The article reports on the U.S. 2008 presidential primaries to be held in more than 20 states including New York on February 5, 2008. In New York City, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Most voters there will be using the same 7,000 lever voting machines that have been used for decades, but some voters will be utilizing Ballot Marking Devices or BMDs to assist them in marking their paper ballots. BMD language options other than English include Spanish Korean and Chinese for text.
