Highly interactive honeypots can form reliable connections by responding to attackers to delay and capture intranet attacks. However, current research focuses on modeling the attacker as part of the environment and defining single-step attack actions by simulation to study the interaction of honeypots. It ignores the iterative nature of the attack and defense game, which is inconsistent with the correlative and sequential nature of actions in real attacks. These limitations lead to insufficient interaction of the honeypot response strategies generated by the study, making it difficult to support effective and continuous games with attack behaviors. In this paper, we propose an autonomous attack response framework (named AARF) to enhance interaction based on multi-agent dynamic games. AARF consists of three parts: a virtual honeynet environment, attack agents, and defense agents. Attack agents are modeled to generate multi-step attack chains based on a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) combined with the generic threat framework ATT&CK (Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge). The defense agents iteratively interact with the attack behavior chain based on reinforcement learning (RL) to learn to generate honeypot optimal response strategies. Aiming at the sample utilization inefficiency problem of random uniform sampling widely used in RL, we propose the dynamic value label sampling (DVLS) method in the dynamic environment. DVLS can effectively improve the sample utilization during the experience replay phase and thus improve the learning efficiency of honeypot agents under the RL framework. We further couple it with a classic DQN to replace the traditional random uniform sampling method. Based on AARF, we instantiate different functional honeypot models for deception in intranet scenarios. In the simulation environment, honeypots collaboratively respond to multi-step intranet attack chains to defend against these attacks, which demonstrates the effectiveness of AARF. The average cumulative reward of the DQN with DVLS is beyond eight percent, and the convergence speed is improved by five percent compared to a classic DQN. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) represents a substantial global health challenge, with its impact on mortality and morbidity rates surpassing that of cancer. The present study was designed to explore the cardioprotective properties of anthocyanin (ACN), a compound derived from black barley, against oxidative stress-induced damage in myocardial cells and to uncover the molecular mechanisms at play. Utilizing both in vitro and in vivo experimental models, our findings indicate that ACN notably reduced cell damage caused by oxidative stress and effectively prevented apoptosis. High-throughput RNA sequencing analysis has shed light on the mechanism by which ACN achieves its antioxidative stress effects, implicating the PTEN-Akt signaling pathway. ACN was found to modulate PTEN expression levels, which in turn influences the Akt pathway, leading to a reduction in apoptotic processes. This novel insight lays the groundwork for the potential clinical utilization of ACN in the management of CVD. While this study has shed light on some of the functions of ACN, it is important to recognize that natural compounds often interact with multiple molecular targets and engage in intricate signaling cascades. Future research endeavors will concentrate on further elucidating the regulatory mechanisms by which ACN influences PTEN expression, with the goal of enhancing our comprehension and expanding the therapeutic potential of ACN in the treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Vulnerabilities are often accompanied by cyberattacks. CVE is the largest repository of open vulnerabilities, which keeps expanding. ATT&CK models known multi-step attacks both tactically and technically and remains up to date. It is valuable to correlate the vulnerability in CVE with the corresponding tactic and technique of ATT&CK which exploit the vulnerability, for active defense. Mappings manually is not only time-consuming but also difficult to keep up-to-date. Existing language-based automated mapping methods do not utilize the information associated with attack behaviors outside of CVE and ATT&CK and are therefore ineffective. In this paper, we propose a novel framework named VTT-LLM for mapping Vulnerabilities to Tactics and Techniques based on Large Language Models, which consists of a generation model and a mapping model. In order to generate fine-tuning instructions for LLM, we create a template to extract knowledge of CWE (a standardized list of common weaknesses) and CAPEC (a standardized list of common attack patterns). We train the generation model of VTT-LLM by fine-tuning the LLM according to the above instructions. The generation model correlates vulnerability and attack through their descriptions. The mapping model transforms the descriptions of ATT&CK tactics and techniques into vectors through text embedding and further associates them with attacks through semantic matching. By leveraging the knowledge of CWE and CAPEC, VTT-LLM can eventually automate the process of linking vulnerabilities in CVE to the attack techniques and tactics of ATT&CK. Experiments on the latest public dataset, ChatGPT-VDMEval, show the effectiveness of VTT-LLM with an accuracy of 85.18%, which is 13.69% and 54.42% higher than the existing CVET and ChatGPT-based methods, respectively. In addition, compared to fine-tuning without outside knowledge, the accuracy of VTT-LLM with chain fine-tuning is 9.24% higher on average across different LLMs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Phytolacca americana, introduced to China in the 20th century for its medicinal properties, has posed a significant ecological and agricultural challenge. Its prolific fruit production, high reproductive coefficient, adaptability, and toxic roots and fruits have led to the formation of monoculture communities, reducing native species diversity and posing threats to agriculture, human and animal health, and local ecosystems. Understanding its potential distribution patterns at a regional scale and its response to climate change is essential for effective monitoring, management, and control. In this study, we utilized the Maxent model to simulate potential habitat areas of P. americana across three timeframes (current, 2050s, and 2070s) under three climate change scenarios (SSP126, SSP245, and SSP585). Leveraging data from 556 P. americana sites across China, we employed ROC curves to assess the prediction accuracy. Our findings highlight key environmental factors influencing P. americana's geographical distribution, including the driest month's precipitation, the coldest month's minimum temperature, the wettest month's precipitation, isothermality, and temperature annual range. Under current climate conditions, P. americana potentially inhabits 280.26 × 104 km2 in China, with a concentration in 27 provinces and cities within the Yangtze River basin and its southern regions. While future climate change scenarios do not drastically alter the total suitable area, the proportions of high and low-suitability areas decrease over time, shifting towards moderate suitability. Specifically, in the SSP126 scenario, the centroid of the predicted suitable area shifts northeastward and then southwestward. The effects of invasive species on the local community (e.g., structure and stability) are highly environmentally dependent. Invasions of amphibious species usually take place in both xeric and humid environments, yet they are relatively poorly understood. In this study, we analyzed the communities that were dominated by Alternanthera philoxeroides using ecological niche and interspecific association. A total of 66 species and 67 species were recorded in the xeric environment and humid environment, respectively. In both environments, species in family Gramineae, such as Echinochloa crusgalli and Cynodon dactylon, exhibited a higher level of importance values and greater ecological niche widths. The interspecific association and stability of the dominant species were weak and the dominant species were relatively independent of each other. In the xeric environment, A. philoxeroides was more compatible with E. crusgalli and C. dactylon in terms of ecological niche requirements and habitat suitability. In humid habitats, A. philoxeroides had a greater correlation with E. crusgalli, C. dactylon, and Persicaria lapathifolia, suggesting a higher possibility of concomitant occurrence. Overall, we suggested that during the revegetation after A. philoxeroides invasion, E. crusgalli and C. dactylon can be the alternative plants. Meanwhile, alternative control measures for A. philoxeroides invasion in agricultural fields should give more consideration to the use of plants with economic or ecological value. Amorphization is widely used as an effective method of increasing the solubility of insoluble drugs. However, some amorphous drugs exhibit a much lower dissolution rate than their corresponding crystalline form due to their gelation. In this study, we reported the gels formed from amorphous acemetacin (ACM) for the first time. Gelation was promoted at conditions of lower pH, higher temperature and lower ionic strength. Solid-state characterizations suggested that ACM gels may be formed by recrystallization. This mechanism provides a new direction in facilitating the elimination of gelation for amorphous drugs. It is important for clinicians to determine the risk of worsening trajectories in SSc patients. The Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium (SCTC) Damage Index (DI) has been developed to quantify organ damage and shows good capability for mortality and morbidity prediction in patients with SSc. This retrospective study aimed to describe the SCTC-DI in Chinese SSc patients and to find features predicting worse organ damage trajectories based on SCTC-DI. A total of 433 SSc patients who met the inclusion criteria in the Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH-SSc) and People's Hospital SSc cohort (PKUPH-SSc) were recruited for our study. Organ damage was relatively mild in our Chinese SSc cohort compared to other cohorts, with a mean SCTC-DI of 5.21 ± 4.60. We used both SCTC-DI ≥ 6 and ≥4 to define the high burden of organ damage and established two risk models by the LASSO algorithm, which revealed good identification of high organ damage burden (AUC = 0.689, 95% CI 0.636 to 0.742, p < 0.001 in SCTC-DI ≥ 6 model; AUC = 0.694, 95% CI 0.641 to 0.746, p < 0.001 in modified SCTC-DI ≥ 4 model). The anemia index at the baseline was included in these two models and was also independently related to organ damage progression (HR = 1.75, 95% CI 1.16 to 2.66, p = 0.008). In addition, the presence of an anti-Scl-70 autoantibody was also a predictor of progression (HR = 1.91, 95% CI 1.22 to 2.99, p = 0.005). In conclusion, anemia at the baseline was an important indicator for worse organ damage trajectories in SSc patients. Identifying relationships among multiple ecosystem services (ESs) at different scales and the factors affecting such relationships is the foundation for sustainable ecosystem management. A case study was conducted in the Sihu Lake Basin, an agricultural basin in Central China, to examine the interactions among ESs across different scales and the responses to landscape pattern changes (2000–2020). The results indicate that (1) agricultural land and wetlands were converted into construction land and gradually decreased in size; forestland and artificial channels gradually increased in size. (2) ESs had spatial heterogeneity in their strength at the grid and county scales. (3) Most relationships between ESs were synergistic at the grid and county scales, and most correlations increased as the scale increased due to landscape consistency. (4) The landscape metrics explained approximately 45.56–61.06% of the variations in ESs, and the main influencing factor was agricultural land. Our results demonstrated that the construction of rivers and channels, dense and widely distributed agricultural land and construction land were more positively correlated with increasing crop production and nitrogen export, whereas forestland exhibited a stronger contribution to increasing carbon storage and water yield. Business groups are industry exemplars whose investment decisions and social responsibility commitments are important for future sustainable development. We use data from China's listed firms from 2012 to 2018 to investigate the effects of ESG-related disclosure on corporate investment efficiency by comparing the heterogeneity in ESG-related disclosure between group-affiliated firms and standalone firms, as well as between member firms within groups at different pyramid levels. We find that (1) group-affiliated firms are more willing to disclose ESG information than independent ones, and compared with lower-level pyramid member firms, higher-level pyramid member firms have a higher propensity of ESG disclosure; (2) over-investment for group-affiliated firms and under-investment for higher-level pyramid member firms are all moderated by their higher propensity for ESG disclosure. That is, corporate disclosure of ESG information significantly promotes investment efficiency; (3) by grouping the sample firms according to analyst attention and industry external financing dependence, respectively, we find that the promotion effect of ESG disclosure on corporate investment efficiency is more significant when the firms are followed by fewer analysts, or when firms belong to industries with higher external financing dependence. In order to identify ecological relationships of participating countries in the transfer system of ecological capital embodied in global trade, this paper takes the international trade of China and its partners from 2002 to 2017 as a case, and uses the ecological footprint (EF) measured by the optimized product land-use matrix (PLUM) method to quantify ecological capital for the value of macro-ecological resources, then uses the ecological network analysis (ENA) method to construct a complete transfer network of trade-embodied ecological capital and uses a utility analysis to identify ecological relationships between trading countries. Our results show that: (1) Throughout the study period, competition relationships with 61% dominated in the network, and the countries that have a pair-wise competition relationship with China are mainly located in central and western Europe, northeastern Europe, North America, southern Asia and eastern Asia. (2) Indirect utility determines the dominant ecological relationship in system, and it mainly converts dominant ecological relationships from control to competition by transforming exploit into competition. (3) China is looking to creating a more mutually beneficial trading environment at the expense of its own interests. (4) A global crisis event is likely to result in the control of ecological capital in more countries, and in its aftermath, the world is likely to be in a highly competitive environment. Reducing ecological capital consumption by improving energy efficiency and optimizing the global trading environment into a trading system dominated by mutualism relationships can be effective ways for countries around the world to achieve sustainable development post-COVID-19 crisis. For the purpose of efficiency improvement, a linear motor that performs a linear reciprocating motion can be employed to directly drive the piston in a reciprocating refrigeration compressor without crankshaft mechanism. This also facilitates the modulation of cooling capacity as the stroke and frequency can be readily varied in response to heat load. A novel design of moving magnet linear motor for linear compressor was analyzed in the paper. A finite element analysis (FEA) model was built to simulate the characteristics of the linear motor. Current and displacement signals were measured from a test rig and were defined in the transient FEA model. Transient motor force was simulated with the FEA model and good agreements are shown between the results from the FEA model and interpolated shaft force from static force measurements. Major Losses, such as copper loss and core loss were also computed. Motor efficiency decreased from 0.88 to 0.83 as stroke increased from 9 mm to 12 mm, while the pressure ratio remained unchanged. Comparisons were made between the present moving magnet linear motor and moving coil linear motors. Generally, the moving magnet linear motor demonstrates higher efficiency than moving coil motors, which have significantly higher copper loss. Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is a potential mediator in the protection of plants from copper (Cu) toxicity and the enhancement of Cu tolerance. In this paper, spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) seedlings were cultivated in soil containing 700 mg kg−1 Cu and the leaves of seedlings were sprayed with different concentrations of IAA. Exogenous IAA treatment reduced the malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations in Cu-stressed seedlings and increased biomass, proline content, and the activities of antioxidant enzymes. Exogenous IAA treatment also increased the levels of nitrogen (N) assimilation compounds and the activities of N-metabolizing enzymes, but reduced NH4+ content. Notably, lower concentrations of IAA (10–40 mg L−1) increased the Cu concentrations in roots and reduced the Cu concentrations in leaves, while higher concentrations of IAA (50 mg L−1) reduced the Cu concentrations in both roots and leaves to the lowest levels. The findings indicated that the application of IAA reduced Cu accumulation, alleviated Cu toxicity, and enhanced Cu tolerance in spinach seedlings. IAA application could be used as an alternative strategy for reducing Cu accumulation in vegetable crops and for remediating Cu-contaminated soil, in turn reducing the hazardous effects of heavy metal contamination on human health and the environment. Increasing number of refrigeration units has led to an increase of CO2 emissions and the destruction of the ozone layer. Using low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, improving the efficiency of vapour compression refrigeration (VCR) units, and minimising refrigerant leakages can reduce the global warming effect. Investigating the refrigerant distribution under varied operating conditions can provide a deeper understanding of refrigerant charge optimization. This study proposed a model of refrigerant mass distribution in a prototype oil-free VCR system using a linear compressor with variable strokes and R134a. The absence of the oil lubricant allows the adoption of compact heat exchangers, such as micro-channels, so that the total refrigerant charge can be reduced significantly. The predicted total refrigerant charge has a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 3.7%. The simulation results indicate that refrigerant distributed in the condenser is most sensitive to operating conditions and total refrigerant charges. The refrigerant accumulated in the condenser is 6.8% higher at a total refrigerant charge of 0.33 kg than that of 0.22 kg. For a total refrigerant charge of 0.33 kg, 72.1% of the total refrigerant can accumulate in the condenser. At a fixed pressure ratio, the refrigerant as a two-phase form in the condenser decreases slightly with the increase of compressor strokes, resulting in a larger mass flow rate, thus cooling capacity.
