We present what is, to the best of our knowledge, the first pure-three-level Yb:Ca 4 GdO(BO 3 ) 3 (Yb:GdCOB) laser emitting at 976 nm based on the F 5/2 2-F2 7/2 transition, generally used for a quasi-three-level emission at 1032 nm. A maximum power of 782 mW at 976 nm has been achieved in continuous-wave (CW) operation pumped by a quasi-three-level Nd:SrLaAlO 4 laser emitting at 902 nm. Moreover, a self-frequency-doubling CW blue laser has also been demonstrated with a maximum power of 133 mW at 488 nm.

The analytical expressions for the cross-spectral density, the average intensity and the complex degree of spatial coherence of a radial phased-locked partially coherent flat-topped vortex beam array propagating through non-Kolmogorov medium are obtained by using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle. The evolution behaviors of a radial phased-locked partially coherent flat-topped vortex beam array propagating through non-Kolmogorov medium are studied in detail. It is shown that the evolution behaviors of average intensity depend on beam parameters including the spatial correlation length, the radius of the beam array, as well as the propagation distance. A radial phased-locked partially coherent flat-topped vortex beam array with high coherence evolves more rapidly than that with low coherence.

We report a diode-pumped continuous wave (cw) orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength laser at 1339 and 1341 nm with a single b-cut Nd:YAlO(3) (Nd:YAP) crystal. By adjusting the tilt angle of the uncoated glass plate inserted in the laser cavity, we can control the cavity losses of two polarized directions. The output wavelengths are 1339 nm in a-axis polarization and 1341 nm in c-axis polarization, respectively, which are orthogonal to each other. At an incident pump power of 17.3 W, the cw output power obtained at 1339 and 1341 nm is 1.6 and 2.3 W, respectively. Furthermore, intracavity sum-frequency mixing at 1339 and 1341 nm was then realized in a KTiOPO(4) (KTP) crystal to reach the red range. To our knowledge, this is the first work realizing an orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength Nd:YAP laser based on the (4)F(3/2-)-(4)I(13/2) transition. Such a dual-wavelength laser would be especially valuable as a compact laser source to generate terahertz emission because the frequency difference between 1339 and 1341 nm is about 0.9 THz.

We present a diode-pumped quasi-three-level neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser at 885 nm, based on the 4F3/2-4I9/2 transition, generally used for a 946 nm emission. Combined with polarization components (Nd:YAG), the electro-optical crystal KH2PO4 (KDP) formed a Lyot filter in the cavity and compressed the available gain bandwidth. With an incident pump power of 9.2 W, a 714 mW continuous-wave (CW) output at 885 nm was achieved, and the optical-to-optical efficiency was 7.8%. With an adjustable voltage applied to the KDP crystal, the laser wavelength could be tuned from 885 nm to 884 nm. A simultaneous dual-wavelength Nd:YAG laser at 885 nm and 884 nm was also realized by adjusting the free spectral range of the Lyot filter. To our knowledge, it is the first study that has realized the tuning between the 884 and 885 nm lines and the simultaneous dual-wavelength CW laser operation at 885 nm and 884 nm.

We report for the first time (to our knowledge) a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser emitting at 869 nm based on the (4)F(3/2)-(4)I(9/2) transition, generally used for a 946 nm emission. Power of 453 mW at 869 nm has been achieved in cw operation with a fiber-coupled laser diode emitting 35.4 W at 809 nm. Intracavity second-harmonic generation in the cw mode has also been demonstrated with power of 118 mW at 435 nm by using a BiB(3)O(6) nonlinear crystal. In our experiment, we used a LiNbO(3) crystal lens to complement the thermal lens of the laser rod, and we obtained good beam quality and high output power stability.

We report for the first time (to our knowledge) cw orange-yellow emission at 589 nm from a compact double-end diffusion-bonded Nd(3+):LuVO(4) self-Raman laser with intracavity frequency doubling in LiB(3)O(5), pumped by an 880 nm diode laser. A 3.5 W cw orange-yellow emission with an overall diode-to-visible conversion efficiency of 13.3% is achieved through the use of an 18-mm-long double-ended diffusion-bonded Nd(3+):LuVO(4) crystal. The M(2) factors are 1.35 and 1.74 in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions, respectively.

We generated efficient blue laser output at 454 nm by intracavity frequency doubling of a continuous-wave (cw) diode-pumped Nd:YLiF(4) (Nd:YLF) laser at 908 nm based on the (4)F(3/2)-(4)I(9/2) transition. With 32.8 W of incident pump power at 880 nm and the frequency-doubling crystal LiB(3)O(5), a level as high as 4.33 W of cw output power at 454 nm is achieved, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 13.2% with respect to the incident pump power. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first blue laser at 454 nm generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-pumped Nd:YLF.

We present what is, to the best of our knowledge, the first diode-pumped Nd:LuVO(4) laser emitting at 1089 nm, based on the (4)F(3/2)-(4)I(11/2) transition, generally used for a 1066 nm emission. A power of 8.7 W at 1089 nm has been achieved in continuous-wave (cw) operation with a fiber-coupled laser diode emitting 18.7 W at 809 nm. Intracavity second-harmonic generation in cw mode has also been demonstrated with a power of 3.6 W at 544.5 nm by using a LiB(3)O(5) nonlinear crystal.
