The article outlines the details on several noteworthy records of corticoid fungi discovered in the course of mycological observations in Prypiat-Stokhid National Nature Park (Liubeshiv District, Volyn Region) in October, 2019. In Ukraine, Byssocorticium atrovirens is apparently known only from a single record of A. Pilat, 1933, from the present-day territory of Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. Piloderma bicolor has been earlier recorded only once from Skole Beskids National Nature Park, while Tomentella lilacinogrisea has been previously found in a single locality in Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. The data on detailed morphological descriptions, ecological peculiarities, substrate specialization, general distribution, photographs of basidiomata and original drawings of microstructures are provided.

The territory of Podilski Tovtry National Natural Park covers an area of 261 315 ha, 72 % of which are cultivated lands that facilitated the expansion of 335 adventive species. Research on invasive plant and animal species was carried out during field surveys in 1996–2019. More than 220 geobotanical descriptions were compiled applying the Brown-Blanque method. In this territory, 26 species display distinct aggression and are referred to as invasive, which belong to 15 families of the class Magnoliopsida and division Magnoliophyta. By origin, Northern American species prevail (15 species) followed by Asian (6) and European (5) species. By life form, annual herbal plants (therophytes) and trees predominate. Тherophytes mainly represent the family Asteraceae. The studies of the phytocenosis showed that the invasive species are part of 19 vegetation classes. The invasive species settled in 14 natural communities and they grow in 10 rare (singular) aggregations. To reduce the impact of invasive species on rare habitats and communities it is necessary to take measures to restore the natural vegetation cover. In the territory of Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park, 7 species of vertebrate animals are considered invasive, the naturalisation of which threatens and has negative influence on the local fauna. Another 6 species of birds and mammals, due to natural range expansion and anthropogenic changes of abiotic environmental factors, settled in urban landscapes and were introduced by means of synanthropisation; they can be considered as close invaders. Motacilla citreola occurs in wet meadows and has an unstable abundance, thus it belongs to propulsive species. Another 11 bird species appear in the surveyed territory during the autumn and winter periods or in separate years. Their invasiveness is possible due to abundance fluctuations during migration and changes in their migration routes because of the influence of trophic factors.

The article presents 80 relevés of bryophyte communities on living trees and dead wood sampled within Holosiivskyi National Nature Park (Kyiv, Ukraine). They are referred to 16 associations of 5 classes (Frullanio dilatatae-Leucodontetea sciuroidis, Cladonio digitatae-Lepidozietea reptantis, Neckeretea complanatae, Hylocomietea splendentis, Platyhypnidio-Fontinalietea antipyreticae). Most frequent are communities dominated by Hypnum cupressiforme and H. pallescens of the class Frullanio dilatatae-Leucodontetea sciuroidis (on bark of living trees) and Brachythecium rutabulum of the class Cladonio digitatae-Lepidozietea reptantis (on dead wood). In mesic forests, trees are usually not inhabited by bryophyte communities. Much more often, they occur in wet forests, near water, and in mesic forests in ravines. Four associations are reported in Ukraine for the first time: Callicladietum haldaniani LeBlanc 1963, Brachythecio rutabuli-Plagiomnietum cuspidati (Felföldy 1941) Plamada 1982, Brachythecio rivularis-Hygrohypnetum luridi Philippi 1965, and Leptodictyo riparii-Hygroamblystegietum varii Hugonnot et Celle 2013.

Here we present new records of diatoms for the algal flora of Ukraine from water bodies of Nyzhnosulsky National Nature Park. The following species are recorded for the first time in Ukraine: Achnanthidium eutrophilum, Caloneis biconstrictoides, Encyonema lacustre, Gomphonema angusticephalum, Karayevia kolbei, K. suchlandtii, Placoneis abiskoensis, P. paraelginensis, Stauroneis balatonis, and Tryblionella salinarum. Some of them are rare and noteworthy taxa. For Caloneis biconstrictoides, it is the third known record in the world; Placoneis abiskoensis is a rare Holarctic species. The reported records of the new, rare and interesting taxa in the investigated water bodies may indicate a high nature conservation significance of Nyzhniosulsky National Nature Park as an algal reserve. The taxonomic position, synonymy, morphological features, information about ecology, distribution and original photomicrographs are provided. У статті представлені дані щодо нових та цікавих видів діатомових водоростей флори України з водойм Національного природного парку "Нижньосульський". Види Achnanthidium eutrophilum, Caloneis biconstrictoides, Encyonema lacustre, Gomphonema angusticephalum, Karayevia kolbei, K. suchlandtii, Placoneis abiskoensis, P. paraelginensis, Stauroneis balatonis, Tryblionella salinarum є новими знахідками для флори України. Серед них є рідкісні та цікаві таксони. Для Caloneis biconstrictoides це третє місцезнаходження у світі, Placoneis abiskoensis є рідкісним голарктичним видом. Наявність нових, рідкісних та цікавих таксонів у досліджених водоймах засвідчує високе значення Національного природного парку "Нижньосульський" як альгорезервату зазначених видів. У статті наведено відомості про систематичне положення, синоніми, морфологічні характеристики, екологію і поширення виявлених видів та їхні оригінальні мікрофотографії.

Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park (Krasnokutsk District, Kharkiv Region, Ukraine) is represented by forest ecosystems and areas of forest marshes and swamp alders. Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park is adjacent to the floodplains of the Merla and Merchik rivers (Dnipro river basin). Studies of small mammals were conducted in 2004, 2008, 2011 and 2013–2018 in different biotopes. The data were collected using different types of traps, observation of animals in nature, fixation the traces of their vital activity, analysis of owl pellets, and surveys of the park’s staff and locals. Currently, 19 species of small mammals were identified for Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park and its surroundings, including 5 insectivorous and 14 rodent species. The number of species recorded in the study area is less than that for Kharkiv region (25 species) and for the two other national nature parks located in Kharkiv region (22 species in Dvorichanskyi NNP, 23 species in Gomilshanski lisy NNP). In total, 12 species of small mammals were caught by traps (4 insectivorous and 8 rodent species). Forest and eurytopic species such as Talpa europaea, Sorex araneus, Sorex minutus, Myodes glareolus, Sylvaemus sylvaticus / uralensis, Sylvaemus tauricus are the most widespread and abundant in Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park and its surrounding territories. Myodes glareolus is dominant in almost all biotopes except for floodplains. The typical meadow and steppe species Cricetulus migratorius and Alexandromys oeconomus are rare in Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park. Cricetulus migratorius is known only by bone remains from pellets of the tawny owl. Mus musculus and Rattus norvegicus occur near human settlements in the study area. The highest species richness of small mammals (11 species) is found in the floodplain. This can be explained by the specific conditions of the drained floodplain with trees and shrubs along reclamation channels. According to the research, the smallest number of species (3–4 species) was recorded in young pine plantations.

The succession of ungulate fauna was studied under conditions of artificially high density and limited residential area on the Biryuchy Island of the Azov-Sivash National Nature Park. Forming of inter-specific relationships between populations of the moufflon, red-deer and fallow-deer were revealed. The social hierarchy of the mentioned species, which are at the same trophic level, is determined. For the population of each species the factors influencing the dynamics of its number are given. Competition of species in steppe habitat is based solely on trophic relationships because the protective properties of the land are minimized. The forage base creates equal conditions for different species, since there is no woody vegetation in the steppe, which makes the large size of the red deer not important for the food obtaining. Concerning the fallow-deer, there is activation in reproductive potential, which is the part of the strategy in competition for resources and indicates its wider ecological lability in comparison with the red-deer. Meanwhile, a high level of adaptation to the conditions of the open steppe is noted in the moufflon, which (together with high reproductive capacity) rationally uses pasture potentials while the fallow-deer and red-deer have a certain level of stenophagy.

The article presents the results of a 10 years long research on roadkills in Sviati Hory National Nature Park. The research was held in 2006–2016. In total, 24 roadkilled bats belonging to 9 species were found: Myotis nattereri, Myotis daubentoni, Plecotus auritus, Nyctalus noctula, Pipistrellus kuhlii, Pipistrellus pygmaeus, Pipistrellus nathusii, Eptesicus serotinus, and Vespertilio murinus. All roadkilled specimens were recorded during the summer-autumn period, from June until November. The most frequent roadkills are the brown long-eared bat and two pipistrelle species. The negative impact of roads on populations of bats may not be significant in this region. Monitoring of roads on the subject of dead animals may be useful for the registration of finds of rare species and for collecting materials of species with high conservation status.

In total, 21 species of bats were found in the Skole Beskids National Nature Park. Among them, six species were recorded in the territory of the Park form the first time: Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Myotis brandtii, M. alcathoe, M. dasycneme, Plecotus austriacus, and Nyctalus leisleri. Additionally, R. ferrumequinum was recorded in Lviv region for the first time as well. During the summer, we observed 16 species of bats in the Park. The abundance of bats during this season was not very high, and the places with their most explicit activity were the Zhuravlyne and Polianetske lakes. It was established that 10 species take part in the fall swarming. The most abundant species during swarming was Myotis myotis. The period of swarming lasted from the beginning of September to the end of October. During the period of hibernation, 11 species of bats were observed. The bats were found in 5 of 15 examined caves on Kliuch mountain. The period of hibernation during the 2015/2016 season lasted from the third decade of November to the third decade of March. НПП «Сколівські Бескиди» виявлено 21 вид рукокрилих. Протягом досліджень було виявлено шість нових для території Парку види: Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Myotis brandtii, M. alcathoe, M. dasycneme, Plecotus austriacus, Nyctalus leisleri. Rhinolophus ferrumequinum виявлений вперше для території Львівської області. Під час літнього періоду у НПП трапляється 16 видів рукокрилих. Чисельність кажані протягом цього періоду не висока, місця найбільшої активності оз. Журавлине, оз. Полянецьке. Встановлено, що в осінньому роїнні беруть участь представники 10 видів рукокрилих. Найчисельніший вид на роїнні — M. myotis. Період роїння тривав з початку вересня до кінця жовтня. У період гібернації відмічено представників 11 видів рукокрилих. Кажани виявлені нами у 5 із 15 обстежених печер г. Ключ. Період зимівлі у сезон 2015/2016 рр. тривав із ІІІ декади листопада до ІІІ декади березня.

Corticioid fungi constitute a heterogeneous group in terms of origin; they belong to various orders of Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota). According to the available data, ca 280 species of this group have been so far recorded in Ukraine. As compared to other countries of Europe, diversity of corticioid fungi in Ukraine has been insufficiently studied. We made observations and collected corticioid fungi in June–October, 2016 and in March–October, 2017 in forests and woods of Ichnia National Nature Park (Ichnia District, Chernihiv Region, Ukraine). Upon identification of the herbarium specimens collected over the study area, we recorded 90 species of corticioid fungi. This article reports three noteworthy records of corticioid fungi. Two species, Amylocorticium canadense and Tubulicrinis glebulosus, are new records for Ukraine; another one, Aleurodiscus dextrinoideocerussatus, is a rare species both in Ukraine and globally, collected in our country for the second time, and a new record for the Forest-Steppe zone. The specimens were examined in 5% aqueous potassium hydroxide solution, Melzer's reagent and Lactophenol cotton blue. For all the species, we provide descriptions of the examined specimens, along with the original photos, substrate specialization and global distribution details. The collected specimens are deposited in the Mycological Herbarium of the M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (KW-M). Кортиціоїдні гриби належать до різних порядків класу Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota) і складають гетерогенну за походженням групу грибів. В Україні, за сучасними даними, відомо близько 280 видів грибів цієї групи. У порівнянні з іншими країнами Європи, видове різноманіття кортиціоїдних грибів України досліджено значно гірше. Матеріалами для цієї статті були зразки, зібрані протягом червня–жовтня 2016 р. та березня–жовтня 2017 р. у лісових угрупованнях Ічнянського національного природного парку (Ічнянський р-н, Чернігівська обл., Україна). На основі аналізу власних гербарних матеріалів в районі дослідження нами було виявлено 90 видів кортиціоїдних грибів. У статті наведені дані про цікаві знахідки трьох видів грибів. Два із них (Amylocorticium canadense та Tubulicrinis glebulosus) – нові для України, один (Aleurodiscus dextrinoideocerussatus) є рідкісним як в Україні, так і у світі, вдруге виявлений на території країни і є новим для Лісостепової зони. Для дослідження мікроструктур виготовляли тимчасові мікропрепарати у 5%-му водному розчині гідроксиду калію, реактиві Мельцера та бавовняному синьому у молочній кислоті. Для всіх видів подані описи досліджених зразків, що супроводжуються оригінальними фотографіями, інформацією про субстратну спеціалізацію та про поширення у світі. Зібрані зразки передано до Національного гербарію Інституту ботаніки ім. М.Г. Холодного НАН України (KW-М). Кортициоидные грибы принадлежат к разным порядкам класса Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota) и составляют гетерогенную по происхождению группу грибов. В Украине, по современным данным, известно около 280 видов грибов этой группы. В сравнении с другими странами Европы, видовое разнообразие кортициоидных грибов Украины исследовано значительно хуже. Материалами для настоящей статьи послужили образцы, собранные в июне–октябре 2016 г. и марте–октябре 2017 г. в лесных сообществах Ичнянского национального природного парка (Ичнянский р-н, Черниговская обл., Украина). На основе анализа собственных гербарных материалов в районе исследования нами было обнаружено 90 видов кортициоидных грибов. В статье приведены данные об интересных находках трех видов грибов. Два из них (Amylocorticium canadense и Tubulicrinis glebulosus) – новые для Украины, один (Aleurodiscus dextrinoideocerussatus) является редким как в Украине, так и в мире, второй раз обнаружен на территории страны и является новым для Лесостепной зоны. Для исследования микроструктур изготавливали временные микропрепараты в 5%-ном водном растворе гидроксида калия, реактиве Мельцера и хлопчатобумажном синем в молочной кислоте. Для всех видов представлены описания исследованных образцов, сопровождающиеся оригинальными фотографиями, информацией о субстратной специализации и о распространении в мире. Собранные образцы переданы в Национальный гербарий Института ботаники им. Н.Г. Холодного НАН Украины (KW-М).

The analysis of Muroidea communities in the Kremenets Mountains National Nature Park was provided. The research results conducted in 6 types of habitats of the park during 2012–2015 were processed. It was established that there are 9 species of the superfamily Muroidea in the Kremenets Mountains National Nature Park, among which the most common are Myodes glareolus, Sylvaemus tauricus, and Microtus arvalis. The hornbeam-oak forests, logs and meadows have the highest parameters of species and taxonomic richness of muroids. A direct proportional relationship between the distribution of the species in the region and the overall level of its population was indicated. The widely spread species have the highest population abundance belonging to eurytopic and forest assemblages. The high degree of species diversity in these habitats is due to the high availability and supply of environmental conditions for these rodents. The species diversity in the park’s territory is provided by a high variety of habitats and trophic resources.
