There are certain non-malignant breast pathologies, which predispose patients to a higher risk of malignancy transformation. The important role of ultrasound in identifying these lesions early on helps clinicians plan appropriate management for patients. Given that some high-risk non-malignant lesions may display non-specific findings on imaging, diagnostic and management challenges arise for both the sonographers and clinicians. This presentation will discuss some of the important breast pathologies with high-risk malignancy potential including radial scars, phyllodes tumour, intraductal papillomas and atypical ductal hyperplasia. The emphasis of the presentation will be on the characterisation of their sonographic appearances and scanning techniques via illustration of case examples.
