Wheeled lifting robots have found widespread applications in various industrial and logistical environments. However, traditional robots are far from adequate in terms of visual perception capabilities. Additionally, their remote control methods suffer from inefficiencies, which tend to bring safety concerns. To address these issues, this work proposes an autonomous multi-sensor-enabled wheeled lifting robot system, i.e., AMSeWL-R, to facilitate remote autonomous operations. Specifically, AMSeWL-R integrates real-time simultaneous localization and mapping with object detection on a wheeled lifting robot. Additionally, a novel mobile-ROS interaction method is proposed to achieve real-time communication and control between a mobile device and a ROS host. Furthermore, a lightweight object detection algorithm based on YOLOv8, i.e., YOLOv8-R, is proposed to achieve faster detection. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the AMSeWL-R system for accurately detecting objects and mapping its surroundings. Furthermore, TensorRT acceleration is employed during practical testing on a Jetson Nano to achieve real-time detection using the proposed YOLOv8-R, demonstrating its efficacy in real-world scenarios. Accurate carbon emission accounting for electric vehicles (EVs) is particularly important, especially for those participating in the carbon market. However, the participation of numerous EVs in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) scheduling complicates the precise accounting of individual EV emissions. This paper presents a novel approach to carbon accounting and benefits distribution for EVs. It includes a low-carbon dispatch model for a distribution system (DS), aimed at reducing total emissions through strategic EV charging scheduling. Further, an improved carbon emission flow accounting model is proposed to calculate the carbon reduction of EVs before and after low-carbon dispatch. It enables real-time carbon flow tracking during EV charging and discharging, then accurately quantifies the carbon reduction amount. Additionally, it employs the Shapley value method to ensure equitable distribution of carbon revenue, balancing low-carbon operation costs and carbon reduction contributions. A case study based on a 31-node campus distribution network demonstrated that effective scheduling of 1296 EVs can significantly reduce system carbon emissions. This method can accurately account for the carbon emissions of EVs under different charging states, and provides a balanced analysis of EV carbon reduction contributions and costs, advocating for fair revenue allocation. NdFeB magnet scraps contain large amounts of iron, which poses challenges in recycling and greatly hinders the recovery of rare earths through direct hydrometallurgical treatment. To address this issue, we conducted tests using a flash furnace to explore the low-temperature reduction behavior of NdFeB magnet scraps under an H2 atmosphere based on thermodynamic calculations comparing the reduction properties of rare earth oxides (REOs) and iron oxide (FeOx). The results demonstrated that the reduction rate of FeOx surpassed 95% under optimal conditions including a reduction temperature of 723 K, a particle size (D90) of 0.45 μm, and an H2 flow rate of 2 L/min. X-ray diffraction and electron probe microanalysis of the reduction product revealed that the flash reduction at 723 K facilitated the selective reduction of FeOx, owing to efficient mass and heat transfer. Consequently, a two-step magnetic separation process was employed to separate metallic Fe and REOs from the reduction product. Fe-rich phase, obtained with a remarkable Fe distribution ratio of 90.2%, can serve as an economical raw material for weathering steel. Additionally, the REOs are enriched in REO-rich phase, achieving a distribution ratio of 93.9% and significantly boosting the REO concentration from 30.2 to 82.8 wt%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to improve laser transmission efficiency at 1053 nm and 527 nm, a potassium deuterium phosphate (DKDP) crystal (a key component of high-power laser systems) needs a bi-layer antireflection coating system on its incident surface. UV-curable polysiloxane coatings with a refractive index varying from 1.500 to 1.485 were prepared through the polycondensation of a methacryloxy propyl trimethoxylsilane (MPS) monomer with a controllable degree of hydrolysis. Additionally, the influence rule of the coating structure on the refractive index was intensively studied, and the primary factors that dominate the hydrolysis process were discussed. Further refractive index adjustment was achieved using only a small amount of dopant based on the polysiloxane coating with refractive index of 1.485, allowing for high antireflection of the bi-layer coating system at desired wavelengths to be achieved. In addition, high laser damage resistance and remarkable mechanical properties of the coating were simultaneously realized through the incorporation of a minor quantity of dopants, which benefited from the successful modulation of the intrinsic refractive index of the polysiloxane coating. The pressure drop for air-water two-phase flow in pipeline systems with S-shaped and vertical risers at various inclinations (−1°, −2°, −4°, −5° and −7° from horizontal) was predicted using an artificial neural network (ANN). In the designing of the ANN model, the superficial velocity of gas and liquid as well as the inclination of the downcomer were used as input variables, while pressure drop values of two-phase flows were determined as the output. An ANN network with a hidden layer containing 14 neurons was developed based on a trial-and-error method. A sigmoid function was chosen as the transfer function for the hidden layer, while a linear function was used in the output layer. The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm was used for the training of the model. A total of 415 experimental data points reported in the literature were collected and used for the creation of the networks. The statistical results showed that the proposed network is capable of calculating the experimental pressure drop dataset with low average absolute percent error (AAPE) of 3.35% and high determination coefficient (R2) of 0.995. A high-power laser system is employed to drive the fusion ignition to realize sustainable supply of green energy according to the inertial confinement fusion theory, in which frequency-converting crystals are sealed in the terminal vacuum chamber and utilized to turn the incident laser (1053 nm) to the desired one (351 nm). However, the reflected 351 nm laser from the pellet hohlraum that goes back through the frequency-converting crystal is found to be harmful for the upstream elements that are located before the terminal chamber. In this study, a specialized coating system for the frequency-converting crystals was designed and fabricated to both ensure high output power for the fusion and reduce the reflected 351 nm laser energy by absorption. A refractive index (RI) tunable polysiloxane coating was fabricated based on the cross-linked network structure embedded with mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), in which the MSNs were utilized to modulate the RI as well as to support the interior structure of the polysiloxane coating. The Si–O–Si inorganic backbone structure in combination with characteristics from the photopolymerization of active bonds produced the main cross-linked network structure, and controllable embedding of MSNs constructed the network-sphere structure. This approach eliminated the high-temperature post-treatment that was needed to remove the template, which ensures the safe application for temperature-sensitive laser crystal substrates and avoids coating structure collapse. In addition, degradation of the resulting coating can be minimized due to the similar chemical formation between MSN and polysiloxane coating. Hereby, a polysiloxane coating with expected spectral and laser damage-resistant properties can be obtained.
