Abstract

The article presents a study which focuses on the utilization of somatic embryogenesis for the establishment of an in vitro plant regeneration system of Aster (A.) scaber. The study uses the prepared Murashige-Skoo (MS) media for the examination of the effect of the combinations and concentrations of plant growth regulators (PGRs). Results show that the callus induction is influenced by the auxins levels.

Abstract

The article discusses a study which investigated the biosynthesis and distribution of phytoecdysteroids (PEs) 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) in Achyranthes japonica plants. It states that the total concentration of 20E each plant first stayed at a constant level and increased significantly after the initial leaf pair (LP) phase, while 20E concentration in a certain plant reduced quickly during vegetative development. It notes that 20E biosynthesis is not confined to particular growth stages or organs.
