The article investigates the effects of different cropping rotations on soil moisture and economic benefit. Cabbage–maize–cabbage (CMC), beans–maize–cabbage (BMC), and cabbage–cabbage–cabbage (CCC) treatments were set up to study the effects of different crop rotation combinations on soil water storage, evapotranspiration (ET), water use efficiency (WUE), and economic benefit. The results showed that the average soil moisture content decreased initially and then increased with crop rotation, whereas it continued to decrease with continuous cabbage cropping as the crop grew. CMC reduced ET, whereas BMC increased ET from the nodulation to maturation stages of cabbage compared with CCC in the third experimental year. WUE of different crops showed that cabbage > maize > beans. The economic benefit of the CMC was higher than the other treatments in the third planting year. As there is a lack of public mark samples of Tibetan historical document image characters at present, this paper proposes an unsupervised Tibetan historical document character recognition method based on deep learning (UD-CNN). Firstly, using the Tibetan historical document character component, the Tibetan historical document character sample data set is constructed for model-aided training. Then, the character baseline information is introduced, and a fine-grained feature learning strategy is proposed. For the samples above and below the baseline, the Up-CNN recognition model and Down-CNN recognition model are established. The convolution neural network model is trained and optimized for the samples above and below the baseline, respectively, to improve the recognition accuracy. The experimental results show that the proposed method obviously affects the unmarked character classification and recognition of real Tibetan historical document images. The recognition rate of Top5 can reach 92.94%, and the recognition rate of Top1 can be increased from 82.25% to 87.27% using the CNN model only. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Acidification and heavy metal stress pose challenging threats to the terrestrial environment. This investigation endeavors to scrutinize the combined effects of vermicompost and steel slag, either singularly or in concert with Ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), on the remediation of acidic soil resulting from sulfide copper mining. The findings illuminate substantial ameliorations in soil attributes. The application of these amendments precipitates an elevation in soil pH of 1.39–3.08, an augmentation in organic matter of 4.05–8.65, a concomitant reduction in total Cu content of 43.2–44.7%, and a marked mitigation in Cu bioavailability of 64.2–80.3%. The pronounced reduction in soil Cu bioavailability within the steel slag treatment group (L2) is noteworthy. Characterization analyses of vermicompost and steel slag further elucidate their propensity for sequestering Cu2+ ions in the soil matrix. Concerning botanical analysis, the vermicompost treatment group (L1) significantly enhances soil fertility, culminating in the accumulation of 208.35 mg kg−1 of Cu in L. perenne stems and 1412.05 mg kg−1 in the roots. Additionally, the introduction of vermicompost and steel slag enriches soil OTU (Operational Taxonomic Units) quantity, thereby augmenting soil bacterial community diversity. Particularly noteworthy is the substantial augmentation observed in OTU quantities for the vermicompost treatment group (L1) and the combined vermicompost with steel slag treatment group (L3), exhibiting increments of 126.04% and 119.53% in comparison to the control (CK). In summation, the application of vermicompost and steel slag efficaciously diminishes the bioavailability of Cu in the soil, augments Cu accumulation in L. perenne, induces shifts in the soil microbial community structure, and amplifies soil bacterial diversity. The bent-blade cutter is widely used in machining typical deep-cavity parts such as turbine discs and disc shafts, but few scholars have studied the dynamics of the turning process. The existing mechanism of regenerative chatter in the metal-cutting process does not consider the influence of bending and torsional vibration, the change of tool profile and the complex machining geometry, so it cannot be directly used to reveal the underlying cause of the chatter phenomena in the deep inner cavity part turning process. This paper attempts to investigate the dynamic problem of the bent-blade cutter turning process. The dynamic model of a bent-blade cutter is proposed by considering the regenerative chatter effect. Based on the extended Timoshenko beam element (E-TBM) theory and finite element method (FEM), the coupling between the bending vibrations and the torsional vibrations, as well as the dynamic cutting forces, are modeled along the turning path. The vibration characteristics of the bending–torsion combination of cutter board and cutter bar, together with the dynamical governing equation, were analyzed theoretically. The chatter stability of a bent-blade cutter with a bending and torsion combination effect is predicted in the turning process. A series of turning experiments are carried out to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the presented model. Furthermore, the influence of cutting parameters on the cutting process is analyzed, and the results can be used to optimize the cutting parameters for suppressing machining vibration and improving machining process stability. To investigate the quantitative relationship between the volume capture of rainfall and carbon emissions from bioretention facilities, this study introduces the concept of the carbon intensity of volume capture of rainfall. The influence of four key factors—climatic conditions, aquifer height, permeability coefficient, and facility area—was investigated using a residential neighborhood in Tianshui, China, as an example. The results reveal that the carbon intensity value is influenced not only by external environmental changes but also by the inherent attributes of bioretention facilities, such as aquifer height, permeability coefficient, and facility area. The maximum carbon intensity value for the volume capture of rainfall was −0.0005 kg CO2/m3, while the minimum was −0.0852 kg CO2/m3, representing a substantial difference of approximately 169 times. Orthogonal experiments identified the facility area as the most significant influencing factor on carbon intensity, with a correlation coefficient of 0.0520. The area of bioretention facilities can be prioritized to meet deployment requirements, taking into account volume capture reduction effects and carbon emissions. For facilities with a high carbon intensity, an emphasis should be placed on enhancing carbon reduction benefits, and various initiatives can be implemented to achieve this goal. Abrupt climate events profoundly impact human societies, both environmentally and socially. However, existing research predominantly concentrates on immediate responses, overlooking long-term consequences. This study, centered on the Guojiazaoyuan site in the southern Loess Plateau, explores the enduring effects of a 5.3-ka BP climate event that transformed the local subsistence system. Through detailed analysis of archaeobotanical evidence, specifically floral remains dating to 4800–4300 BP obtained via flotation, significant post-event shifts in agricultural practices and food strategies are revealed. Notably, there is a clear prioritization of foxtail millet cultivation, a shift towards diversified food sources, and the introduction of new livestock. These changes represent strategic adaptations aimed at bolstering resilience and reducing vulnerability to future climatic challenges. The southern Loess Plateau developed an agricultural pattern with foxtail millet as the dominant crop, although different patterns were observed in surrounding regions during the early Longshan period (4800–4300 BP). Emphasizing the importance of a long-term perspective, particularly in agriculture and food security, the findings contribute to a broader understanding of how ancient societies coped with environmental changes. How to use nitrogen fertilizer is crucial for farmers in boosting crop yield and fostering sustainable agricultural development. We hypothesized that replacing the nitrogen (N) provided by mineral fertilizer with manure would enhance the soil water storage, increase water use efficiency (WUE), maintain maize yield, and improve economic benefits. We performed the experiment by replacing 0% (CK), 25% (M25), 50% (M50), 75% (M75), and 100% (M100) of mineral N fertilizer (225 kg ha–1) with an equivalent amount of N from manure during 2016–2019. M25 and M50 increased the soil water storage at 0–2 m depth after maize harvest, while M25 significantly decreased the evapotranspiration by 5.27–22.14% compared with CK. The replacement treatments significantly increased maize yield and WUE by 6.58–13.62% and 5.68–18.00%, respectively, during the fourth fertilization year. Meanwhile, the net benefits of the replacement treatments were significantly higher than that of CK in the year of higher precipitation and irrigation water. M75 significantly increased net benefits by 8.47–35.51% compared with CK. M75 had the highest comprehensive evaluation score. The neutral detergent fiber (NDF)/starch ratio is a key determinant of the carbohydrate composition in ruminant diets, which affects the development of the gastrointestinal tract and animal growth. In this study, we used a combination of 16S amplicon sequencing and metabolomics technologies to reveal changes in the microbiota and their metabolites associated with digestive matter in the colon of lambs between different starter NDF/starch ratios and before and after weaning. A total of 40 male lambs of Hu sheep with a newborn weight of 3.14 ± 0.05 kg were selected for the experiment and fed with breast milk until 10 days of age, and were randomly divided into 2 groups, which were fed ad libitum with a starter of NDF/starch of 0.5 (A) or 1.0 (B) for a period of 56 days, and then weaned off the milk powder at 35 days of age. Six lambs with weights close to the average weight of the group were selected for slaughter in each of the two groups before (35 days of age) and after weaning (56 days of age), and were accordingly named A35, A56, B35 and B56. The results showed that, before weaning, the concentrations of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and total volatile fatty acids (TVFA) in group B35 were significantly higher than those in group A35 (p < 0.05), while the concentrations of isobutyric acid, valeric acid and isovaleric acid were significantly lower than those in group A35 (p < 0.05). After weaning, the concentrations of all volatile acids and total acids in group B56 were significantly lower than those in group A56 (p < 0.01). At the phylum level, the dominant phyla identified were Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes; the relative abundances of Firmicutes and Desulfobacterota were significantly higher and lower in group B35 than in group A35, respectively (p < 0.05); the relative abundances of Euryarchaeota and Desulfobacterota were significantly higher and lower in group A56 than in group A35 (p < 0.05); and, at the genus level, the relative abundance of Lachnospiraceae_FCS020_group and Eubacterium nodatum group had higher relative abundance in group B35 before weaning (p < 0.05). Metabolomic results showed that feeding 1.0 NDF/starch ratio starter before weaning significantly up-regulated (p < 0.05) the concentrations of several anti-inflammatory-related metabolites such as lithocholic acid, oleanolic acid and LysoP. After weaning, the number of differential microorganisms and anti-inflammatory-related metabolites decreased between the two ratios. In summary, feeding a 1.0 NDF/starch ratio starter may be more effective in regulating microbial fermentation, leading to an increase in beneficial microbiota and metabolites, thus improving colonic environmental homeostasis in lambs before and after weaning. The long-term and excessive use of mineral fertilizers in a semi-arid region with severe water shortage will lead to soil compaction and poor water-holding capacity. The fertilization method of manure instead of mineral fertilizer has attracted wide attention. It has adverse consequences for the growth and development of crops. Hence, the objective of this study was to determine how replacing mineral fertilizer with manure affects the soil water retention curve, soil water constant, soil water availability, and soil equivalent pore size distribution, and to seek the best scheme of applying manure in semi-arid area and provide theoretical a basis for improving soil water retention capacity. Here, 0% (CK), 25% (M25), 50% (M50), 75% (M75), and 100% (M100) of 225 kg ha−1 nitrogen from mineral fertilizer were replaced with equivalent nitrogen from manure in the Loess Plateau of China under semi-arid conditions. The centrifuge method was used to determine the soil volumetric water content under different water suction levels, and the Gardner model was used to fit and draw its soil water retention curve, and then calculate the soil water constant and equivalent pore size distribution. The results showed that the Gardner model fitted well. The soil saturated water content with the M100 treatment was the highest, whereas the specific water capacity, water availability, and soil porosity with the M75 treatment were the highest. The soil saturated water content showed a downward trend with the increase in nitrogen from manure instead of nitrogen from mineral fertilizer in the partial replacement treatments. This downward trend slowed down over time. The M75 treatment increased field capacity. The M100 treatment increased soil capillary porosity, soil available water porosity, and soil water availability compared with CK from the fifth fertilization. Replacement treatments increased the specific water capacity, soil saturated water content, soil water availability, soil porosity, and reduced the wilting point over time. In the replacement treatments, specific soil water capacity, soil water availability, and soil porosity first rose and then declined with the increase in nitrogen provided by manure replacing that provided by mineral fertilizer. This study was performed to investigate a strategy to interpret the osmotic dehydration (OD) process through a focused exploration of osmotic pressure dynamics. The investigation first delved into the relationship between dehydration rate and the osmotic pressure difference between food and an osmotic solution. Apple slices was used as a model food material, and the OD process was conducted via sucrose, glucose, and maltose. The positive correlation between the osmotic pressure difference between food and osmotic solution and the dehydration rate suggested that this pressure difference served as the primary driving force for mass transfer within the OD process; for example, in 60% wt sucrose solution, the osmotic pressure of the solution decreased from 15.60 MPa to 12.98 MPa in the first 30 min, while the osmotic pressure of fresh apple slices increased from 1.49 MPa to 4.05 MPa; and this correlation between dehydration rate and osmotic pressure difference in product tissue and osmotic solution followed a linear relationship. Then, the study went further to investigate augmenting osmotic pressure of osmotic solution (sucrose and fructose) by adding auxiliary solutes (sodium chloride and calcium lactate). The results showcased that augmenting osmotic pressure within a sugar-based solution could be realized through the introduction of additive solutes, and what is more important is that this augmentation displayed a synergistic effect, which was more pronounced in solutions of lower sugar concentration. For example, the osmotic pressure of 45%wt fructose solution was 8.88 MPa, which could be increased to 10.05 MPa by adding 0.075% wt NaCl, while adding 0.075% wt NaCl to 59.14% wt fructose solution could increase osmotic pressure from 20.57 MPa to 21.22 MPa. The continuous cropping of cabbage or kidney bean results in a decrease in yield by influencing the soil environment. To decrease the damage caused by continuous cropping, ten treatments of cabbage–maize–cabbage (CMC), kidney bean–maize–cabbage (BMC), cabbage–cabbage–cabbage (CCC), cabbage–maize–kidney bean (CMB), kidney bean–maize–kidney bean (BMB), kidney bean–kidney bean–kidney bean (BBB), cabbage–cabbage–maize (CCM), cabbage–kidney bean–maize (CBM), kidney bean–kidney bean–maize (BBM) and kidney bean–cabbage–maize (BCM) rotation combinations were set up. The changes in soil nutrients, fungal community structure, composition and diversity in topsoil under the ten crop rotation combinations were analyzed using Illumina NovaSeq high-throughput sequencing technology and chemical technology. Fungal species were abundant in the ten treatments. The OTUs (operational taxonomic units) showed no significant differences. The richness index values of each treatment had significant differences. The diversity index value of the CCC treatment was significantly lower than those of the other treatments. The dominant soil fungal phylum was Ascomycota, and the subordinate soil fungal phylum was Basidiomycota. No significant differences were observed in Ascomycota between the treatments. Basidiomycota in the BBM treatment was significantly higher than that in the CCM treatment. Kickxellomycota was not found in the CCM and CCC treatments. The BBM treatment had no Entorrhizomycota. The dominant soil fungal class belonged to Ascomycota. The common distinction between continuous cropping and crop rotation was Diaporthales, which might be the main fungal order causing continuous cropping disorders. Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have obtained remarkable performance in skeleton-based action recognition. However, previous approaches fail to capture the implicit correlations between joints and handle actions across varying time intervals. To address these problems, we propose an adaptive multi-scale difference graph convolution Network (AMD-GCN), which comprises an adaptive spatial graph convolution module (ASGC) and a multi-scale temporal difference convolution module (MTDC). The first module is capable of acquiring data-dependent and channel-wise graphs that are adaptable to both samples and channels. The second module employs the multi-scale approach to model temporal information across a range of time scales. Additionally, the MTDC incorporates an attention-enhanced module and difference convolution to accentuate significant channels and enhance temporal features, respectively. Finally, we propose a multi-stream framework for integrating diverse skeletal modalities to achieve superior performance. Our AMD-GCN approach was extensively tested and proven to outperform the current state-of-the-art methods on three widely recognized benchmarks: the NTU-RGB+D, NTU-RGB+D 120, and Kinetics Skeleton datasets. The long-term extensive application of chemical fertilizers wreaks havoc on soil bacterial structure and function. To reduce the damage caused by chemical fertilizers, a six-year experiment was performed to study the effects of replacing 0% (CK), 25% (S25), 50% (S50), 75% (S75), and 100% (S100) of 225 kg ha−1 mineral nitrogen fertilizer with an equivalent amount of nitrogen from maize straw on the soil bacterial community structure, diversity, and function. The results showed that Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, and Gemmatimonadetes were the dominant soil bacterial phyla after the replacement treatments. Replacing mineral nitrogen fertilizer with an equivalent amount of nitrogen from maize straw significantly reduced the number of Photobacterium and bacterial populations involved in genetic information processing in soil, but significantly increased the number of bacterial populations involved in organismal systems, human diseases, and environmental information processing. Compared with other treatments, the relative abundance of TK10 significantly increased by 33.52–76.36% in S25. The number of subgroup 6, Gram-negative, biofilm-forming, potentially pathogenic, and anaerobic bacteria significantly increased, whereas that of Chloroflexi and Blastocatellia subgroup 4 significantly decreased in S50 and S75 compared with CK. The number of TK10 and Blastocatellia subgroup 4 in S50 and S100, respectively, was significantly lower than that in CK. Bacterial species were significantly more present in S25 than in S75. The diversity of bacterial species in S75 was significantly lower than that in CK. S25 and S100 were more favorable to increasing the number of Gram-positive, aerobic, mobile-element containing, and stress-tolerant bacteria. Rhodobacteraceae, Pyrinomonadaceae, Xanthobacteraceae, Nocardioidaceae, and Vulgatibacteraceae with statistical differences in CK, S25, S50, S75, and S100, respectively, could be used as biomarkers. Chloroflexi, Acidobacteria, and Nitrospirae could be used as the main basis for the bacterial classification of soil samples in the equivalent substitution of nitrogen chemical fertilizer with maize straw. Multi-person pose estimation generally follows top-down and bottom-up paradigms. The top-down paradigm detects all human boxes and then performs single-person pose estimation on each ROI. The bottom-up paradigm locates identity-free keypoints and then groups them into individuals. Both of them use an extra stage to build the relationship between human instance and corresponding keypoints (e.g., human detection in a top-down manner or a grouping process in a bottom-up manner). The extra stage leads to a high computation cost and a redundant two-stage pipeline. To address the above issue, we introduce a fine-grained body representation method. Concretely, the human body is divided into several local parts and each part is represented by an adaptive point. The novel body representation is able to sufficiently encode the diverse pose information and effectively model the relationship between human instance and corresponding keypoints in a single-forward pass. With the proposed body representation, we further introduce a compact single-stage multi-person pose regression network, called AdaptivePose++, which is the extended version of AAAI-22 paper AdaptivePose. During inference, our proposed network only needs a single-step decode operation to estimate the multi-person pose without complex post-processes and refinements. Without any bells and whistles, we achieve the most competitive performance on representative 2D pose estimation benchmarks MS COCO and CrowdPose in terms of accuracy and speed. In particular, AdaptivePose++ outperforms the state-of-the-art SWAHR-W48 and CenterGroup-W48 by 3.2 AP and 1.4 AP on COCO mini-val with faster inference speed. Heavy metal-rich acidic soils of copper sulfide mines can easily cause harm to the surrounding environment and ecosystem safety if not treated properly. Currently, the most common method of mine ecological remediation is to improve acidic soils of copper sulfide mines by adding different types of amendments. In this paper, different dosages of biochar and carbide slag applied singly and in combination were designed to investigate the changes of physicochemical properties and ryegrass growth in the acidic soil of copper sulfide mines. Through soil incubation experiments and potting tests, different treatments explored the improvement effect of carbide slag combined with biochar on the acidic soil of copper sulfide mines. Then, it was found that 2% (w/w) carbide slag in combination with 10% (w/w) biochar had the best effect on the improvement of copper-sulfide mine acidic soil. Among them, carbide slag significantly increased the pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC) and acid neutralization capacity (ANC), and reduced the electrical conductivity (EC), net acid generation (NAG) and sulfate ion (SO42−) concentrations in the acidic soil of copper sulfide mines; biochar obviously reduced the bio-effectiveness of heavy metals Cu, Pb and Zn, and DPTA-Cu, Pb and Zn decreased by 8~80%, 7~76% and 17~79%, respectively. Apart from that, there was a positive cooperativity between carbide slag and biochar, and their application effectively controlled the acidification process and heavy metal toxicity in the acidic soil of copper sulfide mines. In computer networks, Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) plays a very important role in identifying intrusion behaviors. NIDS can identify abnormal behaviors by analyzing network traffic. However, the performance of classifier is not very good in identifying abnormal traffic for minority classes. In order to improve the detection rate on class imbalanced dataset, we propose a network intrusion detection model based on two-layer CNN and Cluster-SMOTE + K-means algorithm (CSK-CNN) to process imbalanced dataset. CSK combines the cluster based Synthetic Minority Over Sampling Technique (Cluster-SMOTE) and K-means based under sampling algorithm. Through the two-layer network, abnormal traffic can not only be identified, but also be classified into specific attack types. This paper has been verified on UNSW-NB15 dataset and CICIDS2017 dataset, and the performance of the proposed model has been evaluated using such indicators as accuracy, recall, precision, F1-score, ROC curve, AUC value, training time and testing time. The experiment shows that the proposed CSK-CNN in this paper is obviously superior to other comparison algorithms in terms of network intrusion detection performance, and is suitable for deployment in the real network environment. In the present work, a new heterogeneous catalyst Pd-NHC@Eu-BCI was synthesized by introducing N-heterocyclic carbene–palladium active sites into a 2D coordination polymer [Eu(BCI)(NO3)2H2O]n (Eu-BCI) based on a 1,3-bis(carboxymethyl)imidazolium (HBCI) ligand. The catalyst was characterized by various analytical techniques such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Catalytic activity of Pd-NHC@Eu-BCI was tested for the Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction. Foam-filled honeycombs have been widely applied due to their excellent load transfer mitigation and energy absorption capacity. In the present study, a layered graded foam concrete-filled auxetic honeycomb was proposed by tuning its overall compression deformation mode to layer-by-layer deformation mode to realize multi-level structural protection. The effect of the honeycomb cell-wall thickness gradient (with an average thickness of 0.25 mm, thickness gradients of 0.30:0.25:0.20, 0.35:0.25:0.15 and 0.40:0.25:0.10, and corresponding positive gradients) and the foam concrete filler density gradient (408:575:848, 848:575:408) on the response mode, load transfer, energy absorption, and Poisson's ratio of the proposed composite was systematically investigated. The results showed that the graded composite exhibited an obvious layered deformation mode and a negative Poisson's ratio effect under relatively low and moderate loading rates (1 m/s, 10 m/s, respectively), especially with the foam concrete density gradient. Under a high loading rate (100 m/s), the graded composite demonstrated progressive collapse initiating from the loading end with a layer-by-layer crushing mode, regardless of the thickness and density gradient. In the response of the composite with a 0.2:0.2:0.2 thickness ratio and a 408:575:848 foam concrete gradient subjected to 1 m/s crushing, the first-layer, second-layer, and third-layer foam concrete absorbed 94.62%, 88.72%, and 86.94% of the total foam concrete energy absorption in the corresponding crushing stage, respectively. Compared with the counterpart homogeneous composites, although the graded composite had an insignificant improvement on energy absorption (less than 5%), it was able to significantly reduce the peak load (as high as 30%) to mitigate the load transfer to the protected structure. The effective Poisson's ratio of the first layer in the composite with positive gradient (408:575:848) increased to −2 then converged to −0.6 under 2 m/s and 10 m/s crushing, and ranged from −0.4 to −0.1 under 50 m/s and 100 m/s crushing, respectively. The effective Poisson's ratio of the middle and bottom layers increased to −2 initially and converged to range −0.4 to −0.1, regardless of the crushing speed. The staged response mode of the graded composite facilitated the realization of multi-level structure protection with significantly reduced peak load transferred to the protected structure and tuned energy absorption. Simple Summary: Although multiple actionable genes have been identified in melanoma, 38–42% of patients are still not druggable based on current research. In our study, DNA-NGS and RNA-NGS were utilized to construct molecular profiles of a Chinese cohort of 469 melanoma patients. Up to 11.7% (7/60) of patients in the undruggable group could be recognized as actionable by DNA and RNA sequential sequencing. Additionally, the use of RNA-NGS enhanced the proportion of druggable fusions from 2.56% to 17.27%. In total, the use of RNA-NGS increased the druggable proportion from 75% to 78%. It is particularly necessary to improve the research on the ecological roles of medium and small carnivores in the context of the massive decline in the number of large carnivores around the world. For this purpose, a study on the ecological roles of medium and small carnivores was conducted in Liancheng Reserve, China. On the basis of constructing a spatial association network of species, we analyzed the status of medium and small carnivores in the network, characterized their association, and assessed their contribution to the maintenance of the community in the absence of large carnivores, such as gray wolf (Canis lupus) and brown bear (Ursus arctos). Furthermore, the development trends of the community were predicted in order to act as a guide for the direction and focus of conservation efforts. It is vitally important to understand the ecological roles of medium and small carnivores in the context of the massive decline in the number of large carnivores around the world. Based on a spatial association network of terrestrial birds and mammals, this study analyzed the ecological roles of medium and small carnivores in the community in Liancheng National Nature Reserve. From October 2019 to June 2020, we obtained 3559 independent detections of 20 terrestrial birds and mammals from 112 camera traps. There are seven species that are medium and small carnivores present in the study area, including red fox (Vulpes vulpes), leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis), Chinese mountain cat (Felis bieti), stone marten (Martes foina), Asian badger (Meles leucurus), Siberian weasel (Mustela sibirica) and mountain weasel (Mustela altaica). By calculating the Phi coefficient of all species pairs, a spatial association network composed of twelve species was constructed. We analyzed the characterization of spatial associations by the Shannon–Wiener index and Lambda statistic. The results showed that: (1) the status of the network reflects the changes of community composition and structure after the decline in large carnivores and other species; (2) with the exception of the Chinese mountain cat and stone marten, the other five medium and small carnivores were located in the network, which played an important role in the complexity of the network and the maintenance of the community; (3) the medium and small carnivores could not take the place of the large carnivores in order to control the population of herbivores, such as Siberian roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) and Himalayan marmot (Marmota himalayana). Extreme rainfall may cause meteorological disasters and has tremendous impact on societies and economics. Assessing the capability of current dynamic models for rainfall prediction, especially extreme rainfall event prediction, at sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) scale and diagnosing the probable reasons are quite important topics in the current climate study field. This study analyzes the formation mechanisms of the extreme rainfall event during 18–22 July 2021 in Henan Province and introduces the Tanimoto Coefficient (TC) to evaluate the prediction performance of S2S models. The results show that confrontation between low-latitude typhoon "In-Fa" and subtropical highs leads to sufficient water vapor transporting to Henan, and that remarkable upward air motion causes strong convergence of water vapor, thereby providing atmospheric conditions for this extreme rainfall event. Furthermore, five S2S models showed limited capability in predicting this extreme rainfall event 20 days in advance with the TCs of four models being below 0.1. Models could capture this event signal 6 days ahead with most TCs above 0.2. The performances of model prediction for this extreme rainfall event were closely related to the fact that the water vapor convergence, vertical movements, relative vorticity, and geopotential height predicted by the NCEP model 20 days ahead were close to the actual situation, in contrast to the other four models 6 days in advance. This study implies that S2S model predictions for this extreme rainfall event show obvious differences, and the application of S2S models in the prediction of extreme events needs to fully consider their prediction uncertainties. The capability of the models to properly reproduce local water vapor convergence and vertical motions is also shown to be crucial for correctly simulating the extreme event, which might provide some hints for the further amelioration of models. Simple Summary: The birth-to-weaning period is critical for the development of digestibility and the intestinal microflora of lambs. This study aimed to analyze the developmental changes of the intestinal microflora and the host-apparent digestibility in this critical stage, and the interaction and causal relationship between them. The results showed that the fecal microbial diversity, and the abundance of some bacteria showed regular changes before lambs were 49 days old. Rapid changes in nutrient intake and digestibility are major factors that influence the fecal microbiota by affecting the composition of fermentable substrates in feces. Moreover, some bacteria were not affected by the fecal nutrient content, which is an important environmental factor, but were closely related to the lambs' nutrient-apparent digestibility. These bacteria might have a regulatory role in nutrient digestibility. Early mammal gut microorganism colonization affects host health, the feed conversion rate, and production performance. Herein, we explored how fecal microbiota develops and the interactions between microorganisms and nutrients. The lambs were separated from ewes at 7 days old, artificial feeding with milk replacer completely replaced lactation, and the starter diet was added. At 21 days old, the lambs were fed with complete starter and milk replacer was stopped. At day 7, 21, 35, and 49 after birth, fecal samples were collected. Then 16S rRNA gene sequencing in the fecal samples revealed that the alpha diversity increased significantly with age. Principal coordinates analysis showed clear clustering by age (p < 0.05). At the genus level, the relative abundance of 8 genera declined, 12 genera increased (p < 0.1), and 4 genera changed dramatically with age (p < 0.05). The apparent digestibility of dry matter, protein, fat, neutral detergent fiber, and acid detergent fiber significantly decreased by 21.77%, 23.15%, 23.62%, 19.38%, and 45.24%, respectively, from 7 to 35 days of age (p < 0.05), but not thereafter (p > 0.05). Fecal nutrient contents affected the abundance of bacterial genera (p < 0.05). Enterobacteriaceae_unclassified, Clostridium XlVb, Bifidobacterium, and other genera had no relationship with the fecal nutrient content; however, they were closely related to nutrient intake and digestibility, possibly promoting nutrient digestion. Time-varying dynamic behaviors are essential to investigate the stability in the thin-walled workpiece milling process, which is usually affected by material removal and position-dependent characteristics of the workpiece along with the tool feed direction. To predict the milling stability with position-dependent, thin-walled component multi-axis milling, an improved structural dynamic modification method with variable mass is proposed in the paper. Firstly, the extraction of multi-axis milling material and the removal process of thin-walled parts with a complex curved surface and variable thickness is completed with CAM software. Then, the material removal of one cutting path as a modification of the structure is divided into multi-cutting steps with equal length to obtain the corrected FRFs in the machining process on the basis of the extended Sherman-Morrison-Woodbury formula. Furthermore, the dynamic characteristics of the initial un-machined workpiece and final machined workpiece are calculated by both experimental modal analysis and FEM. Finally, the multi-axis milling stability is predicted using the extended numerical integrated method, and an aero-engine blade is used to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method for multi-axis milling molding parts. In this paper, we study the demand response of the thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) to control their set-point temperatures by considering the tradeoff between the electricity payment and TCL user's comfort preference. Based upon the dynamics of the TCLs, we set up the relationship between the set-point temperature and the energy demand. Then, we define a discomfort function with respect to the associated energy demand which represents the discomfort level of the set-point temperature. More specifically, the system is equipped with a coordinator named electric energy control center (EECC) which can buy energy resources from the electricity market and sell them to TCL users. Due to the interaction between EECC and TCL users, we formulate the specific energy trading process as a one-leader multiple-follower Stackelberg game. As the main contributions of this work, we show the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium for the underlying Stackelberg games, and develop a DR algorithm based on the so-called Backward Induction to achieve the equilibrium. Featured Application: Shape memory cellular alloy combines the merits of shape memory effect and exceptional energy absorption capacity, having potential applications in automobile and other industries by promoting multiple crushing mitigation capacity. Shape memory alloy can recover its original configuration, while lightweight foam can absorb a considerable amount of energy. It is desirable to test whether shape memory foam has merits in terms of both shape memory effect and exceptional energy absorption capacity. In the present study, shape memory NiTi foam is compressed quasi-statically and dynamically in order to investigate its response and failure pattern transition with an increasing loading rate. A universal testing machine is used in a quasi-static test, while the split Hopkinson pressure bar is employed in the dynamic test. It is observed that the NiTi foam fails differently: under a quasi-static load, small foam parts of various sizes fall off from the specimen fringe; meanwhile, under dynamic load, the foam fractures in the specimen center to split it into multiple pieces. The tree popularly known in Brazil as mulateiro or pau-mulato (Calycophyllum spruceanum (Benth.) K. Schum.) is deeply embedded in the herbal medicine of the Amazon region. Different preparations of the bark are claimed to have anti-aging, antioxidant, antimicrobial, emollient, wound healing, hemostatic, contraceptive, stimulant, and anti-diabetic properties. The current study aims to provide the first step towards a science-based evidence of the beneficial effects of C. spruceanum in the promotion of longevity and in the modulation of age-related markers. For this investigation, we used the model system Caenorhabditis elegans to evaluate in vivo antioxidant and anti-aging activity of a water extract from C. spruceanum. To chemically characterize the extract, HPLC MS (High Performance Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry)/MS analyses were performed. Five secondary metabolites were identified in the extract, namely gardenoside, 5-hydroxymorin, cyanidin, taxifolin, and 5-hydroxy-6-methoxycoumarin-7-glucoside. C. spruceanum extract was able to enhance stress resistance and to extend lifespan along with attenuation of aging-associated markers in C. elegans. The demonstrated bioactivities apparently depend on the DAF-16/FOXO pathway. Rapid and accurate detection can help optimize patient treatment and improve infection control against nosocomial carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPO). In this study, a total of 217 routine clinical isolates (Enterobacterales and A. baumannii), including 178 CPOs and 39 non-CPOs, were tested to evaluate the performance of six phenotypic carbapenemase detection and classification assays, i.e., BD Phoenix CPO detect panel, Rapidec Carba-NP, O.K.N detection kit, and three carbapenem inactivation methods (CIMs; mCIM, eCIM, sCIM). The overall detection sensitivity and specificity were 98.78% (95.21–99.79%) and 79.49% (63.06–90.13%), respectively, for the BD phoenix CPO P/N test; 91.93% (86.30–95.45%) and 100% (88.83–100%), respectively, for the Rapidec Carba-NP; 98.06% (94.00–99.50%) and 97.44% (84.92–99.87%), respectively, for mCIM; and 96.89% (92.52–98.85%) and 94.87% (81.37–99.11%), respectively, for sCIM. The classification sensitivity and specificity for the BD phoenix CPO Ambler test, the O.K.N detection kit, and the mCIM and eCIM were 56.71% (48.75–64.34%) and 94.87% (81.37–99.11%), 99.28% (95.43–99.96%) and 100% (88.83–100%), and 92.90% (87.35–96.23%) and 97.44% (84.92–99.87%), respectively. All detection assays were reliable in detecting carbapenemase. However, the Rapidec Carba-NP and mCIM were insufficient in detecting OXA-48-like enzymes. The BD phoenix CPO detect panel had a strong ability to detect carbapenemase but failed to classify 48/59 (81.36%) KPC, 8/52 (15.38%) NDM, 8/22 (36.36%) OXA-23-like, and 6/11 (54.55%) dual enzymes. The O.K.N detection kit accurately detected and differentiated KPC, NDM, and OXA-48-like enzymes existing alone or in combination. Human activity recognition (HAR) based on wearable sensors is a promising research direction. The resources of handheld terminals and wearable devices limit the performance of recognition and require lightweight architectures. With the development of deep learning, the neural architecture search (NAS) has emerged in an attempt to minimize human intervention. We propose an approach for using NAS to search for models suitable for HAR tasks, namely, HARNAS. The multi-objective search algorithm NSGA-II is used as the search strategy of HARNAS. To make a trade-off between the performance and computation speed of a model, the F1 score and the number of floating-point operations (FLOPs) are selected, resulting in a bi-objective problem. However, the computation speed of a model not only depends on the complexity, but is also related to the memory access cost (MAC). Therefore, we expand the bi-objective search to a tri-objective strategy. We use the Opportunity dataset as the basis for most experiments and also evaluate the portability of the model on the UniMiB-SHAR dataset. The experimental results show that HARNAS designed without manual adjustments can achieve better performance than the best model tweaked by humans. Information and communication technologies have essential impacts on people's life. The real time convenience of the internet greatly facilitates the information transmission and knowledge exchange of users. However, network intruders utilize some communication holes to complete malicious attacks. Some traditional machine learning (ML) methods based on business features and deep learning (DL) methods extracting features automatically are used to identify these malicious behaviors. However, these approaches tend to use only one type of data source, which can result in the loss of some features that can not be mined in the data. In order to address this problem and to improve the precision of malicious behavior detection, this paper proposed a one-dimensional (1D) convolution-based fusion model of packet capture files and business feature data for malicious network behavior detection. Fusion models improve the malicious behavior detection results compared with single ones in some available network traffic and Internet of things (IOT) datasets. The experiments also indicate that early data fusion, feature fusion and decision fusion are all effective in the model. Text, voice, images and videos can express some intentions and facts in daily life. By understanding these contents, people can identify and analyze some behaviors. This paper focuses on the commodity trade declaration process and identifies the commodity categories based on text information on customs declarations. Although the technology of text recognition is mature in many application fields, there are few studies on the classification and recognition of customs declaration goods. In this paper, we proposed a classification framework based on machine learning (ML) models for commodity trade declaration that reaches a high rate of accuracy. This paper also proposed a symmetrical decision fusion method for this task based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and transformer. The experimental results show that the fusion model can make up for the shortcomings of the two original models and some improvements have been made. In the two datasets used in this paper, the accuracy can reach 88% and 99%, respectively. This paper focuses on 6Dof object pose estimation from a single RGB image. We tackle this challenging problem with a two-stage optimization framework. More specifically, we first introduce a translation estimation module to provide an initial translation based on an estimated depth map. Then, a pose regression module combines the ROI (Region of Interest) and the original image to predict the rotation and refine the translation. Compared with previous end-to-end methods that directly predict rotations and translations, our method can utilize depth information as weak guidance and significantly reduce the searching space for the subsequent module. Furthermore, we design a new loss function function for symmetric objects, an approach that has handled such exceptionally difficult cases in prior works. Human activity recognition (HAR) is a popular and challenging research topic, driven by a variety of applications. More recently, with significant progress in the development of deep learning networks for classification tasks, many researchers have made use of such models to recognise human activities in a sensor-based manner, which have achieved good performance. However, sensor-based HAR still faces challenges; in particular, recognising similar activities that only have a different sequentiality and similarly classifying activities with large inter-personal variability. This means that some human activities have large intra-class scatter and small inter-class separation. To deal with this problem, we introduce a margin mechanism to enhance the discriminative power of deep learning networks. We modified four kinds of common neural networks with our margin mechanism to test the effectiveness of our proposed method. The experimental results demonstrate that the margin-based models outperform the unmodified models on the OPPORTUNITY, UniMiB-SHAR, and PAMAP2 datasets. Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP)-confined foam concrete can be applied in structure protection, e.g., as an impact barrier of bridge piers, in which it is used as the core of the composite impact barrier. Applying CFRP to the foam concrete exterior enhances both the CFRP and the foam concrete, leading to improved compressive performance due to their interaction. In the present study, the carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) confining effect on the response and energy absorption of foam concrete subjected to quasi-static and medium-strain-rate dynamic compression was experimentally investigated. The confinement by CFRP changed the response and failure mode of foam concrete specimens from shear in quasi-static load and splitting in dynamic load to crushing, resulting in a significant increase in the load bearing and energy absorption capacity. The composite consisting of CFRP and foam concrete was sensitive to strain rate. In particular, the CFRP–foam concrete interaction led to the remarkably improved resistance and energy absorption capacity of CFRP-confined specimens, which were significantly higher than the sum of those of standalone CFRP and foam concrete. Recently, the application of nano-cutting fluids has gained much attention in the machining of nickel-based super alloys due their good lubricating/cooling properties including thermal conductivity, viscosity, and tribological characteristics. In this study, a set of turning experiments on new nickel-based alloy i.e., Inconel-800 alloy, was performed to explore the characteristics of different nano-cutting fluids (aluminum oxide (Al2O3), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and graphite) under minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) conditions. The performance of each nano-cutting fluid was deliberated in terms of machining characteristics such as surface roughness, cutting forces, and tool wear. Further, the data generated through experiments were statistically examined through Box Cox transformation, normal probability plots, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests. Then, an in-depth analysis of each process parameter was conducted through line plots and the results were compared with the existing literature. In the end, the composite desirability approach (CDA) was successfully implemented to determine the ideal machining parameters under different nano-cutting cooling conditions. The results demonstrate that the MoS2 and graphite-based nanofluids give promising results at high cutting speed values, but the overall performance of graphite-based nanofluids is better in terms of good lubrication and cooling properties. It is worth mentioning that the presence of small quantities of graphite in vegetable oil significantly improves the machining characteristics of Inconel-800 alloy as compared with the two other nanofluids. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) plays a vital role in national productions with broad application. Herein, the production of MMA is realized by the improved eco-friendly direct methylation method using Aspen Plus software. Three novel kinds of energy-saving measures were proposed in this study, including the recycle streams of an aqueous solution, methacrolein (MAL), and methanol, the deployment of double-effect distillation instead of a normal one, and the design of a promising heat-exchange network. Moreover, MMA with a purity of 99.9% is obtained via the design of a MAL absorber column with an optimal stage number of 11 and a facile chloroform recovery process by using the RadFrac model. Endopleura uchi (Huber) Cuatrec (Humiriaceae), known as uxi or uxi-amarelo in Brazil, is an endemic tree of the Amazon forest. In traditional medicine, its stem bark is used to treat a variety of health disorders, including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, uterine inflammation, and gynecological infections. According to HPLC analysis, the main constituent of the bark extract is the polyphenol bergenin. In the current study, we demonstrate by in vitro and in vivo experiments the antioxidant potential of a water extract from the stem bark of E. uchi. When tested in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans, the extract enhanced stress resistance via the DAF-16/FOXO pathway. Additionally, the extract promoted an increase in the lifespan of the worms independent from caloric restriction. It also attenuated the age-related muscle function decline and formation of polyQ40 plaques, as a model for Huntington's disease. Thus, these data support anti-aging and anti-oxidant properties of E. uchi, which has not yet been described. Oscillations of periods with low and high temperatures during the Quaternary in the northern hemisphere have influenced the genetic composition of birds of the Palearctic. During the last glaciation, ending about 12,000 years ago, a wide area of the northern Palearctic was under lasting ice and, consequently, breeding sites for most bird species were not available. At the same time, a high diversity of habitats was accessible in the subtropical and tropical zones providing breeding grounds and refugia for birds. As a result of long-term climatic oscillations, the migration systems of birds developed. When populations of birds concentrated in refugia during ice ages, genetic differentiation and gene flow between populations from distinct areas was favored. In the present study, we explored the current genetic status of populations of the migratory European bee-eater. We included samples from the entire Palearctic-African distribution range and analyzed them via mitochondrial and nuclear DNA markers. DNA data indicated high genetic connectivity and panmixia between populations from Europe, Asia and Africa. Speciation of Merops apiaster started during the Pliocene around three million years ago (Mya), with the establishment of haplotype lineages dated to the Middle Pleistocene period circa 0.7 Mya. M. apiaster, which breed in Southern Africa are not distinguished from their European counterparts, indicating a recent separation event. The diversification process of the European bee-eater was influenced by climatic variation during the late Tertiary and Quaternary. Bee-eaters must have repeatedly retracted to refugia in the Mediterranean and subtropical Africa and Asia during ice ages and expanded northwards during warm periods. The rapid incorporation of wind power resources in electrical power networks has significantly increased the volatility of transmission systems due to the inherent uncertainty associated with wind power. This paper addresses this issue by proposing a transmission network expansion planning (TEP) model that integrates wind power resources, and that seeks to minimize the sum of investment costs and operation costs while accounting for the costs associated with the pollution emissions of generator infrastructure. Auxiliary relaxation variables are introduced to transform the established model into a mixed integer linear programming problem. Furthermore, the novel concept of extreme wind power scenarios is defined, theoretically justified, and then employed to establish a two-stage robust TEP method. The decision-making variables of prospective transmission lines are determined in the first stage, so as to ensure that the operating variables in the second stage can adapt to wind power fluctuations. A Benders’ decomposition algorithm is developed to solve the proposed two-stage model. Finally, extensive numerical studies are conducted with Garver’s 6-bus system, a modified IEEE RTS79 system and IEEE 118-bus system, and the computational results demonstrate the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method. Background: In contrast to Caucasian melanoma, which has been extensively studied, there are few studies on melanoma in Asian populations. Sporadic studies reported that only 40% of Asian melanoma patients could be druggable, which was much lower than that in Caucasians. More studies are required to refine this conclusion., Methods: Chinese melanoma patients ( n = 469) were sequentially sequenced by DNA-NGS and RNA-NGS. The genomic alterations were determined, and potentially actionable targets were investigated., Results: Patients with potential druggable targets were identified in 75% of Chinese melanoma patients by DNA-NGS based on OncoKB, which was much higher than in a previous Asian study. NRG1 fusions were first identified in melanoma. In addition, up to 11.7% (7/60) of patients in the undruggable group could be recognized as actionable by including RNA-NGS analysis. By comparing the fusion detection rate between DNA-NGS and RNA-NGS, all available samples after DNA-NGS detection were further verified by RNA-NGS. The use of RNA-NGS enhanced the proportion of druggable fusions from 2.56% to 17.27%. In total, the use of RNA-NGS increased the druggable proportion from 75% to 78%., Conclusions: In this study, we systemically analyzed the actionable landscape of melanoma in the largest Asian cohort. Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP)-confined foam concrete can be applied in structure protection, e.g., as an impact barrier of bridge piers, in which it is used as the core of the composite impact barrier. Applying CFRP to the foam concrete exterior enhances both the CFRP and the foam concrete, leading to improved compressive performance due to their interaction. In the present study, the carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) confining effect on the response and energy absorption of foam concrete subjected to quasi-static and medium-strain-rate dynamic compression was experimentally investigated. The confinement by CFRP changed the response and failure mode of foam concrete specimens from shear in quasi-static load and splitting in dynamic load to crushing, resulting in a significant increase in the load bearing and energy absorption capacity. The composite consisting of CFRP and foam concrete was sensitive to strain rate. In particular, the CFRP-foam concrete interaction led to the remarkably improved resistance and energy absorption capacity of CFRP-confined specimens, which were significantly higher than the sum of those of standalone CFRP and foam concrete., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflicts of interest.

A new schiartane-type nortriterpenoid, micrandilactone H was isolated from Kadsura longipedunculata Finet et Gagnep. Its 2D (two dimension) structure was elucidated by NMR spectroscopic analysis, and it is similar to that of Kadnanolactones H and the absolute configuration was established through X-ray diffraction and ECD data analysis. This represents the first complete assignment of the absolute configuration of a schiartane-type nortriterpenoid by X-ray diffraction and the ECD method. Micrandilactone H showed moderate hepatoprotective activity against N -acetyl- p -aminophenol (APAP)-induced toxicity in HepG2 cells with cell survival rates of 56.84% at 10 μM.

A hydrophilic, hydrostable porous metal organic framework (MOF) material-MIL-101 (Cr) was successfully doped into the dense selective polyamide (PA) layer on the polysulfone (PS) ultrafiltration (UF) support to prepare a new thin film nanocomposite (TFN) membrane for water desalination. The TFN-MIL-101 (Cr) membranes were characterized by SEM, AFM, XPS, wettability measurement and reverse osmosis (RO) test. The porous structures of MIL-101 (Cr) can establish direct water channels in the dense selective PA layer for water molecules to transport through quickly, leading to the increasing water permeance of membranes. With good compatibility between MIL-101 (Cr) nanoparticles and the PA layer, the lab made TFN-MIL-101 (Cr) membranes integrated tightly and showed a high NaCl salt rejection. MIL-101 (Cr) nanoparticles increased water permeance to 2.2 L/m²·h·bar at 0.05 w/v % concentration, 44% higher than the undoped PA membranes; meanwhile, the NaCl rejection remained higher than 99%. This study experimentally verified the potential use of MIL-101 (Cr) in advanced TFN RO membranes, which can be used in the diversified water purification field.

Alkaloids, the largest group among the nitrogen-containing secondary metabolites of plants, usually interact with several molecular targets. In this study, we provide evidence that six cytotoxic alkaloids (sanguinarine, chelerythrine, chelidonine, noscapine, protopine, homoharringtonine), which are known to affect neuroreceptors, protein biosynthesis and nucleic acids, also interact with the cellular cytoskeleton, such as microtubules and actin filaments, as well. Sanguinarine, chelerythrine and chelidonine depolymerized the microtubule network in living cancer cells (Hela cells and human osteosarcoma U2OS cells) and inhibited tubulin polymerization in vitro with IC50 values of 48.41 ± 3.73, 206.39 ± 4.20 and 34.51 ± 9.47 μM, respectively. However, sanguinarine and chelerythrine did not arrest the cell cycle while 2.5 μM chelidonine arrested the cell cycle in the G₂/M phase with 88.27% ± 0.99% of the cells in this phase. Noscapine and protopine apparently affected microtubule structures in living cells without affecting tubulin polymerization in vitro, which led to cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase, promoting this cell population to 73.42% ± 8.31% and 54.35% ± 11.26% at a concentration of 80 μM and 250.9 μM, respectively. Homoharringtonine did not show any effects on microtubules and cell cycle, while the known microtubule-stabilizing agent paclitaxel was found to inhibit tubulin polymerization in the presence of MAPs in vitro with an IC50 value of 38.19 ± 3.33 μM. Concerning actin filaments, sanguinarine, chelerythrine and chelidonine exhibited a certain effect on the cellular actin filament network by reducing the mass of actin filaments. The interactions of these cytotoxic alkaloids with microtubules and actin filaments present new insights into their molecular modes of action.
