In this paper, we aim to review Meir–Keeler contraction mappings results on various abstract spaces, in particular, on partial metric spaces, dislocated (metric-like) spaces, and M-metric spaces. We collect all significant results in this direction by involving interesting examples. Modular metric space is one of the most interesting spaces in the framework of the metric fixed point theory. The main goal of the paper is to provide some certain fixed point results in the context of modular metric spaces and non-Archimedean modular metric spaces. Very recently, Proinov introduced a great family of contractions in the setting of complete metric spaces that has attracted the attention of many researchers because of the very weak conditions that are assumed on the involved functions. Inspired by Proinov's results, in this paper, we introduce a new class of contractions in the setting of fuzzy metric spaces (in the sense of George and Veeramani) that are able to translate to this framework the best advantages of the abovementioned auxiliary functions. In this paper we present some novel fixed point theorems for a family of contractions depending on two functions (that are not defined on t = 0 ) and on some parameters that we have called multiparametric contractions. We develop our study in the setting of b-metric spaces because they allow to consider some families of functions endowed with b-metrics deriving from similarity measures that are more general than norms. Taking into account that the contractivity condition we will employ is very general (of Hardy-Rogers type), we will discuss the validation and usage of this novel condition. In this paper, we introduce some common fixed point theorems for two distinct self-mappings in the setting of metric spaces by using the notion of a simulation function introduced in 2015. The contractivity conditions have not to be verified for all pairs of points of the space because it is endowed with an antecedent conditions. In this manuscript, we introduce a new notion, admissible hybrid Z -contraction that unifies several nonlinear and linear contractions in the set-up of a b-metric space. In this paper, we investigate the existence of best proximity points that belong to the zero set for the α p -admissible weak (F , φ) -proximal contraction in the setting of M-metric spaces. The aim of this paper is to enrich random fixed point theory, which is one of the cornerstones of probabilistic functional analysis. In this manuscript, we consider some hybrid contractions that merge linear and nonlinear contractions in the abstract spaces induced by the Branciari distance and the Branciari b-distance. More precisely, we introduce the notion of a (p , c) -weight type ψ -contraction in the setting of Branciari distance spaces and the concept of a (p , c) -weight type contraction in Branciari b-distance spaces. In this manuscript, we define generalized Kincses-Totik type contractions within the context of metric space and consider the existence of a fixed point for such operators. Kincses-Totik type contractions extends the renowned Banach contraction mapping principle in different aspects. First, the continuity condition for the considered mapping is not required. Second, the contraction inequality contains all possible geometrical distances. Third, the contraction inequality is formulated for some iteration of the considered operator, instead of the dealing with the given operator. Fourth and last, the iteration number may vary for each point in the domain of the operator for which we look for a fixed point. Consequently, the proved results generalize the acknowledged results in the field, including the well-known theorems of Seghal, Kincses-Totik, and Banach-Caccioppoli. The present paper aims to define three new notions: Θ e -contraction, a Hardy–Rogers-type Θ -contraction, and an interpolative Θ -contraction in the framework of extended b-metric space.
