The use of cinnamaldehyde and Vitamin C can improve immunity and intestinal health. A two-way factorial design was employed to investigate the main and interactive effects of cinnamaldehyde and vitamin C on the growth, carcass, and intestinal health of broiler chickens. A total of 288 one-day-old female Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly distributed among four treatment groups, consisting of six replicate cages with 12 birds each. Four treatments were basal diet or control (CON), supplemental cinnamaldehyde (CA) 300 g/ton (g/t), vitamin C (VC) 300 g/t, and cinnamaldehyde 300 g/t, and vitamin C 300 g/t (CA + VC), respectively. The results showed that supplemental CA did not affect the growth performance or slaughter performance of broilers at 21 days (d), 42 days (d), and 1–42 days (d); however, it could improve intestinal barrier function at 42 d of age and reduce the mRNA expression of inflammatory factors in the intestine at 21 d and 42 d of age. Supplemental VC showed a trend towards increasing body weight gain (BWG) at 21 d (p = 0.094), increased breast muscle rate (at 21-d 5.33%, p < 0.05 and at 42-d 7.09%, p = 0.097), and decreased the abdominal fat (23.43%, p < 0.05) and drip loss (20.68%, p < 0.05) at 42-d. Moreover, VC improves intestinal morphology and intestinal barrier function and maintains a balanced immune response. The blend of CA and VC significantly upregulated the mRNA expression of myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD-88) in the intestine at 21 d of age, the mRNA expression of catalase (CAT), Occludin, Claudin-1, Mucin-2, nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) in the intestine at 42 d of age (p < 0.01), and downregulated the mRNA expression of interleukin 10 (IL-10), interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in the intestine at 21-d and 42-d of age, and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) mRNA in intestine at 42 d of age (p < 0.01). This study suggested that the combination of CA and VC had the potential to regulate intestinal health and result in better carcass character of broilers.

Object detection and segmentation have made great progress in robotic application missions. However, intelligent agents require fine-grained recognition algorithms rather than object-level and language instructions to enhance the interaction between humans and robots. To improve the robot’s interactivity in the process of the robot response to language instructions, we propose a method for part-level detection and segmentation by exploiting vision language models. In this approach, Swin Transformer is introduced in the image encoder for extracting image features, and FPNs (Feature Pyramid Networks) are modified to better process the features from Swin Transformer. Next, the image decoder is proposed for model aligning between the image features and text embeddings for achieving human–robot interaction via language. Finally, we verify that the text embeddings are impacted by the command of input and that different prompt templates also affect classification. The method proposed in this paper, which is validated on two datasets (PartImagePart and Pascal Part), possesses the ability to understand and execute part-level missions and accurately segments and detects parts compared with existing interactive methods.

As the market share of electric vehicles continues to expand, fire accidents due to impacts from the power battery located at the bottom of the electric vehicles are receiving increasing attention. Lithium-ion batteries, as the mainstream choice of power battery for electric vehicles solving the problem that they are prone to thermal runaway due to damage when impacted, are the key to preventing and controlling fire accidents in electric vehicles. To address the protective problem of the bottom power battery of electric vehicles when it is impacted by road debris, two new types of sandwich structures with an enhanced regular hexagonal structure and semicircular arch structure as the core layer, respectively, are innovatively proposed in this article. They are used to protect the bottom power battery of electric vehicles and are compared with the traditional homogeneous protective structure in terms of protective performance. A local finite element simulation (FEM) of an electric vehicle containing the necessary components was established for simulation. Stress distribution, deformation, and energy absorption data for each component of an electric vehicle assembled with a protective structure when subjected to a bottom impact were obtained safely and cost-effectively. Three evaluation coefficients, namely, the cell shape variable (Bcmax), the protective effect parameter (ƒPE), and the total energy absorption of the structure (Ea), are proposed to compare and analyze the simulation results of different protective structures under equal mass conditions. The maximum values of the battery deformation of arched sandwich construction and reinforced honeycomb sandwich construction were 0.35 mm and 0.40 mm, respectively, which are much smaller than that of the maximum deformation of the battery under the protection of a homogeneous protective structure, which is 0.62 mm. Their protective effect parameters are 43.55 and 35.48, respectively, which proves that the optimization degree of the protective structure of the bottom of the electric vehicle after the application of the new structure is 35% or more. The total energy absorptions of the two structures are 91.77 J and 87.19 J, respectively, accounting for more than 70% of the kinetic energy in the system, which proves that the deformation of the sandwich structure can effectively absorb the kinetic energy of the collision between the road obstacle and the bottom of the car. The final results show that the arched sandwich structure showed the best impact resistance in the simulation, which can be used for the power battery’s protective structure on the electric vehicle’s bottom. This study fills a gap in local finite element modeling in electric vehicle crash simulations and provides ideas for fire prevention designs of electric vehicle structures.

Excavation in foundation pits can result in serious issues for nearby tunnel structures like deformation, differential settlement, and seepage damage, which profoundly impact project timelines and potentially endanger life and property safety. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate these impacts before and after construction and to facilitate timely adjustments of construction measures and reinforcement where possible. In this study, a foundation pit construction project near a rail transit line is employed as a case to comprehensive study the impact of on-site deep foundation pit excavation on adjacent rail transit structures by numerical simulation. A three-dimensional finite-element model of the foundation pit based on site geological characteristics and construction procedures is established to study the excavation and maintenance processes. Through analysis of key parameters including soil deformation, displacement, shear force, and bending moment of the tunnel structures, the designed protective structure is found to have effectively mitigated soil deformation, ensuring the stability of the foundation pit. As excavation progresses, lateral soil deformation and vertical uplift gradually increase but remain within specified control values. During various excavation stages, the maximum displacement of the tunnel structure gradually increases, with the increase rates of maximum settlement being 29.09%, 20.51%, and 6.45%, respectively. This indicates a gradual enhancement of the stability of the tunnel structure. Additionally, excavation of the foundation pit has a significant impact on the bending moment distribution of the tunnel structure but does not affect the axial force and shear force of the tunnel structure. The findings of this study offer crucial scientific insights for evaluating the safety and stability of construction near tunnel structures.

The natural wind velocities in tunnels under different natural conditions are distinct, and the longitudinal ventilation velocity significantly impacts the evacuation environment. This paper examines the evacuation conditions and strategies under varying wind velocities in bifurcated tunnels. Using Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) and Pathfinder software, the fire development and evacuation of three distinct longitudinal positions in a bifurcated tunnel are simulated. The simulation results demonstrate that the evacuation conditions for disparate fire sources at varying wind velocities are markedly disparate. In consideration of the construction cost and the maximization of evacuation capacity, the width of the evacuation doors at the three locations should be set to 2 m, 1.5 m, and 1.5 m, respectively. Furthermore, an analysis of the safety of individual personnel through Fractional Effective Dose (FED) revealed that directing evacuees towards the upstream of the fire after the fire is detected can significantly reduce individual personnel injuries while ensuring the overall success of the evacuation.

In this paper, we collect the basic information data of online rumors and highly topical public opinions. In the research of the propagation model of online public opinion rumors, we use the improved SCIR model to analyze the characteristics of online rumor propagation under the suspicion mechanism at different propagation stages, based on considering the flow of rumor propagation. We analyze the stability of the evolution of rumor propagation by using the time-delay differential equation under the punishment mechanism. In this paper, the evolution of heterogeneous views with different acceptance and exchange thresholds is studied, using the standard Deffuant model and the improved model under the influence of the media, to analyze the evolution process and characteristics of rumor opinions. Based on the above results, it is found that improving the recovery rate is better than reducing the deception rate, and increasing the eviction rate is better than improving the detection rate. When the time lag τ < 110, it indicates that the spread of rumors tends to be asymptotic and stable, and the punishment mechanism can reduce the propagation time and the maximum proportion of deceived people. The proportion of deceived people increases with the decrease in the exchange threshold, and the range of opinion clusters increases with the decline in acceptance.

With the development of the mobile network communication industry, 5G has been widely used in the consumer market, and the application of 5G technology for indoor positioning has emerged. Like most indoor positioning techniques, the propagation of 5G signals in indoor spaces is affected by noise, multipath propagation interference, installation errors, and other factors, leading to errors in 5G indoor positioning. This paper aims to address these issues by first constructing a 5G indoor positioning dataset and analyzing the characteristics of 5G positioning errors. Subsequently, we propose a 5G Positioning Error Correction Neural Network (5G-PECNN) based on neural networks. This network employs a multi-level fusion network structure designed to adapt to the error characteristics of 5G through adaptive gradient descent. Experimental validation demonstrates that the algorithm proposed in this paper achieves superior error correction within the error region, significantly outperforming traditional neural networks.

(1) Background: Inflammatory responses are implicated in embryo implantation, decidualization, pregnancy maintenance and labor. Both embryo implantation and decidualization are essential to successful pregnancy in rodents and primates. S100A6 is involved in inflammation, tumor development, apoptosis and calcium homeostasis. S100A6 is strongly expressed in mouse decidua, but the underlying mechanisms of how S100A6 regulates implantation and decidualization are poorly defined. (2) Methods: Mouse endometrial stromal and epithelial cells are isolated from day 4 pseudopregnant mouse uteri. Both immunofluorescence and Western blotting are used to analyze the expression and localization of proteins. The molecular mechanism is verified in vitro by Western blotting and the quantitative polymerase chain reaction. (3) Results: From days 4 to 8 of pregnancy, S100A6 is specifically expressed in mouse subluminal stromal cells. Blastocyst-derived lactic acid induces AA secretion by activating the luminal epithelial p-cPLA2. The epithelial AA induces stromal S100A6 expression through the COX2/PGI2/PPAR δ pathway. Progesterone regulates S100A6 expression through the progesterone receptor (PR). S100A6/RAGE signaling can regulate decidualization via EGFR/ERK1/2 in vitro. (4) Conclusions: S100A6, as an inflammatory mediator, is important for mouse implantation and decidualization.

Rockbursts are hazardous phenomena of sudden and violent rock failure in deep underground excavations under high geostress conditions, which poses a serious threat to geotechnical engineering. The occurrence of rockbursts is influenced by a combination of factors. Therefore, it is necessary to find an efficient method to assess rockburst grades. In this paper, we propose a novel method that enhances the VIKOR method using a novel combination of weight and generalized weighted Mahalanobis distance. The combination weights of the evaluation indicators were calculated using game theory by combining subjective experience and objective data statistical characteristics. By introducing the generalized weighted Mahalanobis distance, the VIKOR method is improved to address the issues of inconsistent dimensions, different importance, and inconsistent correlation among indicators. The proposed method can deal with the complexity of the impact factors of rockburst evaluation and classify the rockburst intensity level. The results show that the accuracy of the improved VIKOR method with the distance formula is higher than that of the unimproved VIKOR method; the evaluation accuracy of the improved VIKOR method with the generalized weighted Mahalanobis distance is 91.67%, which outperforms the improved VIKOR methods with the Euclidean and Canberra distances. This assessment method can be easily implemented and does not depend on the discussion of the rockburst occurrence mechanism, making it widely applicable for engineering rockburst evaluation.

In this paper, a multi-point geostatistical (MPS) method based on variational function partition simulation is proposed to solve the key problem of MPS 3D modeling using 2D training images. The new method uses the FILTERSIM algorithm framework, and the variational function is used to construct simulation partitions and training image sequences, and only a small number of training images close to the unknown nodes are used in the partition simulation to participate in the MPS simulation. To enhance the reliability, a new covariance filter is also designed to capture the diverse features of the training patterns and allow the filter to downsize the training patterns from any direction; in addition, an information entropy method is used to reconstruct the whole 3D space by selecting the global optimal solution from several locally similar training patterns. The stability and applicability of the new method in complex geological modeling are demonstrated by analyzing the parameter sensitivity and algorithm performance. A geological model of a uranium deposit is simulated to test the pumping of five reserved drill holes, and the results show that the accuracy of the simulation results of the new method is improved by 11.36% compared with the traditional MPS method.

The rapid development of urbanization has led to increasing uncertainties related to urban safety risks, which has brought certain challenges to the sustainable development of cities. The concept of urban resilience has found a new way to improve the ability of a city to absorb and resolve risks. However, the existing literature on the evaluation of urban resilience is mostly developed from a static perspective, lacking a systematic and dynamic understanding of the level of urban resilience. Therefore, this paper takes Hunan Province as the research object, determines the resilience evaluation indicators, collects the data of each indicator by using the observation method and the literature method, then chooses the comprehensive index method and other methods to measure the urban resilience level of Hunan Province in the years of 2010–2021, and observes the dynamic changes in the resilience level. And, we use the GeoDetector model to detect the dominant factors affecting the urban resilience level and the interaction between these factors. The results of this study show that: (1) The level of urban resilience in Hunan Province shows a steady upward trend from 2010 to 2021, but cities with low resilience levels hold a dominant position. Among all subsystems, the level of urban economic resilience is the highest. (2) From 2010 to 2021, the level of urban resilience in Hunan Province indicates a stepwise spatial structure in the spatial pattern, gradually decreasing from east to west. (3) The urban resilience of Hunan Province from 2010 to 2021 has a significant spatial agglomeration effect, mainly manifested as “L-H type” agglomeration and “L-L type” agglomeration. (4) The spatio-temporal differentiation of urban resilience is mainly caused by economic and social factors, while ecological, institutional, and infrastructure factors have a relatively small influence on the level of urban resilience. The interaction of impact factors will have a more significant influence on urban resilience. The research results of this article are of great significance for urban resilience construction in Hunan Province and even the whole country.

The widespread dissemination of rumors (fake information) on online social media has had a detrimental impact on public opinion and the social environment. This necessitates the urgent need for efficient rumor detection methods. In recent years, deep learning techniques, including graph neural networks (GNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs), have been employed to capture the spatiotemporal features of rumors. However, existing research has largely overlooked the limitations of traditional GNNs based on message-passing frameworks when dealing with rumor propagation graphs. In fact, due to the issues of excessive smoothing and gradient vanishing, traditional GNNs struggle to capture the interactive information among high-order neighbors when handling deep graphs, such as those in rumor propagation scenarios. Furthermore, previous methods used for learning the temporal features of rumors, whether based on dynamic graphs or time series, have overlooked the importance of differential temporal information. To address the aforementioned issues, this paper proposes a rumor detection model based on multi-hop graphs and differential time series. Specifically, this model consists of two components: the structural feature extraction module and the temporal feature extraction module. The former utilizes a multi-hop graph and the enhanced message passing framework to learn the high-order structural features of rumor propagation graphs. The latter explicitly models the differential time series to learn the temporal features of rumors. Extensive experiments conducted on multiple real-world datasets demonstrate that our proposed model outperforms the previous state-of-the-art methods.

A rockburst is a geological disaster that occurs in resource development or engineering construction. In order to reduce the harm caused by rockburst, this paper proposes a prediction study of rockburst propensity based on the intuitionistic fuzzy set-multisource combined weights-improved attribute measurement model. From the perspective of rock mechanics, the uniaxial compressive strength σc, tensile stress σt, shear stress σθ, compression/tension ratio σc/σt, shear/compression ratio σθ/σc, and elastic deformation coefficient Wet were selected as the indicators for predicting the propensity of rockburst, and the corresponding attribute classification set was established. Constructing a model framework based on an intuitionistic fuzzy set–improved attribute measurement includes transforming the vagueness of rockburst indicators with an intuitionistic fuzzy set and controlling the uncertainty in the results of the attribute measurements, as well as improving the accuracy of the model using the Euclidean distance method to improve the attribute identification method. To further transform the vagueness of rockburst indicators, the multisource system for combined weights of rockburst propensity indicators was constructed using the minimum entropy combined weighting method, the game theory combined weighting method, and the multiplicative synthetic normalization combined weighting method integrated with intuitionistic fuzzy sets, and the single-valued data of the indicators were changed into intervalized data on the basis of subjective weights based on the analytic hierarchy process and objective weights, further based on the coefficient of variation method. Choosing 30 groups of typical rockburst cases, the indicator weights and propensity prediction results were calculated and analyzed through this paper’s model. Firstly, comparing the prediction results of this paper’s model with the results of the other three single-combination weighting models for attribute measurement, the accuracy of the prediction results of this paper’s model is 86.7%, which is higher than that of the other model results that were the least in addition to the number of uncertain cases, indicating that the uncertainty of attribute measurement has been effectively dealt with; secondly, the rationality of the multiple sources system for combined weights is verified, and the vagueness of the indicators is controlled.

With the development and utilization of resources, mineral-resource cities face the dilemma of resource depletion, the environmental restoration of mines, and industrial transformation. Reusing their mining heritage is a good way for these cities to change their mono-industrial structure and vigorously develop successor industries. Due to the complexity of reusing mining heritage, introducing the “Public–Private-Partnership” (PPP) mode can be a good solution to the problems of the government’s mining heritage reuse, such as large capital investment and a long construction-cycle time. To accurately classify the risk of reuse of mining heritage in the PPP mode, 26 indicators are selected to construct the evaluation index system of mining heritage reuse in the PPP mode based on five aspects: social capital-side, contractor-side, government-side, civilian-side, and the natural environment. The path coefficients of the structural equation model are used to calculate the weights of the indicators. The improved matter–element extension model is constructed to evaluate the reuse of mining heritage in the PPP mode. The Jiaozuo-Centennial Mining Heritage Park project is the object of research for applying the model. The results show that the risk evaluation index system combines the risk factors from the stakeholders’ perspective. The risk-evaluation model of the mining heritage reuse PPP project is constructed based on the combination of the improved matter–element extension model, the calculation of the asymmetric closeness, and the structural equation modeling method, which solves the drawbacks of the traditional model, such as the difficulty of determining the weights of the indicators, the incomplete scope of the material element domains, and the poor calculation of the comprehensive correlation degree. The case analysis shows that the risk level of the Jiaozuo-Centennial Mining Heritage Park project is Level II. This aligns with the actual situation and verifies the feasibility of the risk-evaluation model applied to the actual project. The research in this paper fills the gap in the risk model of mining heritage reuse in the PPP mode, enriches the theoretical system of risk evaluation of mining heritage reuse projects, and provides reference significance for similar mining heritage development projects in the future.

The demand for autonomous exploration and mapping of underground environments has significantly increased in recent years. However, accurately localizing and mapping robots in subterranean settings presents notable challenges. This paper presents a tightly coupled LiDAR-Inertial odometry system that combines the NanoGICP point cloud registration method with IMU pre-integration using incremental smoothing and mapping. Specifically, a point cloud affected by dust particles is first filtered out and separated into ground and non-ground point clouds (for ground vehicles). To maintain accuracy in environments with spatial variations, an adaptive voxel filter is employed, which reduces computation time while preserving accuracy. The estimated motion derived from IMU pre-integration is utilized to correct point cloud distortion and provide an initial estimation for LiDAR odometry. Subsequently, a scan-to-map point cloud registration is executed using NanoGICP to obtain a more refined pose estimation. The resulting LiDAR odometry is then employed to estimate the bias of the IMU. We comprehensively evaluated our system on established subterranean datasets. These datasets were collected by two separate teams using different platforms during the DARPA Subterranean (SubT) Challenge. The experimental results demonstrate that our system achieved performance enhancements as high as 50–60% in terms of root mean square error (RMSE).

Due to the current limitations of three-dimensional (3D) simulation graphics technology, mind wandering commonly occurs in virtual reality tasks, which has impeded it being applied more extensively. The right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (rVLPFC) plays a vital role in executing continuous two-dimensional (2D) mental paradigms, and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) over this cortical region has been shown to successfully modulate sustained 2D attention. Accordingly, we further explored the effects of electrical activation of the rVLPFC on 3D attentional tasks using anodal high-definition (HD)-tDCS. A 3D Go/No-go (GNG) task was developed to compare the after effects of real and sham brain stimulation. Specifically, GNG tasks were periodically interrupted to assess the subjective perception of attentional level, behavioral reactions were tracked and decomposed into an underlying decision cognition process, and electroencephalography data were recorded to calculate event-related potentials (ERPs) in rVLPFC. The p-values statistically indicated that HD-tDCS improved the subjective mentality, led to more cautious decisions, and enhanced neuronal discharging in rVLPFC. Additionally, the neurophysiological P300 ERP component and stimulation being active or sham could effectively predict several objective outcomes. These findings indicate that the comprehensive approach including brain stimulation, 3D mental paradigm, and cross-examined performance could significantly lengthen and robustly compare sustained 3D attention.

A series of novel chiral thiourea fluorescent probes HL1–HL6 were designed and synthesized from (1R,2R)-1,2-diphenylethylenediamine, phenyl isothiocyanate, and different substituted salicylic aldehydes. All of the compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS. They exhibit high selectivity and sensitivity to Zn2+ in the presence of nitrate ions with the detection limit of 2.3 × 10−8 M (HL5). Meanwhile, their zinc (II) complexes (L-ZnNO3) showed continuous response to H2PO4− in acetonitrile solution. The identification processes could further be verified by supramolecular chemistry data analysis, X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis, and theoretical study. The research provides reliable evidence for an explanation of the mechanism of action of thiourea involved in coordination, which is important for the application of thiourea fluorescent probes. In short, the sensors HL1–HL6 based on chiral thiourea Schiff base will be promising detection devices for Zn2+ and H2PO4−.

Pearl powder is a famous traditional Chinese medicine that has a long history in treating palpitations, insomnia, convulsions, epilepsy, ulcers, and skin lightining. Recently, several studies have demonstrated the effects of pearl extracts on protection of ultraviolet A (UVA) induced irritation on human skin fibroblasts and inhibition of melanin genesis on B16F10 mouse melanoma cells. To further explore the effect we focused on the whitening efficacy of pearl hydrolyzed conchiolin protein (HCP) on human melanoma MNT-1 cells under the irritation of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) or endothelin 1 (ET-1) to evaluate the intracellular tyrosinase and melanin contents, as well as the expression levels of tyrosinase (TYR), tyrosinase related protein 1 (TRP-1), and dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) genes and related proteins. We found that HCP could decrease the intracellular melanin content by reducing the activity of intracellular tyrosinase and inhibiting the expression of TYR, TRP-1, DCT genes and proteins. At the same time, the effect of HCP on melanosome transfer effect was also investigated in the co-culture system of immortalized human keratinocyte HaCaT cells with MNT-1. The result indicated that HCP could promote the transfer of melanosomes in MNT-1 melanocytes to HaCaT cells, which might accelerate the skin whitening process by quickly transferring and metabolizing melanosomes during keratinocyte differentiation. Further study is needed to explore the mechanism of melanosome transfer with depigmentation.

A rockburst is a dynamic disaster that may result in considerable damage to mines and pose a threat to personnel safety. Accurately predicting rockburst intensity is critical for ensuring mine safety and reducing economic losses. First, based on the primary parameters that impact rockburst occurrence, the uniaxial compressive strength (σc), shear–compression ratio (σθ/σc), compression–tension ratio (σc/σt), elastic deformation coefficient (Wet), and integrity coefficient of the rock (KV) were selected as the evaluation indicators. Second, an improved game theory weighting method was introduced to address the problem that the combination coefficients calculated using the traditional game theory weighting method may result in negative values. The combination of indicator weights obtained using the analytic hierarchy process, the entropy method, and the coefficient of variation method were also optimized using improved game theory. Third, to address the problem of subjectivity in the traditional unascertained measurement using the confidence identification criterion, the distance discrimination idea of the Minkowski distance was used to optimize the identification criteria of the attributes in an unascertained measurement and was applied to rockburst prediction, and the obtained results were compared with the original confidence identification criterion and the original distance discrimination. The results show that the improved game theory weighting method used in this model makes the weight distribution more reasonable and reliable, which can provide a feasible reference for the weight determination method of rockburst prediction. When the Minkowski distance formula was introduced into the unascertained measurement for distance discrimination, the same rockburst predictions were obtained when the distance parameter (p) was equal to 1, 2, 3, and 4. The improved model was used to predict and analyze 40 groups of rockburst data with an accuracy of 92.5% and could determine the rockburst intensity class intuitively, providing a new way to analyze the rockburst intensity class rationally and quickly.

Imidazole alkaloids, a common class of five-membered aromatic heterocyclic compounds, exist widely in plants, animals and marine organisms. Because of imidazole’s extensive and excellent biological and pharmacological activities, it has always been a topic of major interest for researchers and has been widely used as an active moiety in search of bioactive molecules. To find more efficient antibacterial compounds, a series of novel imidazole-fragment-decorated 2-(pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were designed and synthesized based on our previous works via the active substructure splicing principle, and their bioactivities were systematically evaluated both in vitro and in vivo. The bioassays showed that some of the target compounds displayed excellent in vitro antibacterial activity toward three virulent phytopathogenic bacteria, including Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri (Xac) and Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), affording the lowest EC50 values of 7.40 (7c), 5.44 (9a) and 12.85 (9a) μg/mL, respectively. Meanwhile, compound 7c possessed good in vivo protective and curative activities to manage rice bacterial leaf blight at 200 μg/mL, with control efficacies of 47.34% and 41.18%, respectively. Furthermore, compound 9a showed commendable in vivo protective and curative activities to manage kiwifruit bacterial canker at 200 μg/mL, with control efficacies of 46.05% and 32.89%, respectively, which were much better than those of the commercial bactericide TC (31.58% and 17.11%, respectively). In addition, the antibacterial mechanism suggested that these new types of title compounds could negatively impact the cell membranes of phytopathogenic bacteria cells and cause the leakage of the intracellular component, thereby leading to the killing of bacteria. All these findings confirm that novel 2-(pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles containing an imidazole fragment are promising lead compounds for discovering new bactericidal agents.

Sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrid) is frequently affected by seasonal drought, which causes substantial declines in quality and yield. To understand the drought resistance mechanisms of S. officinarum, the main species of modern sugarcane, at a molecular level, we carried out a comparative analysis of transcriptome and metabolome profiling of the sugarcane variety Badila under drought stress (DS). Compared with control group (CG) plants, plants exposed to DS had 13,744 (6663 up-regulated and 7081 down-regulated) differentially expressed genes (DEGs). GO and KEGG analysis showed that the DEGs were enriched in photosynthesis-related pathways and most DEGs had down-regulated expression. Moreover, the chlorophyll content, photosynthesis (Photo), stomatal conductance (Cond), intercellular carbon dioxide concentration (Ci) and transpiration rate (Trmmol) were sharply decreased under DS. These results indicate that DS has a significant negative influence on photosynthesis in sugarcane. Metabolome analysis identified 166 (37 down-regulated and 129 up-regulated) significantly regulated metabolites (SRMs). Over 50% of SRMs were alkaloids, amino acids and their derivatives, and lipids. The five most significantly enriched KEGG pathways among SRMs were Aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, 2-Oxocarboxylic acid metabolism, Biosynthesis of amino acids, Phenylalanine metabolism, and Arginine and proline metabolism (p < 0.05). Comparing CG with DS for transcriptome and metabolome profiling (T_CG/DS and M_CG/DS, respectively), we found three of the same KEGG-enriched pathways, namely Biosynthesis of amino acids, Phenylalanine metabolism and Arginine and proline metabolism. The potential importance of Phenylalanine metabolism and Arginine and proline metabolism was further analyzed for response to DS in sugarcane. Seven SRMs (five up-regulated and two down-regulated) and 60 DEGs (17 up-regulated and 43 down-regulated) were enriched in Phenylalanine metabolism under DS, of which novel.31261, Sspon.04G0008060-1A, Sspon.04G0008060-2B and Sspon.04G0008060-3C were significantly correlated with 7 SRMs. In Arginine and proline metabolism, eight SRMs (seven up-regulated and one down-regulated) and 63 DEGs (32 up-regulated and 31 down-regulated) were enriched, of which Sspon.01G0026110-1A (OAT) and Sspon.03G0002750-3D (P5CS) were strongly associated with proline (r > 0.99). These findings present the dynamic changes and possible molecular mechanisms of Phenylalanine metabolism as well as Arginine and proline metabolism under DS and provide a foundation for future research and sugarcane improvement.

Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) is a kind of malignant tumor closely related to ulcerative colitis. Xanthone derivatives are one of the most promising therapeutic drugs which have been used in phase I/II clinical trials for cancer therapy. Our previous study indicated that the aerial parts of Gentianella acuta Michx. Hulten (GA) was rich in xanthones and showed a good therapeutic effect on ulcerative colitis in mice, suggesting that GA xanthones might have some therapeutic or ameliorative effects on CRC. However, no relevant study has been reported. This study aims to find the effective substances of GA inhibiting CRC and clarify their mechanism. Solvent extraction, column chromatographic separation, and LC-MS analysis were used to characterize the 70% EtOH extract of GA and track xanthones abundant fraction XF. MTT assay was carried out to clarify the activity of GA fractions; the result showed XF to be the main active fraction. LC-MS analysis was executed to characterize XF, 38 xanthones were identified. Network pharmacology prediction, in vitro activity screening, and molecular docking assay were combined to predict the potential mechanism; the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway was found to be most important. Western blot assay on the main active xanthones 1,3,5-trihydroxyxanthone (16), 1,3,5,8-tetrahydroxyxanthone (17), 1,5,8-trihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone (18), and 1,7-dihydroxy-3,8-dimethoxyxanthone (19) was used to verify the above prediction; these xanthones were found to inhibit the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, and 17 played a significant role among them through Western blot assay using PI3K/AKT/mTOR agonist IGF-1. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that GA xanthones were effective compounds of GA inhibiting CRC by regulating PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway transduction, at least. Importantly, 1,3,5,8-tetrahydroxyxanthone (17), the most abundant active xanthone in GA, might be a candidate drug for CRC.

Considering that the state transfer rules between nodes in existing rumor propagation models are mostly based on a single propagation mechanism, and most of the models have a single way of refuting rumors, in this paper, a new SEIOR rumor propagation model (ignorant (S), hesitators (E), spreaders (I), rumor debunkers (O), immunizers (R)) is proposed by introducing hesitators and rumor debunkers and combining different rumor-refuting ways of rumor debunkers. Firstly, the dynamics process of the propagation model is described by using the mean-field equations. Secondly, the equilibrium point and the basic regeneration number of the model are solved, and the existence and stability of the equilibrium point are discussed. Then, numerical simulations are used to analyze the effects of different factors on rumor propagation patterns. The results show that the rumor-spreading rate α2 has the greatest effect on rumor propagation. With the increase in α2, the degree of influence of the hesitator-converting rate α1 on the scale of rumor propagation first increases and then decreases. Different rumor-refuting ways have different inhibiting effects on the spread of rumors. Finally, based on the results of the theoretical proving and numerical analysis, some targeted measures to control the spread of rumors are proposed.

Virtual reality (VR), a rapidly evolving technology that simulates three-dimensional virtual environments for users, has been proven to activate brain functions. However, the continuous alteration pattern of the functional small-world network in response to comprehensive three-dimensional stimulation rather than realistic two-dimensional media stimuli requires further exploration. Here, we aimed to validate the effect of VR on the pathways and network parameters of a small-world organization and interpret its mechanism of action. Fourteen healthy volunteers were selected to complete missions in an immersive VR game. The changes in the functional network in six different frequency categories were analyzed using graph theory with electroencephalography data measured during the pre-, VR, and post-VR stages. The mutual information matrix revealed that interactions between the frontal and posterior areas and those within the frontal and occipital lobes were strengthened. Subsequently, the betweenness centrality (BC) analysis indicated more robust and extensive pathways among hubs. Furthermore, a specific lateralized channel (O1 or O2) increment in the BC was observed. Moreover, the network parameters improved simultaneously in local segregation, global segregation, and global integration. The overall topological improvements of small-world organizations were in high-frequency bands and exhibited some degree of sustainability.

Objective: To investigate the protective effects of Dendrobium nobile Lindl. alkaloids (DNLA) against chronic alcoholic liver injury. C57BL/6J mice were fed with the Lieber–DeCarli alcohol diet to induce chronic alcoholic liver injury. DNLA (20 mg/kg/day) was gavaged along with the alcohol diet for 28 days. Liver injury was evaluated by serum enzymes. Triglyceride levels, histopathology, and transcriptome changes were examined by RNA-Seq and qPCR. DNLA decreased serum triglyceride levels in mice receiving alcohol. Hepatocyte degeneration and steatosis were ameliorated by DNLA, as evidenced by H&E and Oil-red O staining. DNLA brought the alcohol-induced aberrant gene expression pattern towards normal. Alcohol induced 787 differentially expressed genes (padj < 0.01). DNLA induced 280 differentially expressed genes to a much less extent. Ingenuity pathway analysis showed that DNLA ameliorated alcohol-induced oxidative stress and xenobiotic metabolism disruption. qPCR verified that DNLA alleviated over-activation of Cyp2a4, Cyp2b10, and Abcc4; attenuated oxidative stress (Hmox1, Gstm3, Nupr1), reduced the expression of Nrf2 genes (Nqo1, Gclc, Vldlr); and rescued some metabolic genes (Insig1, Xbp1, Socs3, Slc10a2). In conclusion, DNLA was effective against alcohol-induced fatty liver disease, and the protection may be attributed to alleviated oxidative stress and restored metabolism homeostasis, probably through modulating nuclear receptor CAR-, PXR-, and Nrf2-mediated gene expression pathways.

Myometrium plays critical roles in multiple processes such as embryo spacing through peristalsis during mouse implantation, indicating vital roles of smooth muscle in the successful establishment and quality of implantation. Actin, a key element of cytoskeleton structure, plays an important role in the movement and contraction of smooth muscle cells (SMCs). However, the function of peri-implantation uterine smooth muscle and the regulation mechanism of muscle tension are still unclear. This study focused on the molecular mechanism of actin assembly regulation on implantation in smooth muscle. Phalloidin is a highly selective bicyclic peptide used for staining actin filaments (also known as F-actin). Phalloidin staining showed that F-actin gradually weakened in the CD-1 mouse myometrium from day 1 to day 4 of early pregnancy. More than 3 mice were studied for each group. Jasplakinolide (Jasp) used to inhibit F-actin depolymerization promotes F-actin polymerization in SMCs during implantation window and consequently compromises embryo implantation quality. Transcriptome analysis following Jasp treatment in mouse uterine SMCs reveals significant molecular changes associated with actin assembly. Tagln is involved in the regulation of the cell cytoskeleton and promotes the polymerization of G-actin to F-actin. Our results show that Tagln expression is gradually reduced in mouse uterine myometrium from day 1 to 4 of pregnancy. Furthermore, progesterone inhibits the expression of Tagln through the progesterone receptor. Using siRNA to knock down Tagln in day 3 SMCs, we found that phalloidin staining is decreased, which confirms the critical role of Tagln in F-actin polymerization. In conclusion, our data suggested that decreases in actin assembly in uterine smooth muscle during early pregnancy is critical to optimal embryo implantation. Tagln, a key molecule involved in actin assembly, regulates embryo implantation by controlling F-actin aggregation before implantation, suggesting moderate uterine contractility is conducive to embryo implantation. This study provides new insights into how the mouse uterus increases its flexibility to accommodate implanting embryos in the early stage of pregnancy.

(1) Background: In recent years, electric vehicle fire accidents have occurred frequently. Studying the risk factors leading to electric vehicle fire can take corresponding safety measures to reduce the occurrence of electric vehicle fire accidents. (2) Methods: The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) was constructed to decompose the electric vehicle system, the Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) was constructed to decompose the risk of electric vehicle fire accidents, a WBS-RBS coupling matrix was built to identify the risk factors that lead to electric vehicle fire accidents in the electric vehicle system, and the fuzzy Bayesian network was used to evaluate the risk of electric vehicle fire accidents. (3) Results: In this study, the electric vehicle was divided into four systems, and 15 risk factors leading to electric vehicle fire were found. The first risk factor was external collision ignition, followed by battery failure, artificial modification, battery-pack flooding, and charging equipment failure, and safety measures were proposed; (4) Conclusions: The results show that the WBS-RBS and fuzzy BN coupling research method can identify the risk factors leading to an electric vehicle fire, and the risk factors were ranked, providing a reference for the safety protection of electric vehicles.

Grain contaminated by cadmium (Cd) has become a serious food security problem, and it is necessary to determine and evaluate the toxic effect and defense mechanism of long-term heavy metal pollution in grain. In order to evaluate the effects of long-term heavy metal Cd stress on the stored grain pests, Aleuroglyphus ovatus were fed with an artificial diet supplemented with different concentrations of Cd (0, 5, 10, 20 mg/kg). The development, fecundity and detoxification enzymes of A. ovatus were analyzed and observed. In this study, the immature duration of A. ovatus was significantly prolonged under long-term Cd stress. Moreover, the survival duration of female adults was significantly shortened. The total number of eggs laid and the daily number laid per female adult decreased significantly. There were significant differences in protein content at protonymph and tritonymph stages when the concentration of Cd exceeded 10 mg/kg. The protein content of female adults was higher than that of male adults. The activity of detoxification enzymes showed differences in different conditions, such as development stage, Cd concentration and gender. These findings confirmed that A. ovatus were sensitive to Cd, and their offspring were severely affected under long-term Cd stress. Therefore, A. ovatus is a good model for evaluating the toxicity of long-term heavy metal Cd stress. The study provides the basis and enriches the research content of heavy metal pollution on mites, contributing to the harmonious and healthy development between the environment and human beings.

Blast furnace slag (BFS) and fly ash (FA), as mining-associated solid wastes with good pozzolanic effects, can be combined with superplasticizer to prepare concrete with less cement utilization. Considering the important influence of strength on concrete design, random forest (RF) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) methods were combined to construct a prediction model and carry out hyper-parameter tuning in this study. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to reduce the dimension of input features. The correlation coefficient (R), the explanatory variance score (EVS), the mean absolute error (MAE) and the mean square error (MSE) were used to evaluate the performance of the model. R = 0.954, EVS = 0.901, MAE = 3.746, and MSE = 27.535 of the optimal RF-PSO model on the testing set indicated the high generalization ability. After PCA dimensionality reduction, the R value decreased from 0.954 to 0.88, which was not necessary for the current dataset. Sensitivity analysis showed that cement was the most important feature, followed by water, superplasticizer, fine aggregate, BFS, coarse aggregate and FA, which was beneficial to the design of concrete schemes in practical projects. The method proposed in this study for estimation of the compressive strength of BFS-FA-superplasticizer concrete fills the research gap and has potential engineering application value.

Wasteless mining has become the mainstream mode of China’s mining industry, which is an environmentally friendly and sustainable mining method. To effectively evaluate the construction of a green mine, the wasteless mining evaluation method was proposed, based on the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory and the Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) decision-making method in this study. Firstly, the intuitionistic fuzzy sets for six indicators (such as waste rock utilization, tailing sand utilization and the current mining situation) of the Dongguashan Copper Mine were established, based on the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory and the national standard system. Secondly, referring to the green mine evaluation system, the index weights were calculated with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Finally, the above intuitionistic fuzzy set matrix was ranked by the VIKOR method. The calculation results show that the group utility value of this mine is 0.1943 ∈ (0,0.2), which is at level I; the individual regret value is 0.0916 ∈ (0.075,0.15), which is at level II; the compromise value is 0.2193 ∈ (0.2,0.4), which is at level II. Through comprehensive assessment, the final evaluation of the wasteless mining in the Dongguashan Copper Mine is Grade II. The Dongguashan Copper Mine is one of the first mining enterprises subject to the transformation into wasteless mining in China. The results of the final evaluation are consistent with the current status of wasteless mining in the Dongguashan Copper Mine.

Vibrio alginolyticus is a widely distributed marine bacterium that is a threat to the aquaculture industry as well as human health. Evidence has revealed critical roles for small RNAs (sRNAs) in bacterial physiology and cellular processes by modulating gene expression post-transcriptionally. GcvB is one of the most conserved sRNAs that is regarded as the master regulator of amino acid uptake and metabolism in a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria. However, little information about GcvB-mediated regulation in V. alginolyticus is available. Here we first characterized GcvB in V. alginolyticus ZJ-T and determined its regulon by integrated transcriptome and quantitative proteome analysis. Transcriptome analysis revealed 40 genes differentially expressed (DEGs) between wild-type ZJ-T and gcvB mutant ZJ-T-ΔgcvB, while proteome analysis identified 50 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) between them, but only 4 of them displayed transcriptional differences, indicating that most DEPs are the result of post-transcriptional regulation of gcvB. Among the differently expressed proteins, 21 are supposed to be involved in amino acid biosynthesis and transport, and 11 are associated with type three secretion system (T3SS), suggesting that GcvB may play a role in the virulence besides amino acid metabolism. RNA-EMSA showed that Hfq binds to GcvB, which promotes its stability.

Sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrid) is an important crop for sugar and biofuels, and often suffers from water shortages during growth. Currently, there is limited knowledge concerning the molecular mechanism involved in sugarcane response to drought stress (DS) and whether chitooligosaccharide could alleviate DS. Here, we carried out a combined transcriptome and metabolome of sugarcane in three different treatment groups: control group (CG), DS group, and DS + chitooligosaccharide group (COS). A total of 12,275 (6404 up-regulated and 5871 down-regulated) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified when comparing the CG and DS transcriptomes (T_CG/DS), and 2525 (1261 up-regulated and 1264 down-regulated) DEGs were identified in comparing the DS and COS transcriptomes (T_DS/COS). GO and KEGG analysis showed that DEGs associated with photosynthesis were significantly enriched and had down-regulated expression. For T_DS/COS, photosynthesis DEGs were also significantly enriched but had up-regulated expression. Together, these results indicate that DS of sugarcane has a significantly negative influence on photosynthesis, and that COS can alleviate these negative effects. In metabolome analysis, lipids, others, amino acids and derivatives and alkaloids were the main significantly different metabolites (SDMs) observed in sugarcane response to DS, and COS treatment reduced the content of these metabolites. KEGG analysis of the metabolome showed that 2-oxocarboxylic acid metabolism, ABC transporters, biosynthesis of amino acids, glucosinolate biosynthesis and valine, leucine and isoleucine biosynthesis were the top-5 KEGG enriched pathways when comparing the CG and DS metabolome (M_CG/DS). Comparing DS with COS (M_DS/COS) showed that purine metabolism and phenylalanine metabolism were enriched. Combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis revealed that pyruvate and phenylalanine metabolism were KEGG-enriched pathways for CG/DS and DS/COS, respectively. For pyruvate metabolism, 87 DEGs (47 up-regulated and 40 down-regulated) and five SDMs (1 up-regulated and 4 down-regulated) were enriched. Pyruvate was closely related with 14 DEGs (|r| > 0.99) after Pearson’s correlation analysis, and only 1 DEG (Sspon.02G0043670-1B) was positively correlated. For phenylalanine metabolism, 13 DEGs (7 up-regulated and 6 down-regulated) and 6 SDMs (1 up-regulated and 5 down-regulated) were identified. Five PAL genes were closely related with 6 SDMs through Pearson’s correlation analysis, and the novel.31257 gene had significantly up-regulated expression. Collectively, our results showed that DS has significant adverse effects on the physiology, transcriptome, and metabolome of sugarcane, particularly genes involved in photosynthesis. We further show that COS treatment can alleviate these negative effects.

Mine extraction planning has a far-reaching impact on the production management and overall economic efficiency of the mining enterprise. The traditional method of preparing underground mine production planning is complicated and tedious, and reaching the optimum calculation results is difficult. Firstly, the theory and method of multi-objective optimization are used to establish a multi-objective planning model with the objective of the best economic efficiency, grade, and ore quantity, taking into account the constraints of ore grade fluctuation, ore output from the mine, production capacity of mining enterprises, and mineral resources utilization. Second, an improved particle swarm algorithm is applied to solve the model, a nonlinear dynamic decreasing weight strategy is proposed for the inertia weights, the variation probability of each generation of particles is dynamically adjusted by the aggregation degree, and this variation probability is used to perform a mixed Gaussian and Cauchy mutation for the global optimal position and an adaptive wavelet variation for the worst individual optimal position. This improved strategy can greatly increase the diversity of the population, improve the global convergence speed of the algorithm, and avoid the premature convergence of the solution. Finally, taking a large polymetallic underground mine in China as a case, the example calculation proves that the algorithm solution result is 10.98% higher than the mine plan index in terms of ore volume and 41.88% higher in terms of economic efficiency, the algorithm solution speed is 29.25% higher, and the model and optimization algorithm meet the requirements of a mining industry extraction production plan, which can effectively optimize the mine’s extraction plan and provide a basis for mine operation decisions.

Punica granatum L. (Punicaceae) is a popular fruit all over the world. Owning to its enriched polyphenols, P. granatum has been widely used in treating inflammation-related diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Twenty polyphenols, containing nine unreported ones, named punicagranins A–I (1–9), along with eleven known isolates (10–20), were obtained from the peels. Their detailed structures were elucidated based on UV, IR, NMR, MS, optical rotation, ECD analyses and chemical evidence. The potential anti-inflammatory activities of all polyphenols were examined on a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory macrophages model, which indicated that enhancing nitric oxide (NO) production in response to inflammation stimulated in RAW 264.7 cells was controlled by compounds 1, 3, 5–8, 10, 11, 14 and 16–20 in a concentration-dependent manner. The investigation of structure–activity relationships for tannins 6–8 and 12–20 suggested that HHDP, flavogallonyl and/or gallagyl were key groups for NO production inhibitory activity. Western blotting indicated that compounds 6–8 could down-regulate the phosphorylation levels of proteins p38 MAPK, IKKα/β, IκBα and NF-κB p65 as well as inhibit the levels of inflammation-related cytokines and mediators, such as IL-6, TNF-α, iNOS and COX-2, at the concentration of 30 μM. In conclusion, polyphenols are proposed to be the potential anti-inflammatory active ingredients in P. granatum peels, and their molecular mechanism is likely related to the regulation of the p38 MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways.

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP) is a rare inflammatory disease often associated with high morbidity and mortality. Whether the midline transperitoneal or the flank retroperitoneal approach is superior remains unknown. We searched through pathology databases and reviewed 86 patients with an XGP diagnosis from 2000 to 2021 at our institution. After the patients who did not meet the inclusion criteria were excluded, 35 patients who had undergone nephrectomy through the midline transperitoneal or the flank retroperitoneal laparotomy approach were recruited. Nine (25.71%) of the thirty-five patients underwent nephrectomy through a midline approach, whereas twenty-six (74.29%) received a flank approach. Patients in the midline approach group had a longer surgical time (p = 0.03) than those in the flank approach group. In addition, patients in the flank approach group took less time after surgery to resume oral intake than those in the midline approach group (p = 0.01). No significant differences in the rates of intraoperative and postoperative complications such as peritonitis or intraabdominal infection were observed between the groups. For the patients with XGP who are good candidates for surgery, nephrectomy is a relatively safe surgical treatment method. Both surgical methods produced favorable surgical outcomes, and the patients who received these methods had similar complication rates.

To improve the accuracy of predicting rockburst intensity, game theory and an improved maximum entropy-attribute measure interval model were established. First, by studying the mechanism of rockburst and typical cases, rock uniaxial compressive strength σc, rock compression-tension ratio σc/σt, rock shear compression ratio σθ/σc, rock elastic deformation coefficient Wet, and rock integrity coefficient Kv were selected as indexes for predicting rockburst intensity. Second, by combining the maximum entropy principle with the attribute measure interval and using the minimum distance Di−k between sample and class as the guide, the entropy solution of the attribute measure was obtained, which eliminates the greyness and ambiguity of the rockburst indexes to the maximum extent. Third, using the compromise coefficient to integrate the comprehensive attribute measure, which avoids the ambiguity about the number of attribute measure intervals. Fourth, from the essence of measurement theory, the Euclidean distance formula was used to improve the attribute identification mode, which overcomes the effect of the confidence coefficient taking on the results. Moreover, in order to balance the shortcomings of the subjective weights of the Analytic Hierarchy Process and the objective weights of the CRITIC method, game theory was used for the combined weights, which balances experts’ experience and the amount of data information. Finally, 20 sets of typical cases for rockburst in the world were selected as samples. On the one hand, the reasonableness of the combined weights of indexes was analyzed; on the other hand, the results of this paper’s model were compared with the three analytical models for predicting rockburst, and this paper’s model had the lowest number of misjudged samples and an accuracy rate of 80%, which was better than other models, verifying the accuracy and applicability.

(1) Background: Hot social events contain a large amount of public opinion information, and a more detailed analysis of this information will help the relevant parts to formulate more targeted supervision strategies at different stages and for the public opinion publishers involved in the event discussions, so as to achieve efficient management of public opinion; (2) Methods:Based on stakeholder theory and life cycle theory, this study constructs stakeholder classification system by using keyword identification method; adopts LDA model to complete topic clustering; analyzes and summarizes topic evolution pattern by calculating topic similarity; (3) Results: The study divided the stakeholders involved in the Jiang Ge case into 10 categories, and the results of topic clustering were divided into two categories according to the content of the topics, which were based on the case itself and on the parties involved in the case; it was found that each stakeholder focused on a different topic with different emphasis, no matter the topic of public opinion or the different life cycle stages of public opinion. Based on the differences in topic similarity between adjacent stages, the topic evolution patterns of different stakeholders were categorized into three types; (4) Conclusions: Example verification shows that the method presented in this paper can dig out the topic focus and evolution path of stakeholders in the field of public opinion, and provide a horizontal and vertical comparative analysis between stakeholders and different life cycle stages.

Multiple compression tests on rock-like samples of pre-existing cracks with different geometries were conducted to investigate the strength properties and crack propagation behavior considering multi-crack interactions. The progressive failure process of the specimens was segmented into four categories and seven coalescence modes were identified due to different crack propagation mechanisms. Ultimately, a mechanical model of the multi-crack rock mass was proposed to investigate the gradual fracture and damage evolution traits of the multi-crack rock on the basis of exploring the law of the compression-shear wing crack initiation and propagation. A comparison between theory and experimental results indicated that the peak strength of the specimens with multiple fractures decreased initially and subsequently increased with the increase in the fissure inclination angles; the peak strength of specimens decreased with the increase in the density of fissure distribution.

Consensus guidelines for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer include management recommendations for pathogenic/likely pathogenic (P/LP) variants in ATM, CHEK2, PALB2, and other DNA damage repair (DDR) genes beyond BRCA1 or BRCA2. We report on clinical management decisions across three academic medical centers resulting from P/LP findings in DDR genes in breast/ovarian cancer patients. Among 2184 patients, 156 (7.1%) carried a P/LP variant in a DDR gene. Clinical follow-up information was available for 101/156 (64.7%) patients. Genetic test result-based management recommendations were made for 57.8% (n = 59) of patients and for 64.7% (n = 66) of patients’ family members. Most recommendations were made for moderate-to-high risk genes and were consistent with guidelines. Sixty-six percent of patients (n = 39/59) implemented recommendations. This study suggests that P/LP variants in DDR genes beyond BRCA1 and BRCA2 can change clinical management recommendations for patients and their family members, facilitate identification of new at-risk carriers, and impact treatment decisions. Additional efforts are needed to improve the implementation rates of genetic-testing-based management recommendations for patients and their family members.

To effectively protect citizens’ property from the infringement of fund-raising fraud, it is necessary to investigate the dissemination, identification, and causation of fund-raising fraud. In this study, the Susceptible Infected Recovered (SIR) model, Back-Propagation (BP) neural network, Fault tree, and Bayesian network were used to analyze the dissemination, identification, and causation of fund-raising fraud. Firstly, relevant data about fund-raising fraud were collected from residents in the same area via a questionnaire survey. Secondly, the SIR model was used to simulate the dissemination of victims, susceptibles, alerts, and fraud amount; the BP neural network was used to identify the data of financial fraud and change the accuracy of the number analysis of neurons and hidden layers; the fault-tree model and the Bayesian network model were employed to analyze the causation and importance of basic events. Finally, the security measures of fund-raising fraud were simulated by changing the dissemination parameters. The results show that (1) for the spread of the scam, the scale of the victims expands sharply with the increase of the fraud cycle, and the victims of the final fraud cycle account for 12.5% of people in the region; (2) for the source of infection of the scam, the initial recognition rate of fraud by the BP neural network varies from 90.9% to 93.9%; (3) for the victims of the scam, reducing fraud publicity, improving risk awareness, and strengthening fraud supervision can effectively reduce the probability of fraud; and (4) reducing the fraud rate can reduce the number of victims and delay the outbreak time. Improving the alert rate can reduce victims on a large scale. Strengthening supervision can restrict the scale of victims and prolong the duration of fraud.

Rosa roxburghii Tratt. fruit juice (Cili) is used as a medicinal and edible resource in China due to its antioxidant and hypolipidemic potentials. The efficacy of Cili in protecting alcohol-induced liver injury and its underlying mechanism was investigated. C57BL/6J mice received a Lieber-DeCarli liquid diet containing alcohol to produce liver injury. After the mice were adapted gradually to 5% alcohol, Cili (4 mL and 8 mL/kg/day for 4 weeks) were gavaged for treatment. The serum enzyme activities, triglyceride levels, histopathology and Oil-red O staining were examined. The RNA-Seq and qPCR analyses were performed to determine the protection mechanisms. Cili decreased serum and liver triglyceride levels in mice receiving alcohol. Hepatocyte degeneration and steatosis were improved by Cili. The RNA-Seq analyses showed Cili brought the alcohol-induced aberrant gene pattern towards normal. The qPCR analysis verified that over-activation of CAR and PXR (Cyp2a4, Cyp2b10 and Abcc4) was attenuated by Cili. Cili alleviated overexpression of oxidative stress responsive genes (Hmox1, Gsta1, Gstm3, Nqo1, Gclc, Vldlr, and Cdkn1a), and rescued alcohol-downregulated metabolism genes (Angptl8, Slc10a2, Ces3b, Serpina12, C6, and Selenbp2). Overall, Cili was effective against chronic alcohol liver injury, and the mechanisms were associated with decreased oxidative stress, improved lipid metabolism through modulating nuclear receptor CAR-, PXR-and Nrf2-mediated pathways.

An important problem currently faced by karst rocky desertification management is the degradation of vegetation fruits, which encourages the search for a solution for the sustainable growth of vegetation. Water and fertilizer are key factors affecting crop quality (the formation of soluble solids, protein, amino acids, soluble sugar content, etc.). A comprehensive review of research related to water–fertilizer coupling and crop quality improvement may be beneficial for rocky desertification control. This study analyzed 427 related papers, and the results showed that: (1) the number of published papers showed an “S” curve growth trend over time, indicating that research in the field of water–fertilizer coupling has entered a mature stage after rapid growth, yet it is still in the initial stage in karst areas; (2) the research was mainly theoretical, but also included technology research and development, model construction, demonstration and extension, and monitoring and evaluation; (3) except for research related to greenhouse facilities, the research areas are mainly located in arid and semi-arid regions. The study further revealed (4) the frontier theory of water–fertilizer coupling and crop quality research. Finally, it was found that the theoretical and technical studies related to water–fertilizer coupling and crop quality improvement in karst areas are insufficient. Whether the existing theories and techniques are applicable to karst areas needs further verification. In addition to the areas of selecting germplasm with high water/fertilizer utilization efficiency and tolerance to rocky desertification, further improvement in the dynamic model of water–fertilizer coupling and the construction of a more applicable water–fertilizer coupling model could also be future research hotspots.

Pericardial effusions (PEFs) are often missed on Computed Tomography (CT), which particularly affects the outcome of patients presenting with hemodynamic compromise. An automatic PEF detection, segmentation, and classification tool would expedite and improve CT based PEF diagnosis; 258 CTs with (206 with simple PEF, 52 with hemopericardium) and without PEF (each 134 with contrast, 124 non-enhanced) were identified using the radiology report (01/2016–01/2021). PEF were manually 3D-segmented. A deep convolutional neural network (nnU-Net) was trained on 316 cases and separately tested on the remaining 200 and 22 external post-mortem CTs. Inter-reader variability was tested on 40 CTs. PEF classification utilized the median Hounsfield unit from each prediction. The sensitivity and specificity for PEF detection was 97% (95% CI 91.48–99.38%) and 100.00% (95% CI 96.38–100.00%) and 89.74% and 83.61% for diagnosing hemopericardium (AUC 0.944, 95% CI 0.904–0.984). Model performance (Dice coefficient: 0.75 ± 0.01) was non-inferior to inter-reader (0.69 ± 0.02) and was unaffected by contrast administration nor alternative chest pathology (p > 0.05). External dataset testing yielded similar results. Our model reliably detects, segments, and classifies PEF on CT in a complex dataset, potentially serving as an alert tool whilst enhancing report quality. The model and corresponding datasets are publicly available.

This work presents a palladium-catalyzed oxime ether-directed ortho-selective benzoylation using benzoylformic acid as the acyl source with a palladium catalyst and 4CzIPN as the co-catalyst under light. Various non-symmetric benzophenone derivatives were obtained in moderate to good yields. A preliminary mechanism study revealed that the reaction proceeds through a free radical pathway.

Decidualization is essential to rodent and primate pregnancy. Senescence is increased during decidualization. Failure of senescence clearance during decidualization will cause pregnancy abnormality. Caveolin-1 is located in plasmalemmal caveolae and involved in senescence. However, whether caveolin-1 is involved in decidualization remains undefined. In this study, we examined the expression, regulation and function of Caveolin-1 during mouse early pregnancy and under mouse and human in vitro decidualization. From days 1 to 8 of pregnancy, Caveolin-1 signals are mainly located in endothelium and myometrium. Estrogen stimulates Caveolin-1 expression in endothelium. Deficiency of estrogen receptor α significantly promotes Caveolin-1 level in uterine stromal cells. Progesterone upregulates Caveolin-1 expression in luminal epithelium. During mouse in vitro decidualization, Caveolin-1 is significantly increased. However, Caveolin-1 is obviously decreased during human in vitro decidualization. Caveolin-1 overexpression and siRNA suppress and upregulate IGFBP1 expression under in vitro decidualization, respectively. Blastocysts-derived tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) regulate Caveolin-1 in mouse and human decidual cells, respectively. Caveolin-1 levels are also regulated by high glucose and insulin. In conclusion, a low level of Caveolin-1 should be beneficial for human decidualization.

Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), a honeybee propolis-derived bioactive ingredient, has not been extensively elucidated regarding its effect on prostate cancer and associated mechanisms. The mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue 1 gene (MALT1) modulates NF-κB signal transduction in lymphoma and non-lymphoma cells. We investigated the functions and regulatory mechanisms of CAPE in relation to MALT1 in prostate carcinoma cells. In p53- and androgen receptor (AR)-positive prostate carcinoma cells, CAPE downregulated AR and MALT1 expression but enhanced that of p53, thus decreasing androgen-induced activation of MALT1 and prostate-specific antigen expressions. p53 downregulated the expression of MALT in prostate carcinoma cells through the putative consensus and nonconsensus p53 response elements. CAPE downregulated MALT1 expression and thus inhibited NF-κB activity in p53- and AR-negative prostate carcinoma PC-3 cells, eventually reducing cell proliferation, invasion, and tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. CAPE induced the ERK/JNK/p38/AMPKα1/2 signaling pathways; however, pretreatment with the corresponding inhibitors of MAPK or AMPK1/2 did not inhibit the CAPE effect on MALT1 blocking in PC-3 cells. Our findings verify that CAPE is an effective antitumor agent for human androgen-dependent and -independent prostate carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo through the inhibition of MALT1 expression via the AR/p53/NF-κB signaling pathways.

In this study, we propose a miniaturized bandpass filter (BPF) developed by combining an approximate circular (36-gon) winding inductor, a circinate capacitor, and five air-bridge structures fabricated on a gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrate using an integrated passive device (IPD) technology. We introduced air-bridge structures into the outer metal wire to improve the capacitance per unit volume while utilizing a miniaturized chip with dimensions 1538 μm × 800 μm (0.029 λ0 × 0.015 λ0) for the BPF. The pattern was designed and optimized by simulating different dimensional parameters, and the group delay and current density are presented. The equivalent circuit was modeled to analysis various parasitic effect. Additionally, we described the GaAs-based micro-nano scale fabrication process to elucidate the proposed IPD technology and the physical structure of the BPF. Measurements were conducted with a center frequency of 1.53 GHz (insertion loss of 0.53 dB) and a 3-dB fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 70.59%. The transmission zero was located at 4.16 GHz with restraint of 35.86 dB. Owing to the benefits from its miniaturized chip size and high performance, the proposed GaAs-based IPD BPF was verified as an excellent device for various S-band applications, such as satellite communication, keyless vehicle locks, wireless headphones, and radar.

Decidualization is essential to the establishment of pregnancy in rodents and primates. Laminin A5 (encoding by Laminin α5) is a member of the laminin family, which is mainly expressed in the basement membranes. Although laminins regulate cellular phenotype maintenance, adhesion, migration, growth, and differentiation, the expression, function, and regulation of laminin A5 during early pregnancy are still unknown. Therefore, we investigated the expression and role of laminin A5 during mouse and human decidualization. Laminin A5 is highly expressed in mouse decidua and artificially induced deciduoma. Laminin A5 is significantly increased under in vitro decidualization. Laminin A5 knockdown significantly inhibits the expression of Prl8a2, a marker for mouse decidualization. Progesterone stimulates the expression of laminin A5 in ovariectomized mouse uterus and cultured mouse stromal cells. We also show that progesterone regulates laminin A5 through the PKA-CREB-C/EBPβ pathway. Laminin A5 is also highly expressed in human pregnant decidua and cultured human endometrial stromal cells during in vitro decidualization. Laminin A5 knockdown by siRNA inhibits human in vitro decidualization. Collectively, our study reveals that laminin A5 may play a pivotal role during mouse and human decidualization via the PKA-CREB-C/EBPβ pathway.
