The renovation and revitalization of vernacular architecture are pivotal in sustainable rural development. In regions like Shangri-La, traditional structures not only safeguard cultural heritage but also provide a foundation for enhancing local communities' living conditions. However, these villages face growing challenges, including infrastructure decay, cultural erosion, and inadequate adaptation to modern living standards. Addressing these issues requires innovative research approaches that combine heritage preservation with the integration of contemporary functionality. This study employs a research-by-design approach, focusing on the Shanpian House as a case study, to explore how pre-planning and post-evaluation methods can revitalize traditional vernacular architecture. The pre-planning phase utilizes field surveys and archival research to assess spatial, cultural, and environmental conditions, framing a design strategy informed by field theory. In doing so, it evaluates how traditional architectural elements can be preserved while introducing modern construction techniques that meet current living standards. The post-evaluation phase, conducted through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, assesses user satisfaction, focusing on the impact of architectural esthetics, structural stability, and material choices. Key findings from an OLS regression highlight the strong positive correlation between architectural style, structural choices, and cultural relevance with resident satisfaction. The research emphasizes that design elements such as structural details, materials, and infrastructure upgrades are critical in shaping perceptions of both functionality and cultural identity. Interestingly, the model reveals that improving architectural esthetics, alongside modern indoor features such as network connectivity, has a significant impact on enhancing overall resident satisfaction (significance level: 0.181). This study contributes to the broader discourse on sustainable building renovation by demonstrating how traditional architecture can be thoughtfully adapted for contemporary use and also proposes a paradigm shift in the renovation of historic buildings, advocating for a balance between preservation and modernization. The traditional computer with von Neumann architecture has the characteristics of separate storage and computing units, which leads to sizeable time and energy consumption in the process of data transmission, which is also the famous "von Neumann storage wall" problem. Inspired by neural synapses, neuromorphic computing has emerged as a promising solution to address the von Neumann problem due to its excellent adaptive learning and parallel capabilities. Notably, in 2016, researchers integrated light into neuromorphic computing, which inspired the extensive exploration of optoelectronic and all-optical synaptic devices. These optical synaptic devices offer obvious advantages over traditional all-electric synaptic devices, including a wider bandwidth and lower latency. This review provides an overview of the research background on optoelectronic and all-optical devices, discusses their implementation principles in different scenarios, presents their application scenarios, and concludes with prospects for future developments. An attached cantilever scaffold, which mainly consists of a cantilever horizontal steel beam and a diagonal bar, is a new type of cantilever scaffold. The upper end of the diagonal bar is attached to an upper floor slab by a hinge, while the lower end is connected to a cantilever beam. Therefore, the position of the lower suspension point has a significant impact on the overall mechanical performance. However, current research on this topic is limited. Thus, in this study, we aim to optimize the mechanical behavior by changing the lower suspension point position. An optimization methodology based on the genetic algorithm is proposed. This methodology has been demonstrated to be efficient and accurate enough to determine the optimal lower suspension point position of a diagonal bar. The effects of different beam cross-sections, diagonal bar diameters, and upper suspension point positions are further investigated. The bearing capacity is shown to improve by more than 100% and 30% for hinged and rigidly connected cantilever beams when the proposed optimization methodology is adopted. The analysis in this study can serve as a reference for the optimal design of an attached cantilever scaffold and can provide a theoretical basis for developing related design software. Root system architecture is pivotal for the acquisition of water and nutrients in maize, serving as an essential foundation for achieving high and stable yields. Identification of the genetic components and natural variations determining root traits may facilitate molecular breeding of maize varieties with better root traits. Melatonin plays an important role in plant physiology and development. In this study, nine melatonin biosynthesis genes were re-sequenced in 348 inbred lines, 68 landraces, and 32 teosintes to investigate variations related to maize root traits. The analysis of nucleotide diversity suggested that these genes may have undergone selection, particularly within their promoter regions. Marker–trait association analysis identified 26 variants significantly associated with six root traits. Five variations within the ZmTDC4 promoter were significantly correlated with both total root length (TRL) and lateral root length (LRL). Among these, SNP-1784 explained the most phenotypic variation of root traits, including TRL and LRL, that has undergone selection throughout maize domestication and improvement. Furthermore, knockout of ZmTDC4 in maize resulted in a pronounced reduction in root length, underscoring its critical role in root development. Collectively, these findings elucidate the role of melatonin synthesis genes in root development and identified favorable alleles, thus providing key loci for breeding maize varieties with superior root systems. Efficient delivery of therapeutic agents to the lesion site or specific cells is an important way to achieve "toxicity reduction and efficacy enhancement". Macrocycles have always provided many novel ideas for drug or gene loading and delivery processes. Specifically, macrocycles represented by crown ethers, cyclodextrins, cucurbit[n]urils, calix[n]arenes, and pillar[n]arenes have unique properties, which are different cavity structures, good biocompatibility, and good stability. Benefited from these diverse properties, a variety of supramolecular drug delivery systems can be designed and constructed to effectively improve the physical and chemical properties of guest molecules as needed. Cable-stiffened steel columns (CSSC) have a high load-carrying capacity and strong stability compared to ordinary steel columns. In practical engineering, the connection between the crossarm and main column of a CSSC is usually welded. However, the welding-residual stress adversely affects the steel column. In this study, pre-cast CSSCs, with a pinned connection between the crossarm and main column, are presented. The new type of pre-cast CSSCs avoid the welding-residual and are easy to disassemble. A model test and numerical analysis of its global stability behavior under eccentric compression is conducted. Based on the analysis, the buckling modes of these columns are defined and a method for determining the governing imperfection in a nonlinear buckling analysis is proposed. The effects of slenderness ratio, cross-arm length, cable diameter, and other parameters on the load-carrying capacities of the columns are investigated using the proposed method. This study proposes an improved mixed-variable quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm capable of optimizing both continuous and discrete variables. The algorithm is applied to the wind resistance optimization of a cable-stiffened, single-layer spherical reticulated shell (SLSRS), optimizing discrete variables like member dimensions and cable dimensions alongside continuous variables such as cable prestress. Through a computational case study on an SLSRS, the optimization results of the proposed QPSO method are compared with other optimization techniques, validating its accuracy and reliability. Furthermore, this study establishes a mathematical model for the wind resistance optimization of cable-stiffened SLSRSs and outlines the wind resistance optimization process based on the mixed-variable QPSO algorithm. The optimization of these structures reveals the strong stability and global search capabilities of the proposed algorithm. Additionally, the comparison of section optimization and shape optimization highlights the significant impact of the shell shape on steel usage and costs, underscoring the importance of shape optimization in the design process. Preserving the privacy of the ever-increasing multimedia data on the cloud while providing accurate and fast retrieval services has become a hot topic in information security. However, existing relevant schemes still have significant room for improvement in accuracy and speed. Therefore, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving image–text retrieval scheme called PITR. To enhance model performance with minimal parameter training, we freeze all parameters of a multimodal pre-trained model and incorporate trainable modules along with either a general adapter or a specialized adapter, which are used to enhance the model's ability to perform zero-shot image classification and cross-modal retrieval in general or specialized datasets, respectively. To preserve the privacy of outsourced data on the cloud and the privacy of the user's retrieval process, we employ asymmetric scalar-product-preserving encryption technology suitable for inner product calculation, and we employ distributed index storage technology and construct a two-level security model. We construct a hierarchical index structure to speed up query matching among massive high-dimensional index vectors. Strong impacts and vibrations exist in various structures of rice combine harvesters in harvesting, so the bolt connection structure on the harvesters is prone to loosening and failure, which would further affect the service life and working efficiency of the working device and structure. In this paper, based on the vibration signal acquisition experiment on the bolt and connection structure of the vibrating screen on the harvester, failure feature identification is studied. According to the sensitivity analysis results and the primary extraction of the time-frequency feature, most features have limitations on the identification of failure features of vibrating screen bolts. Therefore, based on the establishment of a high-dimensional feature matrix and multivariate fusion feature matrix, the validity of the feature set was verified based on the whale optimization algorithm. And then, based on the SVM method and high-dimensional mapping of the kernel functions, the high-dimensional feature matrix is trained by the LIBSVM classification decision model. The identify success rates of time domain feature matrix A, frequency domain feature matrix B, WOA-VMD energy entropy matrix C, and normalized multivariate fusion feature matrix G are 64.44%, 74.44%, 81.11%, and more than 90%, respectively, which can reflect the applicability of the failure state identification of the normalized multivariate fusion feature matrix. Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is an early warning sign of stroke and death, necessitating suitable animal models due to the associated clinical diagnostic challenges. In this study, we developed a TIA model using flexible spatially targeted photothrombosis combined with real-time blood flow imaging feedback. By modulating the excitation light using wavefront technology, we precisely created a square light spot (50 × 250 µm), targeted at the distal middle cerebral artery (dMCA). The use of laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) provided real-time feedback on the ischemia, while the excitation light was ceased upon reaching complete occlusion. Our results demonstrated that the photothrombus formed in the dMCA and spontaneously recanalized within 10 min (416.8 ± 96.4 s), with no sensorimotor deficits or infarction 24 h post-TIA. During the acute phase, ischemic spreading depression occurred in the ipsilateral dorsal cortex, leading to more severe ischemia and collateral circulation establishment synchronized with the onset of dMCA narrowing. Post-reperfusion, the thrombi were primarily in the sensorimotor and visual cortex, disappearing within 24 h. The blood flow changes in the dMCA were more indicative of cortical ischemic conditions than diameter changes. Our method successfully establishes a photochemical TIA model based on the dMCA, allowing for the dynamic observation and control of thrombus formation and recanalization and enabling real-time monitoring of the impacts on cerebral blood flow during the acute phase of TIA. Climate change has led to significant fluctuations in marine ecosystems. As a component of the food web, the trophic diversity and spatiotemporal changes of fish communities are crucial for understanding ecosystems. In recent years, stable isotope analysis has been increasingly used as a comprehensive tool for quantitative assessment of trophic diversity to explore spatiotemporal variations in fish community diversity. This study is based on carbon (δ 13C) and nitrogen (δ 15N) stable isotope analysis using different biomass-weighted isotope diversity indices, including isotopic divergence index (IDiv), isotopic dispersion index (IDis), isotopic evenness index (IEve), and isotopic uniqueness index (IUni). The overall results indicate that IDis, IEve, and IUni values of fish communities were relatively low, while IDiv was relatively high in the Haizhou Bay ecosystem. IDiv, IDis, IEve, and IUni were lower in autumn than in spring; IDiv and IDis were relatively higher in offshore waters, while IEve and IUni were relatively higher in inshore waters. The changes in species composition and intensive pelagic–benthic coupling in Haizhou Bay may lead to significant spatiotemporal variations in the trophic diversity of fish communities in the area. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating trophic relationships into ecosystem models, which will help to enhance our understanding of the complexity of the trophic structure of fish communities. Nitrogen (N) availability determines higher plant productivity and yield. However, the molecular mechanisms governing N acquisition and utilization remain largely unknown in maize. In this study, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and Ribo-seq analyses were conducted in maize roots under different N supply conditions. A set of differentially expressed genes enriched in N and phenylpropanoid metabolisms at both the transcription and translation levels were highlighted. Interestingly, less than half of low-N responsive genes were shared between transcription and translation. The alteration of translational efficiency (TE) is also an important mechanism by which maize responds to LN. In addition, we identified low-N-induced open chromatin regions (OCRs) and observed an enrichment of transcription factor (TF) binding motifs. Furthermore, we constructed a transcriptional regulatory network for maize roots subjected to low-N. Organic fertilizers produced from agricultural waste materials using earthworms have many advantages. The impact of vermicompost bio-organic fertilizer (VcF) prepared from waste mushroom bran on the quality of Chinese herbal medicine and soil health deserves attention. We conducted a field experiment to explore the quality of Rhizoma atractylodis and soil, using chemical fertilizer and VcF at dosages of 30 t·ha−1 and 40 t·ha−1. The results demonstrated that VcF significantly increased the contents of atractylenolide II, β-eudesmol, atractylenol, and atractylenolone by 34%, 175%, 72%, and 24%, respectively, along with a 70% increase in yield compared to the control. VcF significantly increased the available phosphorus content and the activity of the soil enzymes (α-Galactosidase, β-Galactosidase, and peroxidase), while reducing the nitrate nitrogen content. The addition of vermicompost did not change the soil bacterial diversity, while it significantly increased the soil fungal diversity. VcF improved the soil fungal diversity and significantly enhanced the relative abundance of the bacterial phylum Actinobacteriota and WPS-2, as well as the fungal phylum Ascomycota. Vermicompost significantly increased the relative abundance of bacteria phylum Actinobacteriota and WPS-2, as well as the fungi phylum Ascomycota. Actinobacteria mainly participate in the decomposition of detritus and the heterotrophic nutrient cycle. A Principal Coordinates Analysis of the soil bacterial and fungi communities suggested a significant impact of vermicompost application on the community structure of the soil bacteria. Conversely, no significant variance was detected in the bacterial community composition across the two levels of vermicompost. This study contributes to the enhancement of fertilization strategies for Atractylodes macrocephala, broadens the application scope of vermicompost, and advances the growth of organic agriculture. The bolts and connections of each working part of a rice combine harvester can suffer from severe instantaneous impacts and alternating loads, and these strong impacts and loads cause instantaneous fracture and fatigue failure of the bolt face and even the loosening, detachment, and fracture of the bolt. The main vibration directions and the most complex vibration parts of the bolts and connections in the main working parts of a combine harvester under time-variable multiload excitation were obtained through the analysis of response signals in terms of time-domain and frequency–domain characteristics via a vibration response experiment. This study revealed that the random peak value of the vibrating screen is 12.5622, which is the severe impact and collision standard. For the vibrating screen, the local peak in the 4-Y direction was the main load of the destroying bolt connection (the impact reached 60.57 m/s2, 96.91 m/s2) and the vibration energy intensity in the 4-Z direction was mainly concentrated at 12.42 m/s2, which is the maximum vibration energy value in the three directions (the peak vibration value reached 109~115.68 m/s2), so the bolted connections of the vibrating screen are the most vulnerable to destruction. Therefore, a kinetic model and a microscopic response model of a vibrating screen were established via the centralized mass method to explore the kinetic response characteristics of bolted structures subjected to multiple excitation loads, thus providing a mathematical model for identifying the features of bolted connections based on static characteristics. In this paper, we study the dynamics of the ratio-dependent type prey–predator model with different free boundaries. The two free boundaries, determined by prey and predator, respectively, implying that they may intersect with each other as time evolves, are used to describe the spreading of prey and predator. Our primary focus lies in analyzing the long-term behaviors of both predator and prey. We establish sufficient conditions for the spreading and vanishing of prey and predator. Furthermore, in cases where spread occurs, we offer estimates for the asymptotic spreading speeds of prey and predator, denoted as u and v, respectively, as well as the asymptotic speeds of the free boundaries, denoted by h and g. The cable-stiffened single-layer latticed shell is an innovative structural design that achieves a perfect balance between lightweight and stability by combining cables and a latticed shell. However, the study on dynamic response and failure mechanism of cable-stiffened single-layer latticed shell under seismic action is still lacking. Therefore, small-scale shaking table tests of two kinds of single-layer spherical latticed shells are carried out; the dynamic response and failure mode of the two shells under sine wave earthquake are investigated by using time history analysis. The conclusions show that the introduction of the prestressed cable plays an important role in improving the seismic performance of the single-layer latticed shell, and the cable-stiffened single-layer latticed shell has better load capacity and seismic performance under earthquake action than the ordinary single-layer latticed shell structure. As global arid conditions worsen and groundwater resources diminish, drought stress has emerged as a critical impediment to plant growth and development globally, notably causing declines in crop yields and even the extinction of certain cultivated species. Numerous studies on drought resistance have demonstrated that DNA methylation dynamically interacts with plant responses to drought stress by modulating gene expression and developmental processes. However, the precise mechanisms underlying these interactions remain elusive. This article consolidates the latest research on the role of DNA methylation in plant responses to drought stress across various species, focusing on methods of methylation detection, mechanisms of methylation pattern alteration (including DNA de novo methylation, DNA maintenance methylation, and DNA demethylation), and overall responses to drought conditions. While many studies have observed significant shifts in genome-wide or gene promoter methylation levels in drought-stressed plants, the identification of specific genes and pathways involved remains limited. This review aims to furnish a reference for detailed research into plant responses to drought stress through epigenetic approaches, striving to identify drought resistance genes regulated by DNA methylation, specific signaling pathways, and their molecular mechanisms of action. 3He is a splendid neutron detection material due to its high neutron reaction cross section, gaseous state, and nonelectronegative and nonpoisonous nature. With the worldwide problem of the "3He supply crisis" arising, boron-lined gaseous neutron detectors are being widely used in neutron detection to replace 3He neutron detectors. In this work, to reduce the scattering neutron background coming from the substrate of a boron-lined neutron detector in the application of neutron scattering, a new design of the boron-lined gaseous neutron detector composed of a boron-lined multichip converter and a multiwire proportional chamber was proposed. The electron drift efficiency matrix simulated by Garfield++ (Version 2023.4) and the values and positions of electron energy deposition simulated by Geant4 were obtained. The α, 7Li, and total charged particle energy deposition spectra were acquired via coupling calculations of the electron drift efficiency matrix and the values and positions of electron energy deposition, and the width of the slit was selected as 3 mm. The boron-lined multilayer converter neutron detector (BMCND) was tested using a 241Am–239Pu mixture α source, and the total count rate of α charged particles was measured as 599.5 s−1, which is 89% of the theoretical α particle emission rate of 672.9 s−1. The drift voltage experiments showed that 1200 V is enough to acquire a relatively ideal count, and a 2500 V drift voltage was confirmed, considering the higher count and instrument safety. We also performed the neutron detection experiments using a photo-neutron source, and a characteristic spectrum shape of "two stairs" was measured. When borated polyethylene was used to shield the BMCND, the detected total count decreased while keeping the characteristic spectrum shape, demonstrating that the BMCND was equipped with the ability to detect neurons, indicating that BMCNDs have the potential to be an outstanding 3He alternative neutron detector. Traffic state classification and relevance calculation at intersections are both difficult problems in traffic control. In this paper, we propose an intersection relevance model based on a temporal graph attention network, which can solve the above two problems at the same time. First, the intersection features and interaction time of the intersections are regarded as input quantities together with the initial labels of the traffic data. Then, they are inputted into the temporal graph attention (TGAT) model to obtain the classification accuracy of the target intersections in four states—free, stable, slow moving, and congested—and the obtained neighbouring intersection weights are used as the correlation between the intersections. Finally, it is validated by VISSIM simulation experiments. In terms of classification accuracy, the TGAT model has a higher classification accuracy than the three traditional classification models and can cope well with the uneven distribution of the number of samples. The information gain algorithm from the information entropy theory was used to derive the average delay as the most influential factor on intersection status. The correlation from the TGAT model positively correlates with traffic flow, making it interpretable. Using this correlation to control the division of subareas improves the road network's operational efficiency more than the traditional correlation model does. The escalation of jellyfish stings has drawn attention to severe skin reactions, underscoring the necessity for novel treatments. This investigation assesses the potential of hydroxybenzoic acid derivatives, specifically protocatechuic acid (PCA) and gentisic acid (DHB), for alleviating Nemopilema nomurai Nematocyst Venom (NnNV)-induced injuries. By employing an in vivo mouse model, the study delves into the therapeutic efficacy of these compounds. Through a combination of ELISA and Western blot analyses, histological examinations, and molecular assays, the study scrutinizes the inflammatory response, assesses skin damage and repair mechanisms, and investigates the compounds' ability to counteract venom effects. Our findings indicate that PCA and DHB significantly mitigate inflammation by modulating critical cytokines and pathways, altering collagen ratios through topical application, and enhancing VEGF and bFGF levels. Furthermore, both compounds demonstrate potential in neutralizing NnNV toxicity by inhibiting metalloproteinases and phospholipase-A2, showcasing the viability of small-molecule compounds in managing toxin-induced injuries. The Chinese urban regeneration movement underscores a "people-oriented" paradigm, aimed at addressing urban challenges stemming from rapid prior urbanization, while striving for high-quality and sustainable urban development. At the community level, fostering quality through a socially sustainable perspective (SSP) is a pivotal strategy for people-oriented urban regeneration. Nonetheless, explorations of community quality assessments grounded in an SSP have been notably scarce in recent scholarly discourse. This study pioneers a multidimensional quantitative model (MQM) for gauging community quality, leveraging diverse geospatial data sources from the SSP framework. The MQM introduces an evaluative framework with "Patency, Convenience, Comfort, and Safety" as primary indicators, integrating multi-sourced data encompassing the area of interest (AOI), Point of Interest (POI), Weibo check-ins, and Dianping data. The model's efficacy is demonstrated through a case study in the Gusu district, Suzhou. Furthermore, semantic analysis of the Gusu district's street view photos validates the MQM results. Our findings reveal the following: (1) AI-based semantic analysis accurately verifies the validity of MQM-generated community quality measurements, establishing its robust applicability with multi-sourced geospatial data; (2) the community quality distribution in Gusu district is notably correlated with the urban fabric, exhibiting lower quality within the ancient town area and higher quality outside it; and (3) communities of varying quality coexist spatially, with high- and low-quality communities overlapping in the same regions. This research pioneers a systematic, holistic methodology for quantitatively measuring community quality, laying the groundwork for informed urban regeneration policies, planning, and place making. The MQM, fortified by multi-sourced geospatial data and AI-based semantic analysis, offers a rigorous foundation for assessing community quality, thereby guiding socially sustainable regeneration initiatives and decision making at the community scale. The breeding of laying hens and broilers in China has increased tremendously. Wet organic fertilizer prepared from hen manure using high-temperature container fermentation preserves high levels of nutrients and a diverse microbial community. We applied low doses of organic fertilizer to peanuts in the black soil area of China's northeastern region. Based on the calculation of nitrogen content, treatments were set as follows: chemical fertilizer (PCF), organic fertilizer (POF, 4500 kg·ha−1), and replacement of 50% chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer (PR, 2250 kg·ha−1). Compared to the plots with chemical fertilizers, the use of organic fertilizer and replacing 50% of the chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizer significantly increased peanut yields. Both the organic fertilizer and replacing 50% of the chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizer did not significantly affect the activities of the most tested soil enzymes related to carbon transformation and the absolute abundance of microorganisms. However, they did significantly enhance soil dehydrogenase and α-glucosidase. The community abundance ratio of fungi/bacteria trended downward, leading to soil with a high-fertility bacterial composition. The replacement of 50% chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer significantly enhanced the species richness and diversity of the bacterial and fungal communities. Organic fertilizer treatment significantly increased the relative abundance of Gemmatimonas and Sphingomonas. The relative abundance of Mycobacterium in the treatment where 50% of the chemical fertilizers were replaced with organic fertilizer was significantly lower than that in the organic fertilizer treatment. The 2023 SDGs report underscores the prolonged disruption of COVID-19 on community living spaces, infrastructure, education, and income equality, exacerbating social and spatial inequality. Against the backdrop of the dual impact of significant events and the emergence of digital technologies, a coherent research trajectory is essential for characterizing social–spatial equity and understanding its influential factors within the urban planning discipline. While prior research emphasized spatial dimensions and mitigated spatial differentiation to ensure urban equity, the complexity of these interconnections necessitates a more comprehensive approach. This study adopts a holistic perspective, focusing on the "social–spatial" dynamics, utilizing social perception (sentiment maps) and spatial differentiation (housing prices index) pre- and post-pandemic to elucidate the interconnected and interactive nature of uneven development at the urban scale. It employs a multi-dimensional methodological framework integrating morphology analysis of housing conditions, GIS analysis of urban amenities, sentiment semantic analysis of public opinion, and multiscale geographically weighted regression (MGWR) analysis of correlation influential factors. Using Suzhou, China, as a pilot study, this research demonstrates how these integrated methods complement each other, exploring how community conditions and resource distribution collectively bolster resilience, thereby maintaining social–spatial equity amidst pandemic disruptions. The findings reveal that uneven resource distribution exacerbates post-pandemic social stratification and spatial differentiation. The proximity of well-maintained ecological environments, such as parks or scenic landmarks, generally exhibits consistency and positive effects on "social–spatial" measurement. Simultaneously, various spatial elements influencing housing prices and social perception show geographic heterogeneity, particularly in areas farther from the central regions of Xiangcheng and Wujiang districts. This paper aims to reveal the motion law and collision behaviors of shotcrete particle flow jets. A physical model of the jet flow field composed of a nozzle structure and jet area was constructed and meshes with various sizes were used to mesh the nozzle and jet area. With the basic contact parameters and contact model parameters of the particles set, the CFD-DEM-coupling simulation method was adopted to perform the numerical simulation of concrete-particle-flow-jet impingement. The variation laws of the continuous-phase velocity and pressure drop of the shotcrete, coarse-aggregate motion characteristics, and particle collision behavior under the interaction of the continuous and discrete phases were obtained. The results showed that the velocity field and pressure-drop field of the continuous phase had an ideal symmetry in the XY plane in the stable injection stage, the continuous-phase velocity gradually increased inside the nozzle and gradually decreased after entering the jet area, the continuous-phase pressure drop was the maximum at the nozzle inlet, and the pressure value at the nozzle outlet became atmospheric pressure. The central axis of the particle flow jet was displaced by 0.15 m in the negative direction of the Y-axis under the action of gravity, the diffusion angle of the small particles that exited the nozzle and entered the jet area was larger than that of the large particles, and the large-particle jets were more concentrated and easier to spray into the designated spraying areas. The particle flow reached a stable jet state about 0.3 s after the jet began, and the peak velocity of the 4 mm particles in the flow reached 25 m/s, while the peak velocity of the 12 mm particles was only 19 m/s. The acceleration time for particles of different sizes to reach the peak velocity also varied, and the large particles took longer to reach the maximum velocity: small particles reached their peak within 0.4 m–8 m of the jet area, and large particles reached their peak within 0.8 m–1.2 m of the jet area. The particle velocity peaked within 0.6 m–1 m of the jet area. Particle collision took three forms: particle collision with the inner wall of the nozzle, interparticle collision, and particle collision with the sprayed wall. The collision between the particles and the sprayed wall was the main form leading to the rebound of the wet shotcrete, and the rebound angle after particle collision was uncertain. Accelerated urbanization has led to regional disruptions and exacerbated imbalances in spatial quality, social cohesion, and inequalities. Urban regeneration, as a mitigating strategy for these disruptions, faces significant social challenges, particularly at the community scale. This study addresses the existing research gap by comprehensively reviewing community regeneration (CR) from a socially sustainable perspective (SSP). Utilizing VOSviewer software, we synthesize and categorize relevant research trends and methods spanning from 2006 to 2023, retrieving 213 coded articles among 5002 relevant documents from Web of Science bibliometric datasets. The study explores the implementation trajectory of CR, considering novel scenario demands, emerging technologies, and new development paradigms and approaches. It delves into human-centric approaches to enhance the quality of life, precision, and diversification of community engagement and cultivate a sense of community equity and belonging. Moreover, the findings highlight densification as a synergistic and adaptive strategy for current regeneration actions. Currently, the effects of dietary levels of n-3 highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFAs) on the growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immunity, and serum oxylipin profiles of female F2-generation Yangtze sturgeon remain unknown. A total of 75 Yangtze sturgeons, an endangered freshwater fish species, with an average body weight of 3.60 ± 0.83 kg, were randomly allocated to 15 concrete pools, with each dietary group represented by 5 fish per pool. The fish were fed five different experimental diets containing various levels of n-3 HUFAs (0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, and 2.4%). After a feeding period of 5 months, no significant differences in the growth performances of the fish were observed among the five dietary groups (p > 0.05). However, we did note that the serum levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides (TGs), and total cholesterol (TCHO) exhibited a marked increase in the fish that consumed higher dietary n-3 HUFA levels (p < 0.05). Conversely, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities showed a notable decrease as dietary n-3 HUFA levels increased (p < 0.05). Serum antioxidant indices, such as the activity levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), were significantly higher in the 2.4% HUFA group compared to the 0.5% HUFA group. Additionally, muscle antioxidant indices, including total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), catalase (CAT), and SOD activity, exhibited notable increases as dietary n-3 HUFA levels increased (p < 0.05). Furthermore, there was a decrease in malondialdehyde (MDA) levels as dietary n-3 HUFA levels increased (p < 0.05). In relation to immune indices, only serum immunoglobulin M (IgM) and muscle complement 3 (C3) were found to be influenced by dietary n-3 HUFA levels (p < 0.05). A total of 80 oxylipins were quantified, and our subsequent K-means cluster analysis resulted in the classification of 62 oxylipins into 10 subclasses. Among the different n-3 HUFA diets, a total of 14 differential oxylipins were identified in the sera. These findings demonstrate that dietary supplementation with n-3 HUFAs exceeding a 1.0% level can enhance antioxidant capacity and regulate serum lipid metabolism, potentially through modulation of oxylipins derived from ARA, DHA, and EPA. This paper focuses on the response of reticulated shell structures under oblique impact loads, with a departure from the traditional emphasis on vertical impact loads. These structures are typically utilised in large-span spaces such as iconic buildings and large venues. The study begins by establishing a numerical simulation method for reticulated shell structures subjected to oblique impact loads, which is then validated against existing experimental results. Building on this verified method, the research delves into the effects of varying impactor mass, velocity, and initial kinetic energy on the reticulated shell structure under oblique impacts, as well as the influence of different oblique impact angles. The study extensively examines the failure modes of the structure, node displacements in the structure, and variations in member stress under different impactor parameters. It further investigates how these parameters influence the maximum impact bearing capacity, impact duration, energy dissipation capability, and response forms of the structures, analyzing the reasons behind these effects. In this study, Arundo donax Linnaeus was utilized as the biomass and a TH/DS (Tetra-n-butylammonium hydroxide/Dimethyl sulfoxide, C16H37NO/C2H6OS) system was employed to dissolve biomass cellulose. The optimal process for the preparation of Arundo donax L. biomass regenerated cellulose fiber was determined through process optimization. The physical properties and antimicrobial performance of the resulting products were analyzed. The results demonstrated that the physical indicators of biomass regenerated cellulose fiber, prepared from Arundo donax L. cellulose, met the requirements of the standard for Viscose Filament (Dry breaking strength ≥ 1.65 CN/dtex, Elongation at dry breaking 15.5–26.0%, and Dry elongation CV value ≤ 10.0%). Additionally, excellent antimicrobial properties were exhibited by the biomass regenerated cellulose fiber developed in this study, with antibacterial rates against Staphylococcus aureus and other three strain indexes meeting the Viscose Filament standards. Furthermore, high antiviral activity of 99.99% against H1N1 and H3N2 strains of influenza A virus was observed in the experimental samples, indicating a remarkable antiviral effect. In this paper, we propose an in-line fiber sensor probe based on UV-glue-assisted cascaded Fabry–Perot cavities for temperature measurement. The UV-curable adhesive in the sensing cavity plays an important role due to its high thermo-optic coefficient. We show that the temperature sensitivity depends on the optical path length difference between both cavities. We report a maximum value of 12.57 nm/°C in the range of 20 to 30 °C. This original sensor architecture features a low cost and simple structure that can be straightforwardly manufactured with readily available materials and a short production time. Triple organic Rankine cycle (TORC) is gradually gaining interest, but the maximum thermal efficiencies (around 30%) are restricted by low critical temperatures of common working fluids (<320 °C). This paper proposes a high-temperature (up to 400 °C) TORC system to ramp up efficiency. A near-azeotropic mixture biphenyl/diphenyl oxide (BDO), which has a stellar track record in the high-temperature ORC applications, is innovatively adopted as the top and middle ORC fluid simultaneously. Four conventional organic fluids are chosen for the bottom ORC. A mixing heat exchanger connects the top and middle ORCs to reduce irreversible loss. Thermodynamic analysis hints that the optimal performance is achieved on the use of benzene as the bottom fluid. The maximum thermal and exergy efficiencies are respectively 40.86% and 74.14%. The largest exergy destruction occurs inside the heat exchanger coupling the middle and bottom ORCs, accounting for above 30% of the total entropy generation. The levelized energy cost (LEC) is 0.0368 USD/kWh. Given the same heat source condition, the TORC system can boost the efficiency by 1.02% and drive down LEC by 0.0032 USD/kWh compared with a BDO mixture-based cascade ORC. Low phosphorus (LP) stress leads to a significant reduction in wheat yield, primarily in the reduction of biomass, the number of tillers and spike grains, the delay in heading and flowering, and the inhibition of starch synthesis and grouting. However, the differences in regulatory pathway responses to low phosphorus stress among different wheat genotypes are still largely unknown. In this study, metabolome and transcriptome analyses of G28 (LP-tolerant) and L143 (LP-sensitive) wheat varieties after 72 h of normal phosphorus (CK) and LP stress were performed. A total of 181 and 163 differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) were detected for G28CK vs. G28LP and L143CK vs. L143LP, respectively. Notably, the expression of pilocarpine (C07474) in G28CK vs. G28LP was significantly downregulated 4.77-fold, while the expression of neochlorogenic acid (C17147) in L143CK vs. L143LP was significantly upregulated 2.34-fold. A total of 4023 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were acquired between G28 and L143, of which 1120 DEGs were considered as the core DEGs of LP tolerance of wheat after LP treatment. The integration of metabolomics and transcriptomic data further revealed that the LP tolerance of wheat was closely related to 15 metabolites and 18 key genes in the sugar and amino acid metabolism pathway. The oxidative phosphorylation pathway was enriched to four ATPases, two cytochrome c reductase genes, and fumaric acid under LP treatment. Moreover, PHT1;1, TFs (ARFA, WRKY40, MYB4, MYB85), and IAA20 genes were related to the Pi starvation stress of wheat roots. Therefore, the differences in LP tolerance of different wheat varieties were related to energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism, phytohormones, and PHT proteins, and precisely regulated by the levels of various molecular pathways to adapt to Pi starvation stress. Taken together, this study may help to reveal the complex regulatory process of wheat adaptation to Pi starvation and provide new genetic clues for further study on improving plant Pi utilization efficiency. Peptides have demonstrated their efficacy as catalysts in asymmetric aldol reactions. But the constraints inherent in chemical synthesis have imposed limitations on the viability of long-chain peptide catalysts. A noticeable dearth of tools has impeded the swift and effective screening of peptide catalysts using biological methods. To address this, we introduce a straightforward bioprocess for the screening of peptide catalysts for asymmetric aldol reactions. We synthesized several peptides through this method and obtained a 15-amino acid peptide. This peptide exhibited asymmetric aldol catalytic activity, achieving 77% ee in DMSO solvent and 63% ee with over an 80.8% yield in DMSO mixed with a pH 9.0 buffer solution. Wastewater with a low carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio is widespread and difficult to treat. The addition of an external carbon source is an effective method for treating such wastewater. Therefore, we aimed to prepare a self-releasing carbon biofilm carrier using agricultural waste (corncobs), polyvinyl alcohol, and sponge iron in various ratios to provide a carbon source that would facilitate denitrification, providing an optimal environment for microorganisms. We found that the carbon release of the MAC biofilm carrier that accumulated over 60 d was 116.139 mg of chemical oxygen demand (COD)·g−1, whereas the accumulated total nitrogen release was approximately 0 mg·(g·d)−1. The NO3−-N removal rate after 24 h reached 98.1%, whereas the theoretical use rate of the carbon source (in terms of COD) was stable at 90.34%. In addition, the sum of the abundances of the denitrifying and cellulose-degrading bacteria was 49.89%. Furthermore, biofilm carriers are used as functional carriers that contribute to cellulose degradation, a process in which sponge iron produces Fe2+ to provide electron donors and shuttles for denitrifying bacteria and forms the iron cycle, thereby inducing an increase in microbial abundance; this increase then facilitates the microbial degradation of cellulose and synergistic denitrification through interspecific bacterial cooperation. Studying the spatiotemporal distribution pattern of carbon storage, balancing land development and utilization with ecological protection, and promoting urban low-carbon sustainable development are important topics under China's "dual carbon strategy" (Carbon emissions stabilize and harmonize with natural carbon absorption). However, existing research has paid little attention to the impact of land use changes under different spatial policies on the provincial-scale ecosystem carbon storage. In this study, we established a carbon density database for Liaoning Province and obtained the spatial and temporal distribution of carbon storage over the past 20 years. Then, based on 16 driving factors and multiple spatial policies in Liaoning Province, we predicted land use and land cover changes (LUCC) under three scenarios for 2050 and analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and response mechanisms of carbon storage under different scenarios. The results showed that (1) LUCC directly affected carbon storage, with a 35.61% increase in construction land and a decrease in carbon storage of 0.51 Tg over the 20-year period. (2) From 2020 to 2050, the carbon storage varied significantly among the natural trend scenario (NTS), ecological restoration scenario (ERS), and economic priority scenario (EPS), with values of 2112.05 Tg, 2164.40 Tg, and 2105.90 Tg, respectively. Carbon storage in the ecological restoration scenario exhibited positive growth, mainly due to a substantial increase in forest area. (3) The spatial pattern of carbon storage in Liaoning Province was characterized by "low in the center, high in the east, and balanced in the west". Therefore, Liaoning Province can consider rationally formulating and strictly implementing the spatial policy of ecological protection in the future land planning so as to control the disorderly growth of construction land, realize the growth of ecological land area, effectively enhance carbon storage, and ensure the realization of the goal of "dual carbon strategy". The quantitative measurement of the microvascular blood-flow velocity is critical to the early diagnosis of microvascular dysfunction, yet there are several challenges with the current quantitative flow velocity imaging techniques for the microvasculature. Optical flow analysis allows for the quantitative imaging of the blood-flow velocity with a high spatial resolution, using the variation in pixel brightness between consecutive frames to trace the motion of red blood cells. However, the traditional optical flow algorithm usually suffers from strong noise from the background tissue, and a significant underestimation of the blood-flow speed in blood vessels, due to the errors in detecting the feature points in optical images. Here, we propose a temporal direction filtering and peak interpolation optical flow method (TPIOF) to suppress the background noise, and improve the accuracy of the blood-flow velocity estimation. Steel trusses are widely utilized in engineering structures, and their optimization is essential for enhancing structural performance and reducing material consumption. Existing optimization methods for steel trusses predominantly rely on the trial-and-error method, which is not only inefficient but also inaccurate. Therefore, this study focused on the optimization of steel trusses using an efficient and accurate optimization methodology. Based on a genetic algorithm and the finite element method, both mono- and multi-parameter optimization designs for steel trusses were executed, an applicable optimization design method for steel trusses was established, and corresponding optimization design programs were developed. The analysis demonstrates that the proposed optimization method effectively optimizes truss height and member cross-section, leading to a significant reduction in material consumption. Compared to the traditional trial-and-error method, the proposed optimization method exhibits adequate calculation accuracy and superior optimization efficiency, thereby providing a robust theoretical foundation for the engineering design of steel trusses. Sustainable urban forms (SUF) guide spatial creation, significantly revitalise the development of traditional settlements, and are an essential theoretical support for urban design. At the same time, the emergence of quantitative spatial analysis technology further promotes the visualised evaluation of the performance of spatial vitality in urban design. However, current research rarely studies the spatial vitality of traditional settlements with quantitative spatial analysis from the SUF perspective. Therefore, this research takes Anren Ancient Town in Chengdu, Western China, as an example to propose a design based on sustainable urban form theory to raise local spatial vitality. Then, it introduces the vitality evaluation system based on the urban form index (UFI) with three measurement methods: Space Syntax, Spacemate, and MXI, and conducts a comparative spatial vitality evaluation of Anren Ancient Town's status quo to explain the process of how the design scheme came about. The results found that urban design proposals based on the principles of compactness, mixed land use and diversity in SUF design guidelines can effectively improve the vitality of traditional settlements. The high vitality of an urban settlement could be achieved by combining SUF-based design guidelines and UFI-based evaluation systems. The spatial vitality evaluation system based on the SUF could assist and optimise decision-making in design and act as a paradigm for urban design or urban regeneration in traditional towns. Elucidating the genetic basis of starch pasting and gelatinization properties is crucial for enhancing the quality of maize and its utility as feed and industrial raw material. In maize, ZmSBE genes encode important starch branching enzymes in the starch biosynthesis pathway. In this study, we re-sequenced the genomic sequences of ZmSBEI, ZmSBEIIa, ZmSBEIIb, and ZmSBEIII in three lines called 335 inbred lines, 68 landrace lines, and 32 teosinte lines. Analyses of nucleotide polymorphisms and haplotype diversity revealed differences in the selection patterns of ZmSBEI, ZmSBEIIa, ZmSBEIIb, and ZmSBEIII during maize domestication and improvement. A marker–trait association analysis of inbred lines detected 22 significant loci, including 18 SNPs and 4 indels significantly associated with three maize starch physicochemical properties. The allele frequencies of two variants (SNP17249C and SNP5055G) were examined in three lines. The frequency of SNP17249C in ZmSBEIIb was highest in teosinte lines, followed by landrace lines, and inbred lines, whereas there were no significant differences in the frequency of SNP5055G in ZmSBEIII among the three lines. These results suggest that ZmSBE genes play an important role in the phenotypic variations in the starch physicochemical properties in maize. The Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2), launched in September 2018, has been widely used in forestry and surveying. A high-accuracy digital elevation model (DEM)/digital surface model (DSM) for terrain matching can effectively evaluate the ICESat-2 design requirements and provide essential data support for further study. The conventional terrain-matching methods regard the laser ground track as a whole, ignoring the individual differences caused by the interaction of photons during flight. Therefore, a novel terrain-matching method using a two-dimensional affine transformation model was proposed to describe the deformation of laser tracks. The least-square optimizes the model parameters with the high-accuracy terrain data to obtain the best matching result. The results in McMurdo Dry Valley (MDV), Antarctica, and Zhengzhou (ZZ), China, demonstrate that the proposed method can verify geolocation accuracy and indicate that the average horizontal accuracy of ICESat-2 V5 data is about 3.86 m in MDV and 4.67 m in ZZ. It shows that ICESat-2 has good positioning accuracy, even in mountainous areas with complex terrain. Additionally, the random forest (RF) model was calculated to analyze the influence of four factors on geographic location accuracy. Environmentally friendly and efficient biodegradation with chitosanase for degrading chitosan to oligosaccharide has been gaining more importance. Here, we studied a chitosanase from Aspergillus fumigatus with potential for production, but does not have the ideal thermal stability. The structure predicted by the Alphafold2 model, especially the binding site and two catalytic residues, has been found to have a high similarity with the experimental structure of the chitosanase V-CSN from the same family. The effects of temperature on structure and function were studied by dynamic simulation and the results showed that the binding site had high flexibility. After heating up from 300 K to 350 K, the RMSD and RMSF of the binding site increased significantly, in particular, the downward shift of loop6 closed the binding site, resulting in the spatial hindrance of binding. The time proportions of important hydrogen bonds at the binding site decreased sharply, indicating that serious disruption of hydrogen bonds should be the main interaction factor for conformational changes. The residues contributing energetically to binding were also revealed to be in the highly flexible region, which inevitably leads to the decrease in the activity stability at high temperature. Chitooligosaccharide (COS) is a green and non-toxic cationic carbohydrate that has attracted wide attention in recent years due to its anti-inflammatory activity. However, the anti-inflammatory mechanism of COS remains unclear. In this study, RNA-seq was used to investigate the integrated response of COS to LPS-induced damage in macrophages. The results showed that the experimental group with COS had 2570 genes with significant differences compared to the model group, and that these genes were more enriched in inflammatory and immune pathways. The KEGG results showed that COS induces the pleiotropic modulation of classical inflammatory pathways, such as the Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, NF-κB, MAPK, etc. Based on the RNA-seq data and the RT-qPCR, as well as the WB validation, COS can significantly upregulate the expression of membrane receptors, such as Tlr4, Tlr5, and MR, and significantly inhibits the phosphorylation of several important proteins, such as IκB and JNK. Aluminum alloy gusset (AAG) joints are widely applied in space reticulated shell structures. To investigate the flexural performance of AAG joints under the combined action of shear force and in-plane and out-of-plane bending moments, this analysis was developed by means of finite element (FE) models implemented in the non-linear code ABAQUS, and the accuracy of the FE simulation results based on the existing AAG joint test results was verified. The FE simulation results effectively described the mechanical properties of the AAG joints, including the failure mode, deformation process and bending moment-rotation curves. Furthermore, a parametric study was conducted by varying the height of the member section, the number of bolts, the radius of the joint plate, the thickness of the joint plate, the bolt preload force, and the ratio of in-plane to out-of-plane bending moments. Zinc–aluminum layered double hydroxides (ZnAl-LDHs) film is a typical effective corrosion resistant film currently being explored. In this study, ZnAl-LDHs film was prepared on magnesium alloys with different surface roughness by means of metallographic preparation combined with the hydrothermal method. When the surface roughness Sa was at a minimum of 0.094 μm, the ZnAl-LDH films grew the most intensely, reaching 3.8 μm in thickness with a static contact angle of 84.34° and a minimum corrosion current density (icorr) of 1.12 × 10−4 A/cm2. After the neutral salt spray test, the sample mass was only increased by 0.0424 g. The results show that the size of ZnAl-LDHs nanosheets can be tailored by roughness of Mg alloy surface. The low roughness of magnesium substrate can accelerate the growth rate of ZnAl-LDH films, increase the thickness of films, and improve their corrosion resistance, but it is disadvantageous to the excellent hydrophobic properties of the surface. Finally, the possible growth and corrosion prevention mechanisms of LDHs films were proposed. This also provides a theoretical basis for the optimal processing parameters of magnesium alloy surface. The new generation of spaceborne laser altimeter, the Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2), which can simultaneously generate laser reflections on the water surface and underwater, is a potential data source for exploring water depth in nearshore environments. To achieve this scientific goal, accurate bathymetric photon extraction is needed. This study proposed a pre-pruning quadtree isolation (PQI) method with changing threshold. Firstly, the pre-pruning step is introduced. Photons are transformed into different levels in the isolated quadtree structure according to spatial density. Then, the frequency histogram of photon elevation and isolated level (IL) is generated, the IL thresholds in different depth ranges are calculated by the Otsu method, and the bathymetric photons are extracted. The results in the Culebra archive show that this method achieved a 92.71% F1 score. Noise rate and water depth are the main factors affecting the extraction of sounding photons. When the photon density gradually increases from 2–4 pts/m to 6–8 pts/m, the F1 score of PQI decreases by no more than two percent. In different depth ranges, the extraction results of PQI are also better than those of comparison methods. Jellyfish is a valuable biological resource in marine ecosystems, and blooms been observed in numerous coastal regions. However, their utility is limited by their high water content. Recent research has focused on extracting antioxidants from marine sources. In this study, we obtained jellyfish peptides (JPHT-2) through enzymatic hydrolysis of lyophilized jellyfish powder under optimal conditions and measured their antioxidant activity. Our findings indicate that JPHT-2 possesses significant radical-scavenging activity and reducing power. At a concentration of 0.74 mg/mL, JPHT-2 exhibited a remarkable ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals, with a rate of up to 50%. The EC50 values for scavenging superoxide anion and DPPH radical were 1.55 mg/mL and 1.99 mg/mL, respectively. At the cellular level, JPHT-2 was able to protect HaCaT cells from H2O2-induced oxidative damage by increasing the level of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in cells. In conclusion, jellyfish peptides with low molecular weight can be easily obtained through hydrolysis with three enzymes and exhibit excellent antioxidant activity and safety. The document explores the deep-processing of seafood, valorization of seafood processing by-products, and the development and application of marine microbial resources as potential solutions for high-value utilization of marine biological resources. Chiral amines are essential components for many pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. However, the difficulty in obtaining enantiomerically pure amines limits their application. In this study, hollow amorphous ZIF-90 (HamZIF-90) materials were prepared by template engraving, and chemical–enzyme coupling catalysts (HamZIF-90@Pd@CALB) were constructed for the chiral resolution of 1-phenylethylamine. Different from conventional materials, HamZIF-90 had tunable hollow structures by altering its central node zinc ion concentrations, and the embedded hydrogel template gave it more pore structures, which facilitated the loading of enzyme molecules and Pd nanoparticles (NPs). The establishment of the coupling catalysts shortened the mass transfer distance of the reactant molecules between the metal nanoparticles and the enzyme catalyst in the dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) reaction, resulting in 98% conversion of 1-phenylethylamine and 93% selectivity of Sel.R-amide. Malus hupehensis (MH), as a natural resource, contains various active ingredients such as polyphenols, polysaccharides, proteins, amino acids, volatile substances, and other components. Increasingly, studies have indicated that MH showed a variety of biological activities, including antioxidant, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory activities, and other activities. Hence, MH has attracted wide interest because of its high medical and nutritional value. It is necessary to review the active components and biological activities of MH. Macrophages and fibroblasts are two types of important cells in wound healing. The development of novel platforms for studying the interrelationship between these two cells is crucial for the exploration of wound-healing mechanisms and drug development. In this study, a microfluidic chip composed of two layers was designed for the co-culturing of these two cells. An air valve was employed to isolate fibroblasts to simulate the wound-healing microenvironment. The confluence rate of fibroblasts in the co-culture system with different macrophages was explored to reflect the role of different macrophages in wound healing. It was demonstrated that M2-type macrophages could promote the activation and migration of fibroblasts and it can be inferred that they could promote the wound-healing process. The proposed microfluidic co-culture system was designed for non-contact cell–cell interactions, which has potential significance for the study of cell–cell interactions in biological processes such as wound healing, tumor microenvironment, and embryonic development.
