Titanium zirconium vanadium (TiZrV) is a widely used non-evaporable getter (NEG) material with the characteristics of a low activation temperature and a large gas absorption capacity. At present, the research on TiZrV getters mainly focuses on the thin-film state, with little research on the bulk state. In this paper, a TiZrV getter was optimized by adding Al, and the phase structure, activation properties, and gettering performance were studied. With the addition of Al, the α-Zr phase and Ti2Zr phase changed into the Ti-Zr phase and Al-Zr, Al-Ti phase. The newly generated phase promoted the diffusion of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The activation temperature decreased significantly, as shown in the in situ XPS results. The H2 and CO gettering performance of TiZrVAl samples was promoted to 2073 cm3·s−1 and 1912.8 cm3·s−1, increased by 40.7% and 40.3%. Optimizing jamming strategies is crucial for enhancing the performance of cognitive jamming systems in dynamic electromagnetic environments. The emergence of frequency-agile radars, capable of changing the carrier frequency within or between pulses, poses significant challenges for the jammer to make intelligent decisions and adapt to the dynamic environment. This paper focuses on researching intelligent jamming decision-making algorithms for Intra-Pulse Frequency Agile Radar using deep reinforcement learning. Intra-Pulse Frequency Agile Radar achieves frequency agility at the sub-pulse level, creating a significant frequency agility space. This presents challenges for traditional jamming decision-making methods to rapidly learn its changing patterns through interactions. By employing Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) to capture long-term dependencies in sequence data, together with the attention mechanism, this paper proposes a GA-Dueling DQN (GRU-Attention-based Dueling Deep Q Network) method for jamming frequency selection. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method outperforms traditional Q-learning, DQN, and Dueling DQN methods in terms of jamming effectiveness. Geobacter grbiciae can grow via coupling oxidation of ethanol to the reduction of various forms of soluble Fe(III) and poorly crystalline Fe(III) oxide, suggesting that G. grbiciae can act as an electron-donor microbe for forming co-cultures through direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET). In this report, potential co-cultures through DIET of G. grbiciae and Methanosarcina barkeri 800, G. sulfurreducens Δhyb, or Methanospirillum hungatei, as electron-acceptor microbes, were examined. Co-cultures of G. grbiciae and G. sulfurreducens Δhyb were performed with ethanol as the sole electron-donor substance and fumarate as the electron-acceptor substance in the presence of granular activated carbon (GAC), magnetite, or polyester felt. The conditions for co-culturing G. grbiciae and M. barkeri 800 (or M. hungatei) were the same as those for G. grbiciae and G. sulfurreducens Δhyb, except fumarate was absent and different cultivation temperatures were used. All co-cultures were anaerobically cultivated. Samples were regularly withdrawn from the co-cultures to monitor methane, fumarate, and succinate via gas or high-performance liquid chromatography. G. grbiciae formed functional co-cultures with M. barkeri 800 in the presence of GAC or magnetite. No co-culture of G. grbiciae with the H2/formate-utilizing methanogen M. hungatei was observed. Additionally, G. grbiciae formed functional co-cultures with H2/formate-un-utilizing G. sulfurreducens Δhyb without the GAC or magnetite supplement. These findings indicate electron transfer between G. grbiciae and M. barkeri 800/G. sulfurreducens Δhyb is via DIET rather than H2/formate, confirming that G. grbiciae acts as an electron-donor microbe. Although the co-cultures of G. grbiciae and M. barkeri 800 syntrophically converted ethanol to methane through DIET, the conversion of propionate or butyrate to methane was not observed. These findings expand the range of microbes that can act as electron donors for interaction with other microbes through DIET. However, propionate and butyrate metabolism through DIET in mixed microbial communities with methane as a product requires further analysis. The properties and phosphate adsorption capability of the one-step method and electrochemical method in modifying peanut shell biochar have been determined. The one-step method deposits MgO and Fe3O4 onto biochar through chemical impregnation and regularly affects the functional groups and magnetic separation of biochar, thereby enhancing its ability to adsorb phosphate. In contrast, the electrochemical method is not favorable for modifying functional groups of biochar but can promote phosphate adsorption because of the formation of MgFe2O4 and Fe3O4 using electrolysis. The adsorption isotherm and kinetics data suggest that adsorption is monolayer onto a homogeneous surface and phosphate adsorption could be controlled by chemical processes. Biochar with the addition of both Fe2+ and Mg2+ shows better phosphate adsorption capability than those with barely any Fe2+ additions. Cisplatin is a widely used antineoplastic drug, though its adverse effects, particularly its hepatorenal toxicity, limit its long-term application. Sika deer antler is a valuable traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) documented to possess the capacity for tonifying the kidney and regulating the liver, of which the sika deer antler protein is an important active ingredient. In this study, two protein fractions, SVPr1 and SVPr2, of sika deer antler were purified and administered to mice treated with cisplatin, and serum metabolome and fecal microbiota were measured using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. SVPr1 and SVPr2 significantly ameliorated cisplatin-induced liver and kidney injury and reduced mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and apoptosis. In addition, SVPr1 and SVPr2 impacted the gut microbiota structure of mice, significantly increasing the relative abundances of Lactobacillus, which deserves to be scrutinized. Moreover, SVPr1 and SVPr2 antagonism of cisplatin-induced hepatorenal injury may be related to the regulation of lysine degradation, tryptophan metabolism, and riboflavin metabolism pathways, significantly altering the levels of L-saccharopine, L-lysine, L-kynurenine, 3-methylindole, xanthurenic acid, riboflavin, and D-ribulose-5-phosphate. A correlation between the differential metabolites and Lactobacillus was identified. These findings increased the knowledge of the gut microbiota–metabolites axis mediated by SVPr1 and SVPr2, and may be able to contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies for the simultaneous prevention and treatment of liver and kidney injury from cisplatin treatment. Effective viral clearance requires fine-tuned immune responses to minimize undesirable inflammatory responses. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that are abundant and highly stable, formed by backsplicing pre-mRNAs, and expressed ubiquitously in eukaryotic cells, emerging as critical regulators of a plethora of signaling pathways. Recent progress in high-throughput sequencing has enabled a better understanding of the physiological and pathophysiological functions of circRNAs, overcoming the obstacle of the sequence overlap between circRNAs and their linear cognate mRNAs. Some viruses also encode circRNAs implicated in viral replication or disease progression. There is increasing evidence that viral infections dysregulate circRNA expression and that the altered expression of circRNAs is critical in regulating viral infection and replication. circRNAs were shown to regulate gene expression via microRNA and protein sponging or via encoding small polypeptides. Recent studies have also highlighted the potential role of circRNAs as promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, RNA vaccines and antiviral therapy candidates due to their higher stability and lower immunogenicity. This review presents an up-to-date summary of the mechanistic involvement of circRNAs in innate immunity against viral infections, the current understanding of their regulatory roles, and the suggested applications. Ultrasonic-assisted inner diameter machining is a slicing method for hard and brittle materials. During this process, the sawing force is the main factor affecting the workpiece surface quality and tool life. Therefore, based on indentation fracture mechanics, a theoretical model of the cutting force of an ultrasound-assisted inner diameter saw is established in this paper for surface quality improvement. The cutting experiment was carried out with alumina ceramics (99%) as an exemplar of hard and brittle material. A six-axis force sensor was used to measure the sawing force in the experiment. The correctness of the theoretical model was verified by comparing the theoretical modeling with the actual cutting force, and the influence of machining parameters on the normal sawing force was evaluated. The experimental results showed that the ultrasonic-assisted cutting force model based on the six-axis force sensor proposed in this paper was more accurate. Compared with the regular tetrahedral abrasive model, the mean value and variance of the proposed model's force prediction error were reduced by 5.08% and 2.56%. Furthermore, by using the proposed model, the sawing processing parameters could be updated to improve the slice surface quality from a roughness Sa value of 1.534 µm to 1.129 µm. The dried bulbs of Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (AMB) are called "薤白" in China and are mainly distributed in Asia. The plant species included in the 2020 Edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (ChP) are Allium macrostemon Bunge (called xiaogensuan in Chinese, A. macrostemon) and Allium chinense G. Don (called xie in Chinese, A. chinense), respectively. In the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theoretical system, AMB is warm in nature, acrid-bitter taste, and attributive to the heart, lung, stomach, large intestine meridian. AMB has the function of activating Yang and removing stasis, regulating Qi and eliminating stagnation. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that AMB has anti-platelet aggregation, hypolipidemic, anti-atherosclerotic, cardiomyocyte, vascular endothelial cell protection, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-asthmatic, and anti-oxidant effects. In some Asian countries, AMB is often used to treat coronary heart disease (CHD), angina pectoris (AP), asthma, and diarrhea. This review collates the botanical background, ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, pharmacological activities, quality control, and toxicological studies of AMB, and provides an outlook on the current research deficiencies and future research priorities of AMB, intending to provide ideas for future research directions and commercial development. Obesity and overweight attributed to poor nutrition and a lack of physical activity increasingly become a serious problem among women of reproductive age [[1]]. Possible reasons are physically inactiveness caused by pregnancy-related symptoms, busy schedules and lack of knowledge about safety and benefits of exercise during pregnancy [[3]]. The exercise programs designed in most studies were characterized with moderate intensity, commencement in the second trimester, a duration of 20-60 min and a frequency of 1-3 sessions per week [[10]]. A randomized clinical trial conducted in 2020 also found that a supervised online exercise program starting in the early pregnancy stages significantly reduced the prevalence of perineal tears and episiotomy rates, showing potential benefits for preventing pelvic floor dysfunction and urinary incontinence postpartum in the long run [[12]]. Simple Summary: Fertility-sparing treatment for young women with endometrial atypical hyperplasia or endometrioid endometrial cancer has become an important priority. The aim of our retrospective study was to evaluate the effects of different weight statuses and related metabolic disorders on the oncological and reproductive outcomes of fertility-sparing treatment. We found that there was a parabola-shaped relationship between the cumulative complete response rate of treatment and BMI. The apex of the curve was observed at a BMI of 21–22 kg/m2. Furthermore, we demonstrated that hyperuricemia was an independent risk factor for the failure of conservative treatment, correlating with a lower cumulative 32-week CR rate and longer treatment duration. Our results indicate that a target BMI interval for weight management should be appropriately established for patients with EAH/EEC. Early active interventions for related metabolic disorders, preferably before 32 weeks of treatment, should be provided to improve treatment efficacy. Background: Although obesity was an independent risk factor for fertility-sparing treatment in endometrial atypical hyperplasia (EAH) and endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC), the roles of other weight statuses and related metabolism were unclear. This study aimed to investigate the body mass index (BMI) interval that produced optimal treatment efficacy and the effects of related metabolic disorders in EAH/EEC patients. Methods: A total of 286 patients (including 209 EAH and 77 well-differentiated EEC) under progestin therapy were retrospectively analyzed. The cumulative complete response (CR) rate, relapse rate, and fertility outcomes were compared among different weight or metabolic statuses. Results: Underweight and overweight/obese status significantly decreased the cumulative 16-week and 32-week CR rate (p = 0.004, p = 0.022, respectively). The highest 16-week CR rate was observed at a BMI of 21–22 kg/m2 in the overall population (p = 0.033). Obesity (HR 0.37, 95%CI 0.15–0.90, p = 0.029) and PCOS (HR 0.55, 95%CI 0.31–0.99, p = 0.047) were associated with lower 16-week CR rate. Hyperuricemia (HR 0.66, 95%CI 0.45–0.99, p = 0.043) was associated with lower 32-week CR rate. The 16-week and 32-week CR rate (p = 0.036, p = 0.008, respectively) were significantly lower in patients exhibiting both obesity and hyperuricemia. Conclusions: The optimal fertility-sparing treatment efficacy was observed at a BMI of 21–22 kg/m2 in EAH/EEC. Hyperuricemia was an independent risk factor for long-term treatment outcomes. High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), a member of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), is involved in the immune regulation of several infectious diseases. Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) infection is proved to cause an abnormal immune response, but the role of HMGB1 in MG-induced chronic respiratory disease (CRD) is unclear. In this study, we found that HMGB1 was released from the nucleus to the extracellular in macrophages upon infection with MG. Extracellular HMGB1 bound to TLR2 activating the NF-κB pathway triggering a severe inflammatory storm and promoting the progression of MG infection. More importantly, TLR4 could be activated by HMGB1 to trigger immune disorders after TLR2 was silenced. This disease process could be interrupted by ethyl pyruvate (EP) inhibition of HMGB1 release or glycyrrhizic acid (GA). Furthermore, treatment of MG-infected chickens with GA significantly alleviated immune organ damage. In conclusion, we demonstrate that HMGB1 is secreted extracellularly to form an inflammatory environment upon MG infection, triggering a further cellular inflammatory storm in a positive feedback approach. Blocking MG-induced HMGB1 release or suppression downstream of the HMGB1-TLR2/TLR4 axis may be a promising novel strategy for the treatment of CRD. African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious hemorrhagic disease of pigs, posing a significant threat to the world pig industry. Several researchers are investigating the possibilities for developing a safe and efficient vaccine against ASF. In this regard, significant progress has been made and some gene-deleted ASFVs are reported as potential live attenuated vaccines. A seven-gene-deleted live attenuated vaccine candidate HLJ/18-7GD (among which CD2v is included) has been developed in our laboratory and reported to be safe and protective, and it is expected to be commercialized in the near future. There is an urgent need for developing a diagnostic method that can clearly discriminate between wild-type-ASFV-infected and vaccinated animals (DIVA). In the present study, a dual indirect ELISA based on p54 and CD2v proteins was successfully established to specifically distinguish serum antibodies from pigs infected with wild-type ASFV or possessing vaccine immunization. To evaluate the performance of the assay, a total of 433 serum samples from four groups of pigs experimentally infected with the wild-type HLJ/18 ASFV, immunized with the HLJ/18-7GD vaccine candidate, infected with the new lower virulent variant, and specific-pathogen-free pigs were used. Our results showed that the positive rate of immunized serum was 96.54% (p54) and 2.83% (CD2v), and the positive rate of the infection by wild-type virus was 100% (p54) and 97.8% (CD2v). Similarly, the positive rate to infection by the new low-virulent ASFV variant in China was 100% (p54) and 0% (CD2v), indicating the technique was also able to distinguish antibodies from wild-type and the new low-virulent ASFV variant in China. Moreover, no cross-reaction was observed in immune sera from other swine pathogens, such as CSFV, PEDV, PRRSV, HP-PRRSV, PCV2, and PrV. Overall, the developed dual indirect ELISA exhibited high diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and repeatability and will provide a new approach to differentiate serum antibodies between wild virulent and CD2v-unexpressed ASFV infection, which will play a great role in serological diagnosis and epidemiological monitoring of ASF in the future. In a subset of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases, the core binding factor beta subunit gene (CBFB) was rearranged via inv(16)(p13.1q22) or t(16;16)(p13.1;q22), in which the smooth muscle myosin heavy chain 11 gene (MYH11) was the partner (CBFB::MYH11). Rare variants of CBFB rearrangement occurring via non-classic chromosomal aberrations have been reported, such as t(1;16), t(2;16), t(3;16), t(5;16), and t(16;19), but the partners of CBFB have not been characterized. We report a case of AML with a complex karyotype, including t(2;16)(q37;q22), in which the protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 7 gene (PPP1R7) at chromosome 2q37 was rearranged with CBFB (CBFB::PPP1R7). This abnormality was inconspicuous by conventional karyotype and interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), thus leading to an initial interpretation of inv(16)(p13.1q22); however, metaphase FISH showed that the CBFB rearrangement involved chromosome 2. Using whole genome and Sanger sequencing, the breakpoints were identified as being located in intron 5 of CBFB and intron 7 of PPP1R7. A microhomology of CAG was found in the break and reconnection sites of CBFB and PPP1R7, thus supporting the formation of CBFB::PPP1R7 by microhomology-mediated end joining. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dynamic optimization of the closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) is a hot research topic. Members' competitive behavior and product goodwill play an important role in the decision making of CLSC members. In this paper, a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) with competitive manufacturers and single retailers is studied, in which the manufacturer produces and recycles the products, and the retailer is responsible for the sales of the products. On this basis, a dynamic linear differential equation of product goodwill is constructed, the optimal dynamic path of each decision variable is found, and the influence of price competition among manufacturers on the decision making of members in a dynamic closed-loop supply chain is studied. The conclusion is verified by an example. The results show that goodwill directly affects the wholesale price, the retail price, the recovery price, and the profit of supply chain members. The wholesale price and the retail price of products are not only positively affected by their own goodwill, but also by the goodwill of competing products. The manufacturer competition intensity will affect the product price and the supply chain member profit. To a certain extent, the more intense the manufacturer's competition is, the higher the wholesale price and the retail price, and the greater the profit of the supply chain members. Titanium silicon molecular zeolite (TS-1) plays an important role in catalytic reactions due to its unique nanostructure. The straight channel on TS-1 was parallel to the orientation of the short b-axis and directly exposed to the aperture of the 10-member ring with a diameter of 0.54 nm × 0.56 nm. This structure could effectively reduce the diffuse restriction of bulk organic compounds during the oxidative desulfurization process. As a kind of cationic polymer electrolyte, polydimethyldiallyl ammonium chloride (PDDA) contains continuous [C8H16N+Cl−] chain segments, in which the Cl− could function as an effective structure-directing agent in the synthesis of nanomaterials. The chain of PDDA could adequately interact with the [0 1 0] plane in the preparation process of zeolite, and then the TS-1 nanosheet with short b-axis thickness (6 nm) could be obtained. The pore structure of the TS-1 nanosheet is controlled by regulating the content of PDDA. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), N2 physical adsorption analysis, infrared absorption spectrum and ultraviolet–visible spectrum were used to determine the TS-1. The thinner nanosheets exhibit excellent catalytic performance in oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene (DBT), in which the removal rate could remain at 100% after three recycles. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among females, early diagnostic methods with suitable treatments improve the 5-year survival rates significantly. Microwave breast imaging has been reported as the most potential to become the alternative or additional tool to the current gold standard X-ray mammography for detecting breast cancer. The microwave breast image quality is affected by the microwave sensor, sensor array, the number of sensors in the array and the size of the sensor. In fact, microwave sensor array and sensor play an important role in the microwave breast imaging system. Numerous microwave biosensors have been developed for biomedical applications, with particular focus on breast tumor detection. Compared to the conventional medical imaging and biosensor techniques, these microwave sensors not only enable better cancer detection and improve the image resolution, but also provide attractive features such as label-free detection. This paper aims to provide an overview of recent important achievements in microwave sensors for biomedical imaging applications, with particular focus on breast cancer detection. The electric properties of biological tissues at microwave spectrum, microwave imaging approaches, microwave biosensors, current challenges and future works are also discussed in the manuscript. Simple Summary: Dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI has become a quantitative standard for assessing vascular permeability and perfusion. However, conventional pharmacokinetic (PK) modeling in DCE MRI is complex and time-consuming for dynamic MR scans with thousands of pixels per image. We have previously developed a deep learning approach using convolutional neural networks (CNN) as an efficient and accurate tool for the generation of PK parameter maps from DCE MRI of glioblastoma (GBM) mice. In the present study, the utility of this approach is further established through transfer learning between GBM-trained CNN and whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT)-treated brain metastasis (BM) mice. The purpose of this study is to further validate the utility of our previously developed CNN in an alternative small animal model of BM through transfer learning. Unlike the glioma model, the BM mouse model develops multifocal intracranial metastases, including both contrast enhancing and non-enhancing lesions on DCE MRI, thus serving as an excellent brain tumor model to study tumor vascular permeability. Here, we conducted transfer learning by transferring the previously trained GBM CNN to DCE MRI datasets of BM mice. The CNN was re-trained to learn about the relationship between BM DCE images and target permeability maps extracted from the Extended Tofts Model (ETM). The transferred network was found to accurately predict BM permeability and presented with excellent spatial correlation with the target ETM PK maps. The CNN model was further tested in another cohort of BM mice treated with WBRT to assess vascular permeability changes induced via radiotherapy. The CNN detected significantly increased permeability parameter Ktrans in WBRT-treated tumors (p < 0.01), which was in good agreement with the target ETM PK maps. In conclusion, the proposed CNN can serve as an efficient and accurate tool for characterizing vascular permeability and treatment responses in small animal brain tumor models. Single-cell RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) has been demonstrated to be a proven method for quantifying gene-expression heterogeneity and providing insight into the transcriptome at the single-cell level. When combining multiple single-cell transcriptome datasets for analysis, it is common to first correct the batch effect. Most of the state-of-the-art processing methods are unsupervised, i.e., they do not utilize single-cell cluster labeling information, which could improve the performance of batch correction methods, especially in the case of multiple cell types. To better utilize known labels for complex dataset scenarios, we propose a novel deep learning model named IMAAE (i.e., integrating multiple single-cell datasets via an adversarial autoencoder) to correct the batch effects. After conducting experiments with various dataset scenarios, the results show that IMAAE outperforms existing methods for both qualitative measures and quantitative evaluation. In addition, IMAAE is able to retain both corrected dimension reduction data and corrected gene expression data. Marek's disease (MD) was an immunosuppression disease induced by Marek's disease virus (MDV). MD caused huge economic loss to the global poultry industry, but it also provided an ideal model for studying diseases induced by the oncogenic virus. Alternative splicing (AS) simultaneously produced different isoform transcripts, which are involved in various diseases and individual development. To investigate AS events in MD, RNA-Seq was performed in tumorous spleens (TS), spleens from the survivors (SS) without any lesion after MDV infection, and non-infected chicken spleens (NS). In this study, 32,703 and 25,217 AS events were identified in TS and SS groups with NS group as the control group, and 1198, 1204, and 348 differently expressed (DE) AS events (p-value < 0.05 and FDR < 0.05) were identified in TS vs. NS, TS vs. SS, SS vs. NS, respectively. Additionally, Function enrichment analysis showed that ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, p53 signaling pathway, and phosphatidylinositol signaling system were significantly enriched (p-value < 0.05). Small structural variations including SNP and indel were analyzed based on RNA-Seq data, and it showed that the TS group possessed more variants on the splice site region than those in SS and NS groups, which might cause more AS events in the TS group. Combined with previous circRNA data, we found that 287 genes could produce both circular and linear RNAs, which suggested these genes were more active in MD lymphoma transformation. Glutamine synthetase (GS), a key enzyme in plant nitrogen metabolism, is closely related to nitrogen remobilization. However, how GS isoforms participate in nitrogen remobilization remains unclear. Here, the spatiotemporal expression of the TaGS gene family after anthesis was investigated, and the results showed that TaGS1;1 was mainly encoded by TaGS1;1-6A, while the other isozymes were mainly encoded by TaGS localized on the A and D subgenomes. TaGS1;2-4A/4D had the highest expression level, especially in rachis and peduncle. Furthermore, immunofluorescence showed TaGS1;2 was located in the phloem of rachis and peduncle. GUS (β-glucuronidase) staining confirmed that ProTaGS1;2-4A/4D::GUS activity was mainly present in the vascular system of leaves, roots, and petal of Arabidopsis. Ureides, an important transport form of nitrogen, were mainly synthesized in flag leaves and transported to grains through the phloem of peduncle and rachis during grain filling. TaAAH, which encodes the enzyme that degrades ureides to release NH4+, had a higher expression in rachis and peduncle and was synchronized with the increase in NH4+ concentration in phloem, indicating that NH4+ in phloem is from ureide degradation. Taking the above into account, TaGS1;2, which is highly expressed in the phloem of peduncle and rachis, may participate in N remobilization by assimilating NH4+ released from ureide degradation. Terahertz (THz) imaging has the potential to detect breast tumors during breast-conserving surgery accurately. Over the past decade, many research groups have extensively studied THz imaging and spectroscopy techniques for identifying breast tumors. This manuscript presents the recent development of THz imaging techniques for breast cancer detection. The dielectric properties of breast tissues in the THz range, THz imaging and spectroscopy systems, THz radiation sources, and THz breast imaging studies are discussed. In addition, numerous chemometrics methods applied to improve THz image resolution and data collection processing are summarized. On-road exhaust emissions from light-duty vehicles are greatly influenced by driving conditions. In this study, two light-duty passenger cars (LDPCs) and three light-duty diesel trucks (LDDTs) were tested to investigate the on-road emission factors (EFs) with a portable emission measurement system. Emission characteristics of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted from vehicles at different speeds, accelerations and vehicle specific power (VSP) were analyzed. The results demonstrated that road conditions have significant impacts on regulated gaseous emissions. CO, NOx, and HC emissions from light-duty vehicles on urban roads increased by 1.1–1.5, 1.2–1.4, and 1.9–2.6 times compared with those on suburban and highway roads, respectively. There was a rough positive relationship between transient CO, NOx, and HC emission rates and vehicle speeds, while the EFs decreased significantly with the speed decrease when speed ≤ 20 km/h. The emissions rates of NOx and HC tended to increase and then decrease as the acceleration increased and the peak occurred at 0 m/s2 without considering idling conditions. For HC and CO, the emission rates were low and changed gently with VSP when VSP < 0, while emission rates increased gradually with the VSP increase when VSP > 0. Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (PLP) is the active form of vitamin B6, but it is highly reactive and poisonous in its free form. YggS is a PLP-binding protein found in bacteria and humans that mediates PLP homeostasis by delivering PLP to target enzymes or by performing a protective function. Several biochemical and structural studies of YggS have been reported, but the mechanism by which YggS recognizes PLP has not been fully elucidated. Here, we report a functional and structural analysis of YggS from Fusobacterium nucleatum (FnYggS). The PLP molecule could bind to native FnYggS, but no PLP binding was observed for selenomethionine (SeMet)-derivatized FnYggS. The crystal structure of FnYggS showed a type III TIM barrel fold, exhibiting structural homology with several other PLP-dependent enzymes. Although FnYggS exhibited low (<35%) amino acid sequence similarity with previously studied YggS proteins, its overall structure and PLP-binding site were highly conserved. In the PLP-binding site of FnYggS, the sulfate ion was coordinated by the conserved residues Ser201, Gly218, and Thr219, which were positioned to provide the binding moiety for the phosphate group of PLP. The mutagenesis study showed that the conserved Ser201 residue in FnYggS was the key residue for PLP binding. Etomidate is a general anesthetic that has shown good hemodynamic stability without significant cardiovascular or respiratory depression. Despite several kinds of dosage forms having been reported for this drug, formulation types are very limited in clinical practice, and brain-targeted formulations for this central nervous system (CNS) drug have been rarely reported. Moreover, studies on the biocompatibility, toxicity, and anesthetic effects of the etomidate preparations in vivo were inadequate. The present study was to develop lactoferrin-modified liposomal etomidate (Eto-lip-LF) for enhanced drug distribution in the brain and improved anesthetic effects. Eto-lip-LF had good stability for storage and hemocompatibility for intravenous injection. Compared with the non-lactoferrin-containing liposomes, the lactoferrin-modified liposomes had notably enhanced brain-targeting ability in vivo, which was probably realized by the binding of transferrin with the transferrin and lactoferrin receptors highly distributed in the brain. Eto-lip-LF had a therapeutic index of about 25.3, higher than that of many other general anesthetics. Moreover, compared with the commercial etomidate emulsion, Eto-lip-LF could better achieve rapid onset of general anesthesia and rapid recovery from anesthesia, probably due to the enhanced drug delivery to the brain. Depression is a chronic, severe, and often life-threatening neurological disorder. It not only causes depression in patients and affects daily life but, in severe cases, may lead to suicidal behavior and have adverse effects on families and society. In recent years, it has been found that sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine have a rapid antidepressant effect on patients with treatment-resistant depression and can significantly reduce the suicidal tendencies of patients with major depressive disorder. Current studies suggest that ketamine may exert antidepressant effects by blocking NMDAR ion channels, but its anesthetic and psychotomimetic side effects limit its application. Here, we report efforts to design and synthesize a novel series of ketamine derivatives of NMDAR antagonists, among which compounds 23 and 24 have improved activity compared with ketamine, introducing a new direction for the development of rapid-acting antidepressant drugs. In this study, the detailed volatile compositions of Chinese herbaceous aroma-type Baijiu (HAB) were characterized by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-time of flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS). A total of 606 compounds were tentatively identified by similarity, mass spectral data, and retention indices, among which 247 compounds were positively verified by authentic standards. Esters were present in higher numbers (179), followed by aldehydes and ketones (111), and alcohols (81). In addition, there were also many terpenes (82), sulfides (37), furans (29), nitrogenous compounds (29), lactones (17), and so on. Meanwhile, the extraction effects of volatile components from different sample pretreatment methods (headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), solid phase extraction (SPE), and stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE)) for HAB were also revealed. The results indicated that HS-SPME has a better extraction effect on easily volatile compounds, such as alcohols and sulfides, especially for terpenes. SPE was particularly beneficial for the analysis of nitrogen-containing compounds; SBSE showed medium extraction ability for most types of compounds and was more suitable for the target analysis of trace content substances. For full-maglev vertical superconducting gravity instruments, displacement control in the non-sensitive axis is a key technique to suppress cross-coupling noise in a dynamic environment. Motion decoupling of the test mass is crucial for the control design. In practice, when levitated, the test mass is always in tilt, and unknown parameters will be introduced to the scale factors of displacement detection, which makes motion decoupling work extremely difficult. This paper proposes a method for decoupling the translation and rotation of the test mass in the non-sensitive axis for full-maglev vertical superconducting gravity instruments. In the method, superconducting circuits at low temperature and adjustable gain amplifiers at room temperature are combined to measure the difference between the scale factors caused by the tilt of the test mass. With the measured difference of the scale factors, the translation and rotation are decoupled according to the theoretical model. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been widely used in photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production due to their favorable band structure and excellent light absorption. Due to the rapid recombination rate of charge carriers, however, their applications are mainly restricted. This study presents the design and development of two highly conjugated triazine-based COFs (TBP-COF and TTP-COF) and evaluates their photocatalytic H2O2 production performance. The nitrogen-rich structures and high degrees of conjugation of TBP-COF and TTP-COF facilitate improved light absorption, promote O2 adsorption, enhance their redox power, and enable the efficient separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers. There is thus an increase in the photocatalytic activity for the production of H2O2. When exposed to 10 W LED visible light irradiation at a wavelength of 420 nm, the pyridine-based TTP-COF produced 4244 μmol h−1 g−1 of H2O2 from pure water in the absence of a sacrificial agent. Compared to TBP-COF (1882 μmol h−1 g−1), which has a similar structure but lacks pyridine sites, TTP-COF demonstrated nearly 2.5 times greater efficiency. Ion Imprinting Technology (IIT) is an innovative technique that produces Ion-Imprinted polymers (IIPs) capable of selectively extracting ions. IIPs exhibit strong specificity, excellent stability, and high practicality. Due to their superior characteristics, the application of IIPs for lithium resource extraction has garnered significant attention. This paper discusses the following aspects based on existing conventional processes for lithium extraction and the latest research progress in lithium IIPs: (1) a detailed exposition of existing lithium extraction processes, including comparisons and summaries; (2) classification, comparison, and summarization of the latest lithium IIPs based on different material types and methods; (3) summarization of the applications of various lithium IIPs, along with a brief description of future directions in the development of lithium IIP applications. Three gossypol molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were prepared by bulk polymerization (MIP1), surface layer imprinting using silica gel as the support (MIP2), and the sol-gel process (MIP3). The as-prepared MIPs were characterized by SEM and nitrogen adsorption−desorption techniques to study the morphology structure. The adsorption experiments exhibited that MIP1 had adsorption capacity as high as 564 mg·g−1. The MIP2 showed faster adsorption kinetics than MIP1 and MIP3. The adsorption equilibrium could be reached for gossypol in 40 min. A selectivity study showed that the adsorption capacity of MIPs for gossypol was about 1.9 times higher than that of the structurally-similar analogs ellagic acid and 6.6 times higher than that of the quercetin. It was found that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model were more applicable for the adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm of gossypol binding onto the MIP1 and MIP2, respectively. The stability of gossypol was investigated by the spectroscopic method. Gossypol was dissolved in three different solvents (CHCl3, DMSO, and CH3OH) under different storage conditions (dark and with nitrogen protection, natural light and with nitrogen protection, ambient air conditions) for different time intervals (0 days, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, and 45 days) at room temperature. Then, the stability of gossypol was investigated by 1H NMR, UV-vis, and HPLC-QTOF-MS spectrometry. Results showed that gossypol existed in aldehyde–aldehyde form in chloroform within five days. Then, both aldehyde–aldehyde and lactol–lactol tautomeric forms existed and maintained a stable solution for 45 days. Gossypol dissolved in methanol mainly existed in aldehyde–aldehyde form. Only a tiny amount of lactol–lactol was found in freshly prepared methanol solution. Gossypol was found to only exist in lactol–lactol form between 30–45 days. Gossypol existed in aldehyde–aldehyde, lactol–lactol, and ketol–ketol forms in dimethyl sulfoxide, and there was a competitive relationship between aldehyde–aldehyde and lactol–lactol form during the 45 days. Among all the solvents and conditions studied, gossypol was found to be highly stable in chloroform. Under the tested conditions, the natural light and atmospheric oxygen had little effect on its stability. Although the spectroscopy data seemed to be changed over time in the three different solvents, it was actually due to the tautomeric transformation rather than molecular decomposition. Uyghur is a morphologically rich and typical agglutinating language, and morphological segmentation affects the performance of Uyghur named-entity recognition (NER). Common Uyghur NER systems use the word sequence as input and rely heavily on feature engineering. However, semantic information cannot be fully learned and will easily suffer from data sparsity arising from morphological processes when only the word sequence is considered. To solve this problem, we provide a neural network architecture employing subword embedding with character embedding based on a bidirectional long short-term memory network with a conditional random field layer. Our experiments show that subword embedding can effectively enhance the performance of the Uyghur NER, and the proposed method outperforms the model-based word sequence method. Graph kernels are of vital importance in the field of graph comparison and classification. However, how to compare and evaluate graph kernels and how to choose an optimal kernel for a practical classification problem remain open problems. In this paper, a comprehensive evaluation framework of graph kernels is proposed for unattributed graph classification. According to the kernel design methods, the whole graph kernel family can be categorized in five different dimensions, and then several representative graph kernels are chosen from these categories to perform the evaluation. With plenty of real-world and synthetic datasets, kernels are compared by many criteria such as classification accuracy, F1 score, runtime cost, scalability and applicability. Finally, quantitative conclusions are discussed based on the analyses of the extensive experimental results. The main contribution of this paper is that a comprehensive evaluation framework of graph kernels is proposed, which is significant for graph-classification applications and the future kernel research. The authors recently developed a two-dimensional (2D) holographic electromagnetic induction imaging (HEI) for biomedical imaging applications. However, this method was unable to detect small inclusions accurately. For example, only one of two inclusions can be detected in the reconstructed image if the two inclusions were located at the same XY plane but in different Z-directions. This paper provides a theoretical framework of three-dimensional (3D) HEI to accurately and effectively detect inclusions embedded in a biological object. A numerical system, including a realistic head phantom, a 16-element excitation sensor array, a 16-element receiving sensor array, and image processing model has been developed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method for detecting small stroke. The achieved 3D HEI images have been compared with 2D HEI images. Simulation results show that the 3D HEI method can accurately and effectively identify small inclusions even when two inclusions are located at the same XY plane but in different Z-directions. Pathological changes in biological tissue are related to the changes in mechanical properties of biological tissue. Conventional medical screening tools such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography have failed to produce the elastic properties of biological tissues directly. Ultrasound elasticity imaging (UEI) has been proposed as a promising imaging tool to map the elastic parameters of soft tissues for the clinical diagnosis of various diseases include prostate, liver, breast, and thyroid gland. Existing UEI-based approaches can be classified into three groups: internal physiologic excitation, external excitation, and acoustic radiation force (ARF) excitation methods. Among these methods, ARF has become one of the most popular techniques for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of disease. This paper provides comprehensive information on the recently developed ARF-based UEI techniques and instruments for biomedical applications. The mechanical properties of soft tissue, ARF and displacement estimation methods, working principle and implementation instruments for each ARF-based UEI method are discussed. The influence of various silica gel supports with different shapes and sizes on the recognition properties of surface molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) was investigated. MIPs for selective recognition and adsorption of gossypol were synthesized via the sol–gel process with a surface imprinting technique on silica gel substrates. 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) were chosen as the functional monomer and the cross-linker. The morphology and structure of the gossypol-MIPs were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and a standard Brunauer–Emett–Teller (BET) analysis. Results indicated that the surface imprinted polymer layer facilitated the removal and rebinding of the template, and thus, achieved fast binding kinetics. Compared with the MIPs prepared on irregularly shaped silica with a broad particle size distribution, the MIPs using regularly-shaped silica of uniform size showed higher imprinting factor (IF), and the MIP made with a relatively larger sized (60 μm) spherical silica, demonstrated higher adsorption capacity compared to the MIPs made with smaller sized, spherical silica. The MIP prepared with 60 μm spherically shaped silica, featured a fast adsorption kinetic of 10 min, and a saturated adsorption capacity of 204 mg·g−1. The gossypol-MIP had higher selectivity (IF = 2.20) for gossypol over its structurally-similar analogs ellagic acid (IF = 1.13) and quercetin (IF = 1.20). The adsorption data of the MIP correlated well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model, which implied that chemical adsorption dominated, and that multilayer adsorption occurred. Furthermore, the MIP exhibited an excellent regeneration performance, and the adsorption capacity of the MIP for gossypol only decreased by 6% after six reused cycles, indicating good application potential for selective adsorption of gossypol. Thymidylate synthase (TYMS) is an essential enzyme for the de novo synthesis of deoxythymidine monophosphate (dTMP) and has been a primary target for cancer chemotherapy. Although the physical structure of TYMS and the molecular mechanisms of TYMS catalyzing the conversion of deoxyuridine monophosphate (dUMP) to dTMP have been the subject of thorough studies, its oligomeric structure remains unclear. Here, we show that human TYMS not only exists in dimer form but also as an octamer by intermolecular Cys43-disulfide formation. We optimized the expression conditions of recombinant human TYMS using the Escherichia coli system. Using high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS/MS), we have shown that purified TYMS has catalytic activity for producing dTMP. In the absence of reductant β-mercaptoethanol, SDS-PAGE and size exclusion chromatography (SEC) showed that the size of the TYMS protein is about 35 kDa, 70 kDa, and 280 kDa. When the Cys43 was mutated to Gly, the band of ~280 kDa and the peak of the octamer disappeared. Therefore, TYMS was determined to form an octamer, depending on the presence of Cys43-disulfide. By measuring steady-state parameters for the monomer, dimer, and octamer, we found the kcat of the octamer was increased slightly more than the monomer. Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hook.) stands as one of the pivotal afforestation tree species and timber resources in southern China. Nevertheless, the occurrence of seed abortion and a notably high proportion of astringent seeds significantly curtail the yield and quality of elite seeds, resulting in substantial economic losses. The development of astringent seeds is accompanied by significant physiological and biochemical alterations. Here, the first combined lipidomic and metabolomic analysis was performed to gain a comprehensive understanding of astringent seed traits. A total of 744 metabolites and 616 lipids were detected, of which 489 differential metabolites and 101 differential lipids were identified. In astringent seeds, most flavonoids and tannins, as well as proline and γ-aminobutyric acid, were more accumulated, along with a notable decrease in lipid unsaturation, indicating oxidative stress in the cells of astringent seeds. Conversely, numerous elemental metabolites were less accumulated, including amino acids and their derivatives, saccharides and alcohols, organic acids and nucleotides and their derivatives. Meanwhile, most lipid subclasses, mainly associated with energy storage (triglyceride and diglyceride) and cell membrane composition (phosphatidic acid, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine), also exhibited significant reductions. These results reflected a disruption in the cellular system or the occurrence of cell death, causing a reduction in viable cells within astringent seeds. Furthermore, only one lipid subclass, sphingosine phosphate (SoP), was more accumulated in astringent seeds. Additionally, lower accumulation of indole-3-acetic acid and more accumulation of salicylic acid (SA) were also identified in astringent seeds. Both SA and SoP were closely associated with the promotion of programmed cell death in astringent seeds. Collectively, our study revealed significant abnormal changes in phytohormones, lipids and various metabolites in astringent seeds, allowing us to propose a model for the development of astringent seeds in Chinese fir based on existing research and our findings. A periodic pigging operation performed to clean off sediment and provide operators with detailed health information for a pipeline is mandatorily required. The research on pigging-induced issues for the steel catenary riser (SCR), one of the key parts in offshore hydrocarbon recovery pipelines between the floating production system and the seabed, has been scarce until now. As a result, there is an urgent need for theories to guide the pigging operation to ensure safe pigging is achieved in deepwater risers. In this paper, a study aiming to determine the effects of the pigging impact load and the pigging-induced slugging load on the dynamic response of the riser is reported. A SCR pigging model was established and proposed based on the finite element analysis (FEA) method. The stress distribution and displacement of the SCR were investigated under the pigging conditions, with the consideration of the effects of waves, currents, and floating platform movements. It was found that the pigging load has large effects on the stress and displacement of the touchdown zone (TDZ), especially the touchdown point (TDP). The displacement of the TDZ in the Y (vertical) direction is more significant than that in the X (horizontal) direction under pigging conditions, and the maximum displacement of the TDZ in the Y direction is proportional to the weight of the pig, as well as the length of the pigging-induced slugging. Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is a nutritious crop that can provide both oil and protein. A variety of mutagenesis methods have been proposed to obtain better soybean germplasm resources. Among the different types of physical mutagens, carbon-ion beams are considered to be highly efficient with high linear energy transfer (LET), and gamma rays have also been widely used for mutation breeding. However, systematic knowledge of the mutagenic effects of these two mutagens during development and on phenotypic and genomic mutations has not yet been elucidated in soybean. To this end, dry seeds of Williams 82 soybean were irradiated with a carbon-ion beam and gamma rays. The biological effects of the M1 generation included changes in survival rate, yield and fertility. Compared with gamma rays, the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of the carbon-ion beams was between 2.5 and 3.0. Furthermore, the optimal dose for soybean was determined to be 101 Gy to 115 Gy when using the carbon-ion beam, and it was 263 Gy to 343 Gy when using gamma rays. A total of 325 screened mutant families were detected from out of 2000 M2 families using the carbon-ion beam, and 336 screened mutant families were found using gamma rays. Regarding the screened phenotypic M2 mutations, the proportion of low-frequency phenotypic mutations was 23.4% when using a carbon ion beam, and the proportion was 9.8% when using gamma rays. Low-frequency phenotypic mutations were easily obtained with the carbon-ion beam. After screening the mutations from the M2 generation, their stability was verified, and the genome mutation spectrum of M3 was systemically profiled. A variety of mutations, including single-base substitutions (SBSs), insertion–deletion mutations (INDELs), multinucleotide variants (MNVs) and structural variants (SVs) were detected with both carbon-ion beam irradiation and gamma-ray irradiation. Overall, 1988 homozygous mutations and 9695 homozygous + heterozygous genotype mutations were detected when using the carbon-ion beam. Additionally, 5279 homozygous mutations and 14,243 homozygous + heterozygous genotype mutations were detected when using gamma rays. The carbon-ion beam, which resulted in low levels of background mutations, has the potential to alleviate the problems caused by linkage drag in soybean mutation breeding. Regarding the genomic mutations, when using the carbon-ion beam, the proportion of homozygous-genotype SVs was 0.45%, and that of homozygous + heterozygous-genotype SVs was 6.27%; meanwhile, the proportions were 0.04% and 4.04% when using gamma rays. A higher proportion of SVs were detected when using the carbon ion beam. The gene effects of missense mutations were greater under carbon-ion beam irradiation, and the gene effects of nonsense mutations were greater under gamma-ray irradiation, which meant that the changes in the amino acid sequences were different between the carbon-ion beam and gamma rays. Taken together, our results demonstrate that both carbon-ion beam and gamma rays are effective techniques for rapid mutation breeding in soybean. If one would like to obtain mutations with a low-frequency phenotype, low levels of background genomic mutations and mutations with a higher proportion of SVs, carbon-ion beams are the best choice. Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are self-configuring networks of wireless nodes, i.e., mobile devices. Since communications in MANETs occur via wireless channels, it is of significance to secure communications among wireless and mobile nodes. Group key management, as a widely used method for securing group communications, has potentially been used in MANETs for years. Most recently, a secure receiver-unrestricted group key management scheme for MANETs has been proposed, which is used to establish a secure channel among a group of wireless nodes without a trusted dealer, which has some advantages such as eliminating the certificate management problem and receiver restriction. However, a formal security analysis of this scheme is still lacking. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the complete security proof to demonstrate that the scheme satisfies the essential security properties including authentication, message confidentiality, known-key security and dynamic secrecy. Butanol dehydrogenase (BDH) plays a significant role in the biosynthesis of butanol in bacteria by catalyzing butanal conversion to butanol at the expense of the NAD(P)H cofactor. BDH is an attractive enzyme for industrial application in butanol production; however, its molecular function remains largely uncharacterized. In this study, we found that Fusobacterium nucleatum YqdH (FnYqdH) converts aldehyde into alcohol by utilizing NAD(P)H, with broad substrate specificity toward aldehydes but not alcohols. An in vitro metal ion substitution experiment showed that FnYqdH has higher enzyme activity in the presence of Co2+. Crystal structures of FnYqdH, in its apo and complexed forms (with NAD and Co2+), were determined at 1.98 and 2.72 Å resolution, respectively. The crystal structure of apo- and cofactor-binding states of FnYqdH showed an open conformation between the nucleotide binding and catalytic domain. Key residues involved in the catalytic and cofactor-binding sites of FnYqdH were identified by mutagenesis and microscale thermophoresis assays. The structural conformation and preferred optimal metal ion of FnYqdH differed from that of TmBDH (homolog protein of FnYqdH). Fusobacterium nucleatum is a lesion-associated obligate anaerobic pathogen of destructive periodontal disease; it is also implicated in the progression and severity of colorectal cancer. Four genes (FN0625, FN1055, FN1220, and FN1419) of F. nucleatum are involved in producing hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which plays an essential role against oxidative stress. The molecular functions of Fn1419 are known, but their mechanisms remain unclear. We determined the crystal structure of Fn1419 at 2.5 Å, showing the unique conformation of the PLP-binding site when compared with L-methionine γ-lyase (MGL) proteins. Inhibitor screening for Fn1419 with L-cysteine showed that two natural compounds, gallic acid and dihydromyricetin, selectively inhibit the H2S production of Fn1419. The chemicals of gallic acid, dihydromyricetin, and its analogs containing trihydroxybenzene, were potentially responsible for the enzyme-inhibiting activity on Fn1419. Molecular docking and mutational analyses suggested that Gly112, Pro159, Val337, and Arg373 are involved in gallic acid binding and positioned close to the substrate and pyridoxal-5′-phosphate-binding site. Gallic acid has little effect on the other H2S-producing enzymes (Fn1220 and Fn1055). The SQUAMOSA promoter binding proteins (SBPs) gene family plays important roles in plant growth and development. The SBP gene family has been identified and reported in many species, but it has not been well studied in passion fruit. In this study, a total of 14 SBP genes were identified in passion fruit and named from PeSBP1 to PeSBP14 based on their chromosomal distribution. The phylogenetic tree, gene structure, conserved motifs, collinearity analysis, and expression patterns of the identified SBP members were analyzed. We classified the PeSBP genes into eight groups (I to VIII) according to the phylogenetic tree, gene structure, and conserved motifs. Synteny analysis found that 5 homologous gene pairs existed in PeSBP genes and 11 orthologous gene pairs existed between passion fruit and Arabidopsis. Synonymous nucleotide substitution analysis showed that the PeSBP genes were under strong negative selection. The expression pattern of PeSBP genes in seed, root, leaf, and flower showed that nine of the PeSBP genes displayed high expression in the leaf and the flower. The expression patterns of PeSBP3/6/8/9/10 were further detected by qRT-PCR. In addition, differences in the expression levels occurred for each gene in the different flower organs and at the different developmental stages. There were large differences among SBPs based on transcriptional levels under cold, heat, salt, and osmotic stress conditions. The prevalence of obesity has reached alarming levels, which is considered a major risk factor for several metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes (T2D), non-alcoholic fatty liver, atherosclerosis, and ischemic cardiovascular disease. Obesity-induced chronic, low-grade inflammation may lead to insulin resistance, and it is well-recognized that macrophages play a major role in such inflammation. In the current review, the molecular mechanisms underlying macrophages, low-grade tissue inflammation, insulin resistance, and T2D are described. Also, the role of macrophages in obesity-induced insulin resistance is presented, and therapeutic drugs and recent advances targeting macrophages for the treatment of T2D are introduced. Bismuth oxybromide (BiOBr) nanosheets were prepared by employing organic bromide sources. In the presence of organic bromide sources, the effects of different conditions on the band structure, shape, size, and light responses of BiOBr nanosheets were examined. The reaction conditions, including different types of organic bromide sources, solvent, concentration, temperature, and time, were examined regarding the formation of BiOBr nanosheets. Then, the photocatalytic performances of different BiOBr nanosheets were also examined. Especially, the BiOBr nanosheets obtained from the addition of over 2 mmol of tetramethyl ammonium bromide (TMAB) in mannitol or EG at a higher temperature and longer reaction time showed superior photocatalytic activity. The enhanced photocatalytic performance of bisphenol A over these BiOBr nanosheets was achieved within 50 min due to efficient charge transfer and separation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Proppant is an essential material in hydraulic fracturing, and it can support artificial fractures for a long time. However, few people have applied proppant and conductive materials in the in-situ modification of shale oil. Here, we developed a graphene and resin coated (GRC) proppant with electrically conductive properties. The electrical conductivity of the GRC proppant improved by four orders of magnitude. The GRC proppant has a 54.58% improvement in suspension and 22.75% increase in settlement time at 0.25 wt% concentration compared with uncoated proppant. The GRC proppant's adhesion reached 68.34 nN under 1 μN load force, increasing by 63.13% compared to uncoated proppant. This new electrically conductive proppant can be used as a conductive carrier to improve the efficiency of electric heating in in-situ modification technology of shale oil. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and synthetic chemicals targeting specific proteins or various molecular pathways for tumor suppression, such as ERK inhibitors and degraders, have been intensively investigated. The targets of ERK participate in the regulation of critical cellular mechanisms and underpin the progression of anticancer therapy. In this study, we identified a novel small molecule, which we named Z734, as a new mitogen–activated protein kinase 1 (ERK2) degrader and demonstrated that Z734 inhibits cell growth by inducing p53–mediated apoptotic pathways in human breast cancer cells. Treatment with Z734 resulted in the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation, colony formation and migration invasion, as well as cancer cell death via apoptosis. In addition, the Co–IP and GST pulldown assays indicated that the HECT and RLD domains containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 3 (HERC3) could directly interact with ERK2 through the HECT domain, promoting ERK2 ubiquitination. We also observed a strong link between HERC3 and p53 for the modulation of apoptosis. HERC3 can increase the protein and phosphorylation levels of p53, which further promotes apoptotic activity. In a xenograft mouse model, the effect was obtained in a treatment group that combined Z734 with lapatinib compared with that of the single–treatment groups. In summary, our results indicated that Z734 actively controls the development of breast cancer through apoptosis, and HERC3 may mediate ERK2 and p53 signaling, which offers new potential targets for clinical therapy.
