The authors reflect on co-producing an academic book considering their diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. It discusses themes relevant to making co-production work which are establishing relationships with co-participants, adaptability and flexibility around structures and enabling the voices of people with lived experience. It discusses the limitations of the process of co-production, including structure of the book was already established and the decision who to invite to participate.

This article presents the lived experiences of attending special education schools in England from the perspectives of three individuals over different times and for different reasons. The focus on the lived experiences is to detail the real-life impact that attending special schools can have on individuals. The accounts highlight that whilst all the individuals had positive experiences from attending special schools, a recurring negative theme from all three individuals is that of a pervading sense of low expectations. The accounts detail the long-term impact of this recurring negative theme for the individuals, and key considerations for social work in the context of the increased use of special schools through the practice of Education Health and Care plans. Recognition of the differential effects of COVID-19 on women has led to calls for greater application of gender-based analysis within policy responses. Beyond pointing out where such policies are implemented, there is little analysis of the effects of efforts to integrate gender-based analysis into the COVID-19 response. Drawing on interviews informing a lived experienced approach to policy analysis, this article asks if, how, and to what effect gender-based analysis was implemented within social and economic policy responses during the initial lockdown, in British Columbia, Canada. Evidence shows that infectious disease outbreaks are not gender-neutral, meaning that women, men and gender minorities are differentially affected. This evidence affirms the need to better incorporate a gender lens into infectious disease outbreaks. Despite this evidence, there has been a historic neglect of gender-based analysis in health, including during health crises. Recognizing the lack of available evidence on gender and pandemics in early 2020 the Gender and COVID-19 project set out to use a gender analysis matrix to conduct rapid, real-time analyses while the pandemic was unfolding to examine the gendered effects of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. This paper reports on what a gender analysis matrix is, how it can be used to systematically conduct a gender analysis, how it was implemented within the study, ways in which the findings from the matrix were applied and built upon, and challenges encountered when using the matrix methodology. In 2015, a multidisciplinary group of academic researchers and extension personnel was awarded a US Department of Agriculture Coordinated Agricultural Project grant. The team's goal was to understand human decision-making in the context of potential livestock disease outbreaks, investigating the impediments to increased adoption of biosecurity practices by producers from multiple perspectives. Counting publications and presentations was not deemed adequate evidence of growth of interdisciplinary collaboration. Instead, we took a developmental evaluation approach, collecting data to illuminate patterns of interconnectedness across disciplinary boundaries. These data, mapped annually on a baseline framework, reveal the team moving from disciplinary groups with disparate epistemologies and interests to a cohesive interdisciplinary team involved in many unexpected and emergent projects. Network effectiveness is heavily theorized in the public management and administration literatures. In this article, I synthesize the literature on network effectiveness and the role of organizational theory within this literature. The review illustrates a considerable amount of organization theorizing, which suggests that the subfield of organizational theory, while not always explicit, is very much alive and well. Next, I identify what the literature does well, areas for improvement, and recent work addressing those gaps. One such gap is the mismatch between the theory in its formulation and the methods used to test said theory. While theory is configurational, testing rarely makes use of configurational methods. Further, the majority of the literature treats networks as static despite widespread recognition that networks are in fact quite dynamic. Recent theoretical and methodological advancements have been made to address these shortcomings, but these efforts continue to be the aberration rather than the norm. Finally, I provide an example of one future direction for theorizing which builds upon recent advancements. More specifically, I provide two ideal type configurational paths to network effectiveness which account for one dynamic aspect of a network, namely the sequential introduction of actors into the network. Background: Long-term medication adherence is problematic among patients with chronic medical conditions. To our knowledge, this was the first study to examine factors associated with nonadherence among patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis who discontinue disease-modifying treatments against medical advice.Purpose: To examine differences in perceived provider autonomy support between disease-modifying treatment-adherent relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis patients and relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis patients who discontinued disease-modifying treatments against medical advice.Methods: Self-report questionnaires and a neurologic exam were administered to demographically matched adherent (n = 50) and nonadherent (n = 79) relapsing- remitting multiple sclerosis patients from the Midwest and Northeast USA.Results: Adherent patients reported greater perceived autonomy support from their treatment providers, F(1, 124) = 28.170, p < .001, partial η2 = .185. This difference persisted after controlling for current multiple sclerosis healthcare provider, education, disease duration, Expanded Disability Status Scale, perceived barriers to adherence, and prevalence of side effects, F(1, 121) = 9.61, p = .002, partial η2 = .074. Neither depressive symptoms, F(1, 124) = 1.001, p > .05, partial η2 = .009, nor the occurrence of a major depressive episode, χ2(1, N = 129) = .288, p > .05, differed between adherent and nonadherent patients.Conclusions: Greater perceived autonomy support from treatment providers may increase adherence to disease-modifying treatments among patients who discontinue treatment against medical advice. The article focuses on the Franco-Tunisian relations during the 18th- and 19th-century and prior to colonialism in the 1840s. Several historical events are cited which influenced these relations including the treaties between Tunisian dynasties and France since the 13th-century, the Algerian invasion in 1756, and the commercial and other exchanges under Hammuda Pasha. Remains from shipwrecks found along the trade routes is also cited as a source of important historical records.

Introduction:: This study analyzed self-reported tobacco use among American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) people enrolled in the Education and Research Towards Health Study in Alaska (n = 3,821) and the Southwest United States (n = 7,505) from 2004 to 2006. Methods: Participants (7,060 women and 4,266 men) completed a computer-assisted self-administered questionnaire on cigarette and smokeless tobacco (ST) use. Results: Current use of cigarettes was considerably higher in Alaska than in the Southwest United States (32% vs. 8%). Current ST use was also more common in Alaska than in the Southwest United States (18% vs. 8%). Additionally, smoking was more common among men, younger age, those who were not married, and who only spoke English at home, while ST use was more common among men, those with lower educational attainment and those who spoke an AI/AN language at home (p < .01). Compared with the U.S. general population, AI/AN people living in Alaska were more likely and those living in the Southwest United States were less likely to be current smokers. Rates of ST use, including homemade ST, in both regions were much higher than the U.S. general population. Discussion: Tobacco use among AI/AN people in the Southwest United States, who have a tradition of ceremonial tobacco use, was far lower than among Alaska Native people, who do not have a tribal tradition. Tobacco use is a key risk factor for multiple diseases. Reduction of tobacco use is a critical prevention measure to improve the health of AI/AN people. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

The article presents information about a trove of relics possessed by a church in Exeter, England, and a legend that they were collected and donated in the 10th century by King Æthelstan. Traditional ideas of the religious significance of relics and reliquaries are described, and their symbolism is analyzed in historical and political terms. The example of Pippin the Short, who founded the Carolingian dynasty in Europe, is cited as an instance of the usefulness of relics in politics. Pippin used ceremonies involving relics on several occasions as a means of sanctifying his usurpation of power from the Merovingian dynasty. Æthelstan's relationships with Pippin's heirs is also discussed.

The article presents a biographical account of seventeenth-century devotional writer Susanna Hopton (1627-1709). Hopton is now chiefly remembered for her association with the manuscripts of author Thomas Traherne, although ironically during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries her reputation flourished, while Traherne himself was almost forgotten. She was commemorated in a number of compilations of "illustrious and celebrated women" and with equal irony it was not until 1932 that the attribution of some of her works began to be questioned.

Bell commented in his introduction that it was possible that Philip Traherne had been ordained in London, but that this suggestion could not be verified, as the Bishop of London's Ordination Books for the relevant period were missing. The article states that listed as L172 in author Geoffrey Keynes's catalogue of books from Donne's library is a copy of author Carolus Stengelius's "Sacrosancti nominis lesu cultus el miracula," published at Augsburg in 1613. Poet John Donne's signature and his Spanish motto, the latter partly cut away by the binder, appear on the title-page, but unlike many of Donne's other books, it contains no pencil markings in the margin as evidence that Donne had read it. Nor do Donne's writings contain any acknowledgment of Stengelius. Carolus Stengelius (1581-1663) was a Benedictine monk at the monastery of SS Udairicus and Afra in Augsburg.
