A Cu-2.35Ni-0.69Si alloy with low La content was designed in order to study the role of La addition on microstructure evolution and comprehensive properties. The results indicate that the La element demonstrates a superior ability to combine with Ni and Si elements, via the formation of La-rich primary phases. Owing to existing La-rich primary phases, restricted grain growth was observed, due to the pinning effect during solid solution treatment. It was found that the activation energy of the Ni2Si phase precipitation decreased with the addition of La. Interestingly, the aggregation and distribution of the Ni2Si phase, around the La-rich phase, was observed during the aging process, owing to the attraction of Ni and Si atoms by the La-rich phase during the solid solution. Moreover, the mechanical and conductivity properties of aged alloy sheets suggest that the addition of the La element showed a slight reducing effect on the hardness and electrical conductivity. The decrease in hardness was due to the weakened dispersion and strengthening effect of the Ni2Si phase, while the decrease in electrical conductivity was due to the enhanced scattering of electrons by grain boundaries, caused by grain refinement. More notably, excellent thermal stabilities, including better softening resistance ability and microstructural stability, were detected for the low-La-alloyed Cu-Ni-Si sheet, owing to the delayed recrystallization and restricted grain growth caused by the La-rich phases.

Detecting moving objects in a video sequence is an important problem in many vision-based applications. In particular, detecting moving objects when the camera is moving is a difficult problem. In this study, we propose a symmetric method for detecting moving objects in the presence of a dynamic background. First, a background compensation method is used to detect the proposed region of motion. Next, in order to accurately locate the moving objects, we propose a convolutional neural network-based method called YOLOv3-SOD for detecting all objects in the image, which is lightweight and specifically designed for small objects. Finally, the moving objects are determined by fusing the results obtained by motion detection and object detection. Missed detections are recalled according to the temporal and spatial information in adjacent frames. A dataset is not currently available specifically for moving object detection and recognition, and thus, we have released the MDR105 dataset comprising three classes with 105 videos. Our experiments demonstrated that the proposed algorithm can accurately detect moving objects in various scenarios with good overall performance.

We reported the magnetic, dielectric and magnetoelectric properties of NdCrO3 polycrystalline ceramics. Magnetization curves revealed two magnetic transitions at 227 K and 38 K, which corresponded to Cr3+ canted antiferromagnetic ordering and Cr3+ spin reorientation phase transition, respectively. At 11.5 K, a Schottky-type anomaly was observed, caused by Nd3+ ground doublet Zeeman splitting. High-temperature dielectric relaxation exhibited a type of thermally activated relaxation process, which mainly resulted from the Maxwell&ndash, Wagner effect. The spin-reorientation of Cr3+ ions and the Nd3+ ground doublet splitting were observed to be accompanied by an electric polarization. The polarization could be induced by the presence of the antiferromagnetic-type domain walls, which led to spatial inversion symmetry breaking.

High temperature dielectric relaxation behaviors of single phase Mn3O4 polycrystalline ceramics prepared by spark plasma sintering technology have been studied. Two dielectric relaxations were observed in the temperature range of 200 K&ndash, 330 K and in the frequency range of 20 Hz&ndash, 10 MHz. The lower temperature relaxation is a type of thermally activated relaxation process, which mainly results from the hopping of oxygen vacancies based on the activation energy analysis. There is another abnormal dielectric phenomenon that is different from the conventional thermally activated behavior and is related to a positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PTCR) effect in the temperature region. In line with the impedance analyses, we distinguished the contributions of grains and grain boundaries. A comparison of the frequency-dependent spectra of the imaginary impedance with imaginary electric modulus suggests that both the long range conduction and the localized conduction are responsible for the dielectric relaxations in the Mn3O4 polycrystalline samples.
