The article presents an announcement regarding the Thirteenth International Wittgenstein-Symposium organizes by the Austrian Ludwig Wittgenstein Society, from August 14-21, 1988. The theme of the symposium is "Philosophy of the Natural Sciences." There is an appeal for Scholars wishing to present a paper on a topic which falls within the above themes. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is May 31, 1988. The official languages will be English and German.

A welcome address for the 44th ERA-EDTA Congress to be held at the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) in Barcelona, Spain is presented. A total of 1.967 abstracts on basic and clinical nephrology were submitted for the congress, which were reviewed and analyzed by the Paper Selection Committee, headed by Chairman David Goldsmith. A description of the tourist sites in the city of Barcelona is also provided.

The article focuses on abstracts of papers presented in a meeting conducted by Scottish Dermatological Society in Newcastle, England in February 1993. In one case, adverse effects of a daily bathing in children with atopic dermatitis are discussed. In another study, combination of PUVA with other agents such as oral retinoids or topical corticosteroids may reduce the UVA dose required for clearance of psoriasis. Calcipotriol has been shown to be an affective treatment for psoriasis.
