- Abstract
After an introduction to the main structural units and types of tungsten deposit in Europe, a description is presented of each of the following deposits: Mittersill, Austria - stratiform scheelite associated with quartz in a volcanosedimentary sequence; Montredon-Labessonnie France - quartz-wolframite veins and stratiform scheelite and fluorite; Salau, France - pyrrhotite-scheelite skarns related to a granodiorite intrusion; Morille, Spain- scheelite-quartz veins intersecting skarn layrs; Panasqueira, Portugal - quartz-wolframite and cassiterite veins related to a granite cupola; Barruecopardo, Spain - scheelite, loellingite and arsenopyrite in quartz veins associated with a late Hercynian granite., After an introduction to the main structural units and types of tungsten deposit in Europe, a description is presented of each of the following deposits: Mittersill, Austria - stratiform scheelite associated with quartz in a volcanosedimentary sequence; Montredon-Labessonnie France - quartz-wolframite veins and stratiform scheelite and fluorite; Salau, France - pyrrhotite-scheelite skarns related to a granodiorite intrusion; Morille, Spain- scheelite-quartz veins intersecting skarn layrs; Panasqueira, Portugal - quartz-wolframite and cassiterite veins related to a granite cupola; Barruecopardo, Spain - scheelite, loellingite and arsenopyrite in quartz veins associated with a late Hercynian granite.
