Gastric cancer (GC) ranks as the third most prevalent malignancy and a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. However, the majority of patients with GC are diagnosed at an advanced stage, highlighting the urgent need for effective perioperative and postoperative chemotherapy to prevent relapse and metastasis. The current treatment strategies have limited overall efficacy because of intrinsic or acquired drug resistance. Recent evidence suggests that dysregulated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a significant role in mediating drug resistance in GC. Therefore, there is an imperative to explore novel molecular mechanisms underlying drug resistance in order to overcome this challenging issue. With advancements in deep transcriptome sequencing technology, lncRNAs—once considered transcriptional noise—have garnered widespread attention as potential regulators of carcinogenesis, including tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, and sensitivity to chemo- or radiotherapy through multiple regulatory mechanisms. In light of these findings, we aim to review the mechanisms by which lncRNAs contribute to drug therapy resistance in GC with the goal of providing new insights and breakthroughs toward overcoming this formidable obstacle. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 9 is a negative regulator of adipogenic differentiation, which is required for maintenance of healthy adipose tissues. We reported that HDAC9 expression is upregulated in adipose tissues during obesity, in conjunction with impaired adipogenic differentiation, adipocyte hypertrophy, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis, all of which were alleviated by global genetic deletion of Hdac9. Here, we developed a novel transgenic (TG) mouse model to test whether overexpression of Hdac9 is sufficient to induce adipocyte hypertrophy, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis in the absence of obesity. HDAC9 TG mice gained less body weight than wild-type (WT) mice when fed a standard laboratory diet for up to 40 weeks, which was attributed to reduced fat mass (primarily inguinal adipose tissue). There was no difference in insulin sensitivity or glucose tolerance in 18-week-old WT and HDAC9 TG mice; however, at 40 weeks of age, HDAC9 TG mice exhibited impaired insulin sensitivity and glucose intolerance. Tissue histology demonstrated adipocyte hypertrophy, along with reduced numbers of mature adipocytes and stromovascular cells, in the HDAC9 TG mouse adipose tissue. Moreover, increased lipids were detected in the livers of aging HDAC9 TG mice, as evaluated by oil red O staining. In conclusion, the experimental aging HDAC9 TG mice developed adipocyte hypertrophy, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis, independent of obesity. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) decorated Al-doped ZnS composites were prepared using the solvothermal process, and the hydrothermal method was used to prepare GQDs. Various spectroscopic techniques were used to characterize the products, and the results show that Al-ZnS attached GQD composites present lattice fringes that can be assigned to ZnS and GQDs, respectively. The absorption peaks of Al-ZnS/GQDs are red-shifted because of the doping of aluminum and the incorporation of GQDs. The luminescence intensity of Al-ZnS/GQDs shows a downward trend with the addition of GQDs. As the GQD content changes from 0.6 wt % to 1.8 wt %, the photocurrent density achieves a maximum at the addition of 1.2 wt %. The photocurrent of Al-ZnS/GQDs composites are about 700% and 200% of pure ZnS and Al-ZnS, respectively. The results indicate that Al doping can reduce the energy bandgap of ZnS and produce more photogenerated electrons. The photogenerated electrons from Al-ZnS can be extracted and transferred to GQDs, which act as conducting materials to decrease the recombination rate and improve the photogenerated electron-transfer. Obesity is a major risk factor for both metabolic and cardiovascular disease. We reported that, in obese male mice, histone deacetylase 9 (HDAC9) is upregulated in adipose tissues, and global deletion of HDAC9 protected against high fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity and metabolic disease. Here, we investigated the impact of adipocyte-specific HDAC9 gene deletion on diet-induced obesity in male and female mice. The HDAC9 gene expression was increased in adipose tissues of obese male and female mice and HDAC9 expression correlated positively with body mass index in humans. Interestingly, female, but not male, adipocyte-specific HDAC9 KO mice on HFD exhibited reduced body weight and visceral adipose tissue mass, adipocyte hypertrophy, and improved insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance and adipogenic differentiation gene expression. Furthermore, adipocyte-specific HDAC9 gene deletion in female mice improved metabolic health as assessed by whole body energy expenditure, oxygen consumption, and adaptive thermogenesis. Mechanistically, compared to female mice, HFD-fed male mice exhibited preferential HDAC9 expression in the stromovascular fraction, which may have offset the impact of adipocyte-specific HDAC9 gene deletion in male mice. These results suggest that HDAC9 expressed in adipocytes is detrimental to obesity in female mice and provides novel evidence of sex-related differences in HDAC9 cellular expression and contribution to obesity-related metabolic disease. In the foamed-concrete-backfilled-gas-pipeline project, the fluidity of foamed concrete has a great impact on the construction quality. This research studied the fluidity of foamed concrete through laboratory tests. By changing the water–cement ratio, admixtures, additives, foaming-agent content and other test parameters, foamed concrete with different fluidities was prepared, and the effects of the above parameters on the fluidity of foamed concrete were analyzed. At the same time, the construction equipment was improved in the three steps of transportation, production and pouring. The results show the factors affecting the fluidity of foamed concrete are, in order of importance, foaming-agent content > water–cement ratio > water-reducer content > admixture content. According to the orthogonal-test results, the control scheme meeting the fluidity requirements of the actual engineering project had gains as follows: the water–cement-ratio range from 0.5 to 0.6, the amount of admixture from 35% to 40%, the water-reducer content at 1% and the foaming-agent content from 3% to 3.5% so as to ensure the automatic leveling of foamed concrete under the best flow state. ZnS-graphene quantum dot (GQDs) composites were synthesized by a simple solvothermal method, in which GQDs were prepared by a hydrothermal cutting process. The products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction and ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy. The results show that GQDs were obtained by size tailoring of 1–4 graphene layers and combined with cubic ZnS nanoparticles to form ZnS-GQDs composites. The photocurrent and electrochemical behavior of the products were evaluated by transient photocurrent responses and electrochemical impedance spectra. The photocurrent density of ZnS-GQDs achieves the value of 2.32 × 10−5 A/cm2, which is 2.4-times as high as that of ZnS-graphene. GQDs serve as an electrical conducting material, which decreases the conductive path and accelerates the electron transfer. The charge-transfer resistance of ZnS-GQDs is much lower than that of ZnS-graphene and pure ZnS due to the effective electron separation and transfer ability upon the incorporation of GQDs.
