Hyperspectral satellite imagery has developed rapidly over the last decade because of its high spectral resolution and strong material recognition capability. Nonetheless, the spatial resolution of available hyperspectral imagery is inferior, severely affecting the accuracy of ground object identification. In the paper, we propose an adaptively optimized pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN) model to sharpen the spatial resolution of the hyperspectral imagery to the scale of the multispectral imagery. Firstly, a SAM-CC strategy is designed to assign hyperspectral bands to the multispectral bands. Subsequently, an improved PCNN (IPCNN) is proposed, which considers the differences of the neighboring neurons. Furthermore, the Chameleon Swarm Optimization (CSA) optimization is adopted to generate the optimum fusion parameters for IPCNN. Hence, the injected spatial details are acquired in the irregular regions generated by the IPCNN. Extensive experiments are carried out to validate the superiority of the proposed model, which confirms that our method can realize hyperspectral imagery with high spatial resolution, yielding the best spatial details and spectral information among the state-of-the-art approaches. A transfer–purge chamber (TPC) is a double-steel-plate, heavy-concrete, curved-surface composite structure composed of steel plates, heavy concrete, and shear connectors. It is an important facility in the external refueling system of a nuclear power plant (NPP), providing a safe and reliable biological shielding space for reactor refueling operations. Temperature load is one of the most important factors that must be considered in the design of NPP structures. The temperature loads experienced by the TPC during its life cycle include those encountered in both normal and abnormal operation, which are distinct. In this study, we investigated the steady state and transient-state temperature fields and stresses of a TPC structure under normal operation and after 48 h of abnormal operation, respectively, which were calculated using Abaqus finite element software and the directly coupled method. During normal operation, the temperature field of the structure shows relatively uniform changes, and the temperature gradient of the internal concrete in the direction of its thickness has a constant value of 0.245 °C/cm. At the junction between the transfer and purge sub-chambers of the TPC, under the influence of wall curvature and deformation constraints, the maximum tensile strain of heavy concrete is 8.84 × 10−3, the maximum compressive strain is 2.04 × 10−3, the peak stress of the steel plate is 98.305 MPa, and the peak stress of the stud is 306.725 MPa. After 48 h of abnormal operation, the temperatures of the inner surface of the heavy concrete of the wall, the inner steel plate of the wall, the outer surface of the heavy concrete of the wall, and the inner steel plate of the wall increased by 8.12, 8.11, 0.31, and 0.30 °C, respectively. The tensile strain of the heavy concrete of the wall increased significantly by 52.64%, and the compressive strain of the concrete increased by 67.33%, whereas the stresses of the studs and steel plates increased by only 1.57% and 6.79%, respectively. These results show that the change in the temperature field greatly influences the stress and strain on the TPC structure. As measures for mitigating the development of this unfavorable situation of temperature stress concentration, the temperature operating range should be rationally controlled or the junction structure between the transfer and purge sub-chambers of the TPC optimized accordingly. Heterogeneity, including the inhomogeneity of landscapes and surface variables, significantly affects the accuracy of evapotranspiration (ET) (or latent heat flux, LE) estimated from remote sensing satellite data. However, most of the current research uses statistical methods in the mixed pixel to correct the ET or LE estimation error, and there is a lack of research from the perspective of the remote sensing model. The method of using frequency distributions or generalized probability density functions (PDFs), which is called the "statistical-dynamical" approach to describe the heterogeneity of land surface characteristics, is a good way to solve the problem. However, in attempting to produce an efficient PDF-based parameterization of remotely sensed ET or LE, first and foremost, it is necessary to systematically understand the variables that are most consistent with the heterogeneity (i.e., variability for a fixed target area or landscape, where the variation in the surface parameter value is primarily concerned with the PDF-based model) of surface turbulence flux. However, the use of PDF alone does not facilitate direct comparisons of the spatial variability of surface variables. To address this issue, the objective of this study is to find an indicator based on PDF to express variability of surface variables. We select the dimensionless or dimensional consistent coefficient of variation (CV), Gini coefficient and entropy to express variability. Based on the analysis of simulated data and field experimental data, we find that entropy is more stable and accurate than the CV and Gini coefficient for expressing the variability of surface variables. In addition, the results of the three methods show that the variability of the leaf area index (LAI) is greater than that of the land surface temperature (LST). The transfer-purge chamber is an operation room for nuclear fuel transport and purging in a nuclear power plant, which has a demand for structural reliability and radiation protection. The transfer-purge chamber has features such as large curvature, heavy concrete, long overhang, and irregular cross-sections, and it is constructed of double steel plates reinforced concrete (SC) structure. This study performed shaking table tests for a 1:4.5 scale model of the transfer-purge chamber. Three sets of ground motions were input in the scale model in the horizontal and vertical directions to study its structural reliability and seismic performance. Acceleration response and strain response of the structure were analyzed to evaluate the dynamic characteristics of the transfer-purge chamber under the ground motion. The results show that the transfer-purge chamber has great stiffness and short periods. The periods slightly increase with the rise of intensity of seismic ground motions. Under the excitation of ground motions, the dynamic response of the transfer-purge chamber is slight. No obvious deformation or damage occurred on the transfer-purge chamber, and cracking in concrete or buckling on steel plate did not appear. Although the energy change field in the centrifugal pump has been investigated under quasi-steady conditions (QSC), equivalent information is not yet known during the rapid starting period (RSP). A centrifugal pump loop system is constructed to investigate the energy change field in the centrifugal pump during RSP. The RSP is selected as a linear rotational speed from 0 rev/min to 2900 rev/min (design rotational speed) and a constant valve opening of 0.569. Results show that the flow rate lags behind the pump head value with the linear increase in rotational speed. The large values of partial derivations of mechanical energy in normal and tangential components are mainly concentrated at the impeller outlet, whose position is insensitive to rotational speed. The region of dominant energy loss is negatively correlated with rotational speed, and an opposite phenomenon is observed in the region of dominant energy increase. With the rotational speed increasing, the mean energy gradient function in the pump impeller and pump volute gradually increases, and the slope of the former is less than that of the latter. In this paper, a deep learning long-short-term memory (LSTM) method is applied to the forecasting of the critical frequency of the ionosphere F2 layer (foF2). Hourly values of foF2 from 10 ionospheric stations in China and Australia (based on availability) from 2006 to 2019 are used for training and verifying. While 2015 and 2019 are exclusive for verifying the forecasting accuracy. The inputs of the LSTM model are sequential data for the previous values, which include local time (LT), day number, solar zenith angle, the sunspot number (SSN), the daily F10.7 solar flux, geomagnetic the Ap and Kp indices, geographic coordinates, neutral winds, and the observed value of foF2 at the previous moment. To evaluate the forecasting ability of the deep learning LSTM model, two different neural network forecasting models: a back-propagation neural network (BPNN) and a genetic algorithm optimized backpropagation neural network (GABP) were established for comparative analysis. The foF2 parameters were forecasted under geomagnetic quiet and geomagnetic disturbed conditions during solar activity maximum (2015) and minimum (2019), respectively. The forecasting results of these models are compared with those of the international reference ionosphere model (IRI2016) and the measurements. The diurnal and seasonal variations of foF2 for the 4 models were compared and analyzed from 8 selected verification stations. The forecasting results reveal that the deep learning LSTM model presents the optimal performance of all models in forecasting the time series of foF2, while the IRI2016 model has the poorest forecasting performance, and the BPNN model and GABP model are between two of them. In order to solve the shortcomings of the traditional curing agent in the treatment of composite heavy-metal-contaminated soil with the solidification and stabilization method, a new type of cementing material A was used as a curing agent, and the Pb, Cd, Cu composite heavy-metal-contaminated soil was artificially prepared to carry out an experimental study on solidification and stabilization (SS) restoration by the mechanical properties test, leaching performance test, and microscopic test. The results show that in the range of test dosage, with the increase in the curing agent content, the unconfined compressive strength of the solidified body increased, and the resistance to deformation was enhanced. From the perspective of leaching characteristics, the new curing agent A had an excellent curing effect on the composite heavy-metal-contaminated soil. To achieve safe disposal, a curing agent content of 10% applies only for the soil heavily contaminated by heavy metals. The curing agent A could significantly reduce the content of acid-extractable heavy metals after solidifying the heavy metal Pb, Cd, and Cu composite contaminated soil and effectively converted it into a residue state. The solidified phase contained hydrated products such as calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) and ettringite (AFt). These hydrated products can inhibit the leaching performance of heavy metal ions through adsorption, encapsulation, and ion exchange. An expansive polystyrene granule cement (EPSC) latticed concrete wall with diagonal bracing is formed with a traditional EPSC latticed concrete wall skeleton with added diagonal bracing. It is a new model of non-demolding wall integrating insulation and structure. For the new model, the length of one EPSC panel is 1200 mm, which is 300 mm longer than that of the traditional one. The diagonal bracing is arranged in a 45° orthogonal grid in the new model. In contrast, the traditional type has only horizontal lattice beams and vertical lattice columns. Through the pseudo-static test of two new EPSC latticed concrete wall specimens with diagonal bracing and two traditional EPSC latticed concrete wall specimens, the seismic performance of latticed concrete walls was investigated in this study. The main difference between the specimens was the lattice form and the core hole diameter. Finite element simulation was carried out on the simplified models of a latticed concrete wall with diagonal bracing. The results showed that EPSC could work with post-poured concrete to withstand earthquake action together. Additionally, the lateral performance of the EPSC latticed concrete wall with diagonal bracing was significantly improved compared with the traditional type, and the overall seismic performance was improved, especially the energy dissipation capacity, which increased by more than 180%. The bearing capacity increased by more than 12%, when the amount of concrete was basically the same. The initial stiffness was improved by more than 52%. As the diameter of the core hole increased 20 mm, the bearing capacity improved more than 12%. Simplified modeling methods could be used to analyze the seismic performance of latticed concrete walls under lateral cyclic loading. The study reveals the seismic performance characteristics of latticed composite walls with different lattice forms and core hole diameters, and it provides technical support for the engineering application of different lattice forms and core hole diameter latticed composite walls. This paper presents the results for the operating energy performance of the smart operation for a low carbon energy region (SOLCER) house. The house design is based on a 'systems' approach, which integrates the building technologies for electrical and thermal energy systems, together with the architectural design. It is based on the concept of 'energy positive' buildings, utilising renewable energy systems which form part of the building envelope construction. The paper describes how the building energy model HTB2, with a range of additional 'plugins', has been used to simulate specific elements of the design and the overall energy performance of the house. Measurement data have been used in combination with the energy simulation results to evaluate the performance of the building together with its systems, and identifying the energy performance of individual components of the building. The study has indicated that an energy-positive performance can be achieved through an integrative systems approach. The analysis has indicated that the house, under normal occupancy, needs to import about 26% of its energy from the grid, but over the year its potential export to import ratio can reach 1.3:1. The paper discusses the performance gap between design and operation. It also considers the contribution of a transpired solar air collector (TSC) to space heating. Pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN) and its modified models are suitable for dealing with multi-focus and medical image fusion tasks. Unfortunately, PCNNs are difficult to directly apply to multispectral image fusion, especially when the spectral fidelity is considered. A key problem is that most fusion methods using PCNNs usually focus on the selection mechanism either in the space domain or in the transform domain, rather than a details injection mechanism, which is of utmost importance in multispectral image fusion. Thus, a novel pansharpening PCNN model for multispectral image fusion is proposed. The new model is designed to acquire the spectral fidelity in terms of human visual perception for the fusion tasks. The Lin28B gene is involved in the initiation of puberty, but its regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to study the regulatory mechanism of the Lin28B promoter by cloning the Lin28B proximal promoter for bioinformatic analysis. Next, a series of deletion vectors were constructed based on the bioinformatic analysis results for dual-fluorescein activity detection. The transcriptional regulation mechanism of the Lin28B promoter region was analyzed by detecting mutations in transcription factor-binding sites and overexpression of transcription factors. The dual-luciferase assay showed that the Lin28B promoter region −837 to −338 bp had the highest transcriptional activity, and the transcriptional activity of the Lin28B transcriptional regulatory region decreased significantly after Egr1 and SP1 mutations. Overexpression of the Egr1 transcription factor significantly enhanced the transcription of Lin28B, and the results indicated that Egr1 and SP1 play important roles in regulating Lin28B. The energy loss inside a centrifugal pump has a significant effect on its performance characteristics. Based on the structural characteristics of the humpback pectoral fin, a new tongue was designed to improve the performance of the centrifugal pump. The influence of three sinusoidal tubercle volute tongues (STVT) and one original volute tongue (OVT) on energy dissipation using the enstrophy analysis method was investigated. To accomplish this, the pressure fluctuations and performances of four centrifugal pumps were analyzed. The results indicate that enstrophy is primarily distributed at the impeller outlet and near the tongue. The total enstrophy of the profiles of STVT was smaller than that of the profiles of OVT. This difference was more obvious near the tongue. The reductions in the total enstrophy of the pumps were 8% (STVT−1), 8.2% (STVT−2), and 9% (STVT−3). The pressure fluctuations of the STVT profiles also decreased to different degrees. The average pressure fluctuations at the monitoring points decreased by 20.6% (STVT−1), 21.7% (STVT−2), and 23.3% (STVT−3). The performances of the bionic retrofit pumps increased by 1.5% (STVT−1), 2% (STVT−2), and 2.45% (STVT−3) under the design flow rate. This study guides the structural optimization of pumps. The traditional herb Eleutherococcus henryi Oliv. is commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions including rheumatism, arthritis, and hepatitis, as well as mental fatigue and amnesia, according to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory. Savinin is a natural lignan obtained from the roots of E. henryi. The present study was undertaken to determine whether savinin can relieve LPS-induced neuroinflammation and if so, what the mechanism is. Groups of male C57BL/6 mice were administered savinin (5, 10, 20 mg/kg) and DEX (10 mg/kg) by gavage once daily for a continuous 7 days. On the 5th day of continuous pre-administration, LPS (2.5 mg/kg) was injected into the lateral ventricles of the mice for modeling 48 h. We found that treatment with savinin decreased the levels of neuroinflammatory cytokines and histopathological alterations dramatically. Consequently, it improved the LPS-induced neuroinflammatory response in mice. Furthermore, savinin inhibited the up-regulated expression of related proteins in the activated MAPK/NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathways caused by LPS. Docking studies demonstrated the binding of savinin to three receptors (MAPK, NF-κB and NLRP3) using a well-fitting mode. These findings suggest that savinin may suppress neuroinflammation induced by LPS in vivo via modulating MAPK/NF-κB and NLRP3 signaling pathways. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coal gasification coarse slag (CGCS) is a by-product of coal gasification. Despite its abundance, CGCS is mostly used in boiler blending, stacking, and landfill. Large-scale industrial applications of CGCS can be environment-friendly and cost saving. In this study, the application of CGCS as a substitute for river sand (RS) with different replacement ratios in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) was investigated. The effects of CGCS replacement ratios on the fluidity and mechanical properties of specimens were examined, and the effect mechanisms were explored on the basis of hydration products and the multi-scale (millimetre-scale and micrometre-scale) microstructure analysis obtained through X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray energy-dispersive spectroscopy. With an increase in the CGCS replacement ratio, the water–binder ratio (w/b), flexural strength, and compressive strength decreased. Specimens containing CGCS of ≤25% can satisfy the strength requirement of non-structural UHPC, with flexure strength of 29 MPa and compressive strength of 111 MPa at day 28. According to the XRD results and multi-scale microstructure analysis, amorphous glass beads in CGCS positively influenced ettringite generation due to the pozzolanic activity. Porous carbon particles in CGCS showed strong interfacial bonding with cement slurry due to internal hydration; this bonding was conducive to improving the mechanical strength. However, CGCS hindered hydration in the later curing stage, leading to an increase in the unreacted cement and agglomeration of fly ash; in addition, at a CGCS replacement ratio of up to 50%, an apparent interfacial transition zone structure was observed, which was the main contributor to mechanical strength deterioration. Vegetation optical depth (VOD), as a microwave-based estimate of vegetation water and biomass content, is increasingly used to study the impact of global climate and environmental changes on vegetation. However, current global operational VOD products have a coarse spatial resolution (~25 km), which limits their use for agriculture management and vegetation dynamics monitoring at regional scales (1–5 km). This study aims to retrieve high-resolution VOD from the C-band Sentinel-1 backscatter data over a grassland of the Heihe River Basin in northwestern China. The proposed approach used an analytical solution of a simplified Water Cloud Model (WCM), constrained by given soil moisture estimates, to invert VOD over grassland with 1 km spatial resolution during the 2018–2020 period. Our results showed that the VOD estimates exhibited large spatial variability and strong seasonal variations. Furthermore, the dynamics of VOD estimates agreed well with optical vegetation indices, i.e., the mean temporal correlations with normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and leaf area index (LAI) were 0.76, 0.75, and 0.75, respectively, suggesting that the VOD retrievals could precisely capture the dynamics of grassland. Simple Summary: Fecundity is an important economic trait of sheep that directly affects their economic and productive efficiency. Our study aimed to identify single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) loci associated with sheep puberty or litter size which could be used in future breeding programs to improve fertility. We obtained one SNP on GNAQ gene (NC_040253.1: g.62677376G > A), which was associated with litter size in Cele Black sheep. Perhaps this SNP could be a criterion to screen polytocous sheep. Fecundity is an important economic trait in sheep that directly affects their economic and productive efficiency. Our study aimed to identify SNP loci associated with sheep puberty or litter size which could be used in future breeding programs to improve fertility. Genomic DNA was obtained from Hetian and Cele Black sheep breeds and used for reduced-representation genome sequencing to identify SNP loci associated with pubertal initiation and litter size. Selective signatures analysis was performed based on the fixation index and nucleotide diversity, followed by pathway analysis of the genes contained in the selected regions. The selected SNP loci in the genes associated with pubertal initiation and litter size were validated using both sheep breeds. In total, 384,718 high quality SNPs were obtained and 376 genes were selected. Functional annotation of genes and enrichment analysis identified 12 genes associated with pubertal initiation and 11 genes associated with litter size. SNP locus validation showed that two SNP on PAK1 and four on ADCY1 may be associated with pubertal initiation, and one SNP on GNAQ gene (NC_040253.1: g.62677376G > A) was associated with litter size in Cele Black sheep. Large-section special-shaped shield tunnels feature many advantages, such as versatility and a large space utilization rate in energy transmission and public transport; however, guaranteeing the quality of segments' assembly is difficult. Based on the quasi-rectangular shield tunnel project of Hangzhou Line 9 in China, this study investigated the formation mechanism and control measures of lining segment assembly defects. By quantifying the manufacturing error and positioning error, a simulation program for segment assembly is developed to calculate the error. Furthermore, considering the relative accumulative error between the upper and lower T blocks, the finite element model of key blocks (T-LZ block) is established to perform mechanical analysis, based on which the relative error control standard of the key block under the corresponding working conditions is proposed. The results show that the assembly quality can be effectively improved by assembling the LZ block first and applying corresponding error control measures, and the displacement of the segment along the rZ direction should be carefully controlled during the construction. The error caused by normal assembly will not damage the LZ block, and the corresponding control standard under the action of multi-degree-of-freedom error (extreme case) is 9.8 mm. Vegetation is a key element in the energy, water and carbon balances over the land surfaces and is strongly impacted by climate change and anthropogenic effects. Remotely sensed observations are commonly used for the monitoring of vegetation dynamics and its temporal changes from regional to global scales. Among the different indices derived from Earth observation satellites to study the vegetation, the vegetation optical depth (VOD), which is related to the intensity of extinction effects within the vegetation canopy layer in the microwave domain and which can be derived from both passive and active microwave observations, is increasingly used for monitoring a wide range of ecological vegetation variables. Based on different frequency bands used to derive VOD, from L- to Ka-bands, these variables include, among others, the vegetation water content/status and the above ground biomass. In this review, the theoretical bases of VOD estimates for both the passive and active microwave domains are presented and the global long-term VOD products computed from various groups in the world are described. Then, major findings obtained using VOD are reviewed and the perspectives offered by methodological improvements and by new sensors onboard satellite missions recently launched or to be launched in a close future are presented. Grafting has been widely used to improve plant growth and tolerance in crop production, as well as for clarifying systemic mRNA signaling from donor to recipient tissues in organ-to-organ communication. In this study, we investigated graft partner interaction mechanisms of Cucumis sativus (Csa) and Cucurbita moschata (Cmo) using a large-scale endogenous mRNA transport. The results indicated that most mobile transcripts followed an allocation pathway from source to sink. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that mRNA mobility functions are universally common and individually specific. Identification of mRNA mobility between distant tissues in heterografts with RT-PCR (reverse transcription PCR), RT-qPCR (reverse transcriptional quantitative real time PCR), and clone sequencing were used to estimate 78.75% of selected mobile transcripts. Integration of bioinformatic analysis and RT-qPCR identification allowed us to hypothesize a scion-to-rootstock-to-scion feedback signal loop of Csa move-down and Cmo move-up mRNAs, where Csa scion move-down mRNAs were involved in carbon fixation and biosynthesis of amino acid pathways, and Cmo root received Csa move-down mRNA and then delivered the corresponding Cmo upward mRNA to scion to improve photosynthesis of cucumber scion. This formed a feedback signal loop of scion-to-rootstock-to scion to explain why pumpkin rootstock enhanced cucumber production in the industry, which was utilized for organ communication and mediates photosynthesis processes in heterograft cucurbit crops. A comprehensive evaluation of the performance of satellite-based soil moisture (SM) retrievals is undoubtedly very important to improve its quality and evaluate its potential application in hydrology, climate, and natural disasters (drought, flood, etc.). Since the release of the SMAP (Soil Moisture Active Passive) mission data in April 2015, the associated SM retrieval algorithms have developed rapidly, and their improvement work is still in progress. However, some newly developed SM retrievals have not been fully assessed and inter-compared. One such product is the new multi-temporal dual-channel retrieval algorithm (MT-DCA) SM retrievals, which was recently retrieved using the so-called MT-DCA algorithm. To solve this, we aim to assess the MT-DCA SM retrievals along with the SMAP-enhanced level three SM products (SPL3SMP_E, version 2). More specifically, in this paper we evaluated and inter-compared the two SMAP SM retrievals with the ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) modeled SM and ISMN (International Soil Moisture Network) in situ observations by applying four statistical scores: Pearson correlation coefficient (R), root mean square difference (RMSD), bias, and unbiased RMSD (ubRMSD). It was found that both SMAP SM retrievals can better capture the seasonal variations of ECMWF-modeled SM and ground-based measurements according to correlations, and MT-DCA SM was drier than SPL3SMP_E SM by ~0.018 m3/m3 on average on a global scale. With respect to the ISMN ground-based measurements, the performance of SPL3SMP_E SM compared better than the MT-DCA SM. Coal gangue (CG) represents a huge amount of industrial solid waste in China, and usually is used as a coarse aggregate to produce low-strength coal-gangue-based concrete. In this paper, in order to prove the possibility to obtain a higher-strength concrete with a higher CG utilization rate, reactive powder concrete (RPC) with coal gangue as a sand replacement at different replacement ratios was studied. RPC samples were prepared by replacing natural river sand (RS) with CG sand at different CG/RS weight ratios from 0–100% at intervals of 25%. Mechanical tests were carried out, and the microstructure features of RPC samples at 28 days were characterized. The test results showed that strong back shrinkage of strength existed. On days 7 and 14, the flexural strengths of samples with CG/RS replacement ratios of 0–75% fluctuated around the mean value. Strengths of samples with a CG/RS replacement ratio of 100% dropped off. However, on day 28, the flexural strengths of samples with CG were all lower than the strengths of samples on days 7 and 14. The flexural strengths and compressive strengths of the RPC with a CG/RS replacement ratio of 100% on day 14 were 14.09 MPa and 37.03 MPa, respectively, which decreased to 6.42 MPa and 28.44 MPa, respectively, on day 28. Compared with natural river sand, CG sand reduced the working performance, compressive strength, and flexural strength of RPC. Microscopic analysis showed that on day 28, increasing the CG replacement ratio could inhibit cement hydration, weaken the interface transition zone, and lead to the degradation of the RPC's performance. With the development of industrial civilization, advanced manufacturing technology has attracted widespread concern, including in the aerospace industry. In this paper, we report the applications of ultra-thin atomic layer deposition nanofilm in the advanced aerospace manufacturing industry, including aluminum anti-oxidation and secondary electron suppression, which are critical in high-power and miniaturization development. The compact and uniform aluminum oxide film, which is formed by thermal atomic layer deposition (ALD), can prevent the deep surface oxidation of aluminum during storage, avoiding the waste of material and energy in repetitive production. The total secondary electron yield of the C/TiN component nanofilm, deposited through plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition, decreases 25% compared with an uncoated surface. The suppression of secondary electron emission is of great importance in solving the multipactor for high-power microwave components in space. Moreover, the controllable, ultra-thin uniform composite nanofilm can be deposited directly on the complex surface of devices without any transfer process, which is critical for many different applications. In order to explore the fractal characteristics of particle size distribution (PSD) of various minerals in loess and lime-treated loess, the Q4 undisturbed loess and lime-treated loess were studied. From the perspective of multi-scaled microstructure, the internal characteristics of loess were observed and the regularity statistics were carried out from a macroscopic view. Fractal theory was used to quantitatively study the distribution of mineral particles in undisturbed loess and lime-treated loess. It was found that the skeleton particles of undisturbed loess were obvious and the structure of soil was loose. While that of lime-treated loess decreased, the fine particles were connected with each other, and the structure of soil changed from loose to dense. The three mineral particles in the undisturbed loess and lime-treated loess did not accord with the single fractal distribution characteristics, but the total particles had fractal characteristics. The percentage content of the mineral particles in the soil varied greatly with the particle size. In addition, the non-uniform degrees of mineral particles in the two soils from large to small were carbonate minerals of lime-treated loess, carbonate minerals of undisturbed loess, quartz minerals of lime-treated loess, feldspar mineral of lime-treated loess, feldspar mineral of the undisturbed loess, and the quartz mineral of the undisturbed loess. Although most of deep-learning-based hyperspectral image (HSI) classification methods achieve great performance, there still remains a challenge to utilize small-size training samples to remarkably enhance the classification accuracy. To tackle this challenge, a novel two-branch spectral–spatial-feature attention network (TSSFAN) for HSI classification is proposed in this paper. Firstly, two inputs with different spectral dimensions and spatial sizes are constructed, which can not only reduce the redundancy of the original dataset but also accurately explore the spectral and spatial features. Then, we design two parallel 3DCNN branches with attention modules, in which one focuses on extracting spectral features and adaptively learning the more discriminative spectral channels, and the other focuses on exploring spatial features and adaptively learning the more discriminative spatial structures. Next, the feature attention module is constructed to automatically adjust the weights of different features based on their contributions for classification to remarkably improve the classification performance. Finally, we design the hybrid architecture of 3D–2DCNN to acquire the final classification result, which can significantly decrease the sophistication of the network. An ultra-compact broadband silicon polarizing beam splitter is proposed based on a tilted nano-grating structure. A light cross coupling can be realized for transverse-magnetic mode, while the transverse-electric light can almost completely output from the through port. The length of the coupling region is only 6.8 μm, while an extinction ratio of 23.76 dB can be realized at a wavelength of 1550 nm. As a proof of concept, the device was fabricated by a commercial silicon photonic foundry. It can realize a 19.84 dB extinction ratio and an 80 nm working bandwidth with an extinction ratio of larger than 10 dB. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is one of the most important cucurbit vegetables but is often subjected to stress during cultivation. GRAS (gibberellic acid insensitive, repressor of GAI, and scarecrow) genes encode a family of transcriptional factors that regulate plant growth and development. In the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, GRAS family genes function in formation of axillary meristem and root radial structure, phytohormone (gibberellin) signal transduction, light signal transduction and abiotic/biological stress. In this study, a gene family was comprehensively analyzed from the aspects of evolutionary tree, gene structure, chromosome location, evolutionary and expression pattern by means of bioinformatics; 37 GRAS gene family members have been screened from cucumber. We reconstructed an evolutionary tree based on multiple sequence alignment of the typical GRAS domain and conserved motif sequences with those of other species (A. thaliana and Solanum lycopersicum). Cucumber GRAS family was divided into 10 groups according to the classification of Arabidopsis and tomato genes. We conclude that tandem and segmental duplication have played important roles in the expansion and evolution of the cucumber GRAS (CsaGRAS) family. Expression patterns of CsaGRAS genes in different tissues and under cold treatment, combined with gene ontology annotation and interaction network analysis, revealed potentially different functions for CsaGRAS genes in response to cold tolerance, with members of the SHR, SCR and DELLA subfamilies likely playing important roles. Hydro-agricultural applications often require surface soil moisture (SM) information at high spatial resolutions. In this study, daily spatial patterns of SM at a spatial resolution of 1 km over the Babao River Basin in northwestern China were mapped using a Bayesian-based upscaling algorithm, which upscaled point-scale measurements to the grid-scale (1 km) by retrieving SM information using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)-derived land surface temperature (LST) and topography data (including aspect and elevation data) and in situ measurements from a wireless sensor network (WSN). First, the time series of pixel-scale (1 km) representative SM information was retrieved from in situ measurements of SM, topography data, and LST. Second, Bayesian linear regression was used to calibrate the relationship between the representative SM and the WSN measurements. Last, the calibrated relationship was used to upscale a network of in situ measured SM to map spatially continuous SM at a high resolution. The upscaled SM data were evaluated against ground-based SM measurements with satisfactory accuracy—the overall correlation coefficient (r), slope, and unbiased root mean square difference (ubRMSD) values were 0.82, 0.61, and 0.025 m3/m3, respectively. Moreover, when accounting for topography, the proposed upscaling algorithm outperformed the algorithm based only on SM derived from LST (r = 0.80, slope = 0.31, and ubRMSD = 0.033 m3/m3). Notably, the proposed upscaling algorithm was able to capture the dynamics of SM under extreme dry and wet conditions. Points on maps that stand for geographic objects such as settlements are generally connected by road networks. However, in the existing algorithms for point cluster simplification, points are usually viewed as discrete objects or their distances are considered in Euclidean spaces, and therefore the point cluster generalization results obtained by these algorithms are sometimes unreasonable. To take roads into consideration so that point clusters can be simplified in appropriate ways, the network Voronoi diagram is used and a new algorithm is proposed in this paper. First, the weighted network Voronoi diagram is constructed taking into account the weights of the points and the properties of the related road segments. Second, the network Voronoi polygons are generated and two factors (i.e., the area of the network Voronoi polygon and the total length of the dilated road segments in the polygon) are considered as the basis for point simplification. Last, a Cartesian coordinate system is built based on the two factors and the point clusters are simplified by means of the "concentric quadrants". Our experiments show that the algorithm can effectively and correctly transmit types of information in the process of point cluster simplification, and the results are more reasonable than that generated by the ordinary Voronoi-based algorithm and the weighted Voronoi-based algorithm.
