Hatay ili patates üretim alanlarında 2013- 2014 yıllarında patates yumru, sürgün ve yaprak örnekleri toplanmıştır. Bitki örneklerinde önemli virüslere bakılmıştır. Yaygın virüslerden AMV (Alfaalfa mosaic virus), CMV (Cucumber mosaic virus), PLRV (Potato leafroll virus), PVX (Potato virus X), PVY (Potato virus Y) (PVY-N ve PVY-C) ve TRV (Tobacco rattle virus)’nin varlığı araştırılmıştır. Bu virüslerin simptomatolojik gözlemleri, iklim odasında yumru ile taşınma, test bitkilerine mekanik inokulasyon ve serolojik (DAS-ELISA) çalışmaları yapılarak incelenmiştir. Arazi çalışmalarında hasada yakın dönemde enfeksiyon oranlarının arttığı bitkilerde yapraklarda sarı mozaik lekelenmeler, yapraklarda ve özellikle tepe sürgünlerde şiddetli kloroz, damar nekrozu, boğum aralarında kısalma, yapraklarda küçülme ve rulo şeklinde yukarı doğru kıvrılma, tepe sürgünlerinde beyazlaşmaya yakın şiddetli kloroz, erken yaşlanma, yumrularda küçülme gibi belirtiler gözlenmiştir. Tohumluk yumru etinde %1 oranında nekrotik dokular gözlenmiştir. Patates örneklerinde en fazla PVY enfeksiyonu belirlenmiştir (%49.5). PLRV ve AMV enfeksiyonu %5.4 oranında bulunmuştur. Karışık enfeksiyon olarak düşük oranda PVY+PLRV bulunmuştur (%1.6). Mevcut bilgilerimize göre Hatay’da patates örneklerinde ilk kez AMV enfeksiyonu belirlenmiştir. İncelenen patates örneklerinde CMV, PVX ve TRV belirlenmemiştir. PVY ile enfekteli olduğu belirlenen bitkilerden tesadüfi seçilen 58 örneğin 35’inde PVY-N tesbit edilmiş (%60.3) ancak PVY-C tesbit edilememiştir. Potato plants and tubers were collected from potato fields in Hatay province of Turkey in 2013-2014. Major viral agents were investigated in the plant materials. The presence of commonly held viruses of AMV (Alfaalfa mosaic virus), CMV (Cucumber mosaic virus), PLRV (Potato leafroll virus), PVX (Potato virus X), PVY (Potato virus Y) (PVY-N and PVY-C) and TRV (Tobacco rattle virus) are searched. Virus diseases were detected by inspection of virus symptoms, serological assay (DAS-ELISA), transmission by seed potato tubers and mechanical transmission to test plants at protected and climatically controlled rooms. During harvesting period, virus infection rates were increased and different symptoms such as yellow mosaic speckles and severe chlorosis of leaves (especially on top shoots) , vein necrosis, multiple shoot formations, shorter internodes, smaller and rolled leaves, early senescent, smaller tubers were observed on potato plants. About 1% necrotic tissues were observed in the cross-section of the tubers. The most common viral infection determined was PVY (49.5%), following by PLRV and AMV infections (5.4%). PVY+PLRV (1.6%) were found as mixed infections. To our knowledge, it is the first report of AMV on potato samples in Hatay, in Turkey. CMV, PVX and TRV were not determined in the potato samples. A total of 35 samples were tested as PVY-N among randomly selected within 58 PVY infected samples (60.3%), but PVY-C was not found in any of them.
