Abstract
A recent study conducted by researchers at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom explored the factors that influence physical activity behavior in individuals with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). The study used a mixed-methods systematic review and analyzed data from 43 papers, most of which focused on children. The findings revealed that children with DCD engage in comparable levels of physical activity behavior to their peers at a young age, but differences emerge as they get older. The study also highlighted the impact of reduced physical capability and barriers to social opportunities on motivation to participate in physical activity. The researchers suggested that interventions could enhance enjoyment and motivation in the short term. [Extracted from the article]
