The GPAQ has been validated for use in several LMICs previously and is a recognized tool for assessing physical activity level in resource-limited settings.[[17], [19]] Surveys included in the HPACC data set also ask questions about alcohol (67 surveys) and tobacco use (76 surveys), including the history of use, frequency and intensity. Key Features Though more than four in five deaths due to cardiovascular disease (CVD) occur in low-income and middle-income countries, there have been few data sources that allow for empirical estimation of key relationships relevant to the epidemiology, health behaviour and health services of CVD risk factors at the level of the individual.
