A national cohort study conducted by Casey Crump and colleagues examined the risks of depression, anxiety, and suicide in partners of men with prostate cancer. The study found that partners of men with high-risk prostate cancer had increased risks of psychosocial distress that persisted for 10 or more years. The study emphasized the importance of psychosocial support for both prostate cancer patients and their partners. However, the study did not consider certain factors such as treatment strategy and prior diagnosis of major depression or anxiety disorder, which may have influenced the results. The authors suggest that including these factors and providing the results of absolute effects would enhance the clinical applicability of the study. [Extracted from the article]
