Spermatozoa cryopreservation protocols have been established for yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco), but cryopreservation can still cause cellular damage and affect spermatozoa viability and fertility. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to evaluate the effects of adding or not adding cryoprotectants during low-temperature storage on the ultrastructural damage, oxidative damage, and DNA damage of thawed yellow catfish spermatozoa. The mixed semen of three male yellow catfish was divided into a fresh spermatozoa group, a frozen spermatozoa group (DMSO+) with a cryoprotectant (10% DMSO), and a frozen spermatozoa group without a cryoprotectant (DMSO−). Ultrastructural of the spermatozoa after thawing were observed under an electron microscope and the spermatozoa were assayed for SOD, MDA, and T-AOC enzyme activities, as well as for DNA integrity. In terms of movement parameters, compared with DMSO−, the addition of DMSO has significantly improved sperm motility, curve line velocity (VCL), and straight line velocity (VSL). The ultrastructural results showed that although thawed spermatozoa exhibited increased damage than fresh spermatozoa, 10% DMSO effectively reduced the damage to the plasma membrane, mitochondria, and flagellum of spermatozoa by cryopreservation, and most of the spermatozoa were preserved with intact structure. The results of oxidative damage showed that compared with frozen spermatozoa, 10% DMSO significantly increased the activities of SOD and T-AOC enzymes and clearly reduced the activity of the MDA enzyme. The antioxidant capacity of spermatozoa was improved, lipid peroxidation was reduced, and the oxidative damage caused by cryopreservation was mitigated. The DNA integrity of spermatozoa showed that 10% DMSO clearly reduced the DNA fragmentation rate. In conclusion, 10% DMSO can effectively reduce the ultrastructural damage, oxidative damage, and DNA damage of yellow catfish spermatozoa during cryopreservation; it can also further optimize the cryopreservation protocol for yellow catfish spermatozoa. Meanwhile, it also provides a theoretical basis for the future optimization of the cryopreservation protocols.

This paper presents a systematic literature review of the impact of emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and gamification on student engagement, learning outcomes, and employability in Built Environment (BE) education. This review covers studies conducted between 2013 and 2023, utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) framework. From an initial pool of 626 studies, 61 were identified and rigorously analyzed. The findings reveal that these technologies significantly enhance student engagement by providing immersive and interactive learning experiences that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Furthermore, their use is shown to improve learning outcomes by facilitating a deeper understanding of complex concepts and increasing student motivation. In terms of employability, the integration of digital tools into BE education equips students with the requisite skills that are increasingly demanded in the modern workplace. However, the study also identifies several challenges, including high costs, limited resources, and the need for extensive faculty training, which act as barriers to the effective implementation of these technologies. Despite these challenges, this review underscores the transformative potential of digital technologies in BE education. This study is significant as it synthesizes recent evidence to highlight the critical role of digital technologies in reshaping BE education. It offers practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to enhance teaching and learning practices. Providing pathways for integrating these technologies into BE curricula, this study aims to inform future research and pedagogical strategies, ultimately contributing to the development of a highly skilled and adaptable workforce.

Auxin is a key hormone that regulates plant growth and development, including plant shape and sensitivity to environmental changes. Auxin is biosynthesized and metabolized via many parallel pathways, and it is sensed and transduced by both normal and atypical pathways. The production, catabolism, and signal transduction pathways of auxin primarily govern its role in plant growth and development, and in the response to stress. Recent research has discovered that auxin not only responds to intrinsic developmental signals, but also mediates various environmental signals (e.g., drought, heavy metals, and temperature stresses) and interacts with hormones such as cytokinin, abscisic acid, gibberellin, and ethylene, all of which are involved in the regulation of plant growth and development, as well as the maintenance of homeostatic equilibrium in plant cells. In this review, we discuss the latest research on auxin types, biosynthesis and metabolism, polar transport, signaling pathways, and interactions with other hormones. We also summarize the important role of auxin in plants under abiotic stresses. These discussions provide new perspectives to understand the molecular mechanisms of auxin’s functions in plant development.

Wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite has demonstrated great potential in perovskite-based tandem solar cells. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of such devices has surpassed 34%, signifying a new era for renewable energy development. However, the ion migration reduces the stability and hinders the commercialization, which is yet to be resolved despite many attempts. A big step forward has now been achieved by the simulation method. The detailed thermodynamics and kinetics of the migration process have been revealed for the first time. The stability has been enhanced by more than 100% via the heterojunction layer on top of the WBG perovskite film, which provided extra bonding for kinetic protection. Hopefully, these discoveries will open a new gate for WBG perovskite research and accelerate the application of perovskite-based tandem solar cells.

In intelligent traffic monitoring systems, the significant distance between cameras and their non-overlapping fields of view leads to several issues. These include incomplete tracking results from individual cameras, difficulty in matching targets across multiple cameras, and the complexity of inferring the global trajectory of a target. In response to the challenges above, a deep learning-based vehicle tracking algorithm called FairMOT-MCVT is proposed. This algorithm con-siders the vehicles’ characteristics as rigid targets from a roadside perspective. Firstly, a Block-Efficient module is designed to enhance the network’s ability to capture and characterize image features across different layers by integrating a multi-branch structure and depth-separable convolutions. Secondly, the Multi-scale Dilated Attention (MSDA) module is introduced to improve the feature extraction capability and computational efficiency by combining multi-scale feature fusion and attention mechanisms. Finally, a joint loss function is crafted to better distinguish between vehicles with similar appearances by combining the trajectory smoothing loss and velocity consistency loss, thereby considering both position and velocity continuity during the optimization process. The proposed method was evaluated on the public UA-DETRAC dataset, which comprises 1210 video sequences and over 140,000 frames captured under various weather and lighting conditions. The experimental results demonstrate that the FairMOT-MCVT algorithm significantly enhances multi-target tracking accuracy (MOTA) to 79.0, IDF1 to 84.5, and FPS to 29.03, surpassing the performance of previous algorithms. Additionally, this algorithm expands the detection range and reduces the deployment cost of roadside equipment, effectively meeting the practical application requirements.

In high-speed and heavy-load conditions, ordinary rigid tilting pad journal bearings experience significant contact stress at the pad pivot points, leading to severe pad deformation and increased wear. A flexible structure tilting pad bearing (FSTPB) is presented in this paper, using spring supports to replace the traditional pivot supports and flexible hinge supports. A theoretical calculation model for tilting pad radial journal bearings considering flexible structure deformation is established, and the impact of elastic deformation on the performance of the flexible structure tilting pad bearings is discussed. Based on theoretical research, vibration experiments on flexible tilting pad bearings under different loading conditions were conducted. The influence of various structural parameters on the vibration characteristics of the flexible tilting pad radial bearings was studied. The results indicate that, compared to ordinary tilting pad bearings, flexible structure tilting pad bearings exhibit excellent vibration reduction characteristics at high speeds. Reducing the bearing clearance, lowering the stiffness of the flexible structure, and increasing the offset angle of the flexible structure contribute to enhancing the operational stability of the bearing–rotor system.

In this study, Poly(vinyl alcohol)/cellulose nanofiber (PVA/CNF) hydrogels have been successfully prepared using γ-ray irradiation, annealing, and rehydration processes. In addition, the effects of CNF content and annealing methods on the hydrogel properties, including gel fraction, micromorphology, crystallinity, swelling behavior, and tensile and friction properties, are investigated. Consequently, the results show that at an absorbed dose of 30 kGy, the increase in CNF content increases the gel fraction, tensile strength, and elongation at break of irradiated PVA/CNF hydrogels, but decreases the water absorption. In addition, the cross-linking density of the PVA/CNF hydrogels is significantly increased at an annealing temperature of 80 °C, which leads to the transition of the cross-sectional micromorphology from porous networks to smooth planes. For the PVA/CNF hydrogel with a CNF content of 0.6%, the crystallinity increases from 19.9% to 25.8% after tensile annealing of 30% compared to the original composite hydrogel. The tensile strength is substantially increased from 65.5 kPa to 21.2 MPa, and the modulus of elasticity reaches 4.2 MPa. Furthermore, it shows an extremely low coefficient of friction (0.075), which suggests that it has the potential to be applied as a material for artificial joint cartilage.

(1) Background: Plant diversity has long been assumed to predict soil microbial diversity. The mutualistic symbiosis between forest trees and ectomycorrhizal (EM) fungi favors strong correlations of EM fungal diversity with host density in terrestrial ecosystems. Nevertheless, in contrast with host tree effects, neighboring plant effects are less well studied. (2) Methods: In the study presented herein, we examined the α-diversity, community composition, and co-occurrence patterns of EM fungi in Quercus acutissima across different forest types (pure forests, mixed forests with Pinus tabuliformis, and mixed forests with other broadleaved species) to ascertain how the EM fungi of focal trees are related to their neighboring plants and to identify the underlying mechanisms that contribute to this relationship. (3) Results: The EM fungal community exhibited an overall modest but positive correlation with neighboring plant richness, with the associations being more pronounced in mixed forests. This neighboring effect was mediated by altered abiotic (i.e., SOC, TN, LC, and LP) and biotic (i.e., bacterial community) factors in rhizosphere soil. Further analysis revealed that Tomentella_badia, Tomentella_galzinii, and Sebacina_incrustans exhibited the most significant correlations with plant and EM fungal diversity. These keystone taxa featured low relative abundance and clear habitat preferences and shared similar physiological traits that promote nutrient uptake through contact, short-distance and medium-distance smooth contact-based exploration types, thereby enhancing the potential correlations between EM fungi and the neighboring plant community. (4) Conclusions: Our findings contribute to the comprehension of the effect of neighboring plants on the EM fungal community of focal trees of different forest communities and the biodiversity sensitivity to environmental change.

GaN HEMT devices are sensitive to the single event effect (SEE) caused by heavy ions, and their reliability affects the safe use of space equipment. In this work, a Ge ion (LET = 37 MeV·cm2/mg) and Bi ion (LET = 98 MeV·cm2/mg) were used to irradiate Cascode GaN power devices by heavy ion accelerator experimental device. The differences of SEE under three conditions: pre-applied electrical stress, different LET values, and gate voltages are studied, and the related damage mechanism is discussed. The experimental results show that the pre-application of electrical stress before radiation leads to an electron de-trapping effect, generating defects within the GaN device. These defects will assist in charge collection so that the drain leakage current of the device will be enhanced. The higher the LET value, the more electron–hole pairs are ionized. Therefore, the charge collected by the drain increases, and the burn-out voltage advances. In the off state, the more negative the gate voltage, the higher the drain voltage of the GaN HEMT device, and the more serious the back-channel effect. This study provides an important theoretical basis for the reliability of GaN power devices in radiation environments.

A 55-year-old woman had remarkably generalized telangiectasia. Large atypical lymphoid cells were found within the lumen of small vessels, and CD20 was positive in her third skin biopsy. She was diagnosed with intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) and went into remission of the skin manifestations after seven courses of R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone) and four courses of intravenous high-dose methotrexate (HD MTX). To our knowledge, this is the first case report of IVLBCL with generalized telangiectasia in China. From a review of the literature, we found that generalized telangiectasia is a remarkable manifestation of intravascular lymphoma, and the differential diagnosis of intravascular lymphoma and panniculitis or vasculitis is very important. When the diagnosis is confusing, multiple skin biopsies are useful.

Carotenoids are naturally occurring tetraterpenoids that play a key role in fruit coloration, and yellow peaches are one of the best sources of carotenoid intake. MYB transcription factors are one of the largest families in plants and play an important role in the regulation of plant secondary metabolite biosynthesis. However, peach MYB family genes have not been fully analyzed, and in particular, MYBs that regulate carotenoid biosynthesis have not been fully characterized. In this study, 190 peach MYB genes, containing 68 1R-MYBs, 118 2R-MYBs, 3 3R-MYBs, and 1 4R-MYB, were identified at the genome level using bioinformatics methods. These 190 MYBs were classified into 27 subfamilies based on their phylogenetic relationships with Arabidopsis thaliana MYB family members, and they were unevenly distributed across eight chromosomes. MYB genes of the same subfamily exhibit similar but not identical gene structures and conserved motifs. The promoter regions contain cis-acting elements associated with stress response, hormone response, and plant growth and development. There were 54 collinear pairs of MYB genes in the peach genome, compared with 233 and 221 collinear pairs with Rosa chinensis and Arabidopsis, respectively. Thirteen differentially expressed genes in the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway in yellow peach were identified by transcriptome sequencing and contained MYB binding sites on their promoters. Based on a phylogenetic analysis, we identified 13 PpMYBs that may be involved in carotenoid biosynthesis, and a correlation analysis revealed that they regulate carotenoid accumulation by positively or negatively regulating the expression of carotenoid biosynthetic genes. Further degradome sequencing screened that mdm-miR858 was able to target PpMYB17 and PpMYB126 involved in the regulation of carotenoid biosynthesis. Our findings provide new insights into the potential role of MYB transcription factors in carotenoid biosynthesis and provide a theoretical basis for their molecular mechanisms.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation can promote plant growth, but specific research on the difference in the symbiosis effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and plant combination is not yet in-depth. Therefore, this study selected Medicago sativa L., Bromus inermis Leyss, and Festuca arundinacea Schreb., which were commonly used for restoring degraded land in China to inoculate with three AMF separately, to explore the effects of different AMF inoculation on the growth performance and nutrient absorption of different plants and to provide a scientific basis for the research and development of the combination of mycorrhiza and plants. We set up four treatments with inoculation Entrophospora etunicata (EE), Funneliformis mosseae (FM), Rhizophagus intraradices (RI), and non-inoculation. The main research findings are as follows: the three AMF formed a good symbiotic relationship with the three grassland plants, with RI and FM having more significant inoculation effects on plant height, biomass, and tiller number. Compared with C, the aboveground biomass of Medicago sativa L., Bromus inermis Leyss, and Festuca arundinacea Schreb. inoculated with AMF increased by 101.30–174.29%, 51.67–74.14%, and 110.67–174.67%. AMF inoculation enhanced the plant uptake of N, P, and K, and plant P and K contents were significantly correlated with plant biomass. PLS-PM analyses of three plants all showed that AMF inoculation increased plant nutrient uptake and then increased aboveground biomass and underground biomass by increasing plant height and root tillering. This study showed that RI was a more suitable AMF for combination with grassland degradation restoration grass species and proposed the potential mechanism of AMF–plant symbiosis to increase yield.

This study aimed to compare the effects of 12 weeks of functional strength training combined with aerobic training (TG) and traditional resistance training combined with aerobic training (CG) on the body composition, physical fitness, and movement quality of obese adolescents. Forty participants were randomly assigned to either the TG group (n = 20) or the CG group (n = 20). Each group underwent training five times per week, lasting 120 min each time, over a total period of 12 weeks. All participants followed a strict dietary program. Anthropometric parameters, body composition, physical fitness, and movement quality were evaluated at baseline and after intervention. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA observed a significant interaction between time and group for body mass (p = 0.043), body fat percentage (p = 0.045), body mass index (p = 0.025), neck circumference (p = 0.01), chest circumference (p = 0.027), left-hand grip strength (p = 0.043), right-hand grip strength (p = 0.048), standing broad jump (p = 0.044), and total Functional Movement Screen score (p = 0.003), and the improvement was greater for TG in comparison to CG. TG was found to be more effective than CG in enhancing body composition, physical fitness, and movement quality in obese adolescents.

This study is part of the preliminary research for the Chang’e 7 project in China. The Chang’e 7 project plans to drill to penetrate the lunar polar soil and collect lunar soil samples using a spiral groove structure. Ice in the cold environment of the lunar polar region is one of the important targets for sampling. In the vacuum environment of the lunar surface, icy soil samples are sensitive to ambient temperature and prone to solid–gas phase change as the temperature increases. To predict the temperature range of lunar soil samples, this study analyzed the effect of thermal parameters on the temperature rise of lunar soil particles and the drill using discrete element simulation. The parameters included in the thermal effect analysis included the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of the drilling tools and lunar soil particles. The simulation showed that the temperature of the icy lunar soil sample in the spiral groove ranged from −127.89 to −160.16 °C within the thermal parameter settings. The magnitude of the value was negatively correlated with the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of the lunar soil particles, and it was positively correlated with those of the drilling tools. The temperature variation in the drill bit ranged from −51.21 to −132 °C. The magnitude of the value was positively correlated with the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of the lunar soil particles and the thermal conductivity of the drilling tool.

Ensuring pedestrian safety is one of the most significant challenges for autonomous driving systems in urban scenarios due to the non-cooperative and unpredictable nature of pedestrian movements. To tackle this problem, firstly, we propose a collision avoidance strategy based on entropy-increasing risk perception in a vehicle–pedestrian reaction space. Our approach combines a limited range of reaction space regions with entropy to quantify the risk of pedestrian–vehicle collision. Then, multi-vehicle candidate trajectories are generated using the path and speed sequence method, and the uncertain states of pedestrians are predicted based on the social force model and Markov model accordingly. Finally, to determine the optimal collision avoidance trajectory, we use quantitative reaction-space entropy as a new “cost function” to measure potential risk and perform multi-objective trajectory optimization based on the elitist non-dominated-sorting genetic algorithm region-focused (NSGA-RF) approach. Simulation results show that our proposed strategy can enhance the safety of the planned trajectory interaction between vehicles and pedestrians for autonomous driving under normal and emergency conditions.

The sulfate transporter (SULTR) is responsible for the transport and uptake of sulfate, which plays an indispensable role in the growth cycle of plants and adaptation to plant stress. However, there are few reports on the response and regulation of SULTR gene family members in walnuts (Juglans regia L.) to sodium selenate, low temperatures, high temperatures, and simulated drought stress. In this study, the whole genome of the SULTR genes family in walnuts was identified and analyzed by the bioinformatics method. The results show that the walnut genome contains seventeen JrSULTR genes, which are unevenly distributed on eight chromosomes and can be divided into four subfamilies. Cis-acting elements that respond to stress and participate in the regulation of plant hormones were found in the promoter sequence of the JrSULTR genes. The analysis of transcriptome data showed that the expression of JrSULTR1.2b was significantly upregulated under sodium selenate treatment, and the results of qRT-PCR analysis were basically consistent with the transcriptome data. The expression of JrSULTR3.1a and JrSULTR3.4b increased with the prolongation of simulated drought stress time. The transcription levels of JrSULTR1.2b and JrSULTR3.1a were significantly increased after low-temperature treatment. After 9 h of high-temperature treatment, the expression levels of JrSULTR3.1a and JrSULTR3.3 were significantly increased. JrSULTR1.2b and JrSULTR3.1a showed significant expression specificity under stress treatment. At the same time, we also performed subcellular localization of these two genes, which was consistent with the predicted results and was in the cell membrane, and their regulatory functions need to be further studied. These studies laid the foundation for us to explore the specific function of the JrSULTR genes in alleviating abiotic stress in walnuts.

In academia, it is rare for an event or issue to foster the extensive participation of multiple disciplines. Research related to COVID-19 has undeniably yielded a wealth of valuable insights and impetus for the progress of interdisciplinary research, encompassing concepts, methodologies, intellectual approaches, theories, frameworks, data integration and analysis, and pertinent considerations. In the academic community, there is a widespread expectation that as science and technology continue to progress, the convergence of medicine with various other fields will gain momentum. Fields like computer science are anticipated to see expanded applications in domains such as medicine, vaccine research, disease diagnosis, and more. This study aims to examine interdisciplinary approaches in health-related research, particularly in the context of COVID-19. The goal is to analyze and comprehend the involvement and collaboration patterns of various disciplines in pandemic research, with a specific emphasis on the role and integration level of computer science. This study analyzed 240,509 COVID-19 related articles published from December 2019 to September 2022 using methods such as chord diagrams, modularity analysis, and eigenvector centrality analysis in Social Networking Analysis (SNA). The findings revealed an emerging trend of integration trend between Humanities & Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. Expectations that computer science would prominently feature in pandemic research during this technology-driven era haven’t materialized. While it maintains links with engineering, it hasn’t formed strong connections with medicine. This indicates a gap between computer science and core medical research in large-scale health crises, where COVID-19 research remains centered on medicine with varying interdisciplinary collaboration, and high-tech disciplines like computer science have not achieved their expected influence in these studies.

Martian rocks contain crucial information about the genesis of Mars and the historical evolution of Martian climate change. Consequently, extracting and examining Martian rocks are pivotal in advancing our comprehensive understanding of the red planet. However, the current core drill string is prone to wear and tear, and the samples are susceptible to thermal denaturation. To address these challenges, we introduce two novel types of drill bits, the conical straight junk slot and the conical spiral junk slot, both employing impregnated diamond as the primary material. Comparative experiments were meticulously conducted to evaluate the influence of different junk configurations on drilling parameters, including speed, abrasion resistance, drilling force loading, and sample temperature rise. The findings unequivocally demonstrate the superior performance of the spiral junk slot. Furthermore, simulations were performed to examine the drilling process on basalt using a fixed configuration drill bit, validating the occurrence of the sample temperature rise. The research presented in this paper offers valuable programmatic references and essential data support for future Martian rock coring drilling missions.

Sperm cryopreservation is a valuable tool for breeding, conservation, and genetic improvement in aquatic resources, while oxidative damage will cause a decline in sperm quality during this progress. Melatonin (MT), a natural antioxidant hormone, is used as an additive in sperm cryopreservation to reduce cellular damage from oxidative stress. Here, we aimed to investigate the effect of adding MT to the freezing medium in sperm cryopreservation of brown-marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus). Different concentrations of MT (0, 0.1, 0.25, and 0.5 mg/mL) were tested. We evaluated sperm motility, viability, apoptosis, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), and fertilization ability to assess the effects of MT supplementation. Our results demonstrated that the addition of MT to the extender improved the post-thaw motility, MMP, and fertilization ability of brown-marbled grouper sperm. The total motility, curvilinear velocity, straight linear velocity, and average path velocity in MT-treated groups (0.1 and 0.25 mg/mL) exhibited significantly higher values than that of the control group. A higher MMP (p < 0.05) was observed in the group treated with 0.25 mg/mL MT, suggesting that supplementation of MT in the extender might be able to protect mitochondrial membrane integrity effectively. Regarding fertilizing ability, 0.25 mg/mL MT yielded a significantly higher hatching rate than the control. An adverse effect was found with the concentration of MT up to 0.5 mg/mL, suggesting the possible toxicity of a high-dose addition. In this study, we optimized the sperm cryopreservation protocol of brown-marbled grouper, which might be valuable for sperm cryopreservation and sample commercialization of groupers and other fish.

In this paper, a graph convolutional network is constructed and applied for bearing fault diagnosis. Specifically, the constant-Q transform (CQT) is first adopted for spectral analysis of vibration signals, where the frequencies are distributed in the logarithmic scale. Varied frequency resolutions can be obtained to satisfy the spectral resolution requirement and reduce signal dimension. Afterwards, the CQT spectrum is modeled by a graph, where nodes are frequency bins and edges reflect the inner relationship of different bins. There are edges between the fundamental and harmonic components. Then, a two-layer graph convolutional network (GCN) is utilized to assess the significance of vibration sources within the mixed signals. Finally, the bearing faults are determined according to the output of the GCN. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to model the vibration signal in this graph structure. The advantage of this approach lies in the simplification of edge definitions, facilitating shared connectivity relationships between the fundamental frequency and harmonics. Its performance was compared with another state-of-the-art fault diagnosis model. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model obtains higher accuracy, and it is more effective in extracting discriminative features.

Jieyu Pills (JYPs), a Chinese medicine consisting of 10 herbal elements, have displayed promising clinical effectiveness and low by-effects in the treatment of depression. Prior investigations mostly focused on elucidating the mechanism and therapeutic efficacy of JYPs. In our earlier study, we provided an analysis of the chemical composition, serum pharmacochemistry, and concentrations of the main bioactive chemicals found in JYPs. However, our precise understanding of the pharmacokinetics and metabolism remained vague. This study involved a comprehensive and meticulous examination of the pharmacokinetics of 13 bioactive compounds in JYPs. Using UPLC-Orbitrap Fusion MS, we analyzed the metabolic characteristics and established the pharmacokinetic parameters in both control rats and model rats with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) following oral administration of the drug. Before analysis, plasma samples that were collected at different time intervals after the administration underwent methanol pre-treatment with Puerarin used as the internal standard (IS) solution. Subsequently, the sample was chromatographed on a C18 column employing gradient elution. The mobile phase consisted of methanol solution containing 0.1% formic acid in water. The electrospray ionization source (ESI) was utilized for ionization, whereas the scanning mode employed was selected ion monitoring (SIM). The UPLC-Orbitrap Fusion MS method was subjected to a comprehensive validation process to assess its performance. The method demonstrated excellent linearity (r ≥ 0.9944), precise measurements (RSD < 8.78%), accurate results (RE: −7.88% to 8.98%), and appropriate extraction recoveries (87.83–102.23%). Additionally, the method exhibited minimal matrix effects (87.58–101.08%) and satisfactory stability (RSD: 1.52–12.42%). These results demonstrated adherence to the criteria for evaluating and determining biological material. The 13 bioactive compounds exhibited unique pharmacokinetic patterns in vivo. In control rats, all bioactive compounds except Ferulic acid exhibited linear pharmacokinetics within the dose ranges. In the ADHD model, the absorption rate and amount of most of the components were both observed to have increased. Essentially, this work is an important reference for examining the metabolism of JYPs and providing guidelines for clinical therapy.

Accurate assessments of the historical and current status of eco-environmental quality (EEQ) are essential for governments to have a comprehensive understanding of regional ecological conditions, formulate scientific policies, and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While various approaches to EEQ monitoring exist, they each have limitations and cannot be used universally. Moreover, previous studies lack detailed examinations of EEQ dynamics and its driving factors at national and local levels. Therefore, this study utilized a remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) to assess the EEQ of China from 2001 to 2021. Additionally, an emerging hot-spot analysis was conducted to study the spatial and temporal dynamics of the EEQ of China. The degree of influence of eight major drivers affecting EEQ was evaluated by a GeoDetector model. The results show that from 2001 to 2021, the mean RSEI values in China showed a fluctuating upward trend; the EEQ varied significantly in different regions of China, with a lower EEQ in the north and west and a higher EEQ in the northeast, east, and south in general. The spatio-temporal patterns of hot/cold spots in China were dominated by intensifying hot spots, persistent cold spots, and diminishing cold spots, with an area coverage of over 90%. The hot spots were concentrated to the east of the Hu Huanyong Line, while the cold spots were concentrated to its west. The oscillating hot/cold spots were located in the ecologically fragile agro-pastoral zone, next to the upper part of the Hu Huanyong Line. Natural forces have become the main driving force for changes in China’s EEQ, and precipitation and soil sand content were key variables affecting the EEQ. The interaction between these factors had a greater impact on the EEQ than individual factors.

High-entropy alloys (HEAs) attract much attention as possible radiation-resistant materials due to their several unique properties. In this work, the generation and evolution of the radiation damage response of an FeNiCrCoCu HEA and bulk Ni in the early stages were explored using molecular dynamics (MD). The design, concerned with investigating the irradiation tolerance of the FeNiCrCoCu HEA, encompassed the following: (1) The FeNiCrCoCu HEA structure was obtained through a hybrid method that combined Monte Carlo (MC) and MD vs. the random distribution of atoms. (2) Displacement cascades caused by different primary knock-on atom (PKA) energy levels (500 to 5000 eV) of the FeNiCrCoCu HEA vs. bulk Ni were simulated. There was almost no element segregation in bulk FeNiCrCoCu obtained with the MD/MC method by analyzing the Warren–Cowley short-range order (SRO) parameters. In this case, the atom distribution was similar to the random structure that was selected as a substrate to conduct the damage cascade process. A mass of defects (interstitials and vacancies) was generated primarily by PKA departure. The number of adatoms grew, which slightly roughened the surface, and the defects were distributed deeper as the PKA energy increased for both pure Ni and the FeNiCrCoCu HEA. At the time of thermal spike, one fascinating phenomenon occurred where the number of Frenkel pairs for HEA was more than that for pure Ni. However, we obtained the opposite result, that fewer Frenkel pairs survived in the HEA than in pure Ni in the final state of the damage cascade. The number and size of defect clusters grew with increasing PKA energy levels for both materials. Defects were suppressed in the HEA; that is to say, defects were “cowards”, behaving in an introverted manner according to the anthropomorphic rhetorical method.

Globally, the high consumption levels of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and their effect on health have drawn significant attention. This study aimed to identify the consumption patterns of SSBs among children in rural areas of Guangzhou, China, and explore their association with undernutrition. A total of 1864 children aged 9–17 years old were included in this study. Demographics, lifestyle behaviors, and anthropometric and dietary information were collected. Factor analysis was used to identify patterns of SSBs, while nutritional status was assessed using Body Mass Index (BMI). Latent class analysis was used to establish dietary preference models. Log-binomial regression analysis was used to analyze the association between SSBs consumption patterns and undernutrition. The undernutrition prevalence in children was 14.54–19.94% in boys and 9.07% in girls. Three SSB consumption patterns were identified, including the plant protein pattern, dairy-containing pattern, and coffee pattern. Both medium-high (Q3) and the highest (Q4) scores in the dairy-containing pattern were positively associated with the risk of undernutrition, especially in boys. Furthermore, the highest scores in the plant protein pattern and coffee pattern were positively associated with the risk of undernutrition in children aged 9–10 years old. The dairy-containing pattern was a risk factor for undernutrition in children, especially for boys; the plant protein patterns and coffee patterns were risk factors for undernutrition in children aged 9–10 years old. The findings of the study can provide scientific evidence and policy recommendations for improving children’s health conditions.

In this study, a quantitative detection method of pipeline cracks based on a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) was developed using the time-domain signal of ultrasonic guided waves and the crack size of the pipeline as the input and output, respectively. Pipeline ultrasonic guided wave detection signals under different crack defect conditions were obtained via numerical simulations and experiments, and these signals were input as features into a multi-layer perceptron and one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) for training. The results revealed that the 1D-CNN performed better in the quantitative analysis of pipeline crack defects, with an error of less than 2% in the simulated and experimental data, and it could effectively evaluate the size of crack defects from the echo signals under different frequency excitations. Thus, by combining the ultrasonic guided wave detection technology and CNN, a quantitative analysis of pipeline crack defects can be effectively realized.

The coupling of three-level giant atoms with one-dimensional waveguides can show interesting phenomena of transmission and reflection. Since the non-waveguide mode can cause the dissipation of external atoms, we consider the effect of the dissipation rate on the scattering of single photons in the system with giant atom–waveguide coupling. We find that as the dissipation rate of giant atoms increases, the transmission rate of a single photon increases and the reflection rate decreases. In addition, by varying the phase difference and decay rate, the giant atoms are able to achieve perfect transmission and total reflection over the entire frequency range. We also find and show the conditions for the conversion of the optimal frequency. When the cumulative phase of photons reaches a certain value, the system can achieve perfect transmission, which is independent of frequency. This model of coupling giant atoms with waveguides has a promising application in quantum communication and quantum information processing.

Chitosan is widely used in the production of various hydrogels due to its non-biological toxicity, good biocompatibility, and strong biodegradability. However, chitosan-based hydrogels have not been widely used in tissue engineering due to their poor mechanical strength, poor stability and high biotoxicity of cross-linking agents. As a green technology, low temperature plasma is rich in active groups that can be involved in various chemical reactions, such as replacing the components on the chitosan chain, contributing to the cross-linking of chitosan. In this study, a plasma-assisted preparation method of chitosan-based hydrogels was developed and the properties, including mechanics, water absorption, and degradation (or stability), were characterized and analyzed. It is proved that plasma treatment plays a significant role in improving the mechanical strength and stability of hydrogels.

The main buffet suppression techniques of aircrafts include active and passive flow control, aiming to reduce the impact of the fluctuating loads on the airfoil. These techniques are remedies after the airfoil design. The buffet suppression is not always considered in the aerodynamic optimization in the state of airfoil design because it is difficult to extract an appropriate key objective variable to indicate the flow stability. In this paper, the damping rate of disturbance, which is computed by the global stability analysis, can be used to indicate flow stability. Based on the global stability analysis, a transonic buffet suppression methodology by airfoil optimization is proposed. The objective is to improve the aerodynamic performance as well as the flow stability in the desired flight state. The RAE2822 airfoil is chosen as the initial airfoil. A benchmark of the unsteady aerodynamic configuration optimization design considering buffet suppression is developed. First, the numerical methods are verified and the damping rate of disturbance is chosen as a constraint in the aerodynamic optimization to extend the buffet onset. Then, the surrogate models constructed by the radial basis function interpolation are used to replace the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver. The teaching- and learning-based optimization (TLBO) is used. Finally, the aerodynamic and the flow stability characteristics of the airfoil before and after optimization are compared and analyzed. The proposed optimization framework can not only improve the aerodynamic characteristics in the cruise state but can also suppress the transonic buffet on higher angles of attack.

In recent years, short-term composting techniques have been widely applied in oyster mushroom cultivation, but there is still a lack of systematic research on their impact on the nutritional and functional properties of fruiting bodies. In this study, the microbial inoculant Streptomyces thermoviolaceus BUA-FM01 (ST) was applied in the short-term composting process for oyster mushroom cultivation. The agronomic traits, nutritional composition, flavor compounds, and antioxidant activity of fruiting bodies from the first three flushes were evaluated. The results show that microbial inoculation significantly (p < 0.05) reduced the total carbon content and C/N ratio of the composted substrates and, furthermore, increased the total yield of the fruiting bodies. Moreover, microbial inoculation significantly (p < 0.05) increased the crude protein, crude polysaccharide, total amino acid, and essential amino acid contents of the fruiting bodies. The fruiting bodies of the first flush of ST treatment possessed the highest umami amino acid content and equivalent umami concentration value. Furthermore, microbial inoculation significantly (p < 0.05) enhanced the scavenging ability of crude polysaccharides toward free radicals. The results indicate that microbial inoculation has many benefits for the composting cultivating process of oyster mushrooms and good application prospects.

In this paper, the laser pulse time compression technique, based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and passive laser–induced breakdown (LIB) series technology, is investigated. By doping a SiC nanowire in a CCl4 solution of an LIB breakdown medium, the LIB generation threshold is reduced, and the stability of the LIB compression output is improved. When OD is 0.2, the output pulse width is 254.4 ps, and the corresponding energy conversion efficiency and pulse compression rate are 34.2% and 50.2%, respectively. Our experiment proves the feasibility of this scheme.

In order to enhance the stability of vehicle pose estimation within driving videos, a novel methodology for optimizing vehicle structural parameters is introduced. This approach hinges on evaluating the reliability of edge point sequences. Firstly, a multi−task and iterative convolutional neural network (MI−CNN) is constructed, enabling the simultaneous execution of four critical tasks: vehicle detection, yaw angle prediction, edge point location, and visibility assessment. Secondly, an imperative aspect of the methodology involves establishing a local tracking search area. This region is determined by modeling the limitations of vehicle displacement between successive frames. Vehicles are matched using a maximization approach that leverages point similarity. Finally, a reliable edge point sequence plays a pivotal role in resolving structural parameters robustly. The Gaussian mixture distribution of vehicle distance change ratios, derived from two measurement models, is employed to ascertain the reliability of the edge point sequence. The experimental results showed that the mean Average Precision (mAP) achieved by the MI−CNN network stands at 89.9%. A noteworthy observation is that the proportion of estimated parameters whose errors fall below the threshold of 0.8 m consistently surpasses the 85% mark. When the error threshold is set at less than 0.12 m, the proportion of estimated parameters meeting this criterion consistently exceeds 90%. Therefore, the proposed method has better application status and estimation precision.

The modern urban transportation service network could be split into unrestricted and restricted networks depending on whether travelers face limitations in route selection. Along with the continuous expansion of the city, it is difficult for travelers to find a more reasonable travel solution when confronted with such a complex transportation service network, which combines both unrestricted and restricted networks, especially for the park-and-ride (P&R) travel mode. This paper addresses the issue of route analysis in modern urban transportation service systems to provide travelers with reasonable travel solutions based on multiple types of transportation services. An improved A* algorithm is proposed to address the optimal path analysis for restricted networks to provide reasonable travel solutions for public transportation trips. Furthermore, by establishing the topological relationship between restricted and unrestricted networks, this paper presented an improved A* algorithm based on hybrid networks that solves the optimal path analysis problem for P&R trips, bringing convenience to many urban travelers.

Urban autonomous vehicles on city roads are subject to various constraints when changing lanes, and commonly used trajectory planning methods struggle to describe these conditions accurately and directly. Therefore, generating accurate and adaptable trajectories is crucial for safer and more efficient trajectory planning. This study proposes an optimal control model for local path planning that integrates dynamic vehicle constraints and boundary conditions into the optimization problem’s constraint set. Using the lane-changing scenario as a basis, this study establishes environmental and collision avoidance constraints during driving and develops a performance metric that optimizes both time and turning angle. The study employs the Gauss pseudo-spectral method to continuously discretize the state and control variables, converting the optimal control problem into a nonlinear programming problem. Using numerical solutions, variable control and state trajectories that satisfy multiple constraint conditions while optimizing the performance metric are generated. The study employs two weights in the experiment to evaluate the method’s performance, and the findings demonstrate that the proposed method guarantees safe obstacle avoidance, is stable, and is computationally efficient at various interpolation points compared to the Legendre pseudo-spectral method (LPM) and the Shooting method.

This paper studies the estimation problem for semi-varying coefficient heteroscedastic instrumental variable models with missing responses. First, we propose the adjusted estimators for unknown parameters and smooth functional coefficients utilizing the ordinary profile least square method and instrumental variable adjustment technique with complete data. Second, we present an adjusted estimator of the stochastic error variance by employing the Nadaraya–Watson kernel estimation technique. Third, we apply the inverse probability-weighted method and instrumental variable adjustment technique to construct the adaptive-weighted adjusted estimators for unknown parameters and smooth functional coefficients. The asymptotic properties of our proposed estimators are established under some regularity conditions. Finally, numerous simulation studies and a real data analysis are conducted to examine the finite sample performance of the proposed estimators.

The walnut (Juglans regia) is a nut with a high nutritional value and has been recognized throughout the world as an economically important woody plant. However, the walnut is vulnerable to abiotic stresses, especially low-temperature freezes, which can severely impede their growth and development, resulting in substantial financial losses. The CBF (C-repeat binding factor) gene, a unique plant transcription factor classified within the AP2/ERF (ethylene response factor) family, plays a vital role in the process of plants coping with abiotic stress, particularly low temperatures. This study utilized bioinformatics techniques to identify eight JrCBF genes within the walnut genome, distributed across six chromosomes. The upstream promoter sequences of these genes are rich in cis-regulatory elements related to hormonal responses and non-biotic stresses. Transcriptome data and qRT-PCR analysis revealed that JrCBF1 and JrCBF2 were significantly upregulated under low temperatures. JrCBF1 and JrCBF2 also responded positively to high-temperature stress. Under drought stress, JrCBF5 and JrCBF8 had a significant difference in their expression relative to other genes. To gain further insights into their functionality, subcellular localization experiments were conducted on JrCBF1 and JrCBF2, confirming their nuclear localization. These results provide valuable insights into the specific functions of CBF gene in enhancing the resistance of walnut to abiotic stress.

Currently, in the process of autonomous parking, the algorithm detection accuracy and rate of parking spaces are low due to the diversity of parking scenes, changes in lighting conditions, and other unfavorable factors. An improved algorithm based on YOLOv5-OBB is proposed to reduce the computational effort of the model and increase the speed of model detection. Firstly, the backbone module is optimized, the Focus module and SSP (Selective Spatial Perception) module are replaced with the general convolution and SSPF (Selective Search Proposals Fusion) modules, and the GELU activation function is introduced to reduce the number of model parameters and enhance model learning. Secondly, the RFB (Receptive Field Block) module is added to fuse different feature modules and increase the perceptual field to optimize the small target detection. After that, the CA (coordinate attention) mechanism is introduced to enhance the feature representation capability. Finally, the post-processing is optimized using spatial location correlation to improve the accuracy of the vehicle position and bank angle detection. The implementation results show that by using the improved method proposed in this paper, the FPS of the model is improved by 2.87, algorithm size is reduced by 1 M, and the mAP is improved by 8.4% on the homemade dataset compared with the original algorithm. The improved model meets the requirements of perceived accuracy and speed of parking spaces in autonomous parking.

(1) Background: the low-affinity calcium uptake system (LACS) has been shown to play a crucial role in the conidiation and formation of adhesive nets and knobs by nematode-trapping fungi (NTF), but its involvement in the formation of constricting rings (CRs), mechanical traps to capture free-living nematodes, remains unexplored. (2) Methods: we investigated the function of two LACS genes (DdaFIG_1 and DdaFIG_2) in Drechslerella dactyloides, an NTF that forms CRs. We generated single (DdaFIG_1Ri and DdaFIG_2Ri) and double (DdaFIG_1,2Ri) knockdown mutants via the use of RNA interference (RNAi). (3) Results: suppression of these genes significantly affected conidiation, trap formation, vegetative growth, and response to diverse abiotic stresses. The number of CRs formed by DdaFIG_1Ri, DdaFIG_2Ri, and DdaFIG_1,2Ri decreased to 58.5%, 59.1%, and 38.9% of the wild-type (WT) level, respectively. The ring cell inflation rate also decreased to 73.6%, 60.6%, and 48.8% of the WT level, respectively. (4) Conclusions: the LACS plays multiple critical roles in diverse NTF.

Anemia affects 1.8 billion people worldwide, and diet is one of the key modifiable factors for treating anemia in children. The dietary pattern has changed rapidly in recent decades, but its effect on childhood anemia has not been reported. This study aimed to identify dietary patterns among children in rural areas of Guangzhou, China, and explore their association with anemia. A total of 1476 children aged 9–16 years old were included in this study. Demographics, lifestyle, and anthropometric and dietary information were collected. Factor analysis was used to identify dietary patterns, and anemia was diagnosed based on hemoglobin levels. Robust Poisson regression and subgroup analysis were used to analyze the association between dietary patterns and anemia. The prevalence of anemia in children was 10.4%, with 6.1% in boys and 15.4% in girls. Four dietary patterns were identified, including a fast food pattern, a vegetarian pattern, a meat and egg pattern, and a rice and wheat pattern. A high score in the fast food pattern was positively associated with risk of anemia in children entering puberty (PR = 1.767, 95% CI: 1.026~3.043, p = 0.039), especially in girls after menarche, with marginal significance (PR = 1.740, 95% CI: 0.977~3.097, p = 0.059). A high score in the meat and egg pattern was negatively associated with risk of anemia in children entering puberty (PR = 0.498, 95% CI: 0.286~0.866, p = 0.013), especially in boys after spermatorrhea (PR = 0.237, 95% CI: 0.031~0.590, p = 0.007). The fast food pattern was a risk factor for anemia in children, and the meat and egg pattern was a protective factor for anemia in children entering puberty. The findings of this study could be used to guide the strategies of evidence-based preventive nutrition interventions to curb anemia in children.

Vibrio splendidus is a pathogen that infects a wide range of hosts, especially the sea cucumber species Apostichopus japonicus. Previous studies showed that the level of L-glutamic acid (L-Glu) significantly increased under heat stress, and it was found to be one of the best carbon sources used by V. splendidus AJ01. In this study, the effects of exogenous L-Glu on the coelomocyte viability, tissue status, and individual mortality of sea cucumbers were analyzed. The results showed that 10 mM of L-Glu decreased coelomocyte viability and increased individual mortality, with tissue rupture and pyknosis, while 0.1 mM of L-Glu slightly affected the survival of sea cucumbers without obvious damage at the cellular and tissue levels. Transcriptomic analysis showed that exogenous L-Glu upregulated 343 and downregulated 206 genes. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis showed that differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were mainly enriched in signaling and membrane formation, while a Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that DEGs were significantly enriched in the upregulated endocytosis and downregulated lysosomal pathways. The coelomocyte viability further decreased by 20% in the simultaneous presence of exogenous L-Glu and V. splendidus AJ01 compared with that in the presence of V. splendidus AJ01 infection alone. Consequently, a higher sea cucumber mortality was also observed in the presence of exogenous L-Glu challenged by V. splendidus AJ01. Real-time reverse transcriptase PCR showed that L-Glu specifically upregulated the expression of the fliC gene coding the subunit protein of the flagellar filament, promoting the swimming motility activity of V. splendidus. Our results indicate that L-Glu should be kept in a state of equilibrium, and excess L-Glu at the host–pathogen interface prompts the virulence of V. splendidus via the increase of bacterial motility.

Jinshui-Huanxian granules (JHGs), a Chinese herbal compound prescription, have shown a therapeutic effect in reducing lung tissue damage, improving the degree of pulmonary fibrosis, replenishing lungs and kidneys, relieving cough and asthma, reducing phlegm, and activating blood circulation. However, these active compounds’ pharmacokinetics and metabolic processes were unclear. This study aimed to compare the pharmacokinetics, reveal the metabolic dynamic changes, and obtain the basic pharmacokinetic parameters of 16 main bioactive compounds after intragastric administration of JHGs in control and pulmonary fibrosis (PF) model rats by using Orbitrap Fusion MS. After administration of JHGs, the rat plasma was collected at different times. Pretreating the plasma sample with methanol and internal standard (IS) solution carbamazepine (CBZ), and it was then applied to a C18 column by setting gradient elution with a mobile phase consisting of methanol 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution. Detection was performed on an electrospray ionization source (ESI), and the scanning mode was SIM. Pharmacokinetic parameters were analyzed according to the different analytes’ concentrations in plasma. The matrix effect was within the range of 79.01–110.90%, the extraction recovery rate was 80.37–102.72%, the intra-day and inter-day precision relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 7.76%, and the stability was good, which met the requirements of biological sample testing. The method was validated (r ≥ 0.9955) and applied to compare the pharmacokinetic profiles of the control group and PF model group after intragastric administration of the JHGs. The 16 analytes exhibited different pharmacokinetic behaviors in vivo. In the pathological state of the PF model, most of the components were more favorable for metabolism and absorption, and it was more meaningful to study the pharmacokinetics. Above all, this study provided an essential reference for exploring the mechanism of action of JHGs and guided clinical medication as well.

Building an autonomous driving system requires a detailed and unified semantic representation from multiple cameras. The bird’s eye view (BEV) has demonstrated remarkable potential as a comprehensive and unified perspective. However, most current research focuses on innovating the view transform module, ignoring whether the crucial image encoder can construct long-range feature relationships. Hence, we redesign an image encoder with a large kernel attention mechanism to encode image features. Considering the performance gains obtained by the complex view transform module are insignificant, we propose a simple and effective Bilinear-Attention Transform module to lift the dimension completely. Finally, we redesign a BEV encoder with a CNN block of a larger kernel size to reduce the distortion of BEV features away from the ego vehicle. The results on the nuScenes dataset confirm that our model outperforms other models with equivalent training settings on the segmentation task and approaches state-of-the-art performance.

Acute hypoxia is a common abiotic stress in commercial aquaculture and has significant effects on fish physiology and metabolism. Due to its large size and rapid growth, the greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) is an economically important fish with high farming value. This species is intolerant to hypoxia, which makes it susceptible to mass mortality and hinders the progress of amberjack cultivation. Based on a comparative analysis of the liver transcriptome between acute hypoxia-tolerant (HT) and -intolerant (HS) groups, this study first explored the molecular mechanisms of acute hypoxia in greater amberjack. By simulating the acute hypoxic environment and using RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq), the differences in liver transcriptional changes between the acute hypoxia-tolerant (HT) and hypoxia-intolerant (HS) groups of greater amberjack were probed. Based on differential expression analysis, 829 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened in both groups. Relative to the HS group, 374 DEGs were upregulated and 455 were downregulated in the HT group. Compared with the HS group, genes such as slc2a5 and prkaa2 related to promoting sugar transport and inhibiting lipid syntheses were upregulated, while genes that inhibit gluconeogenesis and promote lipid syntheses, such as pgp and aacs, were downregulated. The expression of odc1 was significantly and relatively downregulated in the HT group, which would lead to the inhibition of intracellular antioxidant activity and decreased scavenging of ROS. The NF-kB pathway was also promoted to some extent in individuals in the HT group relative to the HS group to resist apoptosis. In addition, the relative downregulation of apoptosis and autophagy-related genes, such as endog, hm13, and casp6, was also detected in the HT group. The present findings first reported the regulation mechanism by which liver tissue coped with the acute hypoxia stress in greater amberjack, which will provide important technical support for preventing acute hypoxia-induced death in advance and reducing economic losses.

The rapid expansion of urbanization both in scale and population leads to a series of serious urban diseases, which become a huge obstacle to the healthy and sustainable development of cities. To alleviate these problems and challenges, China launched a smart city construction program in the past decade and has taken the lead in smart city construction in the world. However, there is still a lack of reflection and summary on the practice of smart cities in China. Based on the definition and concept of smart city, this paper points out the internal and external driving factors of China’s smart city development, then summarizes the four major characteristics of China’s smart city construction practice, and explores the main problems existing in the process of China’s smart city construction. Through the reflection and summary, we can facilitate development of smart cities in China, provide useful reference to urban planners and smart city practitioners in other countries and regions, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of cities.

The ability of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles to make human-like decisions can be enhanced by providing more detailed information about vehicles and in-vehicle users’ states. In this paper, the driving status domains of vehicles in left turn across path/opposite direction (LTAP/OD) scenarios are subdivided into comfort, discomfort, extreme, and crash, and the boundaries of each status domain are quantified and visualized. First, real unprotected left turn road segments are chosen for the actual vehicle testing. Subjective passenger comfort evaluation results and objective motion state data of vehicles during the experiment are organized and analyzed by statistics. In addition, the pictorials are plotted to determine the comfort and extreme status domain boundaries based on motion state parameters. Second, based on the unprotected left turn kinematic analysis and modeling, as well as a skilled driver risk perception and operational model, the Safe Collision Plots (SCP) of conflicting vehicles in LTAP/OD scenarios are quantified and expressed as pictorial examples. By combining objective motion parameters and passenger experience, intuitively quantifying each driving status domain of vehicles can provide more fine-grained information for the design parameters of ADAS and autonomous vehicles and increase public trust and acceptance of them.

To provide reliable input information for the load design and extraction of lunar soil water ice samples, it is necessary to study the water content distribution and water migration of simulated lunar soil water ice samples. On this basis, the temperature field model and the hydrothermal coupling relationship are proposed. The temperature field model was constructed by combining energy conservation and Fourier’s heat transfer law. The coupling relationship was established, and the hydrothermal coupling model was obtained by testing the unfrozen water content using the nuclear magnetic resonance method. Finite element software was used to solve the model numerically, and the water migration rule of the soil water ice samples at different ambient temperatures were analyzed. Thin-wall drilling tests were carried out on the simulated lunar soil water ice samples to obtain water content data for different locations, and the simulation results were verified. Due to the migration effect of the cold end of the water, the closer we tested to the edge of the sample, the higher the water content was. The higher the ambient temperature was, the more pronounced the water migration phenomenon of the whole sample was. These research results provide a basis for sampling scheme design.

The springback phenomenon has an impact on tube-processing quality during the free-bending process. For different pipe benders, the forming process is affected by different factors, such as gaps between the tube and the bending die and friction between the tube and the guiding mechanism and the bending die; thus, the theoretical U-R relationship cannot complete the precise processing required. In order to overcome the influence of springback during the free-bending forming process, a U-R experiment was performed first, and the actual U-R relationship was established. The U-R experiment demonstrated that when the bending die offset U increased, the tube-bending radius R decreased. Then, based on the results of the springback experiments, a springback prediction method was presented. The experimental method successfully predicted springback, demonstrating that the springback problem can be effectively solved through compensation of the arc section.

Water ice is an important water source in lunar polar soil. Drilling and sampling lunar polar soil are important engineering tasks of lunar exploration. In view of the influence of temperature rise on the quality of samples obtained by drilling, the heat transfer and temperature rise in drilled ice-containing lunar soil were investigated. In this study, a thermal simulation model for drilling lunar soil was established based on the discrete element method (DEM). Simulations of the drilling temperature of lunar soil containing ice at 3–5% were performed assuming normal pressure and low temperature. After validating the feasibility and accuracy of the simulation method, the temperatures of the drilling tools and lunar soil were analyzed. Furthermore, drilling in a vacuum was simulated as well, and the results indicated that ice sublimation was negligible for reasonable drilling procedures in the current study.

A reasonable assessment of urban ecological resilience (UER), as well as quantitative identification of critical thresholds of UER, is an important theoretical basis for the formulation of scientific urban development planning. The existing UER assessment methods ignore the dynamic relationship between protection factors and disturbance factors in urban systems and do not address the question of where UER starts to become unstable. Therefore, based on the “source-sink” landscape theory, we constructed a UER assessment model and a method to quantitatively identify the UER’s critical distance belt (UER-CDB) using the transect gradient analysis. Additionally, we combined scenario simulation to analyze the change characteristics of UER and its critical distance belt in different urban development directions over past and future periods. The results show that: (1) Based on the “source-sink” theory and transect gradient method, the UER can be effectively assessed and the UER-CDB can be quantitatively identified. (2) The UER in Beijing shows a distribution pattern of high in the northwest and low in the southeast, and the High resilience area accounts for more than 40%. (3) The changes in UER-CDB in Beijing in different development directions have obvious variability, which is mainly influenced by topography and policy planning. (4) Compared with the natural development scenario (NDS), the ecological protection scenario (EPS) is more consistent with Beijing’s future urban development plan and more conducive to achieving sustainable development. The methodology of this paper provides a fresh perspective for the study of urban ecological resilience and the critical threshold of ecosystems.

This paper presents a detailed thermal simulation analysis of the drilling process for icy soil in the lunar polar region. The aim is to investigate the temperature changes that occur in the debris removal area during the drilling process. We developed a multi-level particle size simulation model that includes a thermal sieve based on geometric constraints to evaluate the influence of specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity on particle temperature. Using the central composite design method, we carried out the simulation test design and analyzed the average temperature difference of particles within and outside the range of the thermal sieve. The parameters of the discrete element model were determined by comparing the temperature of the debris removal zone in the lunar environment with the temperature simulated by the discrete element method. The results show that the thermal conductivity of the sieve ranges from 100 to 400 W/m, and the average temperature inside the thermal sieve is negatively related to the specific heat capacity. The temperature deviation of the chip removal area is ±10 °C, which is consistent with the temperature deviation observed in the lunar environment and the lunar icy regolith drilling test. Furthermore, the addition of the thermal sieve to the multi-stage particle size simulation modeling significantly reduces the calculation time by 86%. This reduction in computational time may potentially increase the efficiency of drilling operations in the future. Our study provides insights into the thermal behavior of lunar icy regolith during drilling, and proposes a numerical model of heat transfer with a thermal sieve that can effectively reduce computational time while ensuring accurate temperature calculations.

During drilling into the soil, the rotating mechanical structure will be affected by soil particles and external disturbances, affecting the health of the rotating mechanical structure. Therefore, real-time monitoring of the operational status of rotating mechanical structures is of great significance. This paper proposes a working state recognition method based on Mel-spectrum and transfer learning, which uses the mechanical vibration signal’s time domain and frequency domain information to identify the mechanical structure’s working state. Firstly, we cut the signal at window length, and then the Mel-spectrum of the truncated signal is obtained through the Fourier transform and Mel-scale filter bank. Finally, we adopted the method of transfer learning. The pre-trained model VGG16 is adjusted to extract and classify the features of the Mel-spectrum. Experimental results show that the framework maintains an accuracy of more than 90% for vibration signals under minor window conditions, which verifies the real-time reliability of the method.
