The effective welding of a 6 mm thick TA2 pure titanium medium-thickness plate was achieved by laser–arc hybrid welding (LAHW) with helium–argon mixed shielding gas. Conducted research on the influence of helium–argon mixed shielding gas on plasma and arc characteristics during welding, and its further impact on the microstructure, internal porosity defects, tensile properties, and corrosion resistance of welded joints was explored. The study demonstrated that under the shielding gas with 75% helium, the arc width narrowed significantly from 6.96 mm to 2.61 mm, achieving a 63% reduction, which enhanced the concentration of arc heat flux density. Achieved a well-formed weld with no surface spatter and significantly reduced the internal porosity rate from 3.02% to 0.47%, which is an 84% decrease. Tensile fractures are located in the base material, all exhibiting plastic failure. Probe-based confocal laser endoscopy (pCLE) has emerged as a powerful tool for disease diagnosis, yet it faces challenges such as the formation of hexagonal patterns in images due to the inherent characteristics of fiber bundles. Recent advancements in deep learning offer promise in image denoising, but the acquisition of clean-noisy image pairs for training networks across all potential scenarios can be prohibitively costly. Few studies have explored training denoising networks on such pairs. Here, we propose an innovative self-supervised denoising method. Our approach integrates noise prediction networks, image quality assessment networks, and denoising networks in a collaborative, jointly trained manner. Compared to prior self-supervised denoising methods, our approach yields superior results on pCLE images and fluorescence microscopy images. In summary, our novel self-supervised denoising technique enhances image quality in pCLE diagnosis by leveraging the synergy of noise prediction, image quality assessment, and denoising networks, surpassing previous methods on both pCLE and fluorescence microscopy images. Simple Summary: The development of novel cancer treatment techniques is essential because malignant tumors represent a severe threat to human life and health. By inhibiting immunological sites and chimeric antigen receptors, tumor immunotherapy is becoming more and more significant. There are several immune cells linked to tumors, and NK cells are one type that is being utilized more and more in therapeutic settings because of the inherent benefits. Additionally, the anti-tumor immune response and NK cell-tracking ability are improved by the use of nanomaterials. In order to accomplish the combined application of NK cells and nanomaterials, this review will concentrate on the immunological application and imaging study of nanoparticles on NK cells. The prognosis for cancer patients has declined dramatically in recent years due to the challenges in treating malignant tumors. Tumor immunotherapy, which includes immune target inhibition and chimeric antigen receptor cell treatment, is currently evolving quickly. Among them, natural killer (NK) cells are gradually becoming another preferred cell immunotherapy after T cell immunotherapy due to their unique killing effects in innate and adaptive immunity. NK cell therapy has shown encouraging outcomes in clinical studies; however, there are still some problems, including limited efficacy in solid tumors, inadequate NK cell penetration, and expensive treatment expenses. Noteworthy benefits of nanomaterials include their chemical specificity, biocompatibility, and ease of manufacturing; these make them promising instruments for enhancing NK cell anti-tumor immune responses. Nanomaterials can promote NK cell homing and infiltration, participate in NK cell modification and non-invasive cell tracking and imaging modes, and greatly increase the effectiveness of NK cell immunotherapy. The introduction of NK cell-based immunotherapy research and a more detailed discussion of nanomaterial research in NK cell-based immunotherapy and molecular imaging will be the main topics of this review. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of aspirin eugenol ester (AEE) on liver oxidative damage and energy metabolism in immune-stressed broilers. In total, 312 broilers were divided into 4 groups (saline, LPS, SAEE, and LAEE). Broilers in the saline and LPS groups were fed a basal diet; the SAEE and LAEE groups had an added 0.01% AEE in their diet. Broilers in the LPS and LAEE groups were injected with lipopolysaccharides, while the saline and SAEE groups were injected with saline. Results showed that AEE increased the body weight, average daily gain, and average daily feed intake, as well as decreasing the feed conversion ratio of immune-stressed broilers. AEE protects against oxidative damage in immune-stressed broiler livers by elevating the total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase activity, and glutathione S-transferase alpha 3 (GSTA3) and glutaredoxin 2 (GLRX2) expression, while decreasing malondialdehyde content. AEE lessened inflammation by reducing prostaglandin-F2α production and prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1β) expression. AEE decreased oxidative phosphorylation rates by increasing succinic acid levels and lowering both adenosine diphosphate (ADP) levels and ceroid lipofuscinosis neuronal 5 (CLN5) expression. AEE modulated the metabolism of phenylalanine, tyrosine, lipids, and cholesterol by reducing the phenyllactate and L-arogenate levels, lowering dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) and apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4) expression, and increasing phenylpyruvic acid and dopa decarboxylase (DDC) expression. Research on the electrical properties of rocks and ores plays a crucial role in the development of geophysical electromagnetism methods. However, currently available instruments suffer from high power consumption, a limited number of electrodes, inaccurate measurements, poor portability, and a limited ability to measure the electrical parameters of rocks and ores. To address these issues, this paper presents a three-dimensional electrical impedance tomography system for rock samples with high-density microelectrodes based on an Android system and STM32 microcontroller. The system features high observation accuracy, dense electrode arrays (with 384 current and potential electrodes), flexible electrode selection, user-friendly human–computer interaction, good stability, and real-time performance. Powered by a single power bank, the entire instrument can be controlled and monitored wirelessly via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology using an Android smartphone. Additionally, the system not only enables accurate measurement of electrical parameters, but also facilitates the generation of three-dimensional impedance imaging of specimens via inversion algorithms after data export, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the electrical properties of rocks and ores. Probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) is a subcellular in vivo imaging technique that generates diagnostic images revealing malignant structural modifications in epithelial tissues. In the clinical diagnosis of probe confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE), the image background generally has the problems of dynamic blur or information loss, which is not conducive to achieving high-resolution and clear pCLE imaging. In recent years, deep learning technology has achieved remarkable results in image deblurring. For the task of recovering high-resolution pCLE images, the current methods still suffer from the following drawbacks: it is difficult to choose a strategy to make CNN converge at a deeper level and mainstream methods cannot handle the complex balance between spatial details and high-level feature information well when reconstructing clear images. In order to solve the problem, we propose a new cross-channel attention, multistage, high-resolution pCLE image deblurring structure. This methodology improves the supervised attention mechanism, enhances the ability of feature extraction and fusion capabilities, and improves the quality of image deblurring by adding cross-channel attention module (CAM) into the multistage neural networks' architecture. The experimental results show that the average peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the proposed model on the dataset is as high as 29.643 dB, and the structural similarity (SSIM) reaches 0.855. The extremely harsh environment of the high temperature plasma imposes strict requirements on the construction materials of the first wall in a fusion reactor. In this work, a refractory alloy system, WTaVTiZrx, with low activation and high entropy, was theoretically designed based on semi-empirical formula and produced using a laser cladding method. The effects of Zr proportions on the metallographic microstructure, phase composition, and alloy chemistry of a high-entropy alloy cladding layer were investigated using a metallographic microscope, XRD (X-ray diffraction), SEM (scanning electron microscope), and EDS (energy dispersive spectrometer), respectively. The high-entropy alloys have a single-phase BCC structure, and the cladding layers exhibit a typical dendritic microstructure feature. The evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of the high-entropy alloys, with respect to annealing temperature, was studied to reveal the performance stability of the alloy at a high temperature. The microstructure of the annealed samples at 900 °C for 5–10 h did not show significant changes compared to the as-cast samples, and the microhardness increased to 988.52 HV, which was higher than that of the as-cast samples (725.08 HV). When annealed at 1100 °C for 5 h, the microstructure remained unchanged, and the microhardness increased. However, after annealing for 10 h, black substances appeared in the microstructure, and the microhardness decreased, but it was still higher than the matrix. When annealed at 1200 °C for 5–10 h, the microhardness did not increase significantly compared to the as-cast samples, and after annealing for 10 h, the microhardness was even lower than that of the as-cast samples. The phase of the high entropy alloy did not change significantly after high-temperature annealing, indicating good phase stability at high temperatures. After annealing for 10 h, the microhardness was lower than that of the as-cast samples. Magnetic fields play an important role in regulating plant growth and development, especially in improving plant stress tolerance. However, the physiological mechanism underlying the magnetic effects is still unclear. Here, we examined changes in reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and ion flux in poplar (Populus × deltoides 'Lulin-2') seedling roots under salt stress in a static magnetic field (SMF). SMF treatment significantly increased seedling growth and mitigated the effects of salt stress on root growth. Furthermore, SMF treatment activated ROS and calcium signals in poplar roots. Relative to the SMF treatment group, control plants had significantly higher levels of cytoplasmic free Ca2+ ([Ca2+]cyt) and ROS following exposure to high salt concentrations. Under salt conditions, SMF treatment reduced increases in Na+ concentrations and maintained stable K+ and Ca2+ concentrations and K+/Na+ and Ca2+/Na+ ratios. NMT analysis suggests that SMF treatment may drive cation effluxes in poplar seedling roots. Susceptibility tests of Na+-transport inhibitors indicated that SMF treatment contributed to Na+ repulsion and H+ uptake under salt stress. Moreover, SMF exposure allowed roots to retain the ability to reduce salt-induced K+ and Ca2+ root effluxes, and qRT-PCR results demonstrate that SMF treatment can increase the expression of stress-responsive genes such as PtrRBOHF, PtrNHX1 and PtrHA5 in poplar seedlings. Therefore, we conclude that treating poplar seedlings with SMF can help them establish a stable tolerance to salt stress by regulating ROS, [Ca2+]cyt, and their regulatory networks. This paper proposes an energy-saving lane-changing trajectory model for intelligent electric vehicles at high speeds that considers different driving needs under multiple constraints to address the issues of simple lane-changing considerations and poor safety. An economic index is added to construct a multi-objective optimization function based on the comfort, safety, and efficiency of lane changing. The particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the optimal lane-changing time. The weight of the index is obtained by analyzing different driving needs using the Analytic Hierarchy Process in different scenarios. The multi-objective function is adjusted to plan the optimal lane-changing trajectory that meets driving needs. The simulation shows that the proposed model can generate smooth and feasible lane-changing trajectories that meet different driving needs. The energy consumption analysis results indicate that the construction of economic indicators can effectively reduce the energy consumption of vehicles driving on highways. The tracking analysis results indicate that the target vehicle can smoothly and safely change lanes on the planned trajectory, verifying the effectiveness and rationality of the planned trajectory. Plasticizers are a type of toxic substance that may remain in food, posing significant health risks including carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic, and other adverse effects. In this study, a novel strategy was employed by combining Pt@Au nanozymes with high catalytic properties to created two catalytic signal probes, designated as Pt@Au@Ab1 and Pt@Au@Ab2, specifically designed for the detection of dimethyl phthalate (DMP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). These catalytic signal probes served as the foundation for the development of a colorimetric immunoassay, enabling the simultaneous detection of both DMP and DBP. The colorimetric immunoassay is capable of detecting DMP in the range of 0.5–100 μg/L with a limit of detection as low as 0.1 μg/L and DBP in the range of 1–32 μg/L with a low limit of detection of 0.5 μg/L. The developed immunoassay can be used for the determination of the DMP and DBP in baijiu and plastic bottled drinks. The recovery rate is in the range of 96.4% and 100.5% and the coefficient of variation is between 1.0% and 7.2%. Antimony (Sb) is a potential candidate anode for potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) owing to its high theoretical capacity. However; in the process of potassium alloying reaction; the huge volume expansion (about 407%) leads to pulverization of active substance as well as loss of electrical contact resulting in rapidly declining capacity. Herein; uniformly dispersed Sb-Nanodot in carbon frameworks (Sb-ND@C) were constructed by in situ confined polymerization of ionic liquids. Attributed to the uniformly dispersed Sb-ND and confinement effect of carbon frameworks; as anode for PIBs; Sb-ND@C delivered a superior rate capability (320.1 mA h g−1 at 5 A g−1) and an outstanding cycling stability (486 mA h g−1 after 1000 cycles; achieving 89.8% capacity retention). Seabed trenches reduce anchor capacity. However, the adverse influence is not considered in the current design, and no guideline is found in engineering practice. This paper presents a framework for mooring and anchor design in sand considering seabed trenches based on floater hydrodynamics. First, a hydrodynamic calculation of the studied floater coupled with the mooring system was conducted. Then, the potential trench profile was assessed using a mooring line–seabed dynamic model. Third, after assessing the suction anchor performance based on its installation and capacity, a refined anchor, caisson–plate gravity anchor (CPGA), was proposed, and the capacity mechanisms were analyzed. It was found that the tensions of mooring lines l1 and l2 resist maximum loads under a 45° load condition. Due to the sand's high strength, a trench is difficult to form in this mooring type. The suction anchor is not suitable as an anchor for the carbonate sand, considering its installation and capacity. The analyses indicate that the increase in soil stress and soil mobilized range in front of the caisson promotes the capacity of CPGA. In order to improve the accuracy of the segmentation of buildings with small sample sizes, this paper proposes a building-segmentation network, ResFAUnet, with transfer learning and multi-scale feature fusion. The network is based on AttentionUnet. The backbone of the encoder is replaced by the ResNeXt101 network for feature extraction, and the attention mechanism of the skip connection is preserved to fuse the shallow features of the encoding part and the deep features of the decoding part. In the decoder, the feature-pyramid structure is used to fuse the feature maps of different scales. More features can be extracted from limited image samples. The proposed network is compared with current classical semantic segmentation networks, Unet, SuUnet, FCN, and SegNet. The experimental results show that in the dataset selected in this paper, the precision indicators of ResFAUnet are improved by 4.77%, 2.3%, 2.11%, and 1.57%, respectively, compared with the four comparison networks. Simple Summary: Putrescine plays a vital role in various biological processes. However, there is little emphasis on the effect of putrescine on meat quality in broilers. This study demonstrated that broilers fed diet supplemented with 0.05% putrescine showed higher average daily gain. In addition, dietary supplementation with 0.05% putrescine increased the contents of essential amino acids but reduced the saturated fatty acids level in muscle. These results indicated that dietary supplementation with putrescine is an effective strategy to improve the growth performance and meat quality of broilers. This study was to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with putrescine on the growth performance and meat quality of chickens. A total of 480 eighty-day-old female Wenchang chickens were randomly assigned into four groups, with 8 replications per group and 15 animals per replicate. The chickens in the control group (Con) were fed a basal diet; the 3 experimental groups were fed a basal diet with 0.01%, 0.03%, and 0.05% putrescine, respectively. The experiment lasted for 40 days. The results showed that dietary supplementation with 0.05% putrescine increased (p < 0.05) the final body weight and average daily weight gain, and decreased the ratio of feed intake to the body weight gain of Wenchang chickens. Dietary supplementation with putrescine decreased the concentrations of putrescine, spermidine, and spermine in serum (p < 0.05). The contents of methionine, phenylalanine, lysine, aspartic acid, tyrosine, total essential amino acids, and total amino acids in breast muscle were higher (p < 0.05) in 0.03% and 0.05% groups than those in Con group. However, the contents of undecanoic acid, lauric acid, tridecanoic acid, myristic acid, pentadecanoic acid, arachidic acid, docosanoic acid, tricosanic acid, lignoceric acid, erucic acid, cis-11,14,17-eicosatrienoate, linoleic acid, and total n-6 monounsaturated fatty acids in breast muscle were lower (p < 0.05) in 0.03% and 0.05% groups than those in Con group. In addition, putrescine supplementation decreased (p < 0.05) the ratio of n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast meat. Combining the advantages of a wet chemical method and spark plasma sintering, carbide-doped materials W-1wt%TiC and W-1wt%ZrC were prepared. Microstructural evolution in W-1wt%TiC and W-1wt%ZrC under irradiation of 5 keV He+ at 600 °C to fluences up to 5.0 × 1021 ions/m2 with ion flux of about 8.8 × 1017 ions/m2s was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The dislocation loop number density of W-1wt%TiC was higher than that of W-1wt%ZrC, but the average loop size of the W-1wt%TiC was in average smaller. There were no observable helium bubbles in W-1wt%TiC and W-1wt%ZrC, exhibiting higher radiation resistance to He+ compared to pure W. He+ pre-damaged and undamaged W-1wt%TiC and W-1wt%ZrC samples were irradiated by 5 keV D2+ to estimate the D retention in doped W materials. The irradiation damage impact of He+ on deuterium retention was examined by a method of thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS). A news-recommendation system is designed to deal with massive amounts of news and provide personalized recommendations for users. Accurately modeling of news and users is the key to news recommendation. Researchers usually use auxiliary information such as social networks or item attributes to learn about news and user representation. However, existing recommendation systems neglect to explore the rich topics in the news. This paper considered the knowledge graph as the source of side information. Meanwhile, we used user topic preferences to improve recommendation performance. We proposed a new framework called NRTEH that was based on topic and entity preferences in user historical behavior. The core of our approach was the news encoder and the user encoder. Two encoders in NRTEH handled news titles from two perspectives to obtain news and user representation embedding: (1) extracting explicit and latent topic features from news and mining user preferences for them; and (2) extracting entities and propagating users' potential preferences in the knowledge graph. Flowering and bud dormancy are crucial stages in the life cycle of perennial angiosperms in temperate climates. MADS-box family genes are involved in many plant growth and development processes. Here, we identified three MADS-box genes in tea plant belonging to the FLOWERING LOCUS C (CsFLC) family. We monitored CsFLC1 transcription throughout the year and found that CsFLC1 was expressed at a higher level during the winter bud dormancy and flowering phases. To clarify the function of CsFLC1, we developed transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants heterologously expressing 35S::CsFLC1. These lines bolted and bloomed earlier than the WT (Col-0), and the seed germination rate was inversely proportional to the increased CsFLC1 expression level. The RNA-seq of 35S::CsFLC1 transgenic Arabidopsis showed that many genes responding to ageing, flower development and leaf senescence were affected, and phytohormone-related pathways were especially enriched. According to the results of hormone content detection and RNA transcript level analysis, CsFLC1 controls flowering time possibly by regulating SOC1, AGL42, SEP3 and AP3 and hormone signaling, accumulation and metabolism. This is the first time a study has identified FLC-like genes and characterized CsFLC1 in tea plant. Our results suggest that CsFLC1 might play dual roles in flowering and winter bud dormancy and provide new insight into the molecular mechanisms of FLC in tea plants as well as other plant species. Thermoelectric harvesting technology is a clean and friendly energy-conversion technology. In the π-type traditional thermoelectric module (TEM), n- and p-type thermoelectric legs are electrically connected in a series to generate large temperature differences in the heat flow direction and to achieve a better module performance. However, damages to one thermoelectric leg could lead to the failure of the thermoelectric system. This work proposes a novel forked-finger electrode-structured thermoelectric module (FFTEM), which enables a simultaneous parallel electrical connection and thermal transfer in a homogeneous material's thermoelectric leg set. The four thermoelectric legs share a common pair of electrodes, and this parallel structure makes the FFTEM benefit from low internal resistance, a high operating current, and high output power. The internal resistance and output power of the TEM are 4.25 mΩ and 1.766 mW, respectively, at a temperature difference of 40 °C. The internal resistance of the FFTEM is reduced to 0.81 mΩ, and the output power is increased to 13.81 mW. The FFTEM's maximum output power achieved under temperature-dependent conditions is nine times that of the TEM's output power. In order to achieve the best obstacle surmounting performance of a mobile robot in the rescue environment, a four-track twin-rocker bionic rescue robot with an inner and outer concentric shaft was designed in this paper. From the viewpoint of dynamics, the motion process of the mass center of the robot when climbing steps forward and backward was studied. The maximum obstacle height of the robot was calculated. The relationship between the elevation angle of the car body, the swing angle of the rocker arm and the height of the steps was analyzed by simulation. The simulation results show that the maximum forward and reverse obstacle crossing heights were 92.99 mm and 155.82 mm, respectively. Obstacle climbing experiments of the designed robot prototype were carried out. It was found that the measured maximum height of the step was 95 mm, and the measured maximum height of the reverse obstacle was 165 mm. Finally, bionic particle swarm optimization was used to optimize the structural parameters of the rocker arm with an optimal length of 315.2 mm. In the past few years, non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite communication constellations have regained popularity due to their conspicuous advantages. Nevertheless, with more NGSO satellites getting involved in communications, the spectrum resources should become much more scarce. Multi-beam high throughput satellite and spectrum sharing are two major techniques in communication design. The two techniques can significantly mitigate interference and highly augment the capacity of the communication system. Thus, they are commonly used in satellite communication systems nowadays. With a massive number of NGSO satellites comprising the communication system and moving in their orbits, interference scenarios are pretty complex. In this article, the relationship between the level of interference and the beam distance is deduced. Moreover, for beams with different tilting angles, the different off-axis angles may correspond to the same beam distance, which is directly related to the interference level. Through the interference analysis, we propose a channel allocation method that uses a beam search algorithm to optimize the channel allocation problem and achieves outstanding time efficiency. The performance of the proposed method is validated by a coexisting scenario of the geostationary orbit and NGSO satellite communication systems. The accurate prediction of mine surface subsidence is directly related to the reuse area of land resources. Currently, the probability integral method is the most extensive method of surface subsidence prediction in China. However, its prediction precision largely depends on the accuracy of the selected parameters. When the mining area lacks measured data, or the geological and mining conditions change, particularly for large-scale surface subsidence prediction, the reliability of the prediction of surface subsidence is poor. Moreover, there is a lack of a systematic summary of the correct selection of prediction parameters. Based on this, the paper systematically investigated the influence of geological and mining conditions on the prediction parameters of the probability integral method. Navigation is necessary for autonomous mobile robots that need to track the roads in outdoor environments. These functions could be achieved by fusing data from costly sensors, such as GPS/IMU, lasers and cameras. In this paper, we propose a novel method for road detection and road following without prior knowledge, which is more suitable with small single lane roads. The proposed system consists of a road detection system and road tracking system. A color-based road detector and a texture line detector are designed separately and fused to track the target in the road detection system. The top middle area of the road detection result is regarded as the road-following target and is delivered to the road tracking system for the robot. The road tracking system maps the tracking position in camera coordinates to position in world coordinates, which is used to calculate the control commands by the traditional tracking controllers. The robustness of the system is enhanced with the development of an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF). The UKF estimates the best road borders from the measurement and presents a smooth road transition between frame to frame, especially in situations such as occlusion or discontinuous roads. The system is tested to achieve a recognition rate of about 98.7% under regular illumination conditions and with minimal road-following error within a variety of environments under various lighting conditions. (1) Background: As a novel type of non-coding RNA with a stable closed-loop structure, circular RNA (circRNA) can interact with microRNA (miRNA) and influence the expression of miRNA target genes. However, circRNA involved in pituitary growth hormone (GH) regulation is poorly understood. Our previous study revealed protein kinase C alpha (PRKCA) as the target gene of miR-709. Currently, the expression and function of rno_circRNA_0001004 in the rat pituitary gland is not clarified; (2) Methods: In this study, both bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase report assays showed a target relationship between rno_circRNA_0001004 and miR-709. Furthermore, the rno_circRNA_0001004 overexpression vector and si-circ_0001004 were constructed and transfected into GH3 cells; (3) Results: We found that rno_circRNA_0001004 expression was positively correlated with the PRKCA gene and GH expression levels, while it was negatively correlated with miR-709. In addition, overexpression of rno-circ_0001004 also promoted proliferation and relieved the inhibition of miR-709 in GH3 cells; (4) Conclusions: Our findings show that rno_circ_0001004 acts as a novel sponge for miR-709 to regulate GH synthesis and cell proliferation, and are the first case of discovery of the regulatory role of circRNA_0001004 in pituitary GH. Here, we report the immobilization of Co-protoporphyrin IX (Co-PPIX) substituted cytochrome c (Co-cyt c) on Antimony-doped Tin Oxide (ATO) as a catalyst for photoelectrochemical oxidation of water. Under visible light irradiation (λ > 450 nm), the ATO-Co-cyt c photoanode displays ~6-fold enhancement in photocurrent density relative to ATO-Co-PPIX at 0.25 V vs. RHE at pH 5.0. The light-induced water oxidation activity of the system was demonstrated by detecting evolved stoichiometric oxygen by gas chromatography, and incident photon to current efficiency was measured as 4.1% at 450 nm. The faradaic efficiency for the generated oxygen was 97%, with a 671 turnover number (TON) for oxygen. The current density had a slow decay over the course of 6 h of constant irradiation and applied potential, which exhibits the robustness of catalyst-ATO interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

By frequency-band extracting, we experimentally and theoretically investigate time-delay signature (TDS) suppression and entropy growth enhancement of a chaotic optical-feedback semiconductor laser under different injection currents and feedback strengths. The TDS and entropy growth are quantified by the peak value of autocorrelation function and the difference of permutation entropy at the feedback delay time. At the optimal extracting bandwidth, the measured TDS is suppressed up to 96% compared to the original chaos, and the entropy growth is higher than the noise-dominated threshold, indicating that the dynamical process is noisy. The effects of extracting bandwidth and radio frequencies on the TDS and entropy growth are also clarified experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results are in good agreements with the theoretical results. The skewness of the laser intensity distribution is effectively improved to 0.001 with the optimal extracting bandwidth. This technique provides a promising tool to extract randomness and prepare desired entropy sources for chaotic secure communication and random number generation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper proposes a new Image-to-Image Translation (Pix2Pix) enabled deep learning method for traveling wave-based fault location. Unlike the previous methods that require a high sampling frequency of the PMU, the proposed method can translate the scale 1 detail component image provided by the low frequency PMU data to higher frequency ones via the Pix2Pix. This allows us to significantly improve the fault location accuracy. Test results via the YOLO v3 object recognition algorithm show that the images generated by pix2pix can be accurately identified. Retrieving information concerning the interior of the ocean using satellite remote sensing data has a major impact on studies of ocean dynamic and climate changes; however, the lack of information within the ocean limits such studies about the global ocean. In this paper, an artificial neural network, combined with satellite data and gridded Argo product, is used to estimate the ocean heat content (OHC) anomalies over four different depths down to 2000 m covering the near-global ocean, excluding the polar regions. Our method allows for the temporal hindcast of the OHC to other periods beyond the 2005–2018 training period. By applying an ensemble technique, the hindcasting uncertainty could also be estimated by using different 9-year periods for training and then calculating the standard deviation across six ensemble members. This new OHC product is called the Ocean Projection and Extension neural Network (OPEN) product. The accuracy of the product is accessed using the coefficient of determination (R2) and the relative root-mean-square error (RRMSE). The feature combinations and network architecture are optimized via a series of experiments. Overall, intercomparison with several routinely analyzed OHC products shows that the OPEN OHC has an R2 larger than 0.95 and an RRMSE of <0.20 and presents notably accurate trends and variabilities. Studying the influence of the demand response and dynamic characteristics of the battery energy storage on the configuration and optimal operation of battery energy storage system (BESS) in the Wind-Photovoltaic (PV)-Energy Storage (ES) hybrid microgrid. A demand response model that is based on electricity price elasticity is established based on the time-of-use price. Take the capital-operating cost and direct economic benefit of the BESS and the loss of abandoned photovoltaic and wind power as the optimization objective, an optimal configuration method that considers the dynamic characteristics of the BESS and the maximum absorption of photovoltaic and wind power is proposed while using particle swarm optimization to solve. The results show that the configuration results considering the demand side response of the microgrid BESS can obtain better economy and reduce the storage capacity requirement, and the result shows that the efficiency of BESS relates to the load of the system, the distributed generation (DG) characteristics, and the dynamic characteristics of BESS. Infection with canine heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis), spread via mosquito vectors, causes coughing, asthma, pneumonia, and bronchitis in humans and other animals. The disease is especially severe and often fatal in dogs and represents a serious threat to public health worldwide. Cysteine protease inhibitors (CPIs), also known as cystatins, are major immunomodulators of the host immune response during nematode infections. Herein, we cloned and expressed the cystatin Di-CPI from D. immitis. Sequence analysis revealed two specific cystatin-like domains, a Q-x-V-x-G motif, and a SND motif. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that Di-CPI is a member of the second subgroup of nematode type II cystatins. Probing of D. immitis total proteins with anti-rDi-CPI polyclonal antibody revealed a weak signal, and immunofluorescence-based histochemical analysis showed that native Di-CPI is mainly localized in the cuticle of male and female worms and the gut of male worms. Treatment of canine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PMBCs) with recombinant Di-CPI induced a Th2-type immune response characterized by high expression of the anti-inflammatory factor interleukin-10. Proliferation assays showed that Di-CPI inhibits the proliferation of canine PMBCs by 15%. Together, the results indicate that Di-CPI might be related to cellular hyporesponsiveness in dirofilariasis and may help D. immitis to evade the host immune system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The transcellular transport and metabolism of eight green tea catechins (GTCs) were studied in Caco-2 monolayers, with the aim of investigating the effect of cis–trans isomerism on the membrane permeability and biotransformation of GTCs. The results showed that the catechin stereochemistry significantly affects the efflux transport rather than the absorption transport in the Caco-2 monolayers. The trans catechins showed a better transcellular permeability than their corresponding cis (epi) catechins in the efflux transport, as the efflux amount of trans catechins were all significantly higher than that of the cis (epi) catechins at each concentration and each time point tested. Moreover, the relative contents of the (+)-catechin (C)-O-sulfate, (+)-gallocatechin (GC)-O-sulfate, (−)-catechin gallate (CG)-O-sulfate, and (−)-gallocatechin gallate (GCG)-O-sulfate in the efflux transport were 2.67, 16.08, 50.48, and 31.54 times higher than that of the (−)-epicatechin (EC)-O-sulfate, (−)-epigallocatechin (EGC)-O-sulfate, (−)-epicatechin gallate (ECG)-O-sulfate, and (−)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)-O-sulfate, respectively. It indicated that more metabolites were observed after the transcellular efflux of trans catechins. Furthermore, after two hours of incubation, the GTCs could significantly increase the expression of multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (MRP2) and breast cancer-resistance protein (BCRP), and decrease the expression of P-glycoprotein in the Caco-2 cells. The regulation of GTCs on P-glycoprotein, MRP2, and BCRP could also be significantly influenced by the chemical and dimensional structure. The growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor 1 (GH/IGF-1) axis has recently been recognized as an important factor related to the longevity of many organisms. MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) could also participate in diverse biological processes. However, the role of miRNAs in the decline of pituitary GH during the growth process remains unclear. To better characterize the effects of miRNAs on the pituitary, we used a miRNA microarray to investigate the miRNA profile in the rat pituitary from postnatal development throughout the growth process. Then, in vitro experiments were conducted to analyze the miRNAs’ potential roles related to GH regulation. Taken together, the microarray results indicated that there were 22 miRNAs differentially expressed during pituitary development. The bioinformatics analysis suggested that the most differentially expressed miRNAs may participate in multiple pathways associated with the pituitary function. Coatings of hierarchically meso-macroporous antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) enable interfacing adsorbed species, such as biomacromolecules, with an electronic circuit. The coating thickness is a limiting factor for the surface coverage of adsorbates, that are electrochemically addressable. To overcome this challenge, a carbon black-based templating method was developed by studying the composition of the template system, and finding the right conditions for self-standing templates, preventing the reaction mixture from flowing out of the mask. The thicknesses of as-fabricated coatings were measured using stylus profilometry to establish a relationship between the mask thickness and the coating thickness. Cyclic voltammetry was performed on coatings with adsorbed cytochrome c to check whether the entire coating thickness was electrochemically addressable. Further, bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers were incorporated into the coatings, and photocurrent with respect to coating thickness was studied. The template mixture required enough of both carbon black and polymer, roughly 7% carbon black and 6% poly(ethylene glycol). Coatings were fabricated with thicknesses approaching 30 µm, and thickness was shown to be controllable up to at least 15 µm. Under the experimental conditions, photocurrent was found to increase linearly with the coating thickness, up to around 12 µm, above which were diminished gains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
