China implemented the China VI emission standard in 2020. The China VI emission standard has added requirements for the RDE (real-world driving emission) test. To evaluate vehicle CO2 emission for different vehicles, 10 conventional gasoline vehicles were tested under the RDE procedure using the PEMS (portable emission testing system) method. All vehicles tested meet the sixth emission regulation with a displacement of 1.4 L~2.0 L. Among the vehicles tested, the highest CO2 emission factor was 281 g/km and the lowest was 189 g/km, while the acceleration of RDE gets a wider distribution, varying from −2.5 m/s2 to 2.5 m/s2. The instantaneous mass emission rate could reach around 16 g/s. The amounts of total CO2 emission in the positive region and the negative region make up 82~89% and 11~18% of the overall CO2 emission during the entire RDE driving period, respectively. The same vehicle has a wide range of CO2 emission factors at different VSP (vehicle specific power) intervals. Different RDE test conditions can lead to large differences in CO2 emissions. Compressed natural gas (CNG) taxis represent the most ubiquitous and dynamically active passenger vehicles in urban settings. The pollutant emission characteristics of in-use CNG taxis driving on a typical mountain city before and after three-way catalyst (TWC) replacement was examined using a modular on-board portable emissions measurement system (PEMS), the OBS-ONE developed by Horiba. The results showed that the exhaust NO of CNG taxis equipped with deactivation TWC exceeded the emission limits, even higher than gasoline vehicles. The high emission rate of CNG taxis is mainly concentrated on road slopes between a 2% and 6% gradient and a deceleration rate in the interval of [0.5, 4], respectively, which results in higher emissions from CNG taxis traveling in the mountain city of Chongqing than other cities and vehicles. Moreover, the pollutant emission rates of the in-use CNG taxis were highly correlated with the velocity and the vehicle specific power (VSP). After a new TWC replacement, the emission factors of carbon monoxide (CO), total hydrocarbons (THC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particle number (PN) decreased by 85.21–89.11%, 68.71–85.49%, 60.91–81.11%, and 62.26–68.39%, respectively. Our results will provide guidance for urban environments to carry out the comprehensive management of in-use vehicles and emphasize the importance of TWC replacement for CNG taxis. Coalbed methane is a significant source of methane in the atmosphere, which is a potent greenhouse gas with a considerable contribution to global warming, thus it is of great importance to remove methane in coalbed gas before the emission. Exploring the economical non-noble metal catalysts for catalytic methane combustion (CMC) has been a wide concern to mitigate the greenhouse effect caused by the emitted low-concentration methane. Herein, a series of Mn-doped Co3O4 catalysts have been synthesized by the environmentally friendly solid-state method. As a result, the Mn0.05Co1 catalyst performed the best CMC activity (T90 = 370 °C) and good moisture tolerance (3 vol% steam). The introduction of an appropriate amount of manganese conduced Co3O4 lattice distortion and transformed Co3+ to Co2+, thus producing more active oxygen vacancies. Mn0.05Co1 exhibited better reducibility and oxygen mobility. In situ studies revealed that methane was adsorbed and oxidized much easier on Mn0.05Co1, which is the crucial reason for its superior catalytic performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, Cu-CeOx-MOF catalysts with well-dispersed Cu in different contents were synthesized via the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) grafting method. EDTA was grafted in Ce-MOF-808 to anchor Cu and then the metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were utilized as sacrificial template to form highly performed Cu-CeOx-MOF for toluene catalytic combustion. In this series of samples, Cu-CeOx-MOF-0.2 had a higher ratio of Oα/(Oα+Oβ), more oxygen vacancies and performed better low-temperature reducibility. Cu-CeOx-MOF-0.2 showed outstanding catalytic activity and stability. The T90 (temperature when toluene conversion achieved 90%) of Cu-CeOx-MOF-0.2 was 226 °C at 60,000 mL/(gcat∙h). In situ diffuse reflectance infrared transform spectroscopy (in situ DRIFTS) results revealed that the opening of aromatic ring and the deep oxidation of carboxylate were key steps for toluene catalytic combustion over Cu-CeOx-MOF-0.2. To improve propane combustion activity and illustrate the promotional effects of molybdenum doping, Pt-Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts with different Mo amounts were prepared by the co-impregnation method. XRD, Raman, H2-TPR, NH3-TPD, in situ DRIFTs, XPS and other characterizations were performed. The results indicated that the concentration of Pt0 in Pt/ZSM-5 catalyst increased after the doping of Mo and the content of Pt0 had a positive correlation with the reaction turnover frequency value. The propane combustion activity of Pt/ZSM-5 catalyst was significantly improved after the doping of molybdenum species. Among all the catalysts, Pt-6Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst (Pt/ZSM-5 with 6 wt.% Mo modification) showed the lowest T50 and T90 for propane catalytic combustion. Zirconia has recently been used as an efficient catalyst in the conversion of syngas. The crystalline phases of ZrO2 in ZrO2/HZSM-5 bi-functional catalysts have important effects on C–O activation and C–C coupling in converting syngas into aromatics and been investigated in this work. Monoclinic ZrO2 (m-ZrO2) and tetragonal ZrO2 (t-ZrO2) were synthesized by hydrothermal and chemical precipitation methods, respectively. The results of in situ diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTs) revealed that there were more active hydroxyl groups existing on the surface of m-ZrO2, and CO temperature programmed desorption (CO-TPD) results indicated that the CO adsorption capacity of m-ZrO2 was higher than that of t-ZrO2, which can facilitate the C–O activation of m-ZrO2 for syngas conversion compared to that of t-ZrO2. And the CO conversion on the m-ZrO2 catalyst was about 50% more than that on the t-ZrO2 catalyst. 31P and 13C magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR) analysis revealed a higher acid and base density of m-ZrO2 than that of t-ZrO2, which enhanced the C–C coupling. The selectivity to CH4 on the m-ZrO2 catalyst was about 1/5 of that on the t-ZrO2 catalyst in syngas conversion. The selectivity to C2+ hydrocarbons over m-ZrO2 or t-ZrO2 as well as the proximity of the ZrO2 sample and HZSM-5 greatly affected the further aromatization in converting syngas into aromatics. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have recently been used as precursors of the catalysts for the combustion of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In the present work, three kinds of CeO2 catalysts were successfully synthesized from Ce-MOF-808, Ce-BTC, and Ce-UiO-66, with specific topological structures and coordinate environments. Catalysts with small particle size, stacking mode, and structural defects could be created by pyrolysis of Ce-MOFs, which affects the activity in the toluene combustion significantly. Raman spectra, XPS, and OSC studies were performed to reveal the formation of defect sites. The thermal redox properties were determined by H2-TPR. Catalytic activity tests were conducted on the toluene combustion, and CeO2-MOF-808 showed the best catalytic performance (T90 = 278 °C) due to its having the largest specific surface area, abundant active surface oxygen species, and low-temperature reducibility.
