Precast ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has emerged as indispensable in the engineering sector due to its cost-effectiveness and superior performance. Currently, precast UHPC grapples with challenges pertaining to slow setting times and insufficient early strength, largely attributed to its high water-reducing agent content. Effective utilization of early strength agents to augment UHPC's early strength is pivotal in addressing this issue. This study investigates the efficacy of two distinct concrete early strength agents, namely calcium formate (Ca(HCO2)2) and aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3). A UHPC system with a water/cement ratio of 0.17 was used; both single and compound doping experiments were conducted using varied dosages of the aforementioned early strength agents. Our results show that both early strength agents significantly reduce setting time and enhance early strength at appropriate dosages. Specifically, the addition of 0.3% Ca(HCO2)2 led to a 33.07% decrease in setting time for UHPC. Moreover, the incorporation of 0.3% Ca(HCO2)2 and 0.5% Al2(SO4)3 resulted in a strength of 81.9 MPa at 1.5 days, representing a remarkable increase of 118.4%. It is noteworthy that excessive use of Ca(HCO2)2 inhibits the hydration process, whereas an abundance of Al2(SO4)3 diminishes the early strength effect. Simultaneously, this article provides recommendations regarding the dosage of two distinct early strength agents, offering a novel solution for expediting the production of prefabricated UHPC with a low water/cement ratio and high water-reducing agent content. Subsidence prediction is essential for preventing and controlling geohazards in coal mining areas. However, the Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technique is limited in deriving the goaf displacements with a large gradient and fast deformation rates, hindering its application for potential risk evaluation over the mining areas. In this study, we proposed a three-dimensional and full parameter inversion (TDFPI) model to derive the large-gradient subsidence and then investigate its application for building damage assessment over coal mining areas. By taking the Guotun coal mine as the case study, the TDFPI model was demonstrated to have effectively predicted the large-gradient deformation of the mining areas and successfully evaluated the house damage in Chelou village, which agrees well with our field investigations. Specifically, the predicted subsidence results were validated with high fitting accuracy against field measurements, with RMSE of 0.083 m and 0.102 m, respectively, on observation line A and line F. In addition, the classified damage levels are highly consistent with in situ field surveys for the house cracks in Chelou village, presenting its practicality and effectiveness for building damage evaluation, and thus can provide a useful tool for potential risk assessment and prevention over the mining areas. Solar collectors are more efficient and commercial devices for collecting solar energy, compared to other solar energy utilizations. To improve the efficiency of solar collectors, it is important to prepare a liquid heat-collecting medium, which is stable and has high photothermal properties. Therefore, in this work, we develop a droplet–droplet mixing technique to prepare Fe3O4-H2O magnetic nanofluid. The results show that magnetic nanofluids prepared using the droplet–droplet mixing technique have more stable performance and a better encapsulation of dispersants than those prepared via traditional liquid–liquid mixing. Then, the thermal conductivity and photothermal properties of Fe3O4-H2O magnetic nanofluids are investigated experimentally and theoretically. The thermal conductivity and temperature of the magnetic nanofluid with Fe3O4 nanoparticles of a 1.0% volume fraction can reach the maximum value of 0.95 W/m∙K and 73.9 °C when the magnetic field strength is equal to the saturation magnetic field of 800 Gs. The analysis of pesticide residues in aquatic products is challenging due to low residue levels and the complex matrix interference. In this study, we developed a simple, fast method for the trace analysis of 90 pesticides and metabolites in aquatic products. The analytes covered a wide polarity range with log Kow (log octanol-water partition coefficient) ranging from −1.2 to 6.37. Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) and prawn (Penaeus chinensis) samples were chosen to validate the quantification method. The samples were extracted by 0.2% formic-acetonitrile, cleaned by solid-phase extraction (PRiME HLB), and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography−tandem mass spectrometry. The results showed good linearities for the analytes and were observed in the range of 0.05–50 μg/L. The recoveries of the method were within 50.4–118.6%, with the relative standard deviations being lower than 20%. The limits of quantifications (LOQs) of the method were in the range of 0.05–5.0 μg/kg, which were superior to values compared with other research. The developed method was applied to detect pesticide residues in prawn samples from eastern coastal areas of China. Three herbicide residues of diuron, prometryn, and atrazine were detected in prawn samples. Terahertz (THz) nondestructive testing (NDT) technology has been increasingly applied to the internal defect detection of composite materials. However, the THz image is affected by background noise and power limitation, leading to poor THz image quality. The recognition rate based on traditional machine vision algorithms is not high. The above methods are usually unable to determine surface defects in a timely and accurate manner. In this paper, we propose a method to detect the internal defects of composite materials by using terahertz images based on a faster region-convolutional neural networks (faster R-CNNs) algorithm. Terahertz images showing internal defects in composite materials are first acquired by a terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system. Then the terahertz images are filtered, the blurred images are removed, and the remaining images are enhanced with data and annotated with image defects to create a dataset consistent with the internal defects of the material. On the basis of the above work, an improved faster R-CNN algorithm is proposed in this paper. The network can detect various defects in THz images by changing the backbone network, optimising the training parameters, and improving the prior box algorithm to improve the detection accuracy and efficiency of the network. By taking the commonly used composite sandwich structure as a representative, a sample with typical defects is designed, and the image data are obtained through the test. Comparing the proposed method with other existing network methods, the former proves to have the advantages of a short training time and high detection accuracy. The results show that the mean average precision (mAP) without data enhancement reached 95.50%, and the mAP with data enhancement reached 98.35% and exceeded the error rate of human eye detection (5%). Compared with the original faster R-CNN algorithm of 84.39% and 85.12%, the improvement is 11.11% and 10.23%, respectively, which demonstrates superb feature extraction capability and reduces the occurrence of network errors and omissions. Solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source and solves today's energy and climate emergency. Near-perfect broadband solar absorbers can offer necessary technical assistance to follow this route and develop an effective solar energy-harvesting system. In this work, the metamaterial perfect absorber operating in the ultraviolet to the near-infrared spectral range was designed, consisting of a periodically aligned titanium (Ti) nanoarray coupled to an optical cavity. Through numerical simulations, the average absorption efficiency of the optimal parameter absorber can reach up to 99.84% in the 200–3000 nm broadband range. We show that the Ti pyramid's localized surface plasmon resonances, the intrinsic loss of the Ti material, and the coupling of resonance modes between two neighboring pyramids are highly responsible for this broadband perfect absorption effect. Additionally, we demonstrate that the absorber exhibits some excellent features desirable for the practical absorption and harvesting of solar energy, such as precision tolerance, polarization independence, and large angular acceptance. Neutrophils are involved in the development of endometritis, but it remains unknown how neutrophils induce inflammation and tissue damage. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) clear invading pathogens during infection but induce pyroptosis, leading to inflammation and tissue damage. Thus, our objective was to investigate whether NETs participate in bovine endometrial epithelial cell (BEEC) pyroptosis during endometritis. To confirm this, NETs and caspase-1/4; apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase-recruitment domain(ASC); nod-like receptor protein-3 (NLRP3); and gasdermin D N-terminal (GSDMD-N), TNF-a, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18 in endometrial tissue were detected. Pathological section and vaginal discharge smears were performed to visually determine endometritis in the uterus. BEECs were stimulated with NETs to induce pyroptosis, which was treated with DNase I against pyroptosis. Caspase-1/4, ASC, NLRP3, GSDMD-N, TNF-a, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18 in BEECs were analyzed in endometrial tissue. The results showed that NET formation, as well as pyroptosis-related proteins and proinflammatory, cytokines were elevated in the endometrial tissue of cows with endometritis. Pathological sections and vaginal discharge smears showed increased neutrophils and plasma cells in the uterus, as well as tissue congestion. In BEECs, NETs increased the level of pyroptosis-related proteins and proinflammatory cytokines and were diminished by DNase I. Ceramic adhesive structures have been increasingly used in aerospace applications. However, the peaks of the signal on the upper and lower surface of the adhesive layer are difficult to measure directly due to the thin thickness of the adhesive layer and the effect of the attenuation dispersion of the ceramic layer. Thus, the existing non-destructive testing techniques have been ineffective in detecting adhesive quality. In this paper, the thickness of the adhesive layer is measured using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. A sparse deconvolution method is proposed for the terahertz time-domain spectral signal of ceramic adhesive structures with different adhesive layer thicknesses. The results show that the methods proposed in this paper can realize the separation of reflection signals for glue layers with a thickness of 0.20 mm. By comparing with a wavelet denoising method and a modified covariance method (AR/MCM), the effectiveness of the sparse deconvolution method in estimating the thickness of the glue layer is demonstrated. Simple Summary: The progression of several inflammatory diseases, including endometritis, has been proven to be enhanced by the process of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation in pathogenesis. Therefore, averting the formation of NETs could be an effective method to combat endometritis. Cl-amidine has been reported to treat certain inflammatory diseases, but its therapeutic role in combating endometritis remains an enigma as it may likely attenuate NETs formation. Hence, we investigate the potential of NETs formation in the pathogenesis of endometritis using rats and the probable therapeutic indices of Cl-amidine against endometritis. It was revealed that LPS induced endometritis in rats, and the formation of NETs was detected in the rats' inflamed uterine tissues. The treatment with Cl-amidine showed the regression of LPS-induced endometritis and protection against uterine tissue damage. Cl-amidine effectively reduced the expression of specific proteins that could enhance the formation of NETs, thereby attenuating the inflammatory response to LPS-induced endometritis in rats. Our research showed that Cl-amidine possesses potentially therapeutic properties against endometritis. Endometritis is a common disease that affects the production in dairy cows and leads to severe losses in the dairy industry. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation promotes pathogenic invasions of the lumen of the tissue, leading to inflammatory diseases such as mastitis, pancreatitis, and septic infection. However, research that could show the relationship between NETs and endometritis is scarce. Cl-amidine has been shown to ameliorate the disease squealing and clinical manifestation in various disease models. In this study, we investigated the role of NETs in LPS-triggered endometritis in rats and evaluated the therapeutic efficiency of Cl-amidine. An LPS-induced endometritis model in rats was established and found that the formation of NETs can be detected in the rat's uterine tissues in vivo. In addition, Cl-amidine treatment can inhibit NETs construction in LPS-induced endometritis in rats. Myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity assay indicated that Cl-amidine treatment remarkably alleviated the inflammatory cell infiltrations and attenuated the damage to the uterine tissue. The Western blot results indicated that Cl-amidine decreased the expression of citrullinated Histone H3 (Cit-H3) and high-mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) protein in LPS-induced rat endometritis. The ELISA test indicated that Cl-amidine treatment significantly inhibited the expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. The NETs were determined by Quant-iTTMPicoGreen dsDNA kit®, which indicated that Cl-amidine significantly inhibited the NETs in rat serum. All results showed that Cl-amidine effectively reduced the expression of Cit-H3 and HMGB1 proteins by inhibiting the formation of NETs, thereby attenuating the inflammatory response to LPS-induced endometritis in rats. Simple Summary: The provision of updated information on the molecular pathogenesis of bovine endometritis with host-pathogen interactions and the possibility of exploring the cellular sensors mechanism in a nanotechnology-based drug delivery system against persistent endometritis were reported in this review. The mechanism of Gram-negative bacteria and their ligands has been vividly explored, with the paucity of research detail on Gram-positive bacteria in bovine endometritis. The function of cell receptors, biomolecules proteins, and sensors were reportedly essential in transferring signals into cell signaling pathways to induce immuno-inflammatory responses by elevating pro-inflammatory cytokines. Therefore, understanding endometrial cellular components and signaling mechanisms across pathogenesis are essential for nanotherapeutic exploration against bovine endometritis. In order to control and prevent bovine endometritis, there is a need to understand the molecular pathogenesis of the infectious disease. Bovine endometrium is usually invaded by a massive mobilization of microorganisms, especially bacteria, during postpartum dairy cows. Several reports have implicated the Gram-negative bacteria in the pathogenesis of bovine endometritis, with information dearth on the potentials of Gram-positive bacteria and their endotoxins. The invasive bacteria and their ligands pass through cellular receptors such as TLRs, NLRs, and biomolecular proteins of cells activate the specific receptors, which spontaneously stimulates cellular signaling pathways like MAPK, NF-kB and sequentially triggers upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The cascade of inflammatory induction involves a dual signaling pathway; the transcription factor NF-κB is released from its inhibitory molecule and can bind to various inflammatory genes promoter. The MAPK pathways are concomitantly activated, leading to specific phosphorylation of the NF-κB. The provision of detailed information on the molecular pathomechanism of bovine endometritis with the interaction between host endometrial cells and invasive bacteria in this review would widen the gap of exploring the potential of receptors and signal transduction pathways in nanotechnology-based drug delivery system. The nanotherapeutic discovery of endometrial cell receptors, signal transduction pathway, and cell biomolecules inhibitors could be developed for strategic inhibition of infectious signals at the various cell receptors and signal transduction levels, interfering on transcription factors activation and pro-inflammatory cytokines and genes expression, which may significantly protect endometrium against postpartum microbial invasion. Simple Summary: Cattle-yak milk is rich in numerous bioactive substances that function beyond their nutritive value. Given the high content of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), this exponent suggests a potential role for cattle-yak milk in preventing cancer, heart disease, and metabolic disorders, such as diabetes. It is expected to isolate probiotic strains with natural and excellent characteristics in optimizing human health. However, little research data and much fewer studies on probiotics from cattle-yak milk are reported. Therefore, in the present study, the beneficial strains from cattle-yak milk were identified to evaluate probiotic characteristics of potential strains, and to screen potential probiotics with an emphasis on making better use of milk in such extreme climatic environments. These findings support the potential application of cattle-yak milk in human health, animal food processing, and drug production in the future as a potential candidate for probiotics. Cattle-yak milk is an important raw material and an indispensable source of high-quality food for local farmers and herdsmen to produce ghee, milk residue, yogurt, and other dairy products. In this study, Lactobacillus strains were isolated from cattle-yak milk for potential probiotic candidates using a series of in vitro tests, including probiotic characterization and safety evaluation (antibiotic susceptibility and hemolytic ability). The results found that the Lactobacillusrhamnosus CY12 strain showed a high survival rate in bile salts, under acid conditions, and in the gastrointestinal juice environment, as well as showing high antimicrobial activity and adhesive potential. The safety evaluation showed that all strains were considered non-hemolytic. In addition, the whole-genome sequencing indicated that the strain CY12 spanned 2,506,167 bp, with an average length of 881 bp; the GC content in the gene region (%) was 47.35, contained 1347 protein-coding sequences, and accounted for 85.72% of the genome. The genome annotation showed that genes mainly focused on the immune system process, metabolic process, carbohydrate utilization, carbon metabolism, galactose metabolism, and biological adhesion, etc. This study revealed that the Lactobacillusrhamnosus CY12 strain might be an excellent potential probiotic in the development of feed additives for animals and has the ability to promote health. Endometritis is a major infectious disease affecting dairy development. MicroRNAs are recognized as critical regulators of the innate immune response. However, the role and mechanism of Bta-miR-24-3p in the development of endometritis are still unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Bta-miR-24-3p on the inflammatory response triggered by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and to clarify the possible mechanism. LPS-treated bovine endometrial epithelial cells (BEECs) were cultured to investigate the role of Bta-miR-24-3p. The expression levels of Bta-miR-24-3p were downregulated, and galectin-9 (LGALS9) were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The LPS-induced inflammatory response was assessed by the elevated secretion of inflammatory cytokines measured by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Activation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and TLR4 pathway was assessed by Western blot. The interaction between Bta-miR-24-3p and LGALS9 was validated by bioinformatics analysis and a luciferase reporter assay. LPS-induction in BEECs with Bta-miR-24-3p was overexpressed leads inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines, LGALS9 expression, and TLR4/NF-ĸB pathway deactivation. Knockdown of LGALS9 inhibited the LPS-induced inflammatory response in BEECs. LGALS9 was validated as a target of Bta-miR-24-3p. Cloned overexpression of LGALS9 failed to alter the effect of Bta-miR-24-3p on the inflammatory response in BEECs. Overall, Bta-miR-24-3p attenuated the LPS-induced inflammatory response via targeting LGALS9. The immunotherapeutic stabilisation of Bta-miR-24-3p could give a therapeutic option for endometritis and other disorders commonly associated with endometritis, suggesting a novel avenue for endometritis treatment. Plasmonic nanofluids have excellent optical properties in solar energy absorption and have been widely studied in solar thermal conversion technology. The absorption of the visible region of solar energy by ordinary metal nanoparticles is usually limited to a narrow resonance band, so it is necessary to enhance the coupling effect of nanoparticles in the visible spectrum region to improve absorption efficiency. However, it is still a difficult task to improve solar energy absorption by adjusting the structure and performance of nanoparticles. In this paper, a plasma dimer Ag nanoparticle is proposed to excite localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Compared with an ordinary Ag nanoparticle in the visible region, the plasmonic Ag dimer nanoparticle produces more absorption peaks and broader absorption bands, which can broaden solar energy absorption. By analyzing the electromagnetic field of the nanoparticle, the resonance mode of the plasma dimer is discussed. The effects of the geometric dimensions of the nanoparticle and the embedding of two spheres on the optical properties are studied. In addition, the effects of a trimer and its special structure on the optical properties are also analyzed.
