The authors argue that the value of intensive fluid management and care is the most important take-home message from the case reports of Ebola virus disease (EVD) patients outside Africa. They say that it will be very hard to examine the contribution of a drug without comparative trials unless a new drug is profoundly effective. They add that the benefits of routine care like intravenous fluid and electrolyte support should be brought to all patients.
