To cope with harsh working conditions, new corrosion-resistant coated steel wires with higher tensile strength have been developed. This study investigates the corrosion characteristics of a new zinc–aluminum alloy-coated steel wire under stress conditions. The particulate corrosion products generated by the oxidation of the coating in the initial stage of corrosion are converted into layer-structured corrosion products at the early stage of corrosion. Moreover, high-stress conditions have a significant influence on the critical conversion time from the coating corrosion stage to the iron matrix corrosion stage. Thus, the uniform corrosion depth (i.e., the mass loss rate) could be fitted with a continuous power function model rather than the previously used two-stage model owing to an ambiguous moment of conversion under stress conditions. The pitting corrosion depth could be fitted with a lognormal distribution in this study. The probability distributions for the aspect ratios of corrosion pits under different stress conditions tended to be consistent. Finally, the block's maximum pitting factor followed a Gumbel distribution with a scale parameter that changed linearly with the stress level and a location parameter related to the square of the stress level. Geological disasters in large alpine reservoirs primarily take the form of landslide occurrences and are predominantly induced by slope instability. Presently, risk monitoring and assessment strategies tend to prioritize sudden alerts overlooking progressive trajectories from the onset of creeping deformations within the slope to its critical state preceding landslides. Hence, analyzing landslide safety risks over time demonstrates a significant degree of hysteresis, highlighting the necessity for a comprehensive approach to risk assessment that encompasses both gradual and sudden precursors to landslide events. This study analyzes the factors affecting slope stability and establishes a slope evaluation indicator system that includes terrain morphology, meteorological conditions, the ecological environment, soil conditions, human activity, and external manifestation. It proposes a quantitative model for slope landslide risk assessment based on a fuzzy broad learning system, aiming to accurately assess slopes with different risk levels. The overall assessment accuracy rate reaches 92.08%. This multi-dimensional risk assessment model provides long-term monitoring of slope conditions and scientific guidance on landslide risk management and disaster prevention and mitigation on a long time scale for risky slopes in reservoir areas. The effect of tempering temperature on the microstructure and intergranular corrosion property of 2205 duplex stainless steel (DSS2205) was determined using a boiling acid intergranular corrosion test (boiling 65% nitric acid and 50% sulfuric acid–ferric sulfate), an optical microscope, a transmission electron microscope, and a double-loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DL-EPR) test. The results show that the ferrite content of the DSS2205 is about 50% in a specimen close to a solid solution state (1050 °C for 1 h, then water-quenched) when tempered at 675 °C–725 °C for 1 h. As the tempering temperature rises to 750 °C–800 °C for 1 h, the ferrite content drops gradually from 49% to 35%. M23C6, FeCr (σ phase), and Cr2N phases are precipitated when the specimen is tempered at 675°C–800 °C for 1 h. When the tempering temperature rises to 750 °C–800 °C for 1 h, the content and size of σ phase increase significantly. In the boiling acid intergranular corrosion test, when the specimen is tempered at 675 °C–725 °C for 1 h, the corrosion rate is higher than when it is tempered at 750 °C–800 °C for 1 h. In the DL-EPR test, when the specimen is tempered at 675 °C–800 °C for 1 h, the intergranular corrosion sensitivity rises gradually. External polarization is added during the DL-EPR test, and the test principle is different from that of the boiling acid intergranular corrosion test, resulting in a different sensitivity to intergranular corrosion compared to boiling acid intergranular corrosion. Poly-γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) is a natural polymer composed of glutamic acid monomer and it has garnered substantial attention in both the fields of material science and biomedicine. Its remarkable cell compatibility, degradability, and other advantageous characteristics have made it a vital component in the medical field. In this comprehensive review, we delve into the production methods, primary application forms, and medical applications of γ-PGA, drawing from numerous prior studies. Among the four production methods for PGA, microbial fermentation currently stands as the most widely employed. This method has seen various optimization strategies, which we summarize here. From drug delivery systems to tissue engineering and wound healing, γ-PGA's versatility and unique properties have facilitated its successful integration into diverse medical applications, underlining its potential to enhance healthcare outcomes. For NiTi alloys prepared by the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), changes in the building directions will directly change the preferred orientation and thus directly affect the smart properties, such as superelasticity, as well as change the distribution state of defects and impurity elements to affect the phase transformation behaviour, which in turn affects the smart properties at different temperatures. In this study, the relationship between impurity elements, the building directions, and functional properties; the effects of building directions on the crystallographic anisotropy; phase composition; superelastic properties; microhardness; geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) density; and impurity element content of NiTi SMAs fabricated by LPBF were systematically studied. Three building directions measured from the substrate, namely, 0°, 45° and 90°, were selected, and three sets of cylindrical samples were fabricated with the same process parameters. Along the building direction, a strong <100>//vertical direction (VD) texture was formed for all the samples. Because of the difference in transformation temperature, when tested at 15 °C, the sample with the 45° orientation possessed the highest strain recovery of 3.2%. When tested at the austenite phase transformation finish temperature (Af)+10 °C, the 90° sample had the highest strain recovery of 5.83% and a strain recovery rate of 83.3%. The sample with the 90° orientation presented the highest microhardness, which was attributed to its high dislocation density. Meanwhile, different building directions had an effect on the contents of O, C, and N impurity elements, which affected the transformation temperature by changing the Ni/Ti ratio. This study innovatively studied the impurity element content and GND densities of compressive samples with three building directions, providing theoretical guidance for LPBFed NiTi SMA structural parts. Indocyanine green (ICG) is an important kind of near infrared (NIR) photosensitive molecules for PTT/PDT therapy as well as imaging. When exposed to NIR light, ICG can produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can kill cancer cells and pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, the absorbed light can also be converted into heat by ICG molecules to eliminate cancer cells. In addition, it performs exceptionally well in optical imaging-guided tumor therapy and antimicrobial therapy due to its deeper tissue penetration and low photobleaching properties in the near-infrared region compared to other dyes. In order to solve the problems of water and optical stability and multi-function problem of ICG molecules, composite nanomaterials based on ICG have been designed and widely used, especially in the fields of tumors and sterilization. So far, ICG molecules and their composite materials have become one of the most famous infrared sensitive materials. However, there have been no corresponding review articles focused on ICG molecules. In this review, the molecular structure and properties of ICG, composite material design, and near-infrared light- triggered anti-tumor, and antibacterial, and clinical applications are reviewed in detail, which of great significance for related research. Vision plays a crucial role in the ability of compound-eyed insects to perceive the characteristics of their surroundings. Compound-eyed insects (such as the honeybee) can change the optical flow input of the visual system by autonomously controlling their behavior, and this is referred to as visual–motor coordination (VMC). To analyze an insect's VMC mechanism in dynamic scenes, we developed a platform for studying insects that actively shape the optic flow of visual stimuli by adapting their flight behavior. Image-processing technology was applied to detect the posture and direction of insects' movement, and automatic control technology provided dynamic scene stimulation and automatic acquisition of perceptual insect behavior. In addition, a virtual mapping technique was used to reconstruct the visual cues of insects for VMC analysis in a dynamic obstacle scene. A simulation experiment at different target speeds of 1–12 m/s was performed to verify the applicability and accuracy of the platform. Our findings showed that the maximum detection speed was 8 m/s, and triggers were 95% accurate. The outdoor experiments showed that flight speed in the longitudinal axis of honeybees was more stable when facing dynamic barriers than static barriers after analyzing the change in geometric optic flow. Finally, several experiments showed that the platform can automatically and efficiently monitor honeybees' perception behavior, and can be applied to study most insects and their VMC. Irrational phosphorus (P) nutrient management practices often fail to match of P fertilizer type, soil P transformation and crop P demand, lead to increased accumulation of legacy P, reduced PUE, and pollution, affecting crop production. A pot experiment incorporating soil types and P fertilizer types (SSP, simple superphosphate; CMP, calcium magnesium phosphate; DAP, diammonium phosphate; TSP, triple superphosphate; APP, ammonium polyphosphate; CK, no P application) to establish coupling of the soil and P fertilizer types, soil P pool characteristics, crop P uptake. In calcareous soil, the available P concentrations in rhizosphere soil were higher under TSP and DAP, with the increase in NaHCO3-Pi concentration the most. In non-calcareous soil, the NaHCO3-Pi and NaOH-Pi increased the most under SSP, DAP, and TSP at anthesis. Shoot P accumulation at maturity was highest under TSP and APP, TSP and DAP, respectively, in the two soil. TSP and APP significantly increased yield and PUE in the calcareous soil, while TSP and DAP performed better in the non-calcareous soil. NaHCO3-Pi and NaOH-Po are potentially available P sources in calcareous and non-calcareous soil, which remarkably affect shoot P uptake through H2O-P. Comprehensive assessment of the relationship between soil P pool characteristics, yield and PUE, TSP and APP are recommended for application in calcareous soils and TSP and DAP for application in non-calcareous soils in wheat cropping systems. The hydrogen-induced plastic loss behavior of titanium alloys is often reported, but there are relatively few studies on high-strength aluminum alloys. In this article, the hydrogen-induced plastic damage behavior of 7085-T7651 high-strength aluminum alloy was investigated using a tensile specimen with pre-charging hydrogen, and the microstructure was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry. The results showed that 7085-T7651 high-strength aluminum alloy material has certain hydrogen embrittlement sensitivities, and with the increase of hydrogen-charging time, the hydrogen content and sensitivity of the material increases significantly. For the first time, the theoretical analysis and intuitive quantitative characterization of the hydrogen-induced plastic loss behavior mechanism on 7085-T7651 high-strength aluminum alloy is stated as the formation of Mg and H segregation formed at the crystal boundary, which will result in the weakening of the crystal boundary. For NiTi alloys, different additive manufacturing processes may have different compressive recovery capabilities. In particular, there are relatively few studies on the compressive recovery ability of NiTi alloys by the laser-directed energy deposition (LDED) process. In this paper, the compression recovery properties of NiTi alloys with the LDED process were investigated quasi-in-situ by means of transmission electron microscopy, an electron backscatter diffractometer, and focused ion beam–fixed-point sample preparation. The results showed that the material can be completely recovered under 4% deformation and the B19' martensite phase content and dislocation density are basically unchanged. However, the recovery rate was only 90% and the unrecoverable strain was 0.86% at 8% deformation. Meanwhile, the B19' martensite phase content and dislocation density of the material increased. Furthermore, with the increase in deformation, the relative dislocation pinning effect of the Ti2Ni precipitated phase in the alloy was enhanced, which reduced the compressive strain recovery to a certain extent. The Zingiberaceae family is a rich source of diverse bioactive phytochemicals. It comprises about 52 genera and 1300 species of aromatic flowering perennial herbs with characteristic creeping horizontal or tuberous rhizomes. Notable members of this family include ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), Javanese ginger (Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb.), and Thai ginger (Alpinia galanga L.). This review focuses on two main classes of bioactive compounds: the gingerols (and their derivatives) and the curcuminoids. These compounds are known for their antioxidant activity against several maladies. We highlight the centrality of their antioxidant activities with notable biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, antimicrobial, and anticancer effects. High-strength aluminum alloys are exposed to more and more environmentally-induced cracking failure behaviors during service. However, due to the hard to detect nature of hydrogen, and the special working conditions, failure research has obvious hysteresis and complexity, and it is impossible to truly reflect the material failure phenomenon and mechanism. In this paper, 7085 high-strength aluminum alloy is selected as the research material to simulate and reproduce the environmental failure phenomenon of aircraft under extreme working conditions (temperature 70 °C, humidity 85%). The results proved that high-strength aluminum alloy has environmental cracking failure behavior under extreme working conditions. The failure mode that was determined was due to environment-induced hydrogen and hydrogen-induced cracking, which is the result of the combined action of hydrogen and stress. Meanwhile, we demonstrate that high-strength aluminum alloy's environmental failure behavior in an environment of high temperature and high humidity is different from traditional stress corrosion cracking behavior. Pneumatic chipping hammer and ultrasonic impact peening were used to relieve the welding residual stress of 2205 duplex stainless steel by manual argon arc welding, and the influences of these mechanical shock treatment technologies on the residual stress, microstructure, and corro-sion resistance of the welding seam were studied. Results showed that after pneumatic chipping hammer or ultrasonic impact peening, a small amount of plastic deformation occurred in the welded joint of 2205 duplex stainless steel, which led to an increase in the dislocation density in the microstructure. Meanwhile, the stress state of the welded joint changed from the residual tensile stress to the residual compressive stress. The maximum residual compressive stress could reach −579 MPa. The combined action of the two effectively improved the corrosion resistance of the welded joint. Among them, the best overall effect was the ultrasonic impact peening tech-nology. Natural plant resources with herbicidal activity may be substitutes for synthetic chemical pesticides, likewise aromatic plant extracts, especially essential oils. Essential oil from Litsea pungens has been proved to possess a strong antibacterial property. Interestingly, we found the essential oil also showed a strong allelopathic capacity. Therefore, in the present work, the chemical composition of the essential oil from the fruit of L. pungens was analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The weed control abilities of the essential oil were also further evaluated. The results show that the yield of essential oil extracted by steam distillation was 1.4%, and 17 compounds, mainly terpenoids, were identified by GC–MS. In allelopathic tests, the essential oil exhibited a negative effect on seed germination rate and seedling growth of Lolium perenne and Bidenspilosa. Moreover, chlorophyll content, malondialdehyde content, electrolyte leakage, catalase, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase of seedlings treated with essential oil were also negatively affected. This work could provide a better understanding of the rational utilization of L. pungens essential oil for crop cultivation and further development of environment-friendly herbicides. In this paper, an insulating film was successfully prepared by sintering 35 wt % CaO-15 wt % Al2O3-10 wt % B2O3-40 wt % SiO2 glass at 875 °C. After sintering, the main component of the insulating film was glass-ceramics. The main crystal phase was CaAl2Si2O8, and the crystallization activation energy was 189.76 kJ/mol. After preparing the insulating film, its color turned yellow, and the diffusion of Ag was found by XPS and XRD data. When the temperature increased to 875 °C, the color of the insulating film became lighter, and the silver content decreased. The adhesion of the multilayer structure could reach 875 N. The dielectric constant of the insulating film in the multilayer structure was approximately 5, and the dielectric loss was 0.0011. After sintering, the dielectric strength of the insulating film could reach 13.11 kV/mm, which fully meets the requirements of a complex packaging structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The internal friction (IF) behaviors of a series of LaCe-, Zr-, and La-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) were studied by a computer-controlled, conventional inverted torsion pendulum. The results indicate that with an increasing temperature, the IF also increases gradually in the supercooled liquid region, followed by a decrease caused by crystallization. BMGs with a good glass forming ability (GFA) usually possess a high IF peak value for an alloy system with the same constituent elements. Furthermore, the magnitude of the IF value (Qi−1) of the inflection point is an efficient criterion of GFA. The Qi−1 value is a valid criterion under the conditions of identical constituent elements and different element contents. However, Qi−1 and GFA have no relationship among different alloy systems. The contact conductance of single, double, and triple thermal contacts of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) was investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. Our results showed that the effect of the thermal contact number on the contact conductance was not as strong as previously reported. The percentages of contact conductance of double and triple thermal contacts were about 72% and 67%, respectively, compared to that of a single thermal contact. Moreover, we found that the contact conductance of the double and triple thermal contacts was associated with the SWCNT length and the positional relationship of the thermal contacts. Hawk tea ( Litsea coreana Lévl. var. Lanuginosa (Migo) Yen C. Yang & P.H. Huang), a very popular herbal tea material, has attracted more and more attention due to its high antioxidant properties and possible therapeutic effect on type II diabetes mellitus. The raw materials of Hawk tea are usually divided into three kinds: bud tea (BT), primary leaf tea (PLT) and mature leaf tea (MLT). In this study, the DPPH radical scavenging activity and the antimicrobial properties of these three kinds of Hawk tea from different regions were comparatively investigated, and a ultra-high performance liquid chromatographic coupled with a photodiode array detector (UPLC-DAD) method was employed for comparison of the three major flavonoid constituents, including hyperoside, isoquercitrin and astragalin, in different samples of Hawk tea. At the same time, the effect of methanol extract (ME) of PLT on the mouse postprandial blood glucose and the effect of ME and its different fractions (petroleum ether fraction (PE), ethyl acetate fraction (EA), n -butanol fraction ( n -BuOH), and water fraction (WF)) on the activity of α-glucosidase were studied. The results showed that Hawk BT and Hawk PLT possessed the higher radicals scavenging activity than Hawk MLT, while the antibacterial activity against P. vulgaris of PLT and MLT was higher than Hawk BT. The contents of the three major flavonoid constituents in samples of Hawk PLT are higher than Hawk BT and Hawk MLT. The mouse postprandial blood glucose levels of the middle dose (0.5 g/kg) group and the high dose (1 g/kg) group with oral administration of the ME of PLT were significantly lower than the control group. What's more, the inhibitory effect of ME of PLT and its EA and n -BuOH fractions on α-glucosidase was significantly higher than that of acarbose. Rapid ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS) was used to identify the flavonoids in Hawk PLT, and a total of 20 flavonoids were identified or tentatively identified by comparing their retention times and accurate mass measurements with reference compounds or literature data. The bioactive flavonoid composition and DPPH radical scavenging activities present in different Hawk tea raw materials are quite different due to the different ontogenesis of these raw materials.
