In order to increase the utilization rate of stainless steel slag, reduce storage needs, and mitigate environmental impacts, this study replaces a portion of limestone with varying amounts of stainless steel slag in the calcination of Portland cement clinker. The study primarily examines the influence of stainless steel slag on the phase composition, microstructure, compressive strength, and free calcium oxide (ƒ-CaO) content of Portland cement clinker. The results show the following: (1) Using stainless steel slag to calcine Portland cement clinker can lower the calcination temperature, reducing industrial production costs and energy consumption. (2) With an increase in the amount of stainless steel slag, the dicalcium silicate (C2S) and tricalcium silicate (C3S) phases in Portland cement clinker initially increase and then decrease; the C3S crystals gradually transform into continuous hexagonal plate-shaped distributions, while the tricalcium aluminate (C3A) and tetracalcium aluminoferrite (C4AF) crystal structures become denser. When the stainless steel slag content is 15%, the dicalcium silicate and tricalcium silicate phases are at their peak; the C3S crystals are continuously distributed with a relatively dense structure, and C3A and C4AF crystals melt and sinter together, becoming distributed around C3S. (3) As stainless steel slag content increases, the compressive strength of Portland cement clinker at 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days increases and then decreases, while ƒ-CaO content decreases and then increases. When the stainless steel slag content is 15%, the compressive strength at 28 days is at its highest, 64.4 MPa, with the lowest ƒ-CaO content, 0.78%. Effective vehicle detection plays a crucial role in various applications in cities, including traffic management, urban planning, vehicle transport, and surveillance systems. However, existing vehicle detection methods suffer from low recognition accuracy, high computational costs, and excessive parameters. To address these challenges, this paper proposed a high-precision and lightweight detector along with a new dataset for construction-related vehicles. The dataset comprises 8425 images across 13 different categories of vehicles. The detector was based on a modified version of the You Only Look Once (YOLOv4) algorithm. DenseNet was utilized as the backbone to optimize feature transmission and reuse, thereby improving detection accuracy and reducing computational costs. Additionally, the detector employed depth-wise separable convolutions to optimize the model structure, specifically focusing on the lightweight neck and head components. Furthermore, H-swish was used to enhance non-linear feature extraction. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed detector achieves a mean average precision (mAP) of 96.95% on the provided dataset, signifying a 4.03% improvement over the original YOLOv4. The computational cost and parameter count of the detector were 26.09GFLops and 16.08 MB, respectively. Simple Summary: Many obligate endosymbionts colonize an invertebrate host and are directly transferred maternally to the host's embryo. Consequently, the symbiotic bacteria from diverse host species evolve independently, reflecting the host's phylogeny. Whiteflies, which consist of thousands of species, harbor obligate endosymbionts of the Portiera genus. The divergence status of these bacteria, after a long history of coevolution with their hosts, remains ambiguous. In the present study, we aim to unravel the divergence of obligate endosymbionts from different whitefly species through genome comparison. Our findings indicate that these endosymbionts have diverged into at least three disparate genetic groups. Such findings underscore the divergence of whitefly obligate endosymbionts and provide a cue for investigation into the co-divergence between obligate endosymbionts and their hosts. Maternally inherited obligate endosymbionts codiverge with their invertebrate hosts and reflect their host's evolutionary history. Whiteflies (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) harbor one obligate endosymbiont, Candidatus Portiera aleyrodidarum (hereafter Portiera). Portiera was anciently acquired by whitefly and has been coevolving with its host ever since. Uncovering the divergence of endosymbionts provides a fundamental basis for inspecting the coevolutionary processes between the bacteria and their hosts. To illustrate the divergence of Portiera lineages across different whitefly species, we sequenced the Portiera genome from Aleyrodes shizuokensis and conducted a comparative analysis on the basic features and gene evolution with bacterial genomes from five whitefly genera, namely Aleurodicus, Aleyrodes, Bemisia, Pealius, and Trialeurodes. The results indicated that Portiera from Bemisia possessed significantly larger genomes, fewer coding sequences (CDSs), and a lower coding density. Their gene arrangement differed notably from those of other genera. The phylogeny of the nine Portiera lineages resembled that of their hosts. Moreover, the lineages were classified into three distinct genetic groups based on the genetic distance, one from Aleurodicus (Aleurodicinae), one from Bemisia (Aleyrodinae), and another from Aleyrodes, Pealius, and Trialeurrodes (Aleyrodinae). Synonymous and nonsynonymous rate analyses, parity rule 2 plot analyses, neutrality plot analyses, and effective number of codons analyses supported the distinction of the three genetic groups. Our results indicated that Portiera from distant hosts exhibit distinct genomic contents, implying codivergence between hosts and their endosymbionts. Trichoderma hamatum is a filamentous fungus that serves as a biological control agent for multiple phytopathogens and as an important resource promising for fungicides. However, the lack of adequate knockout technologies has hindered gene function and biocontrol mechanism research of this species. This study obtained a genome assembly of T. hamatum T21, with a 41.4 Mb genome sequence comprising 8170 genes. Based on genomic information, we established a CRISPR/Cas9 system with dual sgRNAs targets and dual screening markers. CRISPR/Cas9 plasmid and donor DNA recombinant plasmid were constructed for disruption of the Thpyr4 and Thpks1 genes. The result indicates the consistency between phenotypic characterization and molecular identification of the knockout strains. The knockout efficiencies of Thpyr4 and Thpks1 were 100% and 89.1%, respectively. Moreover, sequencing revealed fragment deletions between dual sgRNA target sites or GFP gene insertions presented in knockout strains. The situations were caused by different DNA repair mechanisms, nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ), and homologous recombination (HR). Overall, we have successfully constructed an efficient and convenient CRISPR/Cas9 system in T. hamatum for the first time, which has important scientific significance and application value for studies on functional genomics of Trichoderma and other filamentous fungi. Plant chitinases (EC 3.2.1.14) are pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins and are well studied in many plant species. However, little is known about the genomic organization and expression of chitinase genes in strawberries (Fragaria vesca). Here, 23 FvChi genes were identified in the genome of strawberry (F. vesca) and divided into GH18 and GH19 subfamilies based on phylogenetic relationships. A detailed bioinformatics analysis of the FvChi genes was performed, including gene physicochemical properties, chromosomal location, exon–intron distribution, domain arrangement, and subcellular localization. Twenty-two FvChi genes showed upregulation after Colletotrichum gloeosporioides infection. Following the exogenous application of SA, FvChi-3, 4, and 5 showed significant changes in expression. The ectopic expression of FvChi-14 in Arabidopsis thaliana increased resistance to C. higginsianum via controlling the SA and JA signaling pathway genes (AtPR1, AtICS1, AtPDF1.2, and AtLOX3). The FvChi-14 protein location was predicted in the cell wall or extracellular matrix. We speculate that FvChi-14 is involved in disease resistance by regulating the SA and JA signaling pathways. In China, dezocine is commonly employed as a partial agonist of mu/kappa opioid receptors during anesthesia induction for surgical patients, yet evidence supporting its causal association with emergence delirium is limited. The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the impact of intravenous dezocine administered during anesthesia induction on emergence delirium. The retrospective studied existing data containing medical records of patients undergoing an elective laparoscopy procedure and the study was conducted with ethics-board approval. The primary outcome was the incidence of emergence delirium. Secondary outcomes included the VAS in the PACU and 24 h after surgery, the RASS score in the PACU, postoperative MMSE, hospital stay, and ICU stay. A total of 681 patients were analyzed, after being propensity score-matched, the dezocine and non-dezocine group each had 245 patients. Emergence delirium occurred in 26/245 (10.6%) of patients who received dezocine and 41/245 (16.7%) of patients did not receive dezocine. Patients on whom dezocine was used were associated with a significantly lower incidence of emergence delirium (absolute risk difference, −6.1%, 95% CI, −12% to −0.2%; relative risk [RR], 0.63; 95% CI, 0.18–0.74). All secondary outcome measures and adverse outcomes were not significantly different. Background: Hydrogen has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and is beneficial to multiple organs. However, its effect on alveolar macrophage (AM) pyroptosis induced by burns is still unclear. The purpose of this research was to study the possible positive effects of hydrogen on burn-induced lung injury and the effects of hydrogen on AM pyroptosis during acute lung injury (ALI) induced by burns. Methods: In this study, histological changes in rat lungs in vivo were evaluated by micro-CT, and histological changes in isolated lungs were evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. The expressions of leucine rich repeat (LRR) and pyrin domain (PYD) containing protein 3 (NLRP3), caspase-1 and Gasdermin-D (GSDMD) were analyzed by Western blotting. The expression of GSDMD was measured by immunofluorescence to evaluate the levels of lung inflammation and pyroptosis. The level of inflammation was assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Pyroptosis was observed by transmission electron microscopy. Results: We observed that severe burn resulted in increased IL-1β and IL-18, overexpression of NLRP3 and caspase-1 proteins, and pyroptosis in rat lung tissues, as demonstrated by GSDMD overexpression and electron microscopy of AMs. We also observed that hydrogen treatment partially reversed the increase in lung tissue density and reduced pulmonary inflammation. Moreover, hydrogen reduced the HE pathological injury score in the lung tissues of severely burned rats. Hydrogen treatment significantly reduced the contents of IL-1β and IL-18 in the lung tissues and decreased the expression of NLRP3, caspase-1 and GSDMD proteins compared with the burn group. Transmission electron microscopy results also showed that the number of AM membrane pores was significantly reduced in the hydrogen treatment group. The world's two largest economies, the United States and China, have fundamentally different cultural beliefs about learning. Thus, when examining Chinese learners, Western researchers were confused by the contrasting phenomenon between seemingly poor learning approaches and high academic achievement, i.e., the Paradox of Chinese Learners. In addressing this paradox, Jin Li offered a theoretical framework of the Chinese virtue model versus the European–American mind model to comprehensively understand the differences in students' learning beliefs and academic achievement between the two cultures. However, Li does not pay attention to global cultural exchange or directly link learning beliefs to academic achievement. Therefore, this paper presents two empirical studies addressing these research gaps. Study 1 adopted both qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate the learning beliefs of Chinese and European–American university students, and revealed that deepening cultural exchange narrowed the gap between the two models (Study 1a), but the impact of the virtue model on European–American students was weaker than that of the mind model on Chinese students (Study 1b). Study 2 further revealed that both models were beneficial for Chinese students' academic achievement, whereas only the virtue model benefited European–American students. Pipeline magnetic flux leakage (MFL) internal detection technology is the most widely used and effective method in the field of long-distance oil and gas pipeline online detection. With the improvement of data quantization precision, the influence of stress on MFL signal has been paid more and more attention. In this paper, the relationship between stress and saturation magnetization is introduced based on J-A theory. The analytical model of MFL detection signal for pipeline composite defects is established. The MFL signal characteristics of composite defects are quantitatively calculated. The effect of stress on MFL signal is studied. The theoretical analysis is verified by experimental data and excavation results. The researches show that the saturation magnetization of ferromagnets decreases exponentially with the increase of stress in strong magnetic field. The MFL signal of composite defect is weaker than that of volumetric defects of the same dimension. The axial amplitude and radial peak-to-peak value of MFL signal decrease with the increase of stress around the defect. The axial amplitude and radial peak-to-peak value of MFL signal increase non-linearly with the increase of width and depth of defects. When using MFL signal to judge the defect depth, it is necessary to make clear whether there is stress concentration phenomenon around the defect because the stress will lead to underestimation of the defect depth. In order to solve the shortcomings of the traditional explosion welding method for direct magnesia-aluminum alloy and steel welding, a processing method of groove hot casting plus explosion compression bonding (HCECB) was put forward, and the related theory of hot-melt metal plus explosion bonding was also proposed. Taking 6061 aluminum and Q235a steel as examples, the hot casting plus explosion compression test was carried out by the prefabrication of a dovetail groove on Q235a steel plate and the microstructure and mechanical properties of the interface were analyzed. The results showed that the 6061 aluminum/Q235a steel can be directly combined by the HCECB method. The interface is mainly irregularly microwave-shaped and straight-shaped with no defects, such as melting layer, holes and cracks, found. The hardness of the upper interface of the dovetail groove is larger than that far away from the welding interface, while the hardness of the lower interface is the same as that far away from the interface. The tensile and shear test results show that the shear strength is greater than 80 MPa, which meets the requirements of aluminum-steel composite plate bonding strength. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Quantitative online detection of microcracks in long-distance oil and gas pipelines is an international problem, and the effective detection method is still lacking. In this paper, a mathematical model of non-uniform distribution of crack magnetic charges is established based on the stress distribution laws of pipeline cracks under internal pressure. The weak magnetic signal characteristics of pipeline cracks with different sizes are analyzed. The internal pressure increasing factor of weak magnetic signals are extracted to analyze the corresponding relationship between crack size and weak magnetic signals. The experimental study of the X70 pipeline is carried out. The results show that the axial component of the weak magnetic signal at the crack has a maximum value near the tip, and a minimum value appears in the middle of the crack. The internal pressure increasing factor is introduced to quantify the weak magnetic signal, the crack is in a safe state (not expanding) when the internal pressure increasing factor is positive, the weak magnetic signal has a linear relationship with the crack size. However, the crack is in a dangerous state when the internal pressure increasing factor is negative, and the pipeline crack will expand as the internal pressure increases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
