Most facial analysis methods perform well in standardized testing but not in real-world testing. The main reason is that training models cannot easily learn various human features and background noise, especially for facial landmark detection and head pose estimation tasks with limited and noisy training datasets. To alleviate the gap between standardized and real-world testing, we propose a pseudo-labeling technique using a face recognition dataset consisting of various people and background noise. The use of our pseudo-labeled training dataset can help to overcome the lack of diversity among the people in the dataset. Our integrated framework is constructed using complementary multitask learning methods to extract robust features for each task. Furthermore, introducing pseudo-labeling and multitask learning improves the face recognition performance by enabling the learning of pose-invariant features. Our method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) or near-SOTA performance on the AFLW2000-3D and BIWI datasets for facial landmark detection and head pose estimation, with competitive face verification performance on the IJB-C test dataset for face recognition. We demonstrate this through a novel testing methodology that categorizes cases as soft, medium, and hard based on the pose values of IJB-C. Recently, a pragmatic approach toward achieving semantic search has made significant progress with knowledge graph embedding (KGE). Although many standards, methods, and technologies are applicable to the linked open data (LOD) cloud, there are still several ongoing problems in this area. As LOD are modeled as resource description framework (RDF) graphs, we cannot directly adopt existing solutions from database management or information retrieval systems. This study addresses the issue of efficient LOD annotation organization, retrieval, and evaluation. We propose a hybrid strategy between the index and distributed approaches based on KGE to increase join query performance. Using a learned semantic index structure for semantic search, we can efficiently discover interlinked data distributed across multiple resources. Because this approach rapidly prunes numerous false hits, the performance of join query processing is remarkably improved. The performance of the proposed index structure is compared with some existing methods on real RDF datasets. Semantic Web has recently gained traction with the use of Linked Open Data (LOD) on the Web. Although numerous state-of-the-art methodologies, standards, and technologies are applicable to the LOD cloud, many issues persist. Because the LOD cloud is based on graph-based resource description framework (RDF) triples and the SPARQL query language, we cannot directly adopt traditional techniques employed for database management systems or distributed computing systems. This paper addresses how the LOD cloud can be efficiently organized, retrieved, and evaluated. We propose a novel hybrid approach that combines the index and live exploration approaches for improved LOD join query performance. Using a two-step index structure combining a disk-based 3D R*-tree with the extended multidimensional histogram and flash memory-based k-d trees, we can efficiently discover interlinked data distributed across multiple resources. Because this method rapidly prunes numerous false hits, the performance of join query processing is remarkably improved. We also propose a hot-cold segment identification algorithm to identify regions of high interest. The proposed method is compared with existing popular methods on real RDF datasets. Results indicate that our method outperforms the existing methods because it can quickly obtain target results by reducing unnecessary data scanning and reduce the amount of main memory required to load filtering results. More accurate self-forecasting not only provides a better-integrated solution for electricity grids but also reduces the cost of operation of the entire power system. To predict solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation (SPVG) for a specific hour, this paper proposes the combination of a two-step neural network bi directional long short-term memory (BD-LSTM) model with an artificial neural network (ANN) model using exponential moving average (EMA) preprocessing. In this study, four types of historical input data are used: hourly PV generation for one week (168 h) ahead, hourly horizontal radiation, hourly ambient temperature, and hourly device (surface) temperature, downloaded from the Korea Open Data Portal. The first strategy is employed using the LSTM prediction model, which forecasts the SPVG of the desired time through the data from the previous week, which is preprocessed to smooth the dynamic SPVG using the EMA approach. The SPVG was predicted using the LSTM model according to the trend of the previous time-series data. However, slight errors still occur because the weather condition of the time is not reflected at the desired time. Therefore, we proposed a second strategy of an ANN model for more accurate estimation to compensate for this slight error using the four inputs predicted by the LSTM model. As a result, the LSTM prediction model with the ANN estimation model using EMA preprocessing exhibited higher accuracy in performance than other options for SPVG. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent times, as interest in stress control has increased, many studies on stress recognition have been conducted. Several studies have been based on physiological signals, but the disadvantage of this strategy is that it requires physiological-signal-acquisition devices. Another strategy employs facial-image-based stress-recognition methods, which do not require devices, but predominantly use handcrafted features. However, such features have low discriminating power. We propose a deep-learning-based stress-recognition method using facial images to address these challenges. Given that deep-learning methods require extensive data, we constructed a large-capacity image database for stress recognition. Furthermore, we used temporal attention, which assigns a high weight to frames that are highly related to stress, as well as spatial attention, which assigns a high weight to regions that are highly related to stress. By adding a network that inputs the facial landmark information closely related to stress, we supplemented the network that receives only facial images as the input. The globalization of the food supply chain industry has significantly emerged today. Due to this, farm-to-fork food safety and quality certification have become very important. Increasing threats to food security and contamination have led to the enormous need for a revolutionary traceability system, an important mechanism for quality control that ensures sufficient food supply chain product safety. In this work, we proposed a blockchain-based solution that removes the need for a secure centralized structure, intermediaries, and exchanges of information, optimizes performance, and complies with a strong level of safety and integrity. Our approach completely relies on the use of smart contracts to monitor and manage all communications and transactions within the supply chain network among all of the stakeholders. Our approach verifies all of the transactions, which are recorded and stored in a centralized interplanetary file system database. It allows a secure and cost-effective supply chain system for the stakeholders. Thus, our proposed model gives a transparent, accurate, and traceable supply chain system. The proposed solution shows a throughput of 161 transactions per second with a convergence time of 4.82 s, and was found effective in the traceability of the agricultural products.
