No matter how bad this recession gets, you'll probably never again see Robert De Niro behind the wheel of a taxi. But if you'd like to see the actual hack license that Mr. De Niro wielded while he was preparing for his role in ''Taxi Driver,'' along with artifacts and papers from 68 of his other films, they're now easy enough to find. On Monday the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin announced that it had made available to researchers and the public the more than 1,300 boxes of papers, film, movie props and costumes donated by Mr. De Niro, above. The collection covers his career from the 1968 Brian De Palma feature ''Greetings'' through the 2005 film ''Hide and Seek.'' It includes the leopard-print boxing robe Mr. De Niro wore in ''Raging Bull'' and the coats he wore as the Creature in ''Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.'' [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
