The article reflects on the political ambitions of former U.S. First Lady Hillary Clinton and her decision to run for the office of New York Senator as of July 2000. When her husband, Bill Clinton, became the U.S. President in 1993, Hillary was portrayed as the first First Lady with a real career and a degree from an Ivy League law school. During the President's impeachment trials, she made her decision to enter the Senate race. The author has a theory on why Hillary decided to run for the Senate, that it will provide her the opportunity for the escalating gala tributes, where important people convened to pay homage to her.
