Currently, the construction and operation of buildings are responsible for 36% of global final energy usage and nearly 40% of energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. From the perspective of sustainable development, and taking into account economy and thermal comfort, it is crucial to consider the influence of multi-objective realization on design parameters. In this paper, high-rise residential buildings in the cities of Xi'an and Yulin, which have differences in solar radiation, in the western solar enrichment area of China are taken as the research objects. The four objectives of building energy consumption, thermal comfort, life-cycle cost, and life-cycle carbon emissions are weighed using the SPEA-2 algorithm by adjusting eleven design variables, thereby obtaining the Pareto non-dominated solutions. The TOPSIS method is applied to obtain the suitable parameter combinations under different scenarios. The results show that the differences in climate and solar radiation influence the solution distribution, the range of objective function values, and the values of the design variables in Pareto non-dominated solutions. The obtained optimal scheme for the Xi'an area has an energy-saving rate of 61.7%, a TDHP improvement rate of 20.3%, an LCC of 254.8 CNY/m2, and an LCCO2 of 72.3 kgCO2/m2. The corresponding values in the Yulin area are 69.7%, 19.4%, 230.2 CNY/m2, and 0 kgCO2/m2. This reflects the potential of solar energy utilization to reduce buildings' energy consumption and carbon emissions. Gravity measurements have important applications in geophysics, resource exploration, geodesy, and inertial navigation. The range of classical gravimetry includes laser interferometer (LI)-based absolute gravimeters, spring relative gravimeters, superconducting gravimeters, airborne/marine gravimeters, micro-electromechanical-system (MEMS) gravimeters, as well as gravity satellites and satellite altimetry. Atomic gravimetry is a new absolute gravity measurement technology based on atom interferometers (AIs) and features zero drift, long-term stability, long-term continuous measurements, and high precision. Atomic gravimetry has been used to measure static, marine, and airborne gravity; gravity gradient; as well as acceleration to test the weak equivalence principle at the China Space Station. In this paper, classical gravimetry is introduced, and the research progress on static and airborne/marine atomic gravimeters, space AIs, and atomic gravity gradiometers is reviewed. In addition, classical and atomic gravimetry are compared. Future atomic gravimetry development trends are also discussed with the aim of jointly promoting the further development of gravity measurement technologies alongside classical gravimetry. To conveniently implement the online detection of grain moisture in combined harvesters and the address the influence of the no-load measurement baseline, thereby enhancing detection accuracy and measurement continuity, this study developed a differential grain moisture detection device. For its convenient installation and integration on combined harvesters, a single-pole plate measurement element with a 1.6 mm thick epoxy resin coated with a 2-ounce copper film was designed, and a grain moisture detection device was constructed based on the STM32F103 microprocessor (STMicroelectronics International NV, Geneva, Switzerland). To enhance the device's interference resistance, a differential amplification measurement circuit integrated with high-frequency excitation was designed using a reference capacitance. To improve the resolution of the measurement circuit, Malab simulations were conducted at different excitation frequencies, ultimately selecting 30 kHz as the system's excitation signal frequency. To validate the effectiveness of the measurement circuit, validity tests were performed on the constructed sensor, which showed that the sensor's measurement voltage could effectively distinguish the moisture levels in grains, with a determination coefficient (R²) reaching 0.9978. To address the errors in moisture measurement caused by changes in grain temperature, an interaction experiment of the effect of moisture content and temperature on the measurement voltage was conducted using an integrated temperature sensor, resulting in the construction of a moisture content calculation model. Both the indoor static detection and field testing of the moisture detection device were conducted, indicating that the maximum average error in static measurements was 0.3%, with a maximum relative error of 0.47%, and the average relative error in field tests was ≤0.4%. Information transmission plays a crucial role across various fields, including physics, engineering, biology, and society. The efficiency of this transmission is quantified by mutual information and its associated information capacity. While studies in closed systems have yielded significant progress, understanding the impact of non-equilibrium effects on open systems remains a challenge. These effects, characterized by the exchange of energy, information, and materials with the external environment, can influence both mutual information and information capacity. Here, we delve into this challenge by exploring non-equilibrium effects using the memoryless channel model, a cornerstone of information channel coding theories and methodology development. Our findings reveal that mutual information exhibits a convex relationship with non-equilibriumness, quantified by the non-equilibrium strength in transmission probabilities. Notably, channel information capacity is enhanced by non-equilibrium effects. Furthermore, we demonstrate that non-equilibrium thermodynamic cost, characterized by the entropy production rate, can actually improve both mutual information and information channel capacity, leading to a boost in overall information transmission efficiency. Transcription factors (TFs) are crucial in modulating gene expression and sculpting cellular and organismal phenotypes. The identification of TF–target gene interactions is pivotal for comprehending molecular pathways and disease etiologies but has been hindered by the demanding nature of traditional experimental approaches. This paper introduces a novel web application and package utilizing the R program, which predicts TF–target gene relationships and vice versa. Our application integrates the predictive power of various bioinformatic tools, leveraging their combined strengths to provide robust predictions. It merges databases for enhanced precision, incorporates gene expression correlation for accuracy, and employs pan-tissue correlation analysis for context-specific insights. The application also enables the integration of user data with established resources to analyze TF–target gene networks. Despite its current limitation to human data, it provides a platform to explore gene regulatory mechanisms comprehensively. This integrated, systematic approach offers researchers an invaluable tool for dissecting the complexities of gene regulation, with the potential for future expansions to include a broader range of species. The endmember spectrum method can improve image classification quality based on the spectral features of pure pixels in remote sensing images. The CART (Classification and Regression Tree) is a powerful machine learning algorithm that can also be used for remote sensing image classification. In this study, the Tamarix chinensis forest in the Changyi National Marine Ecological Special Reserve in Shandong Province was taken as the research object, and the endmember spectrum method and the CART decision tree method were used to compare and analyze the results of land-use/cover-type classification extraction. In the extraction process, the land use/cover types of the Tamarix forest in the study area were first divided into forested land types such as high-density forest land, medium-density forest land, and low-density forest land, as well as non-forested land types such as water bodies, roads, dams, buildings, and bare soil. Through analysis, the following conclusions could be drawn: while the overall forest cover of the Tamarix forest is high, there is still some room for further afforestation and ecological restoration in the protection area; from the results of land-use/cover extraction results based on the endmember spectrum method in the study area, it can be seen that this method has better results when extracting well-grown forested land, such as high-density Tamarix chinensis forests and medium-density Tamarix chinensis forests, and poorer results when extracting non-forested land, such as low-density tamarisk forests, roads, buildings, dams, and water bodies; from the results of land use/cover extraction based on a CART decision tree in the study area, it can be seen that this method is more effective when extracting non-forested land, such as roads, buildings, dams, and water bodies, but less effective when extracting forested land, such as high-density Tamarix chinensis forests, medium-density Tamarix chinensis forests, and low-density Tamarix chinensis forests. The relevant research results and conclusions of this study can provide some reference for the classification and extraction of large-scale shrub forest cover types based on remote sensing images. Hexafluoropropylene Oxide Dimer Acid (HFPO-DA or GenX) is a pervasive perfluorinated compound with scant understood toxic effects. Toxicological studies on GenX have been conducted using animal models. To research deeper into the potential toxicity of GenX in humans and animals, we undertook a comprehensive analysis of transcriptome datasets across different species. A rank-in approach was utilized to merge different transcriptome datasets, and machine learning algorithms were employed to identify key genetic mechanisms common among various species and humans. We identified seven genes—TTR, ATP6V1B1, EPHX1, ITIH3, ATXN10, UBXN1, and HPX—as potential variables for classification of GenX-exposed samples, and the seven genes were verified in separate datasets of human, mouse, and rat samples. Bioinformatic analysis of the gene dataset further revealed that mitochondrial function and metabolic processes may be modulated by GenX through these key genes. Our findings provide insights into the underlying genetic mechanisms and toxicological impacts of GenX exposure across different species and offer valuable references for future studies using animal models to examine human exposure to GenX. Temperature plays a critical role in the efficiency and stability of industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). This study focuses on the effects of temperature on activated sludge (AS) communities within the A2O process of 19 industrial WWTPs in the Yangtze River Delta, a key industrial region in China. The investigation aims to understand how temperature influences AS community composition, functional assembly, and carbon transformation processes, including CO2 emission potential. Our findings reveal that increased operating temperatures lead to a decrease in alpha diversity, simplifying community structure and increasing modularity. Dominant species become more prevalent, with significant decreases in the relative abundance of Chloroflexi and Actinobacteria, and increases in Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes. Moreover, higher temperatures enhance the overall carbon conversion potential of AS, particularly boosting CO2 absorption in anaerobic conditions as the potential for CO2 emission during glycolysis and TCA cycles grows and diminishes, respectively. The study highlights that temperature is a major factor affecting microbial community characteristics and CO2 fluxes, with more pronounced effects observed in anaerobic sludge. This study focuses on the synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) sensor tailored for the selective determination of 4,4′-oxydianiline (4,4′-ODA) in plastic products. Notably, by integrating the sensor matrix with pyrolyzed copper/carbon material derived from Cu-BTC MOF, a remarkable enhancement in electrochemical performance is achieved. The Cu-BTC material is grown successfully on the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and subjected to calcination at 800 °C, yielding a CNT/Cu/C composite. This composite exhibits an increased surface area and enhanced electron transfer capability, resulting in an improved current response. To augment the selective detection capability of the modified electrodes for 4,4′-ODA, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were incorporated onto the composite surface. The modified electrode (CNT-2/Cu/C/MIP/GCE) was synthesized using acrylamide (AM) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as dual-functional monomers with 4,4′-ODA as a template molecule via precipitation polymerization. The differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) current response to 4,4′-ODA showed a favorable linear relationship within the concentration range of (0.15–10 μM,10–100 μM), with a detection limit of 0.05 μM. Moreover, the CNT-2/Cu/C/MIP/GCE sensor demonstrates exceptional sensitivity, specificity, consistency, and durability. This study focuses on improving human thermal comfort in a high-temperature outdoor environment using vests with a radiative cooling coating. The effects of coating thickness on the radiative cooling performance were first evaluated, and an optimal thickness of 160 μm was achieved. Then, six subjects were recruited to evaluate the thermal comfort in two scenarios: wearing the vest with radiative cooling coatings, and wearing the standard vest. Compared with the standard vest, the coated vest decreases the maximum temperature at the vest inner surface and the outer surface by 5.54 °C and 4.37 °C, respectively. The results show that thermal comfort is improved by wearing radiative cooling vests. With an increase of wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT), the improving effects tend to decline. A significant improvement in human thermal comfort is observed at a WBGT of 26 °C. Specifically, the percentage of thermal sensation vote (TSV) wearing the cooling vest in the range of 0 to 1 increases from 29.2% to 66.7% compared with that of the untreated vest. The traditional blockchain deployment process is too complicated and has high technical requirements for blockchain deployers. Deploying a blockchain requires building a complex software-dependent environment, being able to use Linux commands for cumbersome parameter configurations, as well as the need to consider whether the hardware meets the requirements for running a blockchain. To address these current challenges in blockchain deployment both domestically and internationally, a web-based automatic deployment system with an interactive front-end and back-end has been developed. This system streamlines the process by automatically configuring and deploying blockchains while providing deployers with a graphical interface to monitor the entire deployment procedure. Meanwhile, in order to improve the efficiency of blockchain deployment, a Hidden Markov Model has been designed for blockchain deployment, which can predict the best deployment method for blockchain deployment under the current software environment. As one of the excellent blockchain platforms in China, Chainmaker has the outstanding features of independent control, flexible assembly, software and hardware integration, open source, and openness. Visible light communication (VLC) is a promising complementary technology to its radio frequency (RF) counterpart to satisfy the high quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of intelligent vehicular communications by reusing LED street lights. In this paper, a hybrid handover scheme for vehicular VLC/RF communication networks is proposed to balance QoS and handover costs by considering the vertical handover and horizontal handover together judging from the mobile state of the vehicle. A Markov decision process (MDP) is formulated to describe this hybrid handover problem, with a cost function balancing the handover consumption, delay, and reliability. A value iteration algorithm was applied to solve the optimal handover policy. Proteomics offers a robust method for quantifying proteins and elucidating their roles in cellular functions, surpassing the insights provided by transcriptomics. The Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium database, enriched with comprehensive cancer proteomics data including phosphorylation and ubiquitination profiles, alongside transcriptomics data from the Genomic Data Commons, allow for integrative molecular studies of cancer. The ProteoCancer Analysis Suite (PCAS), our newly developed R package and Shinyapp, leverages these resources to facilitate in-depth analyses of proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and transcriptomics, enhancing our understanding of the tumor microenvironment through features like immune infiltration and drug sensitivity analysis. This tool aids in identifying critical signaling pathways and therapeutic targets, particularly through its detailed phosphoproteomic analysis. To demonstrate the functionality of the PCAS, we conducted an analysis of GAPDH across multiple cancer types, revealing a significant upregulation of protein levels, which is consistent with its important biological and clinical significance in tumors, as indicated in our prior research. Further experiments were used to validate the findings performed using the tool. In conclusion, the PCAS is a powerful and valuable tool for conducting comprehensive proteomic analyses, significantly enhancing our ability to uncover oncogenic mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic targets in cancer research. With the improvement of social production efficiency and the enhancement of the supply chain system, the traditional linear supply chain model is gradually evolving into a more complex and dynamic industrial chain network. This article uses complex network theory combined with the basic attributes of the industrial chain and supply chain to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the integrated circuit industry chain. Firstly, a cooperative network model of the integrated circuit industry chain in Shaanxi Province is established based on the supply chain relationships of enterprises. Secondly, the study analyzes the basic characteristics of the collaborative network model. Thirdly, this study explores the efficiency, resilience, and innovation capacity of industrial chains using a novel set of indexes: the industry chain efficiency index (ICEI), the industry chain resilience index (ICRI), and the industry chain innovation capability index (ICICI). By employing principal component analysis (PCA), the study provides a comprehensive evaluation of industrial chain performance. The findings reveal that the ICEI highlights the critical importance of average path length and network density, showing that shorter paths and higher density are associated with greater efficiency. The ICRI emphasizes the roles of average degree and standard deviation, indicating that higher connectivity and lower variability contribute to resilience. The ICICI identifies the clustering coefficient and network density as key factors, suggesting that tight-knit networks foster innovation. These results offer significant insights into the dynamics of industrial chain collaboration and provide practical recommendations for enhancing supply chain management. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through a case study. The results of the case study indicate the following: (1) Key Enterprises' Identification: The analysis identified key enterprises like Samsung Semiconductor and HT-tech with the highest betweenness centrality, highlighting their crucial intermediary roles within the network; (2) Efficiency and Innovation Assessment: Compared with foreign-owned and other immigrant businesses, local businesses generally perform below average in terms of efficiency and resilience, indicating that there is room for improvement in technology adoption and innovation capabilities. The main object of this paper is to study the traveling wave solutions of the fractional coupled Konopelchenko–Dubrovsky model by using the complete discriminant system method of polynomials. Firstly, the fractional coupled Konopelchenko–Dubrovsky model is simplified into nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using the traveling wave transformation. Secondly, the trigonometric function solutions, rational function solutions, solitary wave solutions and the elliptic function solutions of the fractional coupled Konopelchenko–Dubrovsky model are derived by means of the polynomial complete discriminant system method. This paper presents a novel nanoscale refractive index sensor, which is produced by using a metal–insulator–metal (MIM) waveguide structure coupled with the circular ring with an external rectangular ring (CRERR) structure with the Fano resonance phenomenon. In this study, COMSOL software was used to model and simulate the structure, paired with an analysis of the output spectra to detail the effect of constructional factors on the output Fano curve as measured from a finite element method. After a series of studies, it was shown that an external rectangular ring is the linchpin of the unsymmetrical Fano resonance, while the circular ring's radius strongly influences the transducer's capability to achieve a maximum for 3180 nm/RIU sensitivity and a FOM of 54.8. The sensor is capable of achieving sensitivities of 0.495 nm/mgdL−1 and 0.6375 nm/mgdL−1 when detecting the concentration of the electrolyte sodium and potassium ions in human blood and is expected to play an important role in human health monitoring. Accurate and reliable mid-to-long-term runoff prediction (MLTRP) is of great importance in water resource management. However, the MLTRP is not suitable in each basin, and how to evaluate the applicability of MLTRP is still a question. Therefore, the total mutual information (TMI) index is developed in this study based on the predictor selection method using mutual information (MI) and partial MI (PMI). The relationship between the TMI and the predictive performance of five AI models is analyzed by applying five models to 222 forecasting scenarios in Australia. This results in over 222 forecasting scenarios which demonstrate that, compared with the MI, the developed TMI index can better represent the available information in the predictors and has a more significant negative correlation with the RRMSE, with a correlation coefficient between −0.62 and −0.85. This means that the model's predictive performance will become better along with the increase in TMI, and therefore, the developed TMI index can be used to evaluate the applicability of MLTRP. When the TMI is more than 0.1, the available information in the predictors can support the construction of MLTRP models. In addition, the TMI can be used to partly explain the differences in predictive performance among five models. In general, the complex models, which can better utilize the contained information, are more sensitive to the TMI and have more significant improvement in terms of predictive performance along with the increase in TMI. The surface morphology of perovskite films significantly influences the performance of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). However, the thin perovskite thickness (~10 nm) results in low surface coverage on the substrate, limiting the improvement of photoelectric performance. Here, we propose a molecular additive strategy that employs pentafluorophenyl diphenylphosphinate (FDPP) molecules as additives. P=O and Pentafluorophenyl (5F) on FDPP can coordinate with Pb2+ to slow the crystallization process of perovskite and enhance surface coverage. Moreover, FDPP reduces the defect density of perovskite and enhances the crystalline quality. The maximum brightness, power efficiency (PE), and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of the optimal device reached 24,230 cd m−2, 82.73 lm W−1, and 21.06%, respectively. The ever-growing prominence and widespread acceptance of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly those employing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), have firmly established them as formidable contenders in the field of lighting technology. TADF enables achieving a 100% utilization rate and efficient luminescence through reverse intersystem crossing (RISC). However, the effectiveness of TADF-OLEDs is influenced by their high current density and limited device lifetime, which result in a significant reduction in efficiency. This comprehensive review introduces the TADF mechanism and provides a detailed overview of recent advancements in the development of host-free white OLEDs (WOLEDs) utilizing TADF. This review specifically scrutinizes advancements from three distinct perspectives: TADF fluorescence, TADF phosphorescence and all-TADF materials in host-free WOLEDs. By presenting the latest research findings, this review contributes to the understanding of the current state of host-free WOLEDs, employing TADF and underscoring promising avenues for future investigations. In this paper, the impact of parameter matching on the steady-state performance of permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors (PMaSynRM) under vector control is analyzed and discussed. First, based on the mathematical model of motors under the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy, an analysis is conducted concerning two main parameters, i.e., the matching relationship between the back electromotive force (back-EMF) and the saliency ratio. The impact of these two parameters on the operational status of the motor is investigated. Then, the motor's voltage operating conditions are examined, and the operating curve under minimum voltage is derived. Furthermore, in the overvoltage region under the MTPA control strategy, the operation of the motor under the maximum torque per voltage (MTPV) control strategy is explored. This analysis illuminated the patterns of influence exerted by the back-EMF and the saliency ratio on the motor's voltage operating condition. Between these two control strategies, there remains scope for the motor to operate at its limits. An enhanced understanding of the effects of the back-EMF and saliency ratio within this range on motor performance was achieved, resulting in the optimal matching curve for the back-EMF and saliency ratio. The widespread dissemination of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) and its drug resistance transfer poses a global public health threat. While previous studies outlined CRKP's drug resistance mechanism, there is limited research on strategies inhibiting CRKP drug resistance spread. This study investigates the potential of Bifidobacterium longum (B. longum) FB1-1, a probiotic, in curbing the spread of drug resistance among CRKP by evaluating its cell-free supernatant (CFS) for antibacterial activity. Evaluating the inhibitory effect of FB1-1 CFS on CRKP drug resistance spread involved analyzing its impact on drug resistance and virulence gene expression; drug resistance plasmid transfer FB1-1 CFS exhibited an MIC range of 125 μL/mL against CRKP. After eight hours of co-culture, CFS achieved a 96% and 100% sterilization rate at two and four times the MIC, respectively. At sub-inhibitory concentrations (1/2× MIC), FB1-1 CFS reduced the expression of the bla_KPC gene, which is pivotal for carbapenem resistance, by up to 62.13% across different CRKP strains. Additionally, it markedly suppressed the expression of the uge gene, a key virulence factor, by up to 91%, and the fim_H gene, essential for bacterial adhesion, by up to 53.4%. Our study primarily focuses on determining the inhibitory effect of FB1-1 CFS on CRKP strains harboring the bla_KPC gene, which is a critical resistance determinant in CRKP. Furthermore, FB1-1 CFS demonstrated the ability to inhibit the transfer of drug resistance plasmids among CRKP strains, thus limiting the horizontal spread of resistance genes. This study highlights FB1-1 CFS's inhibitory effect on CRKP drug resistance spread, particularly in strains carrying the bla_KPC gene, thus offering a novel idea and theoretical foundation for developing antibacterial drugs targeting CRKP resistance. Epoxy powders offer a low-cost way of manufacturing thick-section composite parts, such as those found in wind and tidal turbines. Currently, their processing cycle includes a lengthy drying stage (≥15 h) to remove ambient moisture. This drying stage prevents void defect formation and, thereby, a reduction in mechanical properties; however, it constitutes up to 60% of the processing time. Little research has been published which studies the drying stage or its optimisation. In the present work, experimental and simulated analyses are used to investigate the effects of hygroscopicity in epoxy powder composites. Tests are performed to quantify the void content of dried and undried laminates and to measure its impact on transverse flexural strength. Dynamic vapour sorption analysis is used to study the sorption behaviour of the epoxy powder. It is shown that the epoxy powder is slightly hygroscopic (1.36 wt%) and exhibits sorption behaviour that is characteristic of glassy polymers. This results in up to 4.8% voids (by volume) if processed in an undried state, leading to a 43% reduction in transverse flexural strength. A modified linear driving force model is fitted to the desorption data and then implemented in existing process-simulation tools. The drying of a thick epoxy powder composite section is simulated to investigate the influence of powder sintering on the duration of the drying stage. Process simulations reveal that a standard drying cycle prematurely sinters the powder, which inhibits moisture release. Heme biosynthesis is a highly conserved pathway from bacteria to higher animals. Heme, which serves as a prosthetic group for various enzymes involved in multiple biochemical processes, is essential in almost all species, making heme homeostasis vital for life. However, studies on the biological functions of heme in filamentous fungi are scarce. In this study, we investigated the role of heme in Fusarium graminearum. A mutant lacking the rate-limiting enzymes in heme synthesis, coproporphyrinogen III oxidase (Cpo) or ferrochelatase (Fc), was constructed using a homologous recombination strategy. The results showed that the absence of these enzymes was lethal to F. graminearum, but the growth defect could be rescued by the addition of hemin, so we carried out further studies with the help of hemin. The results demonstrated that heme was required for the activity of FgCyp51, and its absence increased the sensitivity to tebuconazole and led to the upregulation of FgCYP51 in F. graminearum. Additionally, heme plays an indispensable role in the life cycle of F. graminearum, which is essential for vegetative growth, conidiation, external stress response (especially oxidative stress), lipid accumulation, fatty acid β-oxidation, autophagy, and virulence. The utilization of natural products in food preservation represents a promising strategy for the dual benefits of controlling foodborne pathogens and enhancing the nutritional properties of foods. Among the phytonutrients, flavonoids have been shown to exert antibacterial effects by disrupting bacterial cell membrane functionality; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. In this study, we investigated the effect of quercetin on the cell membrane permeability of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 27217. A combined metabolomic and transcriptomic approach was adopted to examine the regulatory mechanism of quercetin with respect to the fatty acid composition and associated genes. Kinetic analysis and molecular docking simulations were conducted to assess quercetin's inhibition of β-ketoacyl-acyl carrier protein reductase (FabG), a potential target in the bacterial fatty acid biosynthesis pathway. Metabolomic and transcriptomic results showed that quercetin increased the ratio of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids and the levels of membrane phospholipids. The bacteria reacted to quercetin-induced stress by attempting to enhance fatty acid biosynthesis; however, quercetin directly inhibited FabG activity, thereby disrupting bacterial fatty acid biosynthesis. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of quercetin's effects on bacterial cell membranes and suggest potential applications for quercetin in bacterial inhibition. To solve the shuttling effect and transformations of LiPSs in lithium–sulfur batteries, heterostructures have been designed to immobilize LiPSs and boost their reversible conversions. In this paper, we have constructed AlN/InN heterojunctions with AlN with a wide band gap and InN with a narrow band gap. The heterojunctions show metallic properties, which are primarily composed of 2s, 2p N atoms and 5s, 5p In atoms. InN has relatively higher adsorptivity for LiPSs than AlN. Reaction profiles show that on the surface of AlN, there is a lower rate-limiting step than on that of InN, from S8 to Li2S6, and a higher rate-limiting step from Li2S4 to Li2S2, which is more favorable for InN during the reduction from Li2S4 to Li2S2. The heterojunction can realize the synergistic reaction of trapping–diffusion–conversion for LiPSs, in which AlN traps large Li2S8 and Li2S6, the heterojunction causes the diffusion of Li2S4, and InN completes the conversion of Li2S4 to Li2S. Simple Summary: Three trichomonad species (Tritrichomonas foetus, Tetratrichomonas buttreyi, and Pentatrichomonas hominis) may affect pig production. Moreover, P. hominis is a zoonotic species. In the current investigation, 362 fecal samples collected from pigs in three representative counties in Shanxi Province, North China, were molecularly tested for the three trichomonad species. The results showed that T. buttreyi was detected as the most common species, with a prevalence of 49.72%. Its prevalence was associated with region and age. Only one sample was tested positive for T. foetus, and this isolate showed minor allelic variations compared with those reported previously. For T. buttreyi, eight distinct sequence types were obtained, and only two displayed 100% nucleotide homology with the corresponding sequences reported previously. For the first time, we reported the prevalence and genetic characterization of T. foetus and T. buttreyi in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China, which provides baseline information for planning control strategies. Several trichomonad species have already been identified in pigs, and their pathogenic potential may not be ruled out. To date, however, no information is available regarding the prevalence of trichomonads in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China. In the present study, a total of 362 fecal samples collected from pigs in three representative counties (Qi, Jishan, and Shanyin) in this province were examined for Tetratrichomonas buttreyi, Tritrichomonas foetus, and Pentatrichomonas hominis using a nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with primers targeting the small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA) gene. The overall prevalence of T. buttreyi was 49.72%, and region and age were found to be significantly associated with T. buttreyi infection, respectively. Only one pig fecal sample from Qi County was found to be positive for T. foetus, and all samples were negative for P. hominis. Molecular evolutionary analysis revealed that some T. buttreyi isolates showed complete genetic identity with those reported previously, and some T. buttreyi isolates and one T. foetus isolate showed minor allelic variations compared with those reported previously. This is the report of the molecular epidemiology of T. foetus and T. buttreyi in pigs in Shanxi Province, North China. These findings not only enrich the knowledge on the distribution of these trichomonad species in pigs in China but also provide baseline information for planning future research and control strategies. Although perovskite has great potential in optoelectronic devices, the simultaneous satisfaction of material stability and high performance is still an issue that needs to be solved. Most perovskite optoelectronic devices use quantum dot spin coating or the gas-phase growth of perovskite thin films as the photoelectric conversion layer. Due to stability limitations, these materials often experience a significant decrease in photoelectric conversion efficiency when encountering liquid reagents. The self-assembled growth of hybrid perovskite crystals determines superior lattice ordering and stability. There are three types of ionic liquids—[Emim]BF4, EMIMNTF2, and HMITFSI—that can effectively enhance the X-ray photoelectric conversion performance of hybrid perovskite crystal CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3), and the enhancement in the photocurrent leads to an improvement in the sensitivity of X-ray detectors. We soak the perovskite crystals in an ionic liquid and perform two treatment methods: electrification and dilution with ETOH solution. It is interesting to find that MAPbI3 perovskite single crystal materials choose the same optimized ionic liquid species in X-ray detection and photovoltaic power generation applications, and the effect is quite the opposite. Compared with untreated MAPbI3 crystals, the average photocurrent density of Electrify-HMITFSI MAPbI3 increased by 826.85% under X-ray excitation and the sensitivity of X-ray detectors made from these treated MAPbI3 crystals significantly increased by 72.6%, but the intensity of the PL spectrum decreased to 90% of the untreated intensity. With the development of rice varieties and mechanized planting technology, reliable and efficient nitrogen and planting density status diagnosis and recommendation methods have become critical to the success of precise nitrogen and planting density management in crops. In this study, we combined population structure, plant shape characteristics, environmental weather conditions, and management information data using a machine learning model to simulate the responses of the yield and nitrogen nutrition index and developed an ensemble learning model-based nitrogen and planting density recommendation strategy for different varieties of rice types. In the third stage, the NNI and yield prediction effect of the ensemble learning model was more significantly improved than that of the other two stages. The scenario analysis results show that the optimal yields and nitrogen nutrition indices were obtained with a density and nitrogen amount of 100.1 × 104 plant/ha and 161.05 kg·ha−1 for the large-spike type variety of rice, 75.08 × 104 plant/ha and 159.52 kg·ha−1 for the intermediate type variety of rice, and 75.08 × 104 plant/ha and 133.47 kg·ha−1 for the panicle number type variety of rice, respectively. A large number of research stations have been established to provide members of Antarctic expeditions with logistical support. A previous study confirmed that the wind and solar energy resources of the Chinese Zhongshan Station, a coastal station located in an area of Lassmann Hills in East Antarctica, are highly synergetic and complementary. Considering the demand for a renewable energy power supply in Zhongshan Station, this paper introduces a hybrid energy system with wind–solar–diesel–battery co-generation used as a power supply scheme. Based on the 2015 climate data for Zhongshan Station, the wind–solar resources, conventional energy system, and annual diesel consumption of the station area were analyzed. The annual electrical load demand of each building in the station area was quantitatively expounded. Compared with the original power supply system, and combined with the analysis results of the thermal load and electrical load demands of the station, an objective function based on the requirements of economy, reliability, and environmental protection was presented. According to the constraint conditions of the heat energy and electrical energy load balance in the station area, a multi-objective scheduling strategy for the system was designed. Finally, the effects of this scheduling strategy were analyzed under three different application scenarios. The results indicated that the annual load demand was significantly lower than before the scheduling, and that a 50% reduction in diesel consumption could be achieved, demonstrating that the multi-objective scheduling strategy proposed in this paper could achieve optimal energy scheduling and management of the renewable hybrid energy system. Altitude plays a crucial role in shaping the diversity and distribution of species in forest landscapes in mountainous regions. However, existing studies often lack comprehensive analysis of the intricate relationships among environmental factors, disturbances, and species diversity. This study aims to address this gap by thoroughly analyzing major species' diversity, distribution, and regeneration status, along with their influencing factors, across different altitudinal gradients (1850 to 2350 m). Field surveys were conducted to examine the major species in different vegetation layers of the secondary Picea forest in Guandi Mountain. The key findings from the study include the following: (1) the study area recorded a total of nine species of adult trees, belonging to eight genera in five families, fourteen species of shrubs from eight genera in five families, and fifty-two herb species representing forty-eight genera in twenty-six families. Dominant species varied across layers, with Picea asperata Mast. and Larix principis-rupprechtii Mayr. dominating the arborous layer, Lonicera ferdinandii Franch. and Cotoneaster acutifolius Turcz. in the shrub layer, and Poa pratensis L. and Duchesnea indica (Andrews.) Focke in the herb layer. (2) Altitude significantly influenced species diversity, with the most pronounced effects observed in the shrub and herb layers. (3) Tree species regeneration varied with altitude, with Picea asperata exhibiting the highest regeneration performance, particularly in the high-altitude zone (2250–2350 m). Regeneration parameters were significantly correlated with species diversity indices in both tree and shrub layers. (4) Redundancy analysis revealed that, apart from altitude, cutting (p = 0.015) influenced the species diversity of the tree layer, while annual precipitation (p = 0.006) and temperature (p = 0.01) determined the diversity of the shrub layer. Grazing (p = 0.042) was identified as a determining factor for species diversity in the herb layer. Overall, these findings provide valuable insights into the sustainable management of forest ecosystems in the study area and offer practical guidance for forest management in similar mountainous landscapes worldwide. The deteriorated plasticity arising from the insoluble precipitates may lead to cracks during the rolling of FeCrAl alloys. The microstructure evolution and hot deformation behavior of an FeCrAl alloy were investigated in the temperature range of 750–1200 °C and strain rate range of 0.01–10 s−1. The flow stress of the FeCrAl alloy decreased with an increasing deformation temperature and decreased strain rate during hot working. The thermal deformation activation energy was determined to be 329.49 kJ/mol based on the compression test. Then, the optimal hot working range was given based on the established hot processing maps. The hot processing map revealed four small instability zones. The optimal working range for the material was identified as follows: at a true strain of 0.69, the deformation temperature should be 1050–1200 °C, and the strain rate should be 0.01–0.4 s−1. The observation of key samples of thermally simulated compression showed that discontinuous dynamic recrystallization started to occur with the temperate above 1000 °C, leading to bended grain boundaries. Lipases are versatile biocatalysts for various biological reactions. In the detergent industry, lipases must exhibit high activity in environments with high temperature, high pH values, metal ions, and organic solvents. Therefore, researchers are intensively searching for more stable and efficient lipases. A new thermophilic lipase, LipGt6, was identified in Geobacillus thermoleovorans H9, a new thermophilic strain isolated from ultrahigh-temperature compost. A structural model of LipGt6 was constructed using an esterase from Geobacillus thermodenitrificans as a template, and site-directed mutagenesis confirmed the predicted active site residues. LipGt6 exhibited the highest activity towards medium- and long-chain fatty acids (C8–C14), and the optimum temperature and pH were 50 °C and 9.0, respectively. LipGt6 was found to be thermostable up to 70 °C. In the presence of 1% H2O2 and sodium deoxycholate, LipGt6 retained 70 to 75% relative activity. These findings reveal that LipGt6 is potentially useful for the industrial production of detergent. Based on comparison of the amino acid sequences, the enzyme belongs to a new subfamily called lipolytic enzyme family II. Land use serves as a connecting link between human activities and the natural ecology of the surface; under the multi-objective background of national policies and dual-carbon tasks, land use transformation is studied and simulated in multiple scenarios, and carbon stock changes are analyzed based on future land use to explore the path for a region to achieve multi-objective coordination. Drawing upon land use data from 2000 to 2020 in Lintao County, Gansu Province, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the dynamics governing land use transformation. Subsequently, employing the FLUS (Future Land Use Simulation) model, we simulated the projected land use for Lintao County in 2035 under various scenarios. Furthermore, we utilized the InVEST (Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs) model to assess the change in carbon stock within the study area under each scenario. These analyses aim to furnish a robust scientific foundation for future land use planning endeavors in Lintao County. The conclusions are as follows: (1) The land use transition in Lintao County from 2000 to 2020 showed the strongest motivation for construction land growth, with continued rapid growth in the scale of urban land and other construction land and relatively slow growth in the land for rural settlement areas, while cropland and water areas continued to decrease, forest land grew slowly, the magnitude of land use change exhibited a higher intensity in river townships compared with mountainous townships. (2) The simulation results of cropland protection scenario (CPS), ecological protection scenario (EPS), economic development scenario (EDS), and comprehensive development scenario (CDS) in 2035 are better. Among them, the CDS, which considers various types of higher-level strategic requirements and can compensate for the single-goal nature of the single-demand scenario, demonstrates a higher level of rationality in the land use pattern. (3) The total carbon stock in descending order is the EPS, CDS, EDS, and CPS. Among these, the CDS is at a higher level of total carbon stock, and the changes in carbon stock in each land use site are more balanced, which is an ideal carbon stock state and a scenario more in line with multi-objective coordination. A series of Zn-modified HBeta (Zn/HBeta) catalysts were prepared via the wetness impregnation method with different zinc precursors such as ZnSO4·7H2O, ZnCl2, C4H6O4Zn·2H2O and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O, and their catalytic performance in the conversion of ethanol to propylene reaction was evaluated. Results indicate that the amount and strength distribution of the acid sites of the Zn/HBeta catalysts were easily tuned by employing different types of zinc precursors. More importantly, when the zinc species were introduced to the HBeta, the propylene yield was significantly enhanced, whereas the yields of ethylene and C2–C4 alkanes were remarkably suppressed. For the catalyst prepared by using the ZnCl2 precursor, a higher propylene yield of up to 43.4% for Zn/HBeta-C was achieved as a result of the moderate amount and strength distribution of acid sites. The average coking rate of the used Zn/HBeta catalysts strongly depended on the amount of total acid sites, especially the strong acid sites, i.e., the higher the amount of total acid sites of the catalyst, the greater the average coking rate. For the catalyst prepared by using the ZnSO4·7H2O precursor, Zn/HBeta-S exhibited a better stability even after depositing more coke, which was due to the higher amount of strong acid sites. The facet joint injection is the most common procedure used to release lower back pain. In this paper, we proposed a deep learning method for detecting and segmenting facet joints in ultrasound images based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and enhanced data annotation. In the enhanced data annotation, a facet joint was considered as the first target and the ventral complex as the second target to improve the capability of CNNs in recognizing the facet joint. A total of 300 cases of patients undergoing pain treatment were included. The ultrasound images were captured and labeled by two professional anesthesiologists, and then augmented to train a deep learning model based on the Mask Region-based CNN (Mask R-CNN). The performance of the deep learning model was evaluated using the average precision (AP) on the testing sets. The data augmentation and data annotation methods were found to improve the AP. The AP50 for facet joint detection and segmentation was 90.4% and 85.0%, respectively, demonstrating the satisfying performance of the deep learning model. We presented a deep learning method for facet joint detection and segmentation in ultrasound images based on enhanced data annotation and the Mask R-CNN. Wind shear has important implications for Kelvin–Helmholtz instability (KHI) and gravity waves (GWs) in the mesosphere–lower thermosphere (MLT) region where its momentum transport process is dominated by short-period (<1 h) GWs. However, the sub-hourly variation in wind shear is still not well quantified. This study aims to improve current understanding of vertical wind shear by analyzing multi-year meteor radar measurements at the Mohe (MH, 53.5°N, 122.3°E), Beijing (BJ, 40.3 ° N , 116.2 ° E ), Wuhan (WH, 30.5 ° N , 114.6 ° E ), and Fuke (FK, 19.5°N, 109.1°E) stations in China. The wind field is estimated by a new algorithm, e.g., the damped least squares fitting. Taking the wind shear estimated by normal products as a criterion, the shear produced by the new algorithm has more statistical convergence as compared to the traditional algorithm, e.g., the least squares fitting. Therefore, we argue that the 10 min DLSA wind probably produces a more reasonable vertical shear. Both intensive wind shears and GW kinetic energy can be simultaneously captured during the 0600–1600 UTs of May at MH and during the 1300–2400 UTs of March at FK, possibly implying that the up-propagation of GWs could contribute to the production of large wind shears. Repeated regulatory incident investigations demonstrate the insufficiency of company risk assessments and the vulnerabilities that this exposes to the business and its duty holders who are, ultimately, culpable for the subsequent legislative breaches. While the epistemology and taxonomy of the traditional risk assessment are well established, there is a paucity of information that allows the verification and validation of the risk assessment content. Using evidence-based methodologies such as Content Analysis, Thematic Analysis, and validating the outputs using a survey, it became possible to "reverse engineer" the risk assessment content. This analysis of the published risk assessments, kindly supplied by six different Renewable Energy businesses, established that deterministic and behavioristic risk management methodologies had been adopted. These methodologies permitted and guided the use of vague and imprecise terminology and phraseology, numerical inconsistencies resulting in data ossification, and flawed assumptions. This analysis enables the duty holders to make informed and rational judgements about the adequacy of the risk assessment documents, and the process that permitted and guided their creation. Solid-state lithium metal batteries (LMBs) have been extensively investigated owing to their safer and higher energy density. In this work, we prepared a novel elastic solid-state polymer electrolyte based on an in situ-formed elastomer polymer matrix with ion-conductive plasticizer crystal embedded with Li6.5La3Zr1.5Ta0.5O12 (LLZTO) nanoparticles, denoted as LZT/SN-SPE. The unique structure of LZT/SN-SPE shows excellent elasticity and flexibility, good electrochemical oxidation tolerance, high ionic conductivity, and high Li+ transference number. The role of LLZTO filler in suppressing the side reactions between succinonitrile (SN) and the lithium metal anode and propelling the Li+ diffusion kinetics can be affirmed. The Li symmetric cells with LZT/SN-SPE cycled stably over 1100 h under a current density of 5 mA cm−2, and Li||LiFePO4 cells realized an excellent rate (92.40 mAh g−1 at 5 C) and long-term cycling performance (98.6% retention after 420 cycles at 1 C). To identify suitable potassium fertilizers for grape (Vitis vinifera L.) production and study their mechanism of action, the effects of four potassium-containing fertilizers (complex fertilizer, potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate) on sugar and organic acid metabolism in grape fruits were investigated. Potassium-containing fertilizers increased the activity of sugar and organic acid metabolism-related enzymes at all stages of grape fruit development. During the later stages of fruit development, potassium-containing fertilizers increased the total soluble solid content and the sugar content of the different sugar fractions and decreased the titratable acid content and organic acid content of the different organic acid fractions. At the ripening stage of grape fruit, compared with the control, complex fertilizer, potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate increased the total soluble solid content by 1.5, 1.2, 3.5, and 3.4 percentage points, decreased the titratable acid content by 0.09, 0.06, 0.18, and 0.17 percentage points, respectively, and also increased the total potassium content in grape fruits to a certain degree. Transcriptome analysis of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the berries showed that applying potassium-containing fertilizers enriched the genes in pathways involved in fruit quality, namely, carbon metabolism, carbon fixation in photosynthetic organisms, glycolysis and gluconeogenesis, and fructose and mannose metabolism. Potassium-containing fertilizers affected the expression levels of genes regulating sugar metabolism and potassium ion uptake and transport. Overall, potassium-containing fertilizers can promote sugar accumulation and reduce acid accumulation in grape fruits, and potassium sulfate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate had the best effects among the fertilizers tested. Mitophagy, a conserved cellular mechanism, is crucial for cellular homeostasis through the selective clearance of impaired mitochondria. Its emerging role in cancer development has sparked interest, particularly in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Our study aimed to construct a risk model based on mitophagy-related genes (MRGs) to predict survival outcomes, immune response, and chemotherapy sensitivity in LUAD patients. We mined the GeneCards database to identify MRGs and applied LASSO/Cox regression to formulate a prognostic model. Validation was performed using two independent Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) cohorts. Patients were divided into high- and low-risk categories according to the median risk score. The high-risk group demonstrated significantly reduced survival. Multivariate Cox analysis confirmed the risk score as an independent predictor of prognosis, and a corresponding nomogram was developed to facilitate clinical assessments. Intriguingly, the risk score correlated with immune infiltration levels, oncogenic expression profiles, and sensitivity to anticancer agents. Enrichment analyses linked the risk score with key oncological pathways and biological processes. Within the model, MTERF3 emerged as a critical regulator of lung cancer progression. Functional studies indicated that the MTERF3 knockdown suppressed the lung cancer cell proliferation and migration, enhanced mitophagy, and increased the mitochondrial superoxide production. A dynamic gravimeter with an atomic interferometer (AI) can perform absolute gravity measurements with high precision. AI-based dynamic gravity measurement is a type of joint measurement that uses an AI sensor and a classical accelerometer. The coupling of the two sensors may degrade the measurement precision. In this study, we analyzed the cross-coupling effect and introduced a recovery vector to suppress this effect. We improved the phase noise of the interference fringe by a factor of 1.9 by performing marine gravity measurements using an AI-based gravimeter and optimizing the recovery vector. Marine gravity measurements were performed, and high gravity measurement precision was achieved. The external and inner coincidence accuracies of the gravity measurement were ±0.42 mGal and ±0.46 mGal after optimizing the cross-coupling effect, which was improved by factors of 4.18 and 4.21 compared to the cases without optimization. Acute lung injury (ALI) is a serious inflammatory disease with high morbidity and mortality. Rosavin is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant phenylpropanoid and glucoside, which is isolated from Rhodiola rosea L. However, its potential molecular mechanisms and whether it has protective effects against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI remain to be elucidated. To assess the in vitro anti-inflammatory effects and anti-lung injury activity of rosavin, RAW264.7 and A549 cells were stimulated using 1 μg/mL LPS. Rosavin attenuated LPS-induced activation of the TLR-4/NF-κB signaling pathway in RAW264.7 cells and inhibited LPS-induced release of inflammatory factors in A549 cells. A mouse model of acute lung injury was constructed by intraperitoneal injection of 5 mg/kg LPS to observe the therapeutic effect of rosavin. Transcriptomics analysis and Western blot assays were utilized to verify the molecular mechanism, rosavin (20, 40, and 80 mg/kg) dose-dependently ameliorated histopathological alterations, reduced the levels of inflammatory factors, and inhibited the TLR-4/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathway and apoptosis activation. 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP) is a highly effective volatile compound that gives fragrance to numerous plant species and food. Mutation(s) in the betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (BADH2) gene results in the accumulation of 2AP. However, the function of BADH genes in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) remains poorly understood. In this study, we successfully obtained four betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase (BADH) genes from tobacco. Phylogenetic analysis of the protein sequences showed that two of the four BADH genes were closely related to the wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) BADH gene (LbBADH1), so we named them NtBADH1a and NtBADH1b, respectively. The other two BADH genes were orthologues of the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) aminoaldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (SlAMADH2) gene, and were named NtBADH2a and NtBADH2b, respectively. Expression analysis revealed that the biological functions of NtBADH1a and NtBADH1b were different from those of genes NtBADH2a and NtBADH2b. We introduced mutations into NtBADH1a, NtBADH1b, NtBADH2a and NtBADH2b in tobacco using the CRISPR/Cas9 system and identified transgenic Ntbadh mutant tobacco lines. Single mutants (Ntbadh1a, Ntbadh1b, Ntbadh2a and Ntbadh2b) and double mutants (Ntbadh1a-Ntbadh1b and Ntbadh2a-Ntbadh2b) harbored deletion or insertion of nucleotides, both of which led to the production of a frameshift, preventing protein accumulation. A popcorn-like scent was noticeable in tobacco leaves from the Ntbadh2a-Ntbadh2b double mutant, but not from any single mutant or the Ntbadh1a-Ntbadh1b double mutant or the wild type. Consistent with this observation, we only detected 2AP in fresh leaves from the Ntbadh2a-Ntbadh2b double mutant. These findings indicate that only the combined inactivation of NtBADH2a and NtBADH2b results in 2AP accumulation in tobacco, which was not related to NtBADH1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Altai Mountains, located in the northwesternmost part of China, have a harsh climate and little human activity, making it an excellent location to study forest ecology undisturbed by human interference. The forest is frequently struck by lightning and experiences long-term natural fire disturbances, leading to the evolution of unique fire adaptation traits in the major conifer species. To explore the role of natural fire disturbances in the Altai Mountain forest ecosystem, we conducted a study on the fire adaptation traits of Larix sibirica, Pinus sibirica, Picea obovata, and Abies sibirica, and reconstructed the fire history of the forest area over the past 100 years. We investigated three representative forest areas with varying fire disturbance conditions and habitats in the Altai Mountains. Data on fire disturbance conditions, relative air humidity, and species composition were collected in these areas. Basal diameter to diameter at breast height, relative bark thickness, and under-crown heights were measured and counted for each of the four species, and litter, bark, and wood layers were sampled and analyzed for physicochemical properties (ash, fat, and higher heating value) for each of the four species in the plots examined. We conducted a count of the four conifer species in the forest for each fire adaptation index and analyzed the differences in fire adaptation traits among the species. Larix sibirica showed fire-tolerant traits, Pinus sibirica displayed fire-embracer traits, and Picea obovata and Abies sibirica exhibited fire-avoider traits. Through the analysis of stand composition and exposure to fire disturbance in the different forest areas, we were able to correlate the fire-adaptive strategies of the four conifers with stand characteristics under varying fire disturbances and habitats. In this paper, carbon-matrix-supported copper (Cu) and cobaltous oxide (CoO) nanoparticles were obtained by using coordination polymers (CPs) as a precursor. The aqueous solutions of copper methacrylate (CuMA) and cobalt methacrylate (CoMA) were preferentially prepared, which were then mixed with anhydrous ethanol to fabricate dual metal ion coordination polymers (CuMA/CoMA). After calcination under an argon atmosphere, the Cu-CoO/C nanocomposite was obtained. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that the material has banded morphology, and the dual functional nanoparticles were highly dispersed in the carbon matrix. The prepared material was used in a heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction, with the aim of replacing traditional ferric catalysts to solve pH constraints and the mass production of ferric slime. The obtained nanocomposite showed excellent catalytic performance on the degradation of methylene blue (MB) at near-neutral conditions; the discoloration efficiency is about 98.5% within 50 min in the presence of 0.15 mmol/mL H2O2 and 0.5 mg/mL catalyst. A key means of promoting the high-quality development of karst areas is the maintenance of the area's ecological security. A full recognition of the special ecological function of karst areas, as well as their significance to the surrounding region's ecological, economic, and social development, is crucial in strengthening the overall strategic deployment of the national ecological construction and the protection and sustainable development of karst landscapes around the globe. In this study, the karst landscape of Puzhehei, Qiubei County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, was used as the research object. This study identified ecological source sites through a combination of morphological spatial pattern analysis and landscape connectivity assessment. As a result, 10 factors were selected to construct a comprehensive ecological resistance surface from the natural environment and socio-economic perspective; the resistance surface was corrected by combining the sensitivity of rocky desertification. An ecological corridor and ecological nodes were identified to construct the ecological security pattern based on the minimum cumulative resistance model and circuit theory. The results show that (1) the source areas of the Puzhehei karst landscape ecological protection comprised 11 core area patches with the landscape connectivity index of (dPC) ≥ 10, with a total area of 166.6572 km2, which constituted 46.06% of the total study area, and the ecological source area totaled 77.275 km2, or 21.36% of the total study area; (2) there were 78 potential ecological corridors in the Puzhehei karst region, with a total length of 545.186 km, including 12 key corridors and 66 general corridors; (3) a total of 51 ecological nodes were identified, including 11 "source-type ecological nodes", 30 "ecological pinch points", and 10 "ecological obstacles", including 16 key ecological nodes. This study provides a theoretical basis for the integration of Puzhehei Nature Reserve, as well as a reference for the ecologically sustainable development of similar karst areas. In recent years, hydrogen energy has garnered attention as a potential solution for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. However, concerns regarding the inherent risk of hydrogen gas leakage and potential explosions have necessitated the development of advanced sensors. Within our research group, we have innovated an ultrathin platinum (Pt) film hydrogen sensor that gauges resistance changes in Pt thin films when exposed to hydrogen gas. Notably, the sensitivity of each sensor is contingent upon the thickness of the Pt film. To address the challenge of detecting hydrogen using multiple sensors, we integrated the ultrathin Pt film as a resistance element within a twin-T type notch filter. This filter exhibits a distinctive reduction in output signals at a specific frequency. The frequency properties of the notch filter dynamically alter with changes in the resistance of the Pt film induced by hydrogen exposure. Consequently, the ultrathin Pt film hydrogen sensor monitors output signal variations around the notch frequency, responding to shifts in frequency properties. This innovative approach enables the electrical control of sensor sensitivity by adjusting the operating frequency in proximity to the notch frequency. Additionally, the simultaneous detection of hydrogen by multiple sensors was successfully achieved by interconnecting sensors with distinct notch frequencies in series. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Memory traces are believed to be broadly allocated in cerebral cortices and the hippocampus. Mutual synapse innervations among these brain areas are presumably formed in associative memory. In the present study, we have used neuronal tracing by pAAV-carried fluorescent proteins and neuroligin-3 mRNA knockdown by shRNAs to examine the role of neuroligin-3-mediated synapse formation in the interconnection between primary associative memory cells in the sensory cortices and secondary associative memory cells in the hippocampus during the acquisition and memory of associated signals. Our studies show that mutual synapse innervations between the barrel cortex and the hippocampal CA3 region emerge and are upregulated after the memories of associated whisker and odor signals come into view. These synapse interconnections are downregulated by a knockdown of neuroligin-3-mediated synapse linkages. New synapse interconnections and the strengthening of these interconnections appear to endorse the belief in an interaction between the hippocampus and sensory cortices for memory consolidation.
