. Animal fat deposition has a significant impact on meat flavor and texture. However, the molecular mechanisms of fat deposition are not well understood. LncPLAAT3-AS is a naturally occurring transcript that is abundant in porcine adipose tissue. Here, we focus on the regulatory role of lncPLAAT3-AS in promoting preadipocyte proliferation and adipocyte differentiation. By overexpressing or repressing lncPLAAT3 expression, we found that lncPLAAT3-AS promoted the transcription of its host gene PLAAT3, a regulator of adipocyte differentiation. In addition, we predicted the region of lncPLAAT3-AS that binds to miR-503-5p and showed by dual luciferase assay that lncPLAAT3-AS acts as a sponge to absorb miR-503-5p. Interestingly, miR-503-5p also targets and represses PLAAT3 expression and helps regulate porcine preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation. Taken together, these results show that lncPLAAT3-AS upregulates PLAAT3 expression by absorbing miR-503-5p, suggesting a potential regulatory mechanism based on competing endogenous RNAs. Finally, we explored lncPLAAT3-AS and PLAAT3 expression in adipose tissue and found that both molecules were expressed at significantly higher levels in fatty pig breeds compared to lean pig breeds. Plants supply carbohydrates to microbes, whereas AMF provide plants with water and other necessary nutrients—most typically, phosphorus. Understanding the response of the AMF community structure to biogas slurry (BS) fertilization is of great significance for sustainable forest management. This study aimed to look into the effects of BS fertilization at different concentrations on AMF community structures in rhizospheric soil in poplar plantations. We found that different fertilization concentrations dramatically affected the diversity of AMF in the rhizospheric soil of the poplar plantations, and the treatment with a high BS concentration showed the highest Shannon diversity of AMF and OTU richness (Chao1). Further analyses revealed that Glomerales, as the predominant order, accounted for 36.2–42.7% of the AMF communities, and the relative abundance of Glomerales exhibited negligible changes with different BS fertilization concentrations, whereas the order Paraglomerales increased significantly in both the low- and high-concentration treatments in comparison with the control. Furthermore, the addition of BS drastically enhanced the relative abundance of the dominant genera, Glomus and Paraglomus. The application of BS could also distinguish the AMF community composition in the rhizospheric soil well. An RDA analysis indicated that the dominant genus Glomus was significantly positively correlated with nitrate reductase activity, while Paraglomus showed a significant positive correlation with available P. Overall, the findings suggest that adding BS fertilizer to poplar plantations can elevate the diversity of AMF communities in rhizospheric soil and the relative abundance of some critical genera that affect plant nutrient uptake. Phosphorus is one of the main nutrients necessary for plant growth and development. Phosphorus-dissolving microorganisms may convert insoluble phosphorus in soil into available phosphorus that plants can easily absorb and utilize. In this study, four phosphorus-solubilizing fungi (L3, L4, L5, and L12) were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of a poplar plantation in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province, China. Phylogenetic analysis based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and large subunit (LSU) of the ribosomal DNA sequences showed that the ITS and 28S sequences of isolates were the most similar to those of Mortierella. Morphological observation showed that most colonies grew in concentric circles and produced spores under different culture conditions. These results and further microscopic observations showed that these isolated fungi belonged to the genus Mortierella. Pikovskaya (PKO) medium, in which tricalcium phosphate was the sole phosphorus source, was used to screen strain L4 with the best phosphorus-solubilizing effect for further study. When the carbon source was glucose, the nitrogen source was ammonium chloride, the pH was 5, and the available phosphorus content was the highest. By exploring the possible mechanism of phosphorus release by phosphorus-solubilizing fungi, it was found that strain L4 produces several organic acids, such as oxalic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, succinic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, and citric acid. Metamorphosis is a critical process in the transition from planktonic life to benthic life for marine invertebrates, which is accompanied by a large amount of energy consumption. Previous studies have proved that AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), as a vital energy regulator, plays a prominent role in mediating the growth and development of terrestrial animals. However, its function in the growth and development of marine invertebrates, especially in metamorphosis, remains elusive. This study explored the function of AMPK in the larval metamorphosis of Mytilus coruscus. The full-length cDNA of AMPK genes in M. coruscus was cloned and characterized, which is composed of three subunits, McAMPKα, McAMPKβ, and McAMPKγ. Pharmacological tests demonstrated that through the application of an AMPK activator, AMP substantially enhanced the larval metamorphosis rate (p < 0.05). By contrast, the larval metamorphosis rate decreased significantly after being treated with the AMPK inhibitor Compound C (p < 0.05). McAMPK gene knock-down resulted in a reduction in McAMPK gene expression (p < 0.05), and the larval metamorphosis of M. coruscus was significantly restrained (p < 0.05). These results indicated that AMPK signaling is vital in the larval metamorphosis of M. coruscus, which advances further understanding in exploring the molecular mechanisms in the metamorphosis of marine invertebrate larvae. The breast muscle is essential for flight and determines the meat yield and quality of the meat type in pigeons. At present, studies about long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expression profiles in skeletal muscles across the postnatal development of pigeons have not been reported. Here, we used transcriptome sequencing to examine the White-King pigeon breast muscle at four different ages (1 day, 14 days, 28 days, and 2 years old). We identified 12,918 mRNAs and 9158 lncRNAs (5492 known lncRNAs and 3666 novel lncRNAs) in the breast muscle, and 7352 mRNAs and 4494 lncRNAs were differentially expressed in the process of development. We found that highly expressed mRNAs were mainly related to cell-basic and muscle-specific functions. Differential expression and time-series analysis showed that differentially expressed genes were primarily associated with muscle development and functions, blood vessel development, cell cycle, and energy metabolism. To further predict the possible role of lncRNAs, we also conducted the WGCNA and trans/cis analyses. We found that differentially expressed lncRNAs such as lncRNA-LOC102093252, lncRNA-G12653, lncRNA-LOC110357465, lncRNA-G14790, and lncRNA-LOC110360188 might respectively target UBE2B, Pax7, AGTR2, HDAC1, Sox8 and participate in the development of the muscle. This investigation focuses on the three novel polysaccharides from Cordyceps militaris and then discusses their characterization and anti-complementary activity. The three polysaccharides from C. militaris (CMP-1, CMP-2 and CMP-3) were prepared using a DEAE-52 cellulose column. The HPLC, HPGPC, FT-IR and Congo red analyses were used to characterize their monosaccharides, molecular weight and stereo conformation, which demonstrated that the three polysaccharides were homogenous polysaccharides with different molecular weights and were composed of at least ten monosaccharides with different molar ratios, and all had a triple-helix conformation. The evaluation of anti-complementary activity demonstrated that the three polysaccharides significantly inhibited complement activation through the classical pathway and alternative pathway. Preliminary mechanism studies indicated that CMP-1, CMP-2 and CMP-3 acted with C2, C5, C9, factor B, factor B, and P components in the overactivation cascade of the complement system. The analysis of the Pearson correlation and network confirmed that the ribose, glucuronic acid and galacturonic acid composition were negatively correlated with the anti-complementary activity of polysaccharides. Lactobacillus, a genus of lactic acid bacteria, plays a crucial function in food production preservation, and probiotics. It is particularly important to develop new Lactobacillus strains with superior performance by gene editing. Currently, the identification of its functional genes and the mining of excellent functional genes mainly rely on the traditional gene homologous recombination technology. CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing is a rapidly developing technology in recent years. It has been widely applied in mammalian cells, plants, yeast, and other eukaryotes, but less in prokaryotes, especially Lactobacillus. Compared with the traditional strain improvement methods, CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing can greatly improve the accuracy of Lactobacillus target sites and achieve traceless genome modification. The strains obtained by this technology may even be more efficient than the traditional random mutation methods. This review examines the application and current issues of CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing in Lactobacillus, as well as the development trend of CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing in Lactobacillus. (1) Background: Ellagic acid (EA) acts as a product of gut microbiota transformation to prevent insulin resistance, which is limited by high-fat diet (HFD)-induced dysbiosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic effects and mechanisms of supplementation with the probiotic Weizmannia coagulans (W. coagulans) on the prevention of insulin resistance by EA; (2) Methods: C57BL/6J mice were divided into five groups (n = 10/group): low-fat-diet group, high-fat-diet group, EA intervention group, EA + W. coagulans BC77 group, and EA + W. coagulans BC2000 group; (3) Result: W. coagulans BC2000 showed a synergistic effect on EA's lowering insulin resistance index and inhibiting high-fat diet-induced endotoxemia. The combined effect of BC2000 and EA activated the autophagy pathway in the mouse liver, a urolithin-like effect. This was associated with altered β-diversity of gut microbiota and increased Eggerthellaceae, a potential EA-converting family. Ellagic acid treatment alone and the combined use of ellagic acid and W. coagulans BC77 failed to activate the hepatic autophagy pathway; (4) Conclusions: W. coagulans BC2000 can assist EA in its role of preventing insulin resistance. With the development of high-performance wide-band-gap devices and increasing converter frequency, planar transformers are widely used in high-frequency and high-power-density power conversions. Due to the skin effect and proximity effect, accurate thermal analysis and a simplified thermal model of planar transformers are needed for quick thermal verification as well as system design. This paper proposes two thermal simplification models based on the planar transformer's thermal impedance network. The internal power loss and thermal coupling between each component are first analyzed. Then, based on thermal radiation theory, the simplified thermal model of the planar transformer is presented. It only requires the input of the total power loss of the planar transformer to calculate the temperature rise, and it does not need the power loss of each component. A microcystin-degrading bacterial strain, Blastomonas fulva T2, was isolated from the culture of a microalgae Microcystis. The strain B. fulva T2 is Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic, non-spore-forming and phototrophic. The cells of B. fulva T2 are able to grow in ranges of temperature from 15 to 37 °C, with a pH of 6 to 8 and a salinity of 0 to 1% NaCl. Here, we sequenced the complete genome of B. fulva T2, aiming to better understand the evolutionary biology and the function of the genus Blastomonas at the molecular level. The complete genome of B. fulva T2 contained a circular chromosome (3,977,381 bp) with 64.3% GC content and a sizable plasmid (145.829 bp) with 60.7% GC content which comprises about 3.5% of the total genetic content. A total of 3842 coding genes, including 46 tRNAs and 6 rRNAs, were predicted in the genome. The genome contains genes for glycolysis, citric acid cycle, Entner–Doudoroff pathways, photoreaction center and bacteriochlorophylla synthesis. A 7.9 K gene cluster containing mlrA, mlrB, mlrC and mlrD1,2,3,4 of microcystin-degrading enzymes was identified. Notably, eight different efflux pumps categorized into RND, ABC and MFS types have been identified in the genome of strain T2. Our findings should provide new insights of the alternative reaction pathway as well as the enzymes which mediated the degradation of microcystin by bacteria, as well as the evolution, architectures, chemical mechanisms and physiological roles of the new bacterial multidrug efflux system.
