To initially improve the gas production rate and shorten the payback period for tight gas reservoirs, the multiple-fractured horizontal well (MFHW) model is always applied. However, in the late stages of exploitation, it is difficult to adopt reasonable measures for enhanced gas recovery (EGR), particular for continental sedimentary formation with multiple layers, and efficient strategies for EGR in this type of gas field have not yet been presented. Therefore, in this paper, a typical tight gas reservoir in the late stages of exploitation, the Denglouku gas reservoir in Changling gas field, in which MFHWs were utilized and contributed to the communication of the higher Denglouku formation (0.34 mol% CO2) and lower Yingcheng formation (27 mol% CO2) during hydraulic fracturing, is studied comprehensively. Firstly, alongside the seismic, logging, drilling and experimental data, 3D geological and numerical simulation models are developed. According to the differences in CO2 mole fractions for different formations, the gas production rate of MFHWs produced from Denglouku formation is accurately calculated. Then, the well gas production rate (WGPR) and the well bottom-hole pressure (WBHP) history are matched with the calculated values, and thus the types of remaining gas are provided through the fine reservoir description. Finally, in a combination of gas recovery and economics, the optimal infill well type and the adjustment scheme are determined. The results show that there are three main categories of remaining gas, which are areal distribution, abundant points, and marginal dispersion, and the ratios of reaming gas reserve for these three types are 80.3%, 4.2%, and 15.5%, respectively. For the tight gas reservoir developed by MFHWs with parallel and zipper patterns, the best infilling well type is the vertical well. The combination of patching holes, sidetracking, infilling and boosting can obtain the highest gas recovery, while the scheme with patching holes and sidetracking has the best economic benefits. To balance the gas recovery and economics, the measurement of patching holes, sidetracking and infilling with vertical wells is utilized. In the final production period, compared with the basic schemes, the gas recovery can increase by 5.5%. The primary novelty of this paper lies in the determination of the optimal infilling well types and its presentation of a comprehensive adjustment workflow for EGR in tight gas reservoirs. As an unconventional clean resource with huge reserves and a wide distribution, natural gas hydrates (NGHs) have good application prospects. However, due to limited understanding and available production technology for NGHs, there is still a large gap between current production tests and commercial exploitation. A breakthrough in reservoir stimulation technologies is key to realizing the industrialization of NGHs in the future. Through a comprehensive summary of hydrate production test cases in Japan and China, this paper highlights the difficulties in the transformation of weakly-consolidated reservoirs. By systematically reviewing the theory and technology of hydrate reservoir transformation and engineering applications, this paper elucidates in detail the technical principles and mechanisms of several available stimulation technologies for weakly-consolidated reservoirs, and assesses the feasibility of their application to increase the production of NGHs. Existing problems and challenges are summarized and future prospects are discussed. Pediatric brain tumors are the second most common type of cancer, accounting for one in four childhood cancer types. Brain tumor resection surgery remains the most common treatment option for brain cancer. While assessing tumor margins intraoperatively, surgeons must send tissue samples for biopsy, which can be time-consuming and not always accurate or helpful. Snapshot hyperspectral imaging (sHSI) cameras can capture scenes beyond the human visual spectrum and provide real-time guidance where we aim to segment healthy brain tissues from lesions on pediatric patients undergoing brain tumor resection. With the institutional research board approval, Pro00011028, 139 red-green-blue (RGB), 279 visible, and 85 infrared sHSI data were collected from four subjects with the system integrated into an operating microscope. A random forest classifier was used for data analysis. The RGB, infrared sHSI, and visible sHSI models achieved average intersection of unions (IoUs) of 0.76, 0.59, and 0.57, respectively, while the tumor segmentation achieved a specificity of 0.996, followed by the infrared HSI and visible HSI models at 0.93 and 0.91, respectively. Despite the small dataset considering pediatric cases, our research leveraged sHSI technology and successfully segmented healthy brain tissues from lesions with a high specificity during pediatric brain tumor resection procedures. The kidney is an important organ for the maintenance of Ca2+ homeostasis in the body. However, disruption of Ca2+ homeostasis will cause a series of kidney diseases, such as acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), podocytopathy, and diabetic nephropathy. During the progression of kidney disease, Ca2+ signaling plays key roles in various cell activities such as necrosis, apoptosis, eryptosis and autophagy. Importantly, there are complex Ca2+ flux networks between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), mitochondria and lysosomes which regulate intracellular Ca2+ signaling in renal cells and contribute to kidney disease. In addition, Ca2+ signaling also links the crosstalk between various cell deaths and autophagy under the stress of heavy metals or high glucose. In this regard, we present a review of Ca2+ signaling in cell death and crosstalk with autophagy and its potential as a therapeutic target for the development of new and efficient drugs against kidney diseases. Simple Summary: Some thyroid tumors elected for surveillance remain indolent, while others progress. The mechanism responsible for this difference is poorly understood, making it challenging to devise patient surveillance plans. Early prediction is important for tailoring treatment and follow-up in high-risk patients. The aim of our study was to identify predictive markers for progression. We leveraged a highly sensitive test that accurately predicts which thyroid nodules are more likely to develop lymph node metastasis, thereby improving care and outcomes for cancer patients. Papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs) account for most endocrine tumors; however, screening and diagnosing the recurrence of PTC remains a clinical challenge. Using microRNA sequencing (miR-seq) to explore miRNA expression profiles in PTC tissues and adjacent normal tissues, we aimed to determine which miRNAs may be associated with PTC recurrence and metastasis. Public databases such as TCGA and GEO were utilized for data sourcing and external validation, respectively, and miR-seq results were validated using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). We found miR-145 to be significantly downregulated in tumor tissues and blood. Deregulation was significantly related to clinicopathological features of PTC patients including tumor size, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, and recurrence. In silico data analysis showed that miR-145 can negatively regulate multiple genes in the TC signaling pathway and was associated with cell apoptosis, proliferation, stem cell differentiation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Taken together, the current study suggests that miR-145 may be a biomarker for PTC recurrence. Further mechanistic studies are required to uncover its cellular roles in this regard. Mutations in the leucine-rich repeat kinase-2 (LRRK2) gene cause autosomal-dominant Parkinson's disease (PD) and contribute to sporadic PD. Common genetic variation in LRRK2 modifies susceptibility to immunological disorders including Crohn's disease and leprosy. Previous studies have reported that LRRK2 is expressed in B lymphocytes and macrophages, suggesting a role for LRRK2 in immunological functions. In this study, we characterized the LRRK2 protein expression and phosphorylation using human lymphoblasts. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a proinflammatory agent, induced the increase of LRRK2 expression and kinase activities in human lymphoblasts in a time-dependent manner. Moreover, LPS activated the Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathway, increased TRAF6/LRRK2 interaction, and elevated the phosphorylation levels of MAPK (JNK1/2, p38, and ERK1/2) and IkBα. Treatment with LRRK2 inhibitor 68 reduced LPS-induced TRAF6/LRRK2 interaction and MAPK and IkBα phosphorylation, thereby reducing TNF-α secretion. These results indicate that LRRK2 is actively involved in proinflammatory responses in human lymphoblasts, and inhibition of GTP binding by 68 results in an anti-inflammation effect against proinflammatory stimuli. These findings not only provide novel insights into the mechanisms of LRRK2-linked immune and inflammatory responses in B-cell-like lymphoblasts, but also suggest that 68 may also have potential therapeutic value for LRRK2-linked immunological disorders. In the long-time pursuit of the solution to calculating the partition function (or free energy) of condensed matter, Monte-Carlo-based nested sampling should be the state-of-the-art method, and very recently, we established a direct integral approach that works at least four orders faster. In present work, the above two methods were applied to solid argon at temperatures up to 300 K. The derived internal energy and pressure were compared with the molecular dynamics simulation as well as experimental measurements, showing that the calculation precision of our approach is about 10 times higher than that of the nested sampling method. Deposition of atoms or molecules on a solid surface is a flexible way to prepare various novel two-dimensional materials if the growth conditions, such as suitable surface and optimum temperature, could be predicted theoretically. However, prediction challenges modern theory of material design because the free energy criteria can hardly be applied to this issue due to the long-standing problem in statistical physics of the calculations of the free energy. Herein, we present an approach to the problem by the demonstrations of graphene and γ-graphyne on the surface of copper crystal, as well as silicene on a silver substrate. Compared with previous state-of-the-art algorithms for calculations of the free energy, our approach is capable of achieving computational precisions at least 10-times higher, which was confirmed by molecular dynamics simulations, and working at least four orders of magnitude faster, which enables us to obtain free energy based on ab initio calculations of the interaction potential instead of the empirical one. The approach was applied to predict the optimum conditions for silicene growth on different surfaces of solid silver based on density functional theory, and the results are in good agreement with previous experimental observations. Sonar images are inherently affected by speckle noise, which degrades image quality and hinders image exploitation. Despeckling is an important pre-processing task that aims to remove such noise so as to improve the accuracy of analysis tasks on sonar images. In this paper, we propose a novel transformer-based generative adversarial network named SID-TGAN for sonar image despeckling. In the SID-TGAN framework, transformer and convolutional blocks are used to extract global and local features, which are further integrated into the generator and discriminator networks for feature fusion and enhancement. By leveraging adversarial training, SID-TGAN learns more comprehensive representations of sonar images and shows outstanding performance in speckle denoising. Meanwhile, SID-TGAN introduces a new adversarial loss function that combines image content, local texture style, and global similarity to reduce image distortion and information loss during training. Finally, we compare SID-TGAN with state-of-the-art despeckling methods on one image dataset with synthetic optical noise and four real sonar image datasets. Cadmium (Cd2+) exposure induces chronic kidney disease and renal cancers, which originate from injury and cancerization of renal tubular cells. Previous studies have shown that Cd2+ induced cytotoxicity by disrupting the intracellular Ca2+ homeostasis that is physically regulated by the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca2+ store. However, the molecular mechanism of ER Ca2+ homeostasis in Cd2+-induced nephrotoxicity remains unclear. In this study, our results firstly revealed that the activation of calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) by NPS R-467 could protect against Cd2+ exposure-induced cytotoxicity of mouse renal tubular cells (mRTEC) by restoring ER Ca2+ homeostasis through the ER Ca2+ reuptake channel sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA). Cd2+-induced ER stress and cell apoptosis were effectively abrogated by SERCA agonist CDN1163 and SERCA2 overexpression. In addition, in vivo, and in vitro results proved that Cd2+ reduced the expressions of SERCA2 and its activity regulator phosphorylation phospholamban (p-PLB) in renal tubular cells. Cd2+-induced SERCA2 degradation was suppressed by the treatment of proteasome inhibitor MG132, which suggested that Cd2+ reduced SERCA2 protein stability by promoting the proteasomal protein degradation pathway. These results suggested that SERCA2 played pivotal roles in Cd2+-induced ER Ca2+ imbalance and stress to contribute to apoptosis of renal tubular cells, and the proteasomal pathway was involved in regulating SERCA2 stability. A series of benzonaphthyridine derivatives bearing the C=N linkage moiety were designed and synthesized. The structures of all the newly synthesized compounds were identified by elemental analysis, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS. Their anti-intestinal nematode activities against Nippostrongylus brazilliensis were evaluated in vivo by an oral route in male rats. Among these compounds, at concentrations of 10 mg/kg of rat, the compound 7-chloro-2-methoxy-10-(4-(4′-(1H-indol-5′-yl)methylene)aminophenyl)-amino-benzo[b][1,5] naphthyridine (4n) produced the highest activity, with 80.2% deparasitization. A role for the cytoplasmic protein synphilin-1 in regulating energy balance has been demonstrated recently. Expression of synphilin-1 increases ATP levels in cultured cells. However, the mechanism by which synphilin-1 alters cellular energy status is unknown. Here, we used cell models and biochemical approaches to investigate the cellular functions of synphilin-1 on the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway, which may affect energy balance. Overexpression of synphilin-1 increased AMPK phosphorylation (activation). Moreover, synphilin-1 interacted with AMPK by co-immunoprecipitation and GST (glutathione S-transferase) pull-down assays. Knockdown of synphilin-1 reduced AMPK phosphorylation. Overexpression of synphilin-1 also altered AMPK downstream signaling, i.e., a decrease in acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACC) phosphorylation, and an increase in p70S6K phosphorylation. Treatment of compound C (an AMPK inhibitor) reduced synphilin-1 binding with AMPK. In addition, compound C diminished synphilin-1-induced AMPK phosphorylation, and the increase in cellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) levels. Our results demonstrated that synphilin-1 couples with AMPK, and they exert mutual effects on each other to regulate cellular energy status. Horizontal wells with multi-stage fractures have been widely used to improve coalbed methane (CBM) production from coalbed methane reservoirs. The main focus of this work is to establish a new semi-analytical method in the Laplace domain and investigate the transient pressure behavior in coalbed methane reservoirs. With the new semi-analytical method, flow regimes of a multi-fractured horizontal well in coalbed methane reservoirs were identified. In addition, the sensitivities of fracture conductivity, diffusion model, storability ratio, inter-porosity flow coefficient, adsorption index, fracture spacing, fracture asymmetry, non-planar angle, and wellbore storage were studied. Results indicate that six characteristic flow regimes can be identified for multi-fractured horizontal wells in coalbed methane reservoirs, which are bilinear flow, first linear flow, desorption-diffusion flow, first pseudo-radial flow, second linear flow, and second pseudo-radial flow. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis shows that the early flow is mainly determined by the fracture conductivity, the asymmetry factor, the non-planar angle, and the wellbore storage; while the desorption-diffusion flow regime is mainly influenced by the diffusion model, the storability ratio, the inter-porosity flow coefficient, the adsorption index, and the fracture spacing. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has been widely used in indoor location tracking, especially serving human beings, due to its advantage of low cost, non-contact communication, resistance to hostile environments and so forth. Over the years, many indoor location tracking methods have been proposed. However, tracking mobile RFID readers in real-time has been a daunting task, especially for achieving high localization accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new Mobile RFID (M-RFID)-based Localization approach for Indoor Human Tracking, named MRLIHT. Based on the M-RFID model where RFID readers are equipped on the moving objects (human beings) and RFID tags are fixed deployed in the monitoring area, MRLIHT implements the real-time indoor location tracking effectively and economically. First, based on the readings of multiple tags detected by an RFID reader simultaneously, MRLIHT generates the response regions of tags to the reader. Next, MRLIHT determines the potential location region of the reader where two algorithms are devised. Finally, MRLIHT estimates the location of the reader by dividing the potential location region of the reader into finer-grained grids. The Zaozigou Au-Sb deposit has been controversial in its genesis and remains one of the most difficult ore systems to fully understand in West Qinling. The mineralization shows a broad spatial association with Triassic dikes and sills, which were previously thought to be genetically related to mineralization. Our U-Pb zircon dating in this contribution indicates that the ore-hosting porphyritic dacites were formed at 246.1 ± 5.2 Ma and 248.1 ± 3.8 Ma. The magmatic zircons yield εHf(t) values ranging from −12.5 to −8.9, with corresponding two-stage model ages of 2.08 to 1.83 Ga. The magma therefore could be derived from partial melting of Paleoproterozoic crustal materials. The ore-hosting porphyritic dacites have low oxygen fugacity, with ΔFMQ ranging from −4.61 to −2.56, indicating that magmas could have been sulfide-saturated during evolution in deep chambers and precluding the possibility that metals were released from the melt. Zaozigou exhibits characteristics widespread volcanics, massive sulfide mineralization, rare reduced mineral assemblage and discrete alteration zones which are not typical of reduced intrusion-related or porphyry gold systems. We propose that the spatially-related Triassic porphyritic dacite and dike swarm is not genetically related to the ore formation of Zaozigou Au-Sb deposit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
